Opinion: Oulanyah will not make a difference

The former Deputy Speaker and Oromo County MP Jacob Oulanyah will not change things in the 11th Parliament. As he is set to be promoted from Deputy to the Speaker of the Parliament. This after two terms as the Deputy. He is now set to lead and be at the reigns. However, his a loyal soldier in the chambers and will not add any significant change.

He has been in Parliament now for three successive terms. Where he has served the President and National Resistance Movement (NRM) with amassed loyalty. To such a point, that he has no quarrels using Vice-President Guards to throw out opposition in 2013.

We know that he serves the interests of the President to the fullest. As he has stated in the past, that resolutions or recommendations passed in Parliament is only seen as advisory for the Executive I.E. the President. This meaning, when the Parliament passes these things. It is up to the President to enact or accept this advice or not. It is not legally binding, but token of advice.

If he really thinks like this. Then the methods and ways the Parliament is working has to be different. The MPs have to allocate their resources and their paper-trial different. So, they can go from an advisory body to a legal binding body. Which they already have to await ascending the laws by the executive in the end. Still, that adds more pressure to the President to enact the will of the Parliament.

Therefore, with the knowledge of previous acts of Oulanyah. Expect him to act upon this, but not be shocked. His a loyal man to the end. That’s why in 2012 he was willing to skip house rules to save face of the Bank of Uganda Commissioner Eng. Mutebile. This the sort of behaviour he has and history as well. Where he is willing to skip rules and do that serve his party. Instead of even following basic rules of procedure in the august house.

It is clear that his a man and been in the inner-circle. That’s why he has gotten to this point. Where the NRM CEC is saying his the man. When the NRM CEC is endorsing him. It is initially saying his the next in line. This is the final decision and the ones that matter. That’s where you want your order to come from and where you get the majority backing from as well.

He is a puppet, a loyal of sorts. A man who will do the bidding of the NRM and the President. He will allow the chambers to be overtaken by soldiers and security officers in plain clothes. Votes in favour of the President and legislation only serving him. That’s why his there in the first place. While his spending small percentages of his wealth on philanthropy in his district and county.

When you know all of this. Let’s be perfectly clear. Changing Oulanyah with Kadaga or vice versa wont make much difference. These two are practically the same. They have worked for the same objectives and serving the same master. That will continue. One has fallen and one has been promoted. The Parliament will still act in same manner as before.

Expect NUP MPs to be thrown out. FDC MPs to be thrown out. Expect investigation into opposition MPs and such. There will be a mess and the demonstrations will not prevail. The NRM runs the game and they have the weight behind it.

11th Parliament will not act much different from the 10th Parliament. Yes, there is a different speaker, but they will still need to wait for the NRM Caucus at the State House. There will still await the Cabinet decisions and the appointments of the President. If not the Presidential letters amending laws, legislation and the structure as a whole. Because, that’s what’s happening on the regular. That will not change under the rule of Oulanyah.

No, because he doesn’t have the power to change that. He just have to serve and be the servant for the cause of Museveni. That’s why his there in the first place. Oulanyah might say otherwise, but he knows damn well what keeps him there. It isn’t his legal mind or his character. No, it is his blind loyalty and that’s his willing to serve. Peace.

Opinion: The 27 guns vetted Museveni [Kadaga know this]

I want CEC to explain to me why Museveni is not subjected to the same. Why isn’t he also vetted? Nobody puts him under any vetting. He automatically qualifies and yet this is too undemocratic. Which kind of democracy is this?”Rebecca Kadaga (Emmanuel Busingye – ‘Kadaga to NRM CEC: Who vets Museveni?’ 19.05.2021, ekyooto.co.uk)

The two time speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga have no suddenly questioned the vetting of President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni. The sole-candidate and automatic chairman of the National Resistance Movement (NRM). It is funny that she does this after skating through the General Election herself and following ordinary protocol of the NRM.

Kadaga knows perfectly well… that everyone else has to follow electoral stipulations, codes and regulations. The President, the High Above and the King over Kings. He doesn’t have too. That’s why the Electoral Commission can write a sentence or two, but never publicly drop his credentials for his education or anything else. While others can be sued and lose their seat over the same issues.

