President Musveni letter to Minister Matia Kasaija: “Delays in Clearing Imported Machinery By M/S Guangzhou Dongsong Energy Group (U) Co. Ltd” (14.08.2018)

Possible problems with carving out Budama district out of the Tororo County!

There are again new allegations and old pledges from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and its local problems it create. The political patronage and possible benefits of certain creations of districts seems harder by the day, as the share numbers of district is sky-high. Not to think about the already carved out counties and sub-counties inside each district. Therefore, the vast patronage already created through these sort of arrangements cannot be easier when carving out more districts.

It seems like a hard bargain to make a Budama District in the Tororo County, as the Adhola Community meeting today in Kampala spells out. There does not seem to be reachable, unless there is significant plans whey they sufficiently think of the new boundaries, considering there have not come the other planned in Mukujju district back in 2005. So it is not like pledges from the President before has become reality for the Adhola community. They have been left behind in the past. Therefore it should be important for the state to listen to one part of the meeting resolution, which stated: “2. The Japadholas never asked for the district, so no district shall be accepted by the Jopadholas” (Adhola Community, 12.07.2017).

Therefore, when you read the Annex of the meeting, you will see the sentiment and the no-need for a provision of a carved out district. Unless, there political patronage and promises not kept from President Museveni. Someone from the area shielded him during a battle in the 1980s and he has to pay it off now. Since he still can pay him!

New Vision reported back in 2009: “The Iteso, on the other hand, do not see why the name Tororo should not be dropped. Etyang states that the people of Tororo county have been agitating for this for the last 10 or so years. “This decision leaves West Budama alone whether or not the Jopadhola have asked for a district,” he argues. He says it is virtually impossible for Tororo municipality to remain with West Budama because it was part of Tororo county before the municipality was created. For this reason, the new Mukuju county has the right to have its headquarters in Tororo town. War over wealth: If the split finally goes ahead, West Budama will lose the most in terms of property. It will lose the key industrial town of Tororo, which has become a hot cake following the discovery of huge phosphate deposits, the revival of Tororo Cement factory and the planned construction of an inland port” (New Vision, 2009).

So the promises and thinking of the carving this area into more districts has alreay been into the minds of people for a long time. Paul Etyang is also clear of the lines and the values in doing so. Also, the ramifications that we’re in 2009, which would be similar today. There we’re talk of West Budama and not East Budama, which it we’re in the meeting today. But still proof of the sentiments that was already there.

Enough talk, but if you want to understand it more. Read the annex. Peace.

Annex Meeting Protocol:

MEETING OF ADHOLA COMMUNITY IN KAMPALA HELD TODAY 12TH JULY, 2017 AT NATIONAL THEATRE.

AGENDA

  1. Prayer
  2. Remarks based on the President’s Proposal
  3. Reactions to the Proposal.
  4. Resolution.

MINUTES

  1. Prayer by Tefro Ochieng Brian
  2. Opening Remarks from Lazarus Oketch.

CREATING BUDAMA DISTRICT ON PRESIDENT MUSEVENI’S PROPOSAL FOR JOPADHOLA AND GIVING TORORO DISTRICT TO ITESOS:-

Concerns raised:-

  1. We Jopadhola ask Mr. Museveni, what happened to previous reports from Dr. Kiyonga’s commission, Byabakama’s commission and other commission that was instituted under Presidential directives?

2.Why change from the previous positions where Mukujju district was granted to the people of Tororo County (Itesos).

  1. Jopadhola are a Mother tribe in Tororo – why would you give away the District Headquarters to Itesots now? After ignoring all the reports for 11 years??.
  2. We are aware of influence peddling from Teso Parliamentary Caucus. Where the game of numbers has caused all these sudden change of mind and opting for illegalities.
  3. The integrity of the Surveyors, who appointed them, their names and who supervised them? Boundary opening must be supervised by leaders.

