Opinion: Babalanda don’t know her own party…

Many of us who are leaders have failed to read, let alone internalise the four chore principles of NRM and as a consequence, we have become lazy yet we could do things right. These principles and guidelines by President Museveni as the NRM chairperson is the gospel that leads us. These principles are patriotism, Pan Africanism, economic transformation and democracy” (… ) “We are dealing with unpatriotic leaders. It is a betrayal of the great revolution” (…) “However the President’s office has made headways in spreading the message of patriotism. In this period we have had so many trainings conducted in this direction. I urge you the committee members to embrace patriotism and renounce acts of theft, negligence and violence” – The Minister for Presidency Milly Babalanda (Franklin Draku – ‘Corrupt leaders betraying NRM revolution – minister’ 17.03.2022, Daily Monitor).

We know that these sort of words are often said by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. He has spoken of it and lectured about it. This is the sort of typical topics of the President. These sorts of themes are common. So, that the Minister of Presidency is spelling it out isn’t surprising. She said it herself, there been plenty of trainings, conferences and at other venues.

That honourable Babalanda is saying these things aren’t shocking or anything. It is more repeating what Museveni has been saying. While that is fine and dandy, the National Resistance Movement and the regime isn’t directly working for all of these principals. Neither is it working to stop people from thieving, negligence of office or stopping violence. All of these three things are done by the NRM on a regular basis.

The Minister should just look into the cabinet and appointees, which happens to be NRM members. This is all going from the State House to the Local Governments. It is like Bablanda should just look into Muhwezi or anyone else for that matter. There are several of candidates that has been spewing violence and thriving on it. That is going from the top and the fear is what keeping the NRM alive it seems.

This is why Babalanda is saying the right things. However, she is oblivious to this fact. That is very clear or she’s looking sideways. It is funny that she says these things are unpatriotic. While she could deem these things are about her close associates and allies. The ones in her midst who is eating of the plate of the government and who is using their role to enrich themselves. People came into power piss-poor, but leaving this life richer than King Salomon. So, I am just sneezing, as the scandals and the lost funds doesn’t disappear. Neither does the reports of paying ghosts and not following protocol in concern to public tenders. Therefore, the Minister should look into that as well.

We know these sorts of statements are the sort of way of boosting yourself and trying to be vibrant. It is the sort of saying all the rights things, but we know these won’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Not like she will push the President or anyone else with a high ranking position. There are plenty who has committed these sins, but never had to atone for them.

That’s why it’s really spicy to call it unpatriotic to do it. Because, that implies the members and high ranking official who does this isn’t in accordance with their patriotic duties. All of us know that those things are bad, but the NRM thrives on it and get loyal leaders to commit to it. Therefore, we know the words of the Minister isn’t really true.

It is a nice sentiment, but it is like throwing stones in a glass-house. Not a good look, but a look it is. Peace.

Opinion: Museveni – “China might be a problem in the future” – it will be if you default on your debt

Africa has been having problems for the last 600 years due to the slave trade, colonialism, neocolonialism — and none of it was from China” (…) not seen any serious problem, because their approach is different” (…) “They do not impose their offers if you do not want them, so we have not seen a problem for now. Maybe a problem in the future, but not now” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (Sinan Tavsan – ‘Uganda leader says China-style diplomacy ‘better than’ the West’s’ 17.03.2022, Asia Nikkei).

President Museveni had an exclusive interview with a journalist from Asia Nikkei and it was published today. These few quotes are from there and it is striking. The former donor darling of the West. The President who has pandered to the interests of the United States and their allies for ages. Who has eaten of the buffet of aid, grants and all sorts of prepositions, which has given him a larger than life persona.

That man is now blaming the West for if all. He is right in going after the colonial past of the West and the neocolonial structures, which are hampering development and continues the cycle of rich versus poor. This is justified, but he also shows a little nativity in concern to China.