Kadaga has seen this and knows this very well. This isn’t a new issue. It is old and gotten old with all the elections happening every 5 years. Museveni is never touched and he never have to deliver anything. He can just do a walk-over and the due-process continues like always.

President Museveni is practically untouchable. His the Don of the Family, the one who has all power and everyone else is his court. Museveni is the king and the rest are his servants, one way or another. Kadaga should has seen this and it couldn’t be shocking to her.

It is just that entitlement and expectations are hitting the fan. She doesn’t like that she has to follow the party lines and be a loyal subject. While he can do whatever and doesn’t have worry about anything. That’s because everything is built around him. She might dislike that, but that is the mere fact in this.

Museveni has been allowed and ensured things are run this way. Everyone else is accountable to him, but his not accountable to anyone. He has been the master, the commander and the supreme leader without any question of authority. Kadaga maybe doesn’t abide by this, but she has played along these lines in her career.

Kadaga can be infuriated that her tenure and her role is fading. As Museveni is dealing with his petty politics and keeping his ducks in a row. We know that the only ones keeping Museveni to account was the 27 guns. It was the NRA getting him into power in 1986. Since then his been above it all and haven’t needed any help from anyone. His been the man and people have allowed him that.

It is the guns, the army, the police and the authorities that gives him power. It isn’t the likes of Kadaga or anyone else. They are just there to serve his wishes and be a loyal subject. She might hate that and dislike that she has to be accountable to the NRM CEC. However, she has accepted this so far, why are she blasting the system now? Is that because she’s worried that someone will muffle with the bag? That her pay-off will be less and she is accustomed to a favourable salary. Is that the reason for all of this?

Kadaga has been a token soldier in Parliament for years. It is seemingly a worry that she will fall and be just another MP. That’s why she acts like this. Even though she knows and we knows that it was only the NRA that have held Museveni accountable. The rest is just small players who entertains him within his spectrum of power. Peace.

Opinion: Lt. Gen. Elwelu fall will come suddenly [if history is repeating itself]

There is already questionable reasons for the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) aka the National Army having 5 Members of Parliament. This is a “specialized” group by law and to further the militarization of the state in Uganda. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) have these sorts of MPs to secure majority and have the votes in their favour. It is not there to represent anything in particular. This is just a political game fixed in favour of the President and his ruling party.

Within those MPs from the UPDF. The newest member is Lt. Gen. Peter Elwelu. He will forever be remembered for the Kasese Massacre. Where there some numbers of fatalities. However, I doubt this numbers are legit. Since there was mass-graves made after that. People losing their lives, the state went into full mayhem and the supposed group they were fighting has never existed before or after. They just targeted the Rwenzururu Kingdom, which has been in legal jeopardy since then. The king has been in exile and not allowed to return. Therefore, the wounds of Kasese is still open and the lack of proper investigation or trials is the truth of the army, flying squad and special force command attacks on the Royal Palace in Kasese. That is something that I will never forget and nobody else should either. There are 136 lives taken, which have never gotten justice. While the ghost of the invisible “Kirumiramutima” or the “Strong Hearted” never came into fruition.

To this day and as he was swearing-in as MP he defended this. Saying the ICC had clear him and so fourth. Saying it was all justified and so fourth. However, still to this day… there is no evidence of the reasons for the attack, the massacre and the extra judicial killings happening in Kasese. Neither burning the Royal Palace and evidence for the arresting the Kings Guards and the King Charles Mumbere himself. Therefore, the Lt. Gen. better chill and await the turn of the tides.

Right now the Lt. Gen. is rising and promoted by all means. Since Kasese he has shown loyalty to the President and his son. That’s why he has gotten titles and new roles. He has benefited and gotten a pay-off for being a soldier in their causes. Clearly that is visible to the naked eye. This is why he feels superior and untouchable.

However, the Lt. Gen. should check how many generals that has had their demise. They have been close to the throne and suddenly they have died. There is plenty of these in the times of Museveni. He maybe feels unique and being something else, because of his position today. Lt. Gen. Elwelu might think he can get away from his past.