RESOLUTIONS

  1. Contrary to what we expect, we shall go a long Journey to defend our Mother land and the greater Teso people will never hold that District unless when we are all dead.
  2. The Japadholas never asked for the district, so no district shall be accepted by the Jopadholas.
  3. We tasked Mr. President to tell the Jopadholas what he is going to do with the Mukujju district he granted to in 2005.
  4. If Mr. Museveni is talking of creating Budama district, then we demand for the old Boundary with East Budama (Tororo County) inclusive – Bordering Kenya, Bugishu and Busoga in its original form.
  5. Since Teso Parliamentary Caucus resolved to back/support the East budama (Tororo County) People, we the Jopadholas call upon the greater Luo people to come and stand with us especially Members of Parliament from Lango, Acholi and West Nile.
  6. We are aware that Mr Museveni tried to extinguish the Acholis – Part of Luo – He even said that we Luos are mad people and for that matter, we are ready for war.
  7. We need to know how Mr. Museveni grants disputes, based on requests?, tribe? reward for support to NRM? or through Defiance?
  8. We are aware that Mr. Museveni has been planning genocide in Padhola for long because of his hate for Luo people but we want to assure him that we are ready for anything.
  9. Going forward, no Japadhola shall be allowed to meet Mr. Museveni anymore, or else that person shall be burnt alive. On the same note, Mr. Museveni should not step in Padhola for any activity any more.

It is a well known fact that we Jopadholas, are scattered all over the Country, we have MPs representing different groups in many Constituencies, but we have never claimed ownership of those constituencies or districts, like is the case in Buikwe, Mayuge, Bugiri, Namayingo and Kayunga.

We also warn our Members of Parliament that should they fail to defend this, we are recalling all of them from Parliament by invoking the Constitution.

Dr. Kizza Besigye’s advice for termination of the NRM!

If you ever want the clear advice to bring down the dictatorship of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who now acts and lives like he owns the Republic Uganda. Than if you want to get rid of that and want to use the advice of Forum for Democratic Change founder and former Presidential Candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye. Than his words and inspirational words should be for you. He explains the whole story and the whole theft of the state and how it was built around the President. How Museveni has taken all the institutions and the state is embedded with him. But that we already knows, therefore I have taken the part that people should listen to and use. The true defiance and defy the Museveni state, so that there are possible a peaceful transition from his rule. Where the state doesn’t belong to Museveni or the Movement, but to the people. The Citizens has a government who cares about delivery and not if Museveni get an expensive enough airplane or helicopter. Take a look!

Outtake from the Press Conference of Dr. Kizza Besigye today:

Regardless of what the regime does, the people of Uganda are definitely closing in to take back their power and embark on a TRANSITION to a new dispensation.

The NRM/Museveni Junta has no legitimacy to amend the Uganda Constitution as it’s planning to do. This will be an activity of the TRANSTION PROCESS.

Immediate task: Termination of the NRM/Museveni Junta:

The following needs to be done to terminate the Junta’s control of our country:

1) Intensify the “awakening campaign”, for most Ugandans to become active in the processes of achieving a transition. Everyone has a role to play in achieving this.

2) Forming activist networks to make it possible to act together and to be coordinated.

3)Everyone seeking a democratic transition should take deliberate actions, individually or in concert with others to disempower and break down the Junta. Each one’s actions, however small, contribute significantly towards the desired change.

4) Public servants, including those in the security and military are called upon to join the struggle for democratic transition.

5) In coordination with other political and civil society formations, we’ll soon start various activities that will disempower and bring the, now fragile, Junta to an end.

The transition:

A transition process will start when the Junta ceases the control of the state- either, through popular actions or a dialogue process.

The key activities of the transition period are:

1) Government of National Unity.

2) A comprehensive review of the Constitution.

3) Rebuilding State institutions to ensure transparency in recruitment and a national character, a high standard of performance and public accountability; non-partisan character; high standard of discipline and professionalism etc.

4) Truth telling, justice and reconciliation.

5) Free and Fair elections” (Dr. Kizza Besigye, 11.07.2017).

