This is just the early morning. Just think about with the already house-arrests and the Army deployment in Kampala. There will be actions done by this day and as the day goes by there will reactions to it. Let’s see and wonder how it all will go down. Not to talk about how the Uganda Police Force and Uganda People’s Defense Force will act towards fellow citizens. Peace.

Press Release: “#SitukaMay5: Ugandans to rally in defence of religious freedoms and democratic rights” (05.05.2016)

FDC 05.05.2016 Planned March

Nationwide protests, a test of Government’s commitment to civil and political rights.

Tens of thousands of Ugandans, from all walks of life, will be gathering in cities and towns across the country this Today in peaceful protest against the government’s persistent violation of their basic civil and political rights.

Organised by the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) to oppose the planned inauguration of Mr. Yoweri Museveni after fraudulent elections, the protests have taken on new urgency after many Ugandans were arrested or otherwise prevented from gathering to pray for a peaceful resolution to the political crisis gripping the country. The government’s move to prevent its citizens from gathering to pray is extraordinary and unprecedented.

Uganda held presidential and parliamentary elections on 18th February, 2016 that EU observers found to be “eclipsed by an atmosphere of intimidation”. Despite widespread evidence of fraud and mounting international criticism, the government has resisted calls by Rt. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye to resolve the disputed vote through an independent audit of the electoral process.

FDC Arrests April 2016

Earlier this week, that resistance turned into outright panic when police enforced a cadre Judge’s outrageous judgement banning protesters from meeting to pray for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing dispute. The Lord Mayor of Kampala, Erias Lukwago, several religious leaders and ordinary citizens were arrested for no offence other than seeking to exercise their fundamental religious rights.

Mr. Museveni’s regime has thus escalated the conflict from one of electoral rights to basic freedom of religion. This is likely to backfire: Ugandans are a deeply religious people. The FDC and its pro-democratic allies will stay the course, peacefully insisting upon their constitutional rights to determine their own future and that of their country.

We can only hope that the regime will take this opportunity to pull back and seek a peaceful resolution to a conflict of its own creation. One way or another, Ugandans, and only Ugandans, will determine who leads their country. We pray that today, Mr. Museveni and his associates choose a path of peace and respect for the people they purport to govern.

ENDS.

Video: Military Patrols Entebbe Road ahead of FDC Demonstrations!

Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and MP Elect Francis Mwijukye is put under House-Arrest!

Lukwago 05.05.2016

Erias Lukwago statement this morning:

“Police have once again sealed off my home with several patrol vehicles and the notorious black, but we mantain that persecution and repression is no answer to the prevailing political gridlock”.

MP Elect Francis Mwijukye:

“Army and policemen are deployed outside the gate of my house. I can assure them that I Will get out of this house. I will defy their detention and go to Najjanankumbi. No turning back. You can’t stop an idea whose time has come”

As the 5th May demonstrations are soon under way as planned. The Police Force are already mounting up and tooling at homes of the leadership and the connected to the FDC. This here is proof of the established oppression of the men and woman who leads the demonstration. As for now the second time elected Lord Mayor of Kampala is put under House Arrest, with no warning, no charge or reason from the Authorities as the Police is allowed to do whatever they like at the moment. More to come. This day have only started! Peace.

Lukwago statement after being free’d after being detained for going to the FDC Tuesday Prayers (04.05.2016)

Lukwago 04.05.2016

It’s a great pleasure that am finally out of those dingy, filthy and mosquito infested police dungeons in Naggalama, where I spent a long night with my brother, Pastor Ngabo and others. Am ready to stand trial on the vexatious charges of disobeying Justice Kavuma’s Interim order, which have been preferred against us before Makindye Magistrate’s court this evening and this will only serve to rekindle our spirit and resolve to fight for the restoration of Rule of Law and constitutionalism in our country. Am extremely grateful for your prayers and support.

Lastly does the new guy Presidential Advisor for Kampala Affairs Singh Katongole any words to utter? I don’t expect wisdom from Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago since Musisi and Tumwebaze impeached him and during the period you guys have run the place. Do you have any wisdom,  If you have feel free to comment on the blog and drop the wisdom on the matter; as the leadership are on your shoulders. Please do and comment as the Vaccine have been delivered and then went into thin air… Peace.

Latest Update from Makindye Magistrate Court – Good News: “Non-Cash Bond”!

Makindye Court Pastor and Lord Mayor 04.05.2016

The great news from the Makindye Magistrate Court have finally given a verdict a Non-Cash Bond of 5 Million shillings. So the rumors were wrong even if the ordinary Modus Operandi would be to detain the Fellow FDC Activist.

“Suspects rounded up Tuesday as they attempted to hold FDC prayers granted UGX5 million non-cash and UGX20m non-cash for sureties” (NBS TV Uganda, 04.05. 2016).

Asuman Basalirwa said this in court: “The court needs to protect individual rights and prevent lawlessness. This adversely strains their welfare .Its Ironical that the same state who,s motto is For God and My Country is holdings citizens for praying. Bail should not be refused mechanically”.

So there are hope, but if the demonstrations happen tomorrow, don’t be surprised if the same fellows will be back in custody of the Police. Because they will use all force stop the FDC from demonstrating. Therefore they have house-arrested Dr. Kizza Besigye again! Peace.

Makindye Magistrate Court, a update on the FDC Activists Court Session and the charge!

Makindye Court Pastor and Lord Mayor 04.05.2016

The Men and Woman who was detained yesterday for attending the FDC Tuesday Prayers are charged with contempt of Court Order. That Court Order is the Interim Order of banning of the Defiance Campaign of 29th April of Deputy Justice Stephen Kavuma. The 29 Activist have deemed themselves not guilty. Amongst them are Dr. Stella Nyanzi, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Pastor Happy David Ngabo.

Here is the charge paper:

29th April Offence Uganda

Think that is enough for now. It seems like the rumours was justified and that the Opposition activist, Leaders and others was deemed to be detained as the NRM Regime continues to strive for excellence of forging the power. Seeming likely that they will be denied bail and continue to be detained and under Police Custody. Peace.

Update:

All six suspects charged in Kiira Court for DEFIANCE have been released after paying UGX 1.8M in bail fees. So the FDC Activists there was atlest released, but the tale of the Campaign of Defiance is not yet over. It is just starting.