Nevertheless… him as person will sooner or later meet reality. If his ego gets to big or he forgets the chain-of-command. His been able to get promoted and get a bigger role. That’s because of his services and the levels of trust right now.

Well, he should know that this doesn’t last forever. He should read them books and see why so many high ranking officials is gone and had mysterious “illness” or “fatalities” which have never been resolved. The Lt. Gen should be reminded of that. Especially, when he hasn’t answered for the deaths in Kasese. The unidentified corpses that was buried in mass graves. These ghosts will haunt him until his death bed.

That’s why he should know how easily he could ensure their demise. Someone else could order his as well. Especially, if he turns left instead of right. At one point… he might do something wrong and the tables will turn.

Lt. Gen. Elwelu should be careful. He might thinks his the rising star, but that light can easily be dimmed and even be silenced, if the powers to be wants it so. He should be reminded of that and his lucky that he never been touched, because of what happened in Kasese.

At one point these souls will not only be his nightmare, but be reason for his fall. Peace.

Opinion: Twine defends extra-judicial killings [stray-bullets doesn’t count… apparently]

Not all killings are offences. For a crime to be regarded as a crime you must establish the ingredient and the intention. A stray bullet does not amount to a crime. If I am targeting somebody for a justification, and the bullet hits a person who is not my target, that is not an offence” – CID Spokesperson Charles Twine (Tabu Butagira – ‘Govt probe report on November riots leaks’ 17.05.2021, Daily Monitor).

The Spokesperson for the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID) is saying this. Which is supposed to this: “The function of the Directorate is to ensure effective detection, investigation and prevention of crime”. The CID is supposed to detect, investigate and prevent crime. However, it is not supposed to mask over or skip over crimes.

The CID shouldn’t erase crimes and it should be accountable for the actions of others. That the CID spokesperson isn’t preventing crimes here. It is instead allowing crimes being done. Let me explain this below. First with important codes from the Penal Codes, which is enacted and is law of the land. Especially, with the ideals the spokesperson is putting forward.

187. Manslaughter

(1)Any person who by an unlawful act or omission causes the death of another person commits the felony termed manslaughter.

(2)An unlawful omission is an omission amounting to culpable negligence to discharge a duty tending to the preservation of life or health, whether such omission is or is not accompanied by an intention to cause death or bodily harm.

188. Murder

Any person who of malice aforethought causes the death of another person by an unlawful act or omission commits murder” (Penal Code – Chapter XVIII, 15.06.1950).

We can easily see here what the Penal Code says about manslaughter and murder, which can be assessed to similar fashion of what the spokesperson is speaking off. He is calling “killings” not “offences” and I will disagree. That is degrading the laws and invalidating it.

The Penal Code is very clear… and that should be important the way forward. He speaks of intention. However, the law doesn’t have any sort of specifics or talk about motivation of the actor. The man behind the gun doesn’t need a motive or even a reason to do what he does. Since a person who causes death of another person commits manslaughter. That is the law and there is no say of intention. Just the result of the act done…. and the sudden demise of someone else. The death of somebody done with a action, which is seen as unlawful.

Therefore, there is no real talk of intention or target. The use of force, the bullet itself and that it kills is the main objective here. The person who does the “unlawful act” is the one in question. The person who kills and shoots the stray bullet. Not that they are targeting or having intentions. That is very clear. There is no middle ground or any sort of mechanism in law, which differs stray-bullets from other bullets. They are both bullets and use of force, which is an act that can be deemed “unlawful” and there be subject to manslaughter or murder charge. That is why the Penal Code says what it says.

It is tragic that the CID spokesperson doesn’t know the Penal Code, which have existent since 1950 and I do. That say more about him, than about me. A killer is a killer, no matter what his intention or act was as long as its fatal and causes the death of the person. Peace.

Opinion: Mwijukye, why the love for Kadaga?

Comrade Kadaga, the mother of the Nation, we feel the embarrassment you are about to find yourself in; it wont be brought by A4C but the foolish leaders in this country. we cant pretend that uganda is secure and peaceful, our guests must be welcomed with mambas, fed on teargas and entertained with gun shots so that they confirm that we have a ssebalwanyi in charge of uganda” Francis Mwijukye (12.03.2012).