It is just like he don’t think the monies, the funds and the China Exim Bank, which works like this:

The China Exim Bank is increasingly making use of a deal structure – known as the “Angola mode” or “resources for infrastructure” – whereby repayment of the loan for infrastructure development is made in terms of natural resources (for example, oil). While this approach is by no means novel or unique, and follows a long history of natural resource – based transactions in the oil industry – China has taken its implementation to a higher level. By providing preferred lines of credit to Chinese state-owned enterprises and foreign governments wishing to purchase Chinese made goods, the China Exim Bank supports the overseas expansion of Chinese firms in line with the country’s “Go Global” strategy, whose long-run goal is to increase the productivity and competitiveness of these enterprises vis-à-vis their global competitors. The arrangement is used for countries that cannot provide adequate financial guarantees to back their loan commitments and allows them to package natural resource exploitation and infrastructure development” (Institute of Developing Economies – Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) – ‘China in Africa’ October 2009).

What Museveni is not saying is what the costs of the debt and the structure of the Chinese support to Uganda or anywhere else. It is like Museveni haven’t seen what has happened when Republics or Nations defaults or fail to pay on the debts. Since, the Chinese Banks or Funds are coming with strings, which isn’t always public. That’s why we have seen what has happened to Sri Lanka and Tonga, which both has to give up key infrastructure to be licensed. The same has been told to happen Zambia and there are already fear of what could happen to Entebbe International Airport.

President Museveni should consider all of this, as it is next generation that will cover the debt he has been accumulated during his reign. There will be more than the Toll Road on the Entebbe Express-way to secure revenue for the added debt. It is like Museveni isn’t concerned about this and the threshold for repayments are coming closer. Therefore, at one point or another… if there is lacking domestic revenue… the Chinese companies or China can cease or capture collateral.

So, Museveni is right… China could become a problem. Especially, for all the nations who has eaten loans for the infrastructure projects in the Belt Road Initiative (BRI), which will pass the grace period and the debt of these has to be repaid. It wasn’t free money to build roads, buildings or rail-roads. No, it was an investment, which the Chinese plans to get profits out of. They didn’t give away this money. The first loaned the money, got a Chinese developer and Chinese Engineering company to build it and now later the debtor has to repay it with interests.

That is the brutal truth… I am not saying the loans are a problem, but they could easily become it. Especially, if the debtor doesn’t pay on time or in a fashion, which the creditor accepts. If they defaults or fails to repay. This gives the creditor leverage and possible freedoms or liberties to ensure collateral. Therefore, it could easily become a huge problem…

Museveni should also study how this happened to others. As sooner or later, this could happen in Uganda or anywhere else in Africa. The Chinese is right in doing this. The debtors signed the agreements and the stipulations on the loans are giving it legal binding rights to get it repaid. That is why … they might not use colonial techniques to get resources, ownership or have influence. They just borrowed money and with that has the upper-hand of their poorer states. It is a wise move, because the Chinese knows greed is an easy way of corrupting minds and get them into the fold. The same ways happens here. They don’t come with guns or war, but they are financially binding, which can easily be triggered.

In this instance, Museveni is partly outsmarted. Both are getting their interests nurtured, but at one point he could easily get into real trouble. It would be a huge problem and the state has to find currency or liquidity to actually cough up funds to pay on old loans. This is on the horizon and evidently, people are speaking to soft-heartedly about it. Peace.

Opinion: There more people than Norman who will disturb the Peace of His Excellency

It is the charges against Tumuhimbise Norman and Faridah Bikobere that are seditious. Both were tortured like the other journalists with whom they were arrested on Thursday 10th March, 2022 and released on police bond yesterday. Remanded to LUZIRA prison until Monday 21/3/2022” (Kiiza Eron, 16.03.2022).

Today the journalists Norman Tumuhimbise and Faridah Bikobere was charged and continues to be in custody until 21st March 2022. They have by that time already served equivalent time of 11 days in prison for the what they are charged with.

They are both charged on two counts, “Cyber Stalking” with wilfully, maliciously and repeatedly used electronic communication to wit Alternative DigiTalk Online Television which was directed against the President. The second charge was “Offensive Communication” which was directed to disturb the peace and quiet of the President.

When you read charges against these two. You have a hard time taking it seriously. Because, these sorts of things should only happen in fiction. However, this is non-fiction and reality. Where people are charged for these things.

It is sad when a supposed liberator and a freedom fighter does this to his citizens. The man who is supposed to have liberated them and given them fundamental change. Nevertheless, maybe that was all a lie and his just like the men he overthrew. Because, that is how things seems by the day. There is no difference between him or anyone he deposed back-in-the-day. His just like them…

That’s why the truth is piercing his skull. It damages his calm and he needs to address it. Since, he cannot use words or defend his actions. He rather order the authorities and silence the dissidents. Where he uses the authorities and the power of the security organizations to suppress the ones ho dissent.