The acts of defiance and trying to coordinate the powers to be. Make the state dissolution over the citizens who doesn’t act upon the oppressive measures dropped by the central government. That they does what they can locally to make changes to the state. This done in demonstrations and stop using the state based operations that makes the NRM regime so rich and can rig themselves into power. That they follow a leadership similar to Besigye and other who trying to dismantle the Presidency. For the simplest reason of getting democracy and getting rid of the dictatorship of Museveni. These words of Besigye should be seen as the guidelines for the patriots and the ones who wants the Republic run by elected men, and not selected men by the NRM. This is how it is now.

The NRM acts like they own the nation and the state, the State is controlled from the State House and the orders are from there. There aren’t anything done without the State House involved, that isn’t a healthy state. That is a Banana Republic and an undemocratic state where one-voice control it all. There is time for change, it has been a long time for change. This cannot only be done by the freedom fighter Besigye, but has to happen by the will and acts of the people. The people have to say, enough is enough. The impunity, the theft and the ignorance of needs of the people is enough. Time to stand-up and be together in the struggle for just ice, liberty and accountability. For a regime who wants to deliver government services and also give taxation with representation. Something that isn’t done now by this government and the President. Peace.

Opinion: It’s total silence not defiance anymore

Dr. Kizza Besigye Quote Outspend

The Campaign of Defiance is dead, because the compliance has sunk the ship of Defiance that we’re ushered in with the Presidential Campaign of 2015/2016 of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and for the Presidential Candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye. The rigged and fraudulent election went down, the President since 1986 President Yoweri Museveni triggered election victory with 100% in dozens of districts and acted vicious in others; that are known opposition strongholds like Kampala, Wakiso and others. Therefore the FDC and Besigye should have and could have grievances on the methods of suppression of the votes.

Besigye’s campaign of defiance was a grand idea in the darkness of an oppressive regime under the National Resistance Movement. The NRM has for decades and during previous elections used public funds, used the state and security organizations to spread fear instead of free and fair election. As well as hiring fellow cronies in the Electoral Commission that we’re working directly on orders for the Movement instead of securing the popular vote, as well as using the Police Force and the Army to show where the loyalty should be, also gifts of soaps, food and small fees to take part of rallies in the districts. This has been NRMs way of spreading loyalty and fear mixed together.

So the Defiance campaign was a good idea, to defy the rigged system and state apparatus that has eaten the whole plate and only follows orders of loyal cronies of Museveni. That in itself was genuine and straight-forward plan from Besigye, only if more of the citizens and the party he was apart of really believed in it. As with time the defying plans has been silenced, the fighting the machine and corrupt behaviour of the state has turned silent.

MbabaziTDA110915P1

The FDC and the defiance after the failing Election Petition of the Go-Forward and Amama Mbabazi in Supreme Court, the FDC and Besigye hasn’t had the levels of defiance in them or tried to defy the structures that validates the regime. The FDC has turned into compliance as the swearing-in of Museveni happen and the Members of Parliament we’re sworn-in after the fraudulent election. It was topped when certain MPs went into Shadow-Parliament and legitimized the Movement.

So with this the FDC themselves did comply with Museveni and his fellow cronies instead of defying the ruler. They went into the chambers made sure they got paid and later trying to follow the lead of Besigye isn’t believable. That the same men and woman who easily take the small-change at the Parliament and later goes to FDC Prayers is playing to games.

The Short-Con is the Shadow-Cabinet and validating the rule of Museveni to make sure their pockets are filled and that their MPs respectability is fixed so their families and friends are secured. But with this they are forgetting the long-term damage to be parts of Movements skin-democracy.

The Long-Con is that with the sharing parts of the skin-democracy and playing the game of the freedom fighters while not really working the cause. So the long-con is some of the FDC leadership roles right now, only patching the hurt, but not trying to rebuild.

FDC 05.05.2016 Planned March

The Defiance Campaign was about defying the Movement… something that the FDC didn’t do, which is complicated and also lacking of moral support from the FDC while he was serving time in Moroto and Luzira. They might show up to gates of the prison and even say publicly that they condemn the Police Force actions against the democratic and rights to assemble as an opposition party.