Something’s doesn’t make direct sense to me. Especially when someone who has been resilient and a hard-liner like Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Francis Mwijukye MP is supporting the Speakership of Rebecca Kadaga. He has been elected as MP twice and in both terms he has supported Kadaga. Which to me is showing loyalty to the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Why are you in opposition? When you are acting and directly promoting NRM Cadres to the throne? Why are you even blue, when you could easily turn yellow?

I am just asking. Because, this man was supposed to know better and be better. I was shocked when Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine supported Kadaga and other NRM candidates during the campaign. I called him out for that, because it’s nonsensical to me. It is bad politicking and your only showing that you can be a sell-out and the motivation to run against the regime seems futile. When you are trading posts and benefits from wheeler-dealing. Then you initially corruptible and can be in their pockets.

That is also my worry here. Has Francis made arrangement behind closed doors for beneficial treatment in Parliament and therefore is settling for Kadaga? Was the gig at Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) that enriching for you? Is the juicy pay-off of the Parliamentary Commission, which you have held since March 2019 so dear for you?

Well, I don’t have the answers for this, but it is weird to see a man like this suck-up to Kadaga and doing it twice. This after fighting tooth and nail to get into Parliament. Been running campaigns and activisms for years to sell-out this quick. That the possible perks in office and additional pay could sway his opinion. That’s his not even loyal to the party line. His going yellow because he see shillings in the end.

It is all about those ends… and getting more money. That is more important than morals, loyalty and even the cause, which got him elected in the first place. He was a man of not only words, but actions. The messages he sent and the rhetoric has turned.

He called Kadaga an “Angle” and that doesn’t make sense. Because in her time… the Parliament haven’t acted on abductions, political prisoners or extra judicial killings. The Parliament in her time haven’t acted on the political activated prosecution of dissidents and opposition activists. The Parliament have allowed a take-over of the Special Forces Command and push through a “Life-Presidency” Project for Museveni. She is the carrier of the all the policies and acts, which is the will of the “High Above”. So, it’s weird that he supports and are behind her now.

It seems to be all about the money and its deliberate. It is sad to see a man like this trade his history, time and all the efforts on the alter of greed. That he could get corrupted and be less genuine. However, it is not shocking, because that is what Museveni wants of the commercialization of politics. That he can buy the ones on the other side and get them hell-bent his way. Get them from being vocal supporters into lovely cadres like Beti Kamya and Beatrice Anywar. They also went this route.

Seemingly in the 11th Parliament Mwijukye is following suit. It is tragic and a loss. Nevertheless, nothing new here. He just want to enjoy the spoils and feel the shillings rolling. That’s why the party-line and the opposition stances doesn’t matter. His just another corrupted individual enjoying the riches on behalf of his community. Peace.

Opinion: Do you expect an old man to save the youth?

I hate to say this… am not an ageist or anything. Usually, you age or career, the wisdom and the knowledge gotten over the years would be a positive. In most cases the wisdom of an elder is more valuable than the short-term gains of a quick pay-off. However, in this case it abundantly clear that this old man doesn’t care about the growing citizens or their needs.

This man in question in Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni. He will not dwell on that a second. Him and his allies will only care if their pockets are getting deeper or someone else is covering the bills. This man will not stand on the barricades for the ghettoes, the youths and the unemployed. No, he rather re-open the same factory and promise an industrial revolution. This man rather create white-elephants of food-processing or Juice-Factories across the Republic. Than actually do something sustainable.

Museveni have done the drill. He has dismantled commissions, national entities and he has profited. If not his allies have and they are loyal to him for it. They have misused ministries, tenders and created ghost enterprises. The whole charade will continue until his reign is over. The ones closely associated and “investors” will be pulled in by the grand corruption and the possible kickbacks. They will not be there for “development” or create a unique business. No, they are there because they know they will earn a quick buck without putting in the work. It is that is.

With that sort of regime and entitlement. With that sort modus operandi. Who thinks this man will save anyone else? He has let other die in his stead, but he has not come to the rescue of those who carried him at his weakest. This man have never returned a favour and only tried to compromise the ones he could get into the fold. He just want to ensure loyalty to him and not to further his supposed project.