Not that this is anything new. The same sorts of charges was put on Joseph Kabuleta and Dr. Stella Nyanzi. Therefore, we has this all happen before. Now it is just some new fellows who dares to question the President and his reign.

Let it be perfectly clear. Norman and Faridah is not alone in this. They are just the current ones who is vocal and in the firing line. However, there is more people out there that will disturb the peace of the President. There is more to come… since his reign will not last forever and the truth will set the Republic free.

You can only fake it for so long. The truth is getting exposed and the viciousness of his regime is just proven over and over again. The use of drones, torture and killing civilians for the political conscience cannot last forever. That is the mere reality of it. What Norman and others does is to shed a light on it.

That light the President prefers dim and not turned on. Sort of like his cadres who is blindly follow his every decree. Peace.

Opinion: The Luwero Triangle could pay the sacrifice for the bush-war, but it was forgotten afterwards…

The Luwero triangle ministry has not had impact on livelihood of the people in the area, leaders in Luwero district have said. They said the ministry, which was meant to mitigate the effects of the war in the region, has created no impact so far” (New Vision – Impact of Luwero Triangle ministry isn’t visible, area leaders say’ 10.08.2021).

The Ministry of Luwero Triangle was established in 2001 and by the end of 2021 the Ministry hadn’t done anything. In a region and area, which is said to be the mystical place and origin of the rebellion. A rebellion that is the groundbreaking reason for the existence of the National Resistance Movement or the National Resistance Army (NRM/A). Therefore, the NRM is clearly forgetful about it’s origins.

Here is what is reported to have happened in the Luwero Triangle:

However, it was the UNLA’s mass killings in the so-called Luwero Triangle, northwest of Kampala, which attracted most international attention. The triangle was formed by the convergence of the roads going north from Kampala to Bomba and Hoima. The Luwero area was chosen by the opposition guerrillas as a centre for operations against the government. Local people had resoundingly rejected Milton Obote ‘ s UPC in 1980 and there was undoubtedly considerable support for the guerrillas. The government’s response was brutal, not discriminating between the guerrillas who were elusive and not often captured and civilians, who were arbitrarily detained, tortured, raped and killed. Just how many died in the Luwero Triangle is ‘not known. The United States State Department estimated in 1984 that between 100,000 and 200,000 people had been killed. Certainly the population in that area declined dramatically under the Obote government although this was partly the result of the UNLA’s policy of forced removal of civilians population. On the rare occasions when it acknowledged that killings had occurred, the government implausibly blamed them on NRA guerrillas in captured army uniform. This was flatly contradicted by much eye-witness evidence. One of the best documented incidents took place at Namugongo, about 10 miles northeast of Kampala, in May 1984. Up to 100 unarmed civilians were killed, including the Reverend Godfrey Bazira, Principal of the Uganda Martyrs’ Theological College, and Sheik Yusuf Mollo, Imam of the nearby Kita mosque. UNLA soldiers entered the theological college, apparently searching for guerrillas. Staff and students were interrogated, fired at and beaten. Four individuals, including the Vice-Principal and another priest, were arrested. The four were held in military custody in Kampala and tortured before being transferred to police custody and released uncharged next day. The Reverend Godfrey Bazira was shot in the leg, beaten and taken away. When his body was discovered later, one eye was found to have been gouged out and there were other marks of torture and gunshot-wounds. Over the next two days many other people in Namugongo village and the surrounding area were beaten, tortured and killed by soldiers. Many women were raped. Anglican, Roman Catholic and Muslim religious ·places were desecrated and soldiers looted and destroyed property” (Amnesty International – Uganda – Human Rights Record, 1986-1989, March 1989).

You would think a war-torn region, which was the base of your rebellion would have gotten more after the liberation. Nevertheless, as the Ministry of the Luwero Triangle was established in 2001 and the war ended in 1986. The war continued in the Northern Uganda for many years to come, but in Luwero it ended with the hostile takeover of Kampala the same year. So, the NRA/M had its time and opportunity to make a difference there. However, it waited with a Minister 15 years and it’s been 36 years in power. After 35 years the people still couldn’t see any changes.