So the plan of Defiance wasn’t supposed to be one-man band, Besigye wasn’t supposed to carry it on his own. Besigye weren’t alone as we could see youths, P-10 Groups and FDC-Diaspora we’re supportive efforts. You had and still have Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Gen. David Sejusa. Still, they have very few others who have been under fire at the same level without trading their souls, there is Ingrid Turinawe and Doreen Nyanjura has fought battles without much to gain.

That the silence in general should be worrying as the Police Force are continuing to battle with Besigye, his house is still besieged and the man is monitored every movement. If he breaks the barrier and creates public excitement, than it’s straight into detention or police brutality cases towards the crowds that surge the man.

Besigye should be free, the country should be free, but the silence isn’t saving anything. The silence has settled the defiance campaign and the mentality of the defiance agenda. They didn’t build momentum enough to stop the daily life and hurt the business of the movement. The defiance didn’t stop the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) from collecting VAT or stop exports of fuel. The Defiance didn’t stop the UPDF from getting new recruits or any other possible monetary deficiency the campaign could do. Just like the shops stopping trading as the shop-keepers we’re even detained for doing so, because it hurt the taxation and trade that the Movement needs to run their merry-go-round of graft and embezzlement of public funds.

The Defiance could have worked if the FDC and Besigye had gotten the momentum and had the public will behind them, not the half-ready pile of work, sort of like the way the Police Force in Uganda picks up intelligence as they see fit in forged police case. The FDC could have used the anger and frustration of the public, the citizens who feel used.

So the May Protest this year we’re starting of profound messages that the citizens we’re on the road of pressing the government. So much we’re ready as they remembered the recent thieving of their future from the Movement yet again, the wounds we’re fresh. Still the army had been in the streets, the Police Force we’re targeting the opposition and also civil society offices we’re attacked.

FDC Youth 14.03.2016

The people shouldn’t be silenced as the Christmas season are in line, the FDC cannot carry this alone, not that all of them wanted the defiance; they wanted the easy compliance life of the pseudo-opposition instead of a fighting defying organization that could get rid of the militarized movement that been running it since the 1980s. That should be KEY. That should be the goal of the FDC; instead many went into legitimizing it.

So the silenced is understandable, Besigye and his trials cannot be of only him and it isn’t, but it is many who has given in and went back to business-as-usual. Besigye could have more support from the FDC NEC, but he hasn’t. They don’t have the backbone and the wish to succeed. They gave in when it was going against the grain. They we’re risking it all and couldn’t. While Besigye is again under a “treason” charge as others who are questioning the Movement; the others are walking free and without any Court Orders in their name.

It’s not like the man who took the power by the gun want to leave silent or let it go easy, he fought a brutal bush-war. Now he has a big-army and guerrillas of M23, Museveni got allies of USA and Russia dropping arms in his favour so he can suppress his people. Citizens can fight this, but they cannot only rely on Besigye. Besigye only has power if the people are behind him. If the people are working with to dismantle the regime, but the silent obedient citizens are changing an illegitimate regime. Civil disobedience and systematic effort to discontinue the regime would be true defying the Movement. Instead the silence is what is running the tides as 2017 are coming around the corner. Peace.

Dr. Kizza Besigye’s Independence Day Celebration Message on the 54th Independence Day (09.10.2016)

besigye-09-10-2016

Under a normal political situation, a nation’s day of independence should be euphoric: citizens and leaders alike join together to celebrate their triumph overcolonialism, remembering the day when they became a nation led and governed by their own with their mandate.

Frankly, Uganda’s independence heroes had a natural and legitimate right to free Uganda from a century of British dominance. Colonialism had many unacceptable effects that took away many citizenship rights; political rights to determine who governs them, economic rights to determine who controls their resources and use them equitably and have control over state institutions that served the rulers than the people. The most pernicious effect of colonialism was the control of the mind and distortion of our culture creating in the people a slave mentality.