No, this revolutionary was only in it for himself and used the “liberation” war as ploy to get wealth. He is fraud and fake with a lot of arms and fire-power. Not denying that and that what gives him the reign still. Not because he created a society or a policies which is fuelling hope. No, that boat have been sinking for years.

The state have delivered the same sort of monetary gains schemes, which is supposed to produce massive wealth and riches on the hustling economy. It is supposed to make farmers, cow-herders and charcoal salesmen into multi-millionaires within this method. However, there is little to no proof of this. Neither is many of these schemes are also supposed to secure the livelihoods and improve the cash-crops and profitable rural economy. This has been done with little to mediocre success. While the state has pushed similar things all along.

President Museveni will not save the youth and the unemployed. They are just useful tools to keep the oppression and keep the citizens hungry enough to worry about the next meal. Instead of wanting to fight or create a revolution to bring him down. This sort of play is also securing multi-national organization, the UN Organizations and others to cover from the misgivings of the state. So, that he doesn’t have to make proper and strong institutions to carry these things. The shortfall and lacks will be covered by aid, donor-funds or loans from IMF/WB/AfDB. That is just how things goes…

Museveni… will not save the youths as his ageing. He has less of reasons to care or even create real opportunities now. He has had 35 years to produce and haven’t done that until now. That train has left the station and now way it’s returning.

President Museveni promises to “Secure Your Future” and “Steady Progress” but he will not deliver either of this. Just like all the other promises. They are “hot air” and the up-coming generation, the previous ones and only a marginal elite have found some sort way to get promoted in this system. Just like the entitled few who has been anointed or was a part of the National Resistance Army (NRA). They are the ones who get the perks and the deals. The others get breadcrumbs, if they really that lucky even.

So don’t believe the hype… he will not be saviour but only be more sinister and more horrific as his gotten used to get away with murder. Peace.

7th Time the “charm”: The 12th May 2021 ceremony is no real celebration

What is happening today on the 12th May 2021 is the seventh ceremony of this one man. He is celebrating himself “winning” for the 7th time. They are saying his 6th Term, but I say it’s his 8th term because of the decade without any election, which should be counted as well. That is only fair to the general public who had to live through the “transitional” period with President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni with no polls, election or awaiting a new Constitution.

He took power on the 26th January 1986 and he got sworn-in on the 29th January 1986. The 2nd time was after the “no” party election in 1996. When he was sworn-in on the 12th May 1996. The 3rd time started again on the 12th May 2001. The 4th time was on the 12th May 2006. The 5th time was on the 12th May 2011. The 6th Time was on the 12th May 2016 and now the final edition of this was in full effect.

That’s why this is his seventh time and it has been traditionally held at Kololo Independence Grounds. Which is happening today too. He has clearly scheduled the 12th May every five years since 1996. That is steady programming and the venue is the same too. The only difference is the guests and the year it’s happening in. The VIPs and the speeches might differ a little bit, but not much because its the same genie out of the bottle every time.

If you think this term will be any difference than before. You are out for a loss of words and proper conclusions. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the same President of the ages. Who never seems to get things done or able to fix his bottlenecks.

The same man who has said all the rights things, but that is all lies to keep himself in office. He knows perfectly well that he has betrayed those words and those policies too. This Presidency will not get better. It will only become more horrific and deprecating. There will be no nice silver-lining ahead. Only if you have some false hope that the oil money will be able to pay the rising debts. Than you are living on hope and not reality. As this President and his cronies eats everything else up and sends the bill to the next generation.

That is why you shouldn’t look forward or think he will make a difference. This man has produced fancy plans, policies and papers for development, but that can only happen if donors, aid organizations or multi-national organizations paying the bill of doing so. That’s why every piece of gravel or road is hugely overpriced to cover cronies and kickbacks for every single kilometre they cover. This will not … be better now and his been of the hook for so many years.

Just like with the militarization, impunity and anti-democratic actions, which is happening on the regular. Where the opposition and dissidents are hunted down. There is no wiggle room for their existence and the laws are applied to them. Sometimes on random and the state is detaining people without even charging them, abducting them and keeping them incommunicado. Therefore, this Presidency will not be better. He will only continue to unleash the beasts and drones to go after the ones who dares to support someone else than him.