That says something about the NRM and how they haven’t supported the region, which gave it life and possibility to wage war. The NRM haven’t paid back to the ones that suffered the most. Still, the NRM boost on the daily about their magnificent record and how it fundamentally changed things. Alas, that is a lie. The NRM couldn’t even make a difference to the Luwero Triangle. That’s how disgraceful it is.

It only taken care of the NRA historicals and the ones who finalized deals with the rebel government in it’s early days. That’s why certain people are nearly automatically in the cabinet and has a plum-job. This is what is offered them and they will live lavish for life. While the families and the ones who was in war-zone for the whole bush-war hasn’t gotten anything substantial for it. That says something about the reigning party. Peace.

Uganda Law Society (ULS): Uganda Law Society’s Position on the Directive Banning Land Evictions without the Consent of the Respective District Security Committees (11.03.2022)

Opinion: The Public Trust in the 11th Parliament is at an all time low [and it’s not because of Zaake]

We know that the Deputy Speaker Anita Among only in her dreams wish she had the reputation or ability to bring confidence to the role of the chambers like Rebecca Kadaga ones did. However, she cannot and never will. The Deputy Speaker must miss Speaker Jacob Oulanyah. As he oozes some confidence and bravado, which she doesn’t. Neither can she set any good agenda or program, which will really help the nation.

No the stagnation of the Parliament is evident. The 11th Parliament is a stale atmosphere and not the sort of place for the future. That is done on purpose and the Parliament is most of the time busy with mediocre plans, lack-lustre government programs and adding more debt. The state isn’t discussing the gas, petroleum prices or commodities become more costly. The public isn’t seeing that..

No, the Deputy Speaker is saying Zaake has a deliver her an apology within a week and get the opposition to give the Parliament a new name for Parliament Commissioner after the late night vote against Zaake. That is how the Parliament is acting in 2022.

Just as COVID-19 Funds are unaccounted for, Parish Development Model is launched and there is plenty of other things on the table. There is lack of funds, fiscal incapacity and deficit recycling of debt. There is unsecured government loans and lack of transparency of these. As well as other dire matters, but her own honour is more important for “public trust” in the 11th Parliament.

That is when you know someone has the audacity. She acts like the Parliament and the lives of the MPs is hers to control. The words and the speaking in private or public doesn’t matter. Heck, if it is done in the Chambers or in Committee. Hell, it doesn’t even matter if it is quickly typed on social media. No, as long as her honour is breached. She has all the rights of the world to strike vengeance.

Who cares if teachers are lacking pay? Hospitals are run like shoddy public enterprises? If the medicine is running low or out of date? Who cares if the roads authority or any other state owned enterprise is run like a sweat-shop with no future earnings? Well, that doesn’t matter for the Deputy Speaker. As long as nobody questions her or her own words.

She just deserves the medal and the glory. Anita Among is the greatest among men. Her majestic outlook on life and her attitude is what everyone should aspire too. Where you have the guts and the gull of going after an opponent and later clip of his wings. While talking about procedure and calling it a transgression. Alas, she also offended him, but he has to double down on apologizing after taking away the role in Parliament.

The Deputy Speaker could make her role prominent and in the absence of the Speaker. Prove that she was worth a damn. Instead, she’s insulting herself and just showing the world how she is beneath the role. The ones entertaining this is accepting that one person is the victim, the judge and the executioner of the same petition. That’s what she has done and her majority party has played along.

This just shows how pointless and vindictive the NRM is. They have no spine or hearts, they are just out to take the others down. While they don’t address torture or even understands a torture victim among their own. Instead, they are punishing a victim, who was ridiculed by the Deputy Speaker. Who is again asking for Zaake to humiliate himself and beg for forgiveness. While she haven’t been held accountable at all.

The Deputy Speaker deserves a medal, an honorary title and a diploma, which could be spiced out and the red-carpet for her. In such a manner that she thinks she’s getting an Oscar or Grammy, but instead getting the “Good Grief, how dare you woman!”. Because, that all that she deserves and she’s clearly not fit for her role or title. She shouldn’t be there and is unfit. When she carries herself like this. That is beneath her station and her passage of rules of procedure in Parliament. Peace.

Opinion: 11th Parliament removes Zaake and now they better at all times act like saints!