In 1962 however, we inherited a functioning, though enclave, economy with an effective transport (road and rail) system, sufficient hydro electric power supply, a sizeable extractive and manufacturing industry, a strong agricultural sector and functioning social services.

Post colonial Uganda has however not only maintained the inherited political system that denies citizens the fundamental rights and freedoms and maintained the slavery mentality maintaining a master – slave relationship , it has also destroyed the enclave economy, destroyed agricultural production , infrastructure, social services and the extractive and manufacturing industry. It also introduced and entrenched corruption, nepotism, tribalism, cronyism etc. As a result, Uganda’s 54 years have been marked by : Political instability (no leader has handed power to another leader), violence, a failed economy and social strife. The duty of our people now therefore to reclaim the country to get back our rights, freedoms and resources through struggle and hence the DEFIANCE CAMPAIGN; the people’s non violent struggle. This will lead to a post NRM transition in which we shall carry out Constitutional Reforms, Rebuild State Institutions, engage in Truth Telling, Accountability and Reconciliation followed by Free and Fair elections.

As Ugandans, we have a solemn duty to reverse the plunder and destruction of our country. We must realise though that this call to national duty is not a call to an easy task. It has to start with changing people’s mindset and perceptions about national and state power relationships. The process can only be difficult if people submit. We have to defy and refuse to cooperate with the dictator. The more we cooperate, the more he enjoys the use of tools of coercion and maintains the illegitimate rule over us.

Luckily, like it has been in all societies where people have had a demand for standing up for their rights to defy and defeat dictatorship, Ugandans are resiliently focusing their energies on dismantling NRM and Mr. Museveni dictatorship. I see many organised groups of Ugandans that have taken on the call to bring about change in our country. We can only join them. Then Ugandans will truly celebrate independence.

Col.(Rtd) Dr. Kizza Besigye
People’s President

Redefining the history of “freedom”: Detainment Spree!

hope-magazine-54th-independence

Happy 54th Independence celebrations. I salute all Ugandans and congratulate you on this auspicious occasion” – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

Today, the National Resistance Movement and their junta regime under President Musveni is supposed to celebrate 54 years of Freedom and Liberty from the British Empire. Today there are supposed to be both Celebration Parties from the Government, but also the Opposition Party Forum for Democratic Change, something they even asked permission from the Police Authorities. Instead they are either behind house-arrest or like Dr. Kizza Besigye who tried to leave his home in Kasangati, Wakiso District; where taken from his gates and the put in the notorious “black van” or “torture van” and reported to spend the day at the Naggalama Police Station in Mukono. Something that has happen frequently in the recent months.

luuka-09-10-2016

Just as the NRM and their President are celebrating giving away awards to the Uganda Cranes and other dignitaries on this day in Luuka District. The Police are house-arresting several leaders in the FDC, because they fear the level of popularity and their connection with the people that will make the current leadership look weak.

The ironic about this is that Independence Day are celebrated by the Authorities using active colonial laws to oppress citizens who doesn’t validate the ruling regime and their methods of staying in power. This happens as Lord Mayor of Kampala Erias Lukwago and Hon. Allan Ssewanyana has been arrested as well.

katwe-09-10-2016

In Katwe, Kampala the FDC’s Ingrid Turinawe and Hon. Geoffrey Ekanya we’re arrested by the Police as they started to have their own independent Celebration in the area.

But the President himself is priding himself with the army and Police in Luuka, because it’s not like he can get a lot of people to surround himself anymore because of popularity as the fatigue of his greed and depleting state of affairs.

besigye-09-10-2016

So the freedom that President Museveni provides is just if he is given loyalty or offers it, either because the citizen doesn’t matter or the person is not a threat to his existence of power. That proves the limited vision of liberty and justice under the current NRM regime and their force of aggravated assaults on the true independence of Uganda. Uganda should celebrate their liberation from the giant empire of United Kingdom. They might got rid of the control from London, but the control of Okello House of Entebbe or State House in Kampala isn’t that much better. They are still monitoring and controlling the civil society and impunity towards their own citizens… acting and using laws that we’re made under colonial times to silence the voices who wanted liberty back then from Whitehall.

