South Africa: Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) – EFF Statement on the Confirmation by the ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula that Cyril Ramaphosa had resigned as President of South Africa (10.01.2024)

Opinion: ANC’s Mbalula says the silent part out loud…

“We defended Former President Zuma, we even went to Parliament and said a swimming Pool is a fire Pool, The Constitutional Court led by Mogoeng Mogoeng released a judgement against Jacob Zuma but the ANC stood by him, today Zuma says he can’t stand President Cyril Ramaphosa” – ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula (07.01.2024).

There is always a code and a brotherhood amongst comrades. That the African National Congress (ANC) has this and defend itself is all natural. The ones in power shield themselves and each other. They don’t want to lose the cookie-jar or the ability to eat. No, they want to be in office and be in power.

We know the Nkandla Village Project and the Fire Pool was a lie. While we have seen how the former President haven’t gotten more than soft punch after he was forced to resign. He had an investigation in the “State of Capture” but his not been punished or been actively charged for his actions in office. Therefore, we know the ANC has shielded him and saved him. Because we know that if they went after him. The same authorities would have to go after other high-ranking officials as well.

What the SG said now is revealing of how the ANC operates. As it shows what they do, and the SG was a minister during the Zuma years. Therefore, he knew everything at the time, and he could have done the right thing. However, that wasn’t in the cards, and they all needed to safeguard their futures. That’s why they did what they could and tried to continue the gravy-train.

The Zondo Commission and the State Capture Enquiry has become an engine of going nowhere. Neither has the case(s) against Zuma. He just gotten a taste and minimal time behind bars. It is like he could eat of the public reserves and sell out state owned enterprises (SoEs) without any consequences.

There still not being anything done about the State Capture Report which implicated the Gupta’s and they have just gotten away in exile. Certainly, former President Zuma has also been partly able to get away. His not in prison or serving time anymore. No, his currently preparing a political party and campaigning against the state. A state that he ran and against the party that he was so loyal too.

Now that the ANC SG said what he said. We can wonder else they have defended or tried to shield. As if they did this to Zuma… and most likely did it to others too. As Zuma isn’t the only one who misused funds or public office. Therefore, they are showing their “codes” and “ethics”.

This is just depressing and disappointing, but not surprising in 2024. No, it is the game the ANC have played and become. They are just a group of thieves who is trying to avoid being caught. If they are… they will defend each other and find ways to siphon other funds. These people won’t serve for the interests of the people. No, they are there for selfish interests and themselves.

One day they defended Zuma, but now as he turned, they are telling the truth. The truth which they didn’t want to tell to Parliament or anywhere else. However, now that the buck has stopped. The ANC are now retaliating, but isn’t it a bit too late? Secondly, this just shows what sort of party it has become and who they are. Not the look the ANC wants, but the SG spoke facts and shows previous action was fiction. Peace.

South Africa: ANC Veterans’ League – The role of the ANC Veterans’ League in the elections campaign (19.12.2023)

Opinion: Zuma’s curveball ahead of the elections…

Former President Jacob Zuma has urged South Africans to vote for newly-formed party uMkhonto weSizwe. Speaking in Orlando East in Soweto today Zuma said that this will enable the rescue of the ANC whose current leadership he says, is a proxy of “white monopoly capital”” (SABC News Radio, 16.12.2023).

The ignited former President Jacob Zuma has come out as a Presidential Candidate for uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party. There was earlier in the week announcement of a press conference where he would tell what he would do. Today he did just that…

His now an outsider looking in. A former African National Congress (ANC) leader and former President who challenges the incumbent. Regardless, of him keeping his membership or not in the ANC. His still going head to head with the leaders of ANC and their incumbent Presidential Candidate. That’s a given and it’s to go after Cyril Ramaphosa.

The ANC is now challenged on a spectrum of parties and with former comrades within their midst. They are now facing further splits of votes and possible re-igniting of old grievances. That’s a coming thing here.

Zuma must know that throwing this grenade this late before an election. There is no way the MK party or his candidacy can be victorious. Maybe that’s not the idea behind it anyway. It is a way of forcing and ensuring “coalition” or agreements to get a slice after the fact. There is more likely a long-con in this and Zuma wouldn’t do it without knowing he could benefit after it.

This is a gift for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) as the ANC are weakened further. Zuma still have high regard and possible outreach to voters who would have voted ANC. Now the same voters could either vote for him or Ramaphosa. That is a bonus for Julius Malema. He will see this an early Christmas Gift.

Zuma is now playing a dangerous game. As he has to galvanize the troops and his supporters. There is a need to prove his worth. Not only play victim of his own action and blame the state for targeting him after the fact. Now he has to prove he will act differently and be a viable candidate. While many will remember the “State of Capture” and his endless corruption scandals. Therefore, he has a bad track-record as a Head of State. Regardless of what he did in the ANC before getting into office.

Seeing Zuma return to politics is only a signal that the man is off the hook and still has political capital. He will still thrive and fight for his legacy. However, him and his party won’t get far. The only thing it can do is to hurt the chances of the ANC. The MK Party won’t be winner or a game-changer. No, it is just another outfit that will be in the minority vote. They will not overnight become a majority or have the ability to gain nationwide success. Even with a figure like Zuma. That has been shown by others who has created their own parties and become regional parties or within certain voting bases. Therefore, Zuma has to either reinvent himself or sell a story that will be hard to believe.

Zuma returning isn’t shocking, neither is the candidacy for another party. Because, we know he wouldn’t be welcomed back with open arms in the ANC. That ship had sailed. Now he is out on his own. This is done to challenge the ANC, but will MK have a chance?

I doubt it… ActionSA, BOSA and others has been created without reaching far. That’s why I doubt he will get anywhere… Peace.