So, today isn’t a day of celebration. It is a day of ceremonial burial of freedom, liberty and justice. The state and the President is celebrating a 1980 Election Victory, again!

He is repeating the same sins and not repenting anything. His just hoping its all water under the bridge. That we are supposed to forget all the lives taken so he can rule supreme. We are supposed forget all the lives kept without due process, the lives put on hold and the ones living in exile. That is all so one MAN can rule indefinitely. This is tragic, but the reality here. Peace.

Opinion: Museveni proves one thing “If you live by the gun … you will die by the gun too”

What is happening tomorrow on the 12th May 2021 is occurring because of what he did all the way to the 26th January 1986. That is the celebration of his “sixth” election victory. Though we all know he has used the same tricks as the ones toppled to stay in power. The elections are mirroring and copying the 1980 election, which was the reason for the civil war in the 1980s.

That is why it’s really special that the arrogance and entitlement of a big bash, 4,000 people at the Kololo Independence Grounds. In the end of a campaign and a year, which has made it nearly impossible for people to gather or campaign. Where the authorities have blocked rallies, campaign meetings, concerts and other public gatherings. Therefore, it is really a show of power to do it at this day.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni came into power by the gun. He didn’t come in as the elected fella. No, he had to topple and get rid of his opponents. Museveni didn’t win people’s heart, but was able to destroy, hurt and harm the leadership of Kampala over years. That was done in a “liberation” war, which only freed him and anointed allies. The rest have to accept the idea of a limited freedom, liberty and justice. They just have to bite the dust and live with the impunity and injustice served on the daily. That’s because they are not part of the clientele and the cronies who serves the President well.

At this point and time we can give up the idea of a peaceful transition. The dreams of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and National Unity Platform (NUP) isn’t happening with Museveni. No, he came in with the guns and will only leave with them. There are only three avenues to his end and it’s not through the ballot-box. Any election held within the spectrum of Museveni will be rigged and an run in a manner, which will resemble the 1980 fiasco.

So, there are just three ways out. These are the first and the obvious one is that he has to die. Death. That means his heartbeat stops and his last breathe is finally done. The natural death of ageing… and it is inevitable. Everyone living will at one point die and then there will be a battle to fill the power vacuum. That will be horrific days and possible new atrocities, if not another military takeover for a “Transitional” Government supported for “stability” sake. Which is just a mere lie and will only prolong the agony of the citizens wanting a true civilian government.

The second is an assassination or a coup d’etat. Neither how this is happening. They have to go against the militarization of the Presidency and Government will make this hard. Unless, there is getting people disgruntled and feeling disfranchised by the regime. If the armed forces, security organizations and such feels they are taken care off. As if the state stops paying them off and starving them. Then they might turn on the President, but that is all just mere speculation at this point. This is ruling by the bullet and dying by the bullet. This is a General falling for another General. That is the ultimate betrayal, but is one way out… and will cause even a more totalitarian state. As it will be less forgiving as well.

The third solution is the revolution. That has been described by Dr. Kizza Besigye on many occasions. He has deliberately tried to spark this off. He has tried to get the people to revolt and demonstrate. The defiant man has tried to get people organized and boycott. Besigye have tried to educate the public on how the dismantle the system. Hurt it where it matters and get the feet on the ground. However, he has been close and shown that he could boost the public. Nevertheless, the politician and opposition couldn’t get it passed the finishing-line. He couldn’t get the state loose its strength and control. It was hurt, but not totally damaged and weak.

The defiance and walk to work was forceful, but lacked the final push to end the curse of the misrule and mismanaged state of Museveni. It couldn’t stop his oppression and his atrocities.

Museveni has lasted because of relations to the guns. His clinging to power to arms and security organizations. He has armed personnel and police officers ready on the go. There are people able and ready to kidnap, abduct, torture and get rid of his enemies. The state is doing this willingly to keep Museveni in power.