Some opposition MPs have exited the chambers of Parliament as voting on a motion to remove Hon Zaake Francis as Commissioner of Parliament begins. This Follows a Motion moved by Hon. Ojara Mapenduzi to remove Zaake from his position as Commissioner” (Baba TV Uganda, 10.03.2022).

The censor or discipline of Honourable Member of Parliament Francis Zaake of Mityana District only shows how the 11th Parliament have failed it’s mission. The 11th Parliament is going after him and what he did on social media. After he reacted to how the Deputy Speaker Anita Among told him off in the plenary session. Therefore, the whole 11th Parliament has to now show it’s true nature and how it has live up to this standard.

What is also very significant in the case of Zaake is that the Deputy Speaker is the Complainant, Judge and Executioner. While a Report was written on him, but not that it said anything significant. It only proven that certain government agencies aren’t fit to investigate or have the skills to look into digital spaces, which is ironic… since those bodies are supposed to monitor and address these. Alas, the report in question only shows how far-fetched and blatant it is.

Before we take leave of this matter. the Committee does remind all Honorable Members of Parliament that they owe the institution of Parliament and the I public a duty to maintain public

trust and confidence in the integrity of Parliament. Honourable Members should be well versed with the Code of Conduct as provided for in Appendix F of our Rules of Procedure.

4. The Committee appeals to Hon. Members to act with restraint and decorum both within and outside the precincts of Parliament. Each Member of Parliament bears a duty to give honour and

respect to the institution of Parliament” (Committee Report on Zaake, March 2022).

Even if the 11th Parliament rules of procedure says this:

84. Use of unparliamentary language

It is out of order to use offensive, abusive, insulting, blasphemous or unbecoming words or to impute improper motives to a Member or to make personal allusions” (Rules of Procedure, 11th Parliament, 2021).

The words used by the Deputy Speaker could be accused of being abusive or improper, as she stated Zaake deserved a medal and she didn’t take into account the torture that the state has brought unto him on several of occasions. It is not like Zaake doesn’t know what this means and he was even blocked from travelling to India for treatment after one of the accounts of torture. Therefore, her own words was abusive. However, his reaction on social media (Twitter) was grounds enough to make motion. Nevertheless, the Deputy Speaker isn’t questioned or her words. Which should be under as much scrutiny, if there would be any fairness, but knowing the mental capacity of the Chief Whip and his associates. We know that is too much to ask for in 2022.

In Appendix F it says this:

5. Public Trust

Members shall at all times conduct themselves in a manner which will maintain and strengthen the public’s trust and confidence in the integrity of Parliament and never undertake any action which may bring the House or its Members generally, into disrepute” (Rules of Procedure, 11th Parliament, 2021).

What is funny when the MPs who are making the report and the judgment of voting him off. They are deliberately setting a standard for themselves, which will be hard to follow. These folks cannot have outbursts, speak out of line or act with swift retorts on social media. Neither can they speak out of character on Television or on Radio. Because, then they would act like Honourable Zaake did on Twitter and they cannot do that. They have to act within the same parameter as they set on others. We know the Chief Whip and Deputy Speaker is only interested in taking a stance and save their own.

However, in this with all due respect. They are only undermining themselves and being vindictive. They are only showing a disregard for free speech and ability to have self defence. The NRM MPs and everyone who supports this is engaging on a small and very very narrow path to self-destruction. The MPs are putting in mufflers and silencers on their mouths and typing-fingers. They cannot text or talk freely, because if they do… they should end up like Zaake.

We ask the Opposition to give us another name” – Deputy Speaker Among (10.03.2022).

What is striking is how the Deputy Speaker could do this and pull it off. It shows her true character and lack of spine. If she ever gets hurts and defend herself. She better act like lady and no say a word. Since, she didn’t allow Zaake to say anything without consequences. She better act correct and be the divine angle God created her to be. That’s how the world should see this…

155 MPs have voted to remove Mityana Municipality MP (NUP) Hon Francis Zaake from the Parliament Commission for disparaging the Deputy Speaker Anita Among. Four people voted against the removal of Hon Francis Zaake, while the tally registered two invalid votes” (Parliament of Uganda, 10.03.2022).