Medals are given to these men it’s reported from the Uganda Media Centre:

uganda-cranes-medals-1978-p1uganda-cranes-medals-1978-p2

The President shouldn’t congratulate, he is late and he doesn’t care of liberties and freedoms of his own, only about himself and his elite that has risen while he took power. Peace.

Déjà Vu’: The Kampala Metropolitan Police doesn’t have common sense when it comes to Besigye!

Besigye 25.07.2016 P2

It’s is a déjà vu’ for Dr. Kizza Besigye today as he must have felt it, yet again entering Makindye Court to answer yet another case in-front of another judge; The Judge must really like Posho, because the charge was soft and gooey. Even ACP Polly Namaye claimed the infamous law Public Order Management Act on the detaining and stopping Besigye from attending the Tuesday Prayer at Najjankumbi Headquarters in Kampala on the 4th April 2016.

As the Police at that time called it a planned procession through Metropolitan Kampala as he was driving from Kasangati through the town. That day he was planning to cross Mulago toward the Central Kampala, but as Police Commanders under orders of Kampala Metropolitan Commander Andrew Felix Kaweesi. Then his car was whisked away as he was taken to Old Kiira Road Police Station. This was as he had disobeyed Police Orders at a Roundabout towards Kalerwe not far from Mulago. So the Police had already decided to detain him!

Besigye Jinja Road 25.07.2016

Now today he entered the Makindye Court together with Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago at his side, to address the court of the unlawful behavior and disobeying police orders in April 2016. Apparently the earlier trial dates are showing that the Government defense of the case was manufactured and wasn’t clear. As the State-Witness on the 22nd May when addressing the court was even contradicting himself and wasn’t really saying anything considerate about the case. For instance at one second he was a higher level officer in the Army before becoming Police, later he countered that statement with saying he never we’re in the Army. If that is the truth than he had a hard time becoming an officer in the army, when he never was there! Therefore the evidence of the crime we’re properly dismissed at Makindye on the 25th July 2016. This proves that the Police Force and Government have wasted lots of time creating issues instead of actually governing.

So the continued aggression from the state came quickly as the word of the dismissal and public walked and greeted Besigye in the Central of Kampala. This was not accepted by the government and Police. The Police still under Andrew Felix Kaweesi, had to silence the brief greeting the public. As the “procession” made-up by random people and supporters shows the popularity of the FDC leader.

Therefore today’s activity from the Metropolitan Police must feel back to the normal as he quickly from leaving the Makindye Court we’re taken to Jinja Road Police Station; while he car we’re towed away from the place in town he we’re picked-up by the Police. So the reality is that the Police is creating a problem; instead of erasing problems. They claimed his car was shoddy and a DMC or a Defect Automobile (Dangerous Mechanical Condition). So the White Toyota Land Cruiser been the criminal passing town and apparently the driver or driven by Besigye. So they couldn’t charge him with procession, I am sure the Police Officer wasn’t sure how to write that; as the Police Officers have written that wrong before.

Besigye 25.07.2016 Jinja Road

At the Jinja Road Police Station the detained politician and arch-nemesis of Museveni, Besigye we’re spending time with loyal allies in Lord Mayor Lukwago, Wafula Oguttu, Hon Amuriat, Hon. Geoffrey Ekanya and Ingrid Turinawe. As he we’re also collecting his statement on disobeying police orders, while his car we’re lucky to be claimed to be a DMC, while the footage on NBS and NTV of the matter shows the “damage” is fiction from the Police Officers to find reasons to detain him again and create new possible trial dates to stop him from attending and questioning the rule of law in the Nation.

So the phony and laughable perfect IGP Kayihura has yet another question about the man so-called fighting him. As he under his leadership tormenting Besigye another day at one of his Police Stations in the Central Uganda; one of the Police Stations Besigye knows well. Surely one of the places he should have wall where he could use chalk to imprint how many times he has been detained there. So IGP Kayihura must be proud of Commander Kaweesi for yet another time finding a solution to silence Besigye, with the charge of DMC. The car that the Police have broken before in 2016 to tear-gas the ones sitting in the car! Did you forget that, yes you did; and at one point Kayihura even promised a new car to Besigye, like that would happen?