That is why Museveni will be a warlord and continue this life of never begging, but carrying a canon. This is why you either have to end it the way it started or show the force of the whole general public against him. The whole population have to rise onto levels like the Sudanese did to Omar Al-Bashir. That’s what is needed to be done to get rid of him. The will haven’t been there, but if it happens.

It will be like lightning and the thunder will hurt him. He will loose everything. Because, even a tyrant and a dictator cannot hold everyone captive. The Head of State cannot kill, arrest and abduct everyone. He can do that to a minority and to levels of society, but not to the ranks of cities, towns and whole districts standing up against the state. That is what needed and they need to stand-up. It will cost. Just like the ones who are already paying for their activism and trying to campaign against him. There are so many victims already and families scorn for decades, because one needed to rule for life.

Those guns and those weapons will only keep you there for so long. When he looses all momentum and there is hope for proper fundamental change of guards. That has never happened with Museveni. His still keeping lingering without anything like the peasants he “freed” in the 1980s. There is still so many educated people not getting jobs and so fourth. The state Museveni will leave behind will have plenty of the same misgivings as the ones he promised to fix. That says more about Museveni, than it says about the Republic itself. This is because of how he became the personification of the state and never let go. The “high above” and the one deciding people’s fate from the State House.

Museveni will not be remembered for freeing the people, but keeping them hostage, because of his powerful guns. Peace.

Federation for Uganda Medical Interns (FUMI): Sit Down Strike of all Medical Interns in Uganda (10.05.2021)

Opinion: Deo Akiiki, who is the new President?

“We, therefore, want to assure Ugandans that the country will be at peace as the new president is being sworn in” (Deo Akiiki, 10.05.2021).

Apparently, we are in for a shocker. As the opposition is either behind bars, house-arrested, abducted, kept incommunicado or tortured as well. The Defence Spokesperson Deo Akiiki is speaking out and promising a “new president” on the “d-day” or 12th May 2021.

Uganda has been waiting for a new President for ages. They have this one guy that never wants to leave office. The Republic has this one old man that seems to linger on forever. He seems to be busy burying his enemies. If not hoping he can compromise and corrupt the weak one among the opposition. That old man is the one who will have hold a massive ceremony again.

Still, Deo said this. He said it twice during his presser ahead of the Swearing-In.

The UPDF under the Joint Security architecture on national security has strengthened its support to civil authority as mandated by law in a bid to ensure that the country, the function of inauguration and swearing in of the new president is safe and secure for both nationals and international guests invited to grace the same” (Deo Akiiki, 10.05.2021).

We are all awaiting for the new president. There been several of candidates aiming for that since 1996, but none has been able to get there. The system, the authorities and the state itself have worked hard to make it impossible to happen. It is nearly impossible to even overturn or try to challenge a Presidential Election Petition. That’s because the state and the his handlers have made it nearly impossible to prove the rigging.

That’s why the people is awaiting a new president. Not rebranding the same old fella of 1986. He was new in the 1990s but we are 20 years from that even. Museveni isn’t new, but he has a new middle name since last election: Tibuhurwa. He always comes with a new name. That is why he has gone from Yoweri Musevei, to Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to the final Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni.

So, with every name-change… his still the same man who overthrow his predecessors in the 26th January 1986 coup d’etat after a long civil war. Therefore, Deo is promising a new president. Which we will not see. Not after this D-Day… no no no …. it is just the same old fellow from around the way. Not a new breed or the hope of the future. No, just the same old same old man who is using the army and the guns to stay in power.

Because Museveni isn’t anything new. He is the status quo and the continuation of the same. There isn’t anything he can do at this point. The old man cannot reinvent himself. He can only continue to lie to himself and deceive the whole Republic. President Museveni will not make a fundamental change now. That time has passed and he will not reconsider that now.

Therefore, we are all wondering who is the new President? Because it’s not Museveni. Neither is it Besigye since wasn’t running in January 2021. Maybe he is initially saying Bobi Wine should be sworn-in, but then his going against his master. Deo is maybe thinking that Museveni is “new” because of his new term. However, Museveni is far from new.

I will end with Matthew 9:17: “Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved” (New International Version).

The same can be said about Museveni. This lesson from the bible is relevant and maybe Deo should check it out too. Peace.