After this evenings proceedings in Parliament. What the 11th Parliament Members of Parliament needs to do at all time. They need to be civil, accurate, in accordance and be gentle. These MPs needs to act like saints and never ever think any ill. The Deputy Speaker better be on her best behaviour. Since, she has gotten off the hook and punished someone for retorting against her. That’s the reality here. It is nothing noble or grandeur about it.

The 11th Parliament is only showing its vindictive and lack of character. These are supposed to be leaders of men, but instead are just sheep following command. Those people voting in the chambers of Parliament at night of the 10th March 2022 are people without spines or personality. They are only there to serve a purpose for the President and the State House. These folks cannot carry themselves or ideals. That’s why they accept this bondage and they should act careful in the future.

Since they are showing the world how little talk, discussion or expression of though that is allowed by the Members. Therefore, they better be correct and come in the same name. If not… they should serve a similar predicament, as the game is set and how little it took to take someone down. Peace

Opinion: Aye yo! The Movement wasn’t built for the up-coming generations…

If there is a youth (in Uganda) who is not NRM, they must have a problem in their head. Without the NRM, those youths would be what the Banyankore call Kaributi (the late). Many of them would have died in infancy” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (08.03.2022).

On the Woman’s Day of 2022 and in the speech on the National Celebration of the day. President since 1986 had to address everyone else. While also showing his disregard for many citizens in the Republic. Since, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) isn’t as popular as it ones was and certainly the youths aren’t seeing any of the promised progress, which is forever been pledged at any campaign since the 1990s.

The youths of the Republic has every reason to be dissatisfied, disgruntled and disembark from the Movement. A movement that left them behind and haven’t given them any reason to be loyal to the cause. Since, they are not the category or the ones who are eating of the plate. They are neither in the calculations or in the bargain of investments. Their equity and ownership is deluded, devalued and sold easily to third parties. Who can get access and live in comfort, while the average youth cannot come out of poverty, hardships or excel to any sort of place of middle-income life-style. Therefore, there is no reason to trust the Movement or the NRM as a youth.

The Youth are being tricked, sold and taken for granted. Their future is traded, loaned and the youth have to pay with interests. Since, the current state is taken up loans that it cannot cash. There isn’t domestic revenue and neither a promised pay-off, which will cover the spiralling debts. Debts and loans, which the old man and his cronies are eating off from. The debt that the next generation has to pay off and with additional fees as well. Heck, if they don’t, then they will loose collateral or the little leverage they have.

The President haven’t delivered a promising future for the youth. So, why should they stick to his programs and pledges? Why should they belong to a party, which have abandoned them? If it hasn’t left them behind. One of their siblings, relatives or friends has been touched by drones, abducted, kidnapped and charged for their political activism. Why should they sell their soul and their minds to a party that does this to their own?

That’s what the President and his like doesn’t get. It can torture, detain and silence critics, activists and political leaders. However, youth aspires to these people and feeds of their energy. Because, the ideals of these people lives among them. The NRM is living among the elites and the NRA veterans. They are not in the trenches, ghettos or lost suburbs. No, they are only their for a minute during campaigns and giving away T-shirts. Before returning back to a State Lodge. Therefore, the President has little to nothing to offer…

It isn’t the youths problem that the Movement isn’t selling. It is the Movement’s problem that it is viable for the youths. It is the President fault and the correct line, which is entail the suffering and the plights of people, which the party and the government has forgotten. That’s why the youth isn’t aspiring to it or feeling a connection with the Movement. Why should they? What is there to gain? Other than blind loyalty and hopes for a plumb-job in far distant future?

Well… that isn’t much and the sacrifice is so big too. You have to give up your ideals to serve a party and it’s leader. While not subscribing to the honest truths of the organization. That is the gist of it. While friends, family and neighbours are in pain, because of the regime. This is why the problem isn’t the youth, but the party, which doesn’t serve them nor their communities. Peace.

Opinion: Project Muhoozi is moving to the next chapter

After 28 years of service in my glorious military, the greatest military in the world, I am happy to announce my retirement. Me and my soldiers have achieved so much! I have only love and respect for all those great men and women that achieve greatness for Uganda everyday” (Muhoozi Kainerubaga, 08.03.2022).