Besigye 25.07.2016

Well, let’s be clear, this a phony charge, in the levels of impunity of the Calvary, the Kifeesi Police who has respect and want’s to silence the opposition with the detention of vocal opposition and men of defiance against the status quo of those who are dropping funds after NRM Cronies in scam-bailouts. That is the ones that are detained today and the conflict of justice for all is not there; it is only justice for elite and the men kissing Mzee’s ring. The rest can end-up behind bars, beaten by the police or shedding tears after shooting at the public with teargas.

This will continue as the NRM-Regime cannot help them, they are on sail-boat at the middle of sea, far from land without any wind and trying to find oars to row into land; but they are hidden behind deck and the Mzee doesn’t seem to know because his vision doesn’t say so. Therefore the men who are lost at sea are waiting for accurate statement and direction to the oars while the problem of no wind let them left at sea instead of getting into shade at the harbor. Peace.

The People’s President produced in Nakawa Court yet again; for his trial date for the ‘treason’ charge against him

Nakawa 29.06.2016 P1

Today another day the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) former Presidential Candidate we’re actually produced in Nakawa Court for his conduct during the Campaign and Post-Election period. Where the State and the Republic of Uganda, acts of treason have occurred, like a wildflower spring in the midst of house-arrest and detained for existing in Uganda and driving in the notorious van to Naggalama Police Station in Mukono.

Nakawa 29.06.2016 P3

The reality of today is that he was in court addressing his own concern and trial of the charge of treason. Not with lawyers or spokesmen for him. As the FDC supporters and many of the leadership we’re not allowed in, as certain of the leadership as before we’re arrested before arriving. Ingrid Turinawe was arrested at Spear Motors as she was addressing the media. As well as Joram Kyenjojo Mwesige and Davis Kamutima also got detained before arriving towards the court today; together the trio we’re all posted today by the Police Force at the Jinja Road Police Station. Another who also was arrested the Spear Motors was the newly elected MP Hon. Geoffrey Ekanya.

Before the trial at the Nakawa Court the Police Commander and the Police Officers went brutally on the media and even beating the camera-men and journalist who was covering the trial as Besigye arrived and came into the area. For instance one of the journalists assaulted by the police we’re Daily Monitor’s Abubakar Lubowa. The Police commander in charge of today’s brutal events we’re Siraj Bakaleke.

Nakawa 29.06.2016 P2

The words of Besigye as the trial stated the effect of being in prison and the way the charges been put, as the favorable for the Police and not for him as a citizen. As he said: “He thought he was innocent until he was proven guilty, but prison authorities are already treating him like he is guilty”. As he also said on his campaign that has been a torn in the government flesh: “The struggle continues. Encourage our people not to lose hope. If I get bail, the defiance campaign will resume immediately”.

As Lord Mayor Lukwago stated later today:

“The State, that has always treated Dr. Besigye as a terrorist, shamelessly reneged on their earlier commitment to wind up their investigations before today’s court sitting. We hope the Magistrate will be assertive on the issue of our brother’s rights when he visits Luzira prisons early next week, as he has undertaken. It’s also our prayer that the High Court will expeditiously dispose off the bail application fixed for 6th July, in case it’s not Eid day” (Erias Lukwago, 29.06.2016).

Nakawa 29.06.2016 P4

With this in mind, the Police Force have adjourning the Treason Case for yet another trial date until the 13th July, where the Police and the State will continue where they left off and continue the charade of masquerade of lawfulness in the matter. While Besigye is still lingering as suspect of foul behavior against the republic as the common criminal he is it seems, and not the opposition leader and people’s president. The reality of the matter is that this is stalling until stop caring about the rigged election and wants to move on, just like Gen. Mugisha Muntu spoke of late.