The first son and Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerubaga is on Women’s Day announcing his retirement from the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF). This means the UPDF Commission and institutions has to be notified and told about the retirement. As the military career is suddenly over and his becoming a civilian. Alas, his still the third ranking Lt. Gen. who happens to be the Commander of Land Forces (CLF) and previous leading the Special Forces Command (SFC). Which is making today very unique.

Because, since 2013 there has been smoke and mirrors. There been slowly growing movements of his rising power. Where he has gotten momentum and more prestigious titles. He has gone up in rank and in responsibility. While only holding the Senior Presidential Advisor title at home. Therefore, we knew things was happening and in the cards.

Gen. David Sejusa aka Tinye aka Tinyefuza warned the general public in letters, which was so grading and so confidential. That the Daily Monitor and Red Pepper was ceased for a week after releasing the first one. Heck, the General had to flee into exile and lived in London for a stint too.

What Muhoozi should consider is that his time in the army and becoming a civilian will come with a cost. He will always be questioned by the actions of the SFC and whatnot. The former Lt. Gen. cannot act like he doesn’t have blood on his hands or have used violent means towards civilians, which can be deemed as terror or torture. Therefore, Muhoozi will now carry on to another office.

Muhoozi will get the next chapter into becoming a civilian and another high ranking official in the government. Where he will have the space and opportunity to evolve. So, the ones paying the gigs and praising brigade of Muhoozi will staunch his every move. They will praise him like a demigod. That’s who he is to them and they are creating an image of greatness, even when he hasn’t created anything substantial. Neither, does he have an impeccable record as an army commander. No, his just been a raunchy and loud individual who happens to have rank.

The ones that believe anything good comes out of this. They are fools. There is nothing good coming out of this. It is the eventualities of a succession plan and a monarchy ticket. That’s all there is and the National Resistance Movement will either be what it is or be rebranded to the new kingpin. Because that is what it all is. Just like there was an UPM and it had to become NRA before it was successful. The same will be with Muhoozi and his fellow cronies. They will dance and sing the songs he wants them too. However, they will not give any service or care to the designated office, which he will happen to take. Some other unlucky permanent secretary or fixed bureaucrat has to lift the burden away from the first son. Because, it is not like his enlightened or have the wits to capture it.

Muhoozi will go to “greener” pastures now, but don’t expect it to graze the fields quietly. No, he will come with all the big-guns and gravitas of his unceremonial presence. This man will not make strides or go through tribulations to go anywhere. No, this man will go without any hurdles or re-runs to get there. The way has already been paved and he can just walk on the tarmac as we speak. While someone else made the road and prospects of getting to that point. Peace.

UPC Regional Chairman for Bunyoro Kajura Amooti arrested over an unknown social media post

UPC regional Chairman for Bunyoro, Matias Kajura is under police custody following some post on one social media group kangabaije, it’s alleged he rubbed security the wrong way the CISO and RCC ordered for his arrest. We strongly condemn this act of intimidation and abuse of freedom of expression and association. We demand his unconditional release because Chairman Matias Kajura Amooti is not and can never be a threat to the security of Bunyoro which he serves with passion. Freedom of expression should not be abused and we won’t let it happen under our watch here in Bunyoro. Intimidation and arrogance will be fought to the marrow. Bunyoro is predominantly NRM, but we have freedom of association and we should learn to be tolerant and accommodate divergent opinion” (Enyunyuzi za Bunyoro, 07.03.2022).

This news reached me through Andrew Omara on Twitter. It wasn’t causing headlines or stir elsewhere. It is a need… because it is clear that Matias Kajura Amooti is arrested for his political aspirations and conscience.

That makes him a political prisoner or a prisoner of conscience. There is even reports that he possible is bare-feet and kept in an unknown location. His kept like so many others in the Republic in incommunicado.

Whatever he wrote on the Kangabaije group shouldn’t matter. It would be interesting to read it or see a screenshot of it. Since, it would be interesting to see what got him into trouble. We have in the past seen texts, which is offending the President and his Son. Which has been enough to offend and be called “offensive communication”. This time around there is not in the public or known. Only that the man is arrested and taken into custody.

This is worrying, but follows a pattern of the state. Which is more reckless and easily can detain people without court orders or warrants. There is no proof or reason for charges at this current time. There is only wild speculation, which isn’t any good. However, I doubt he was arrested on solid grounds.

This is just another us of a drone in 2022. Peace.
