Sudan: Old Omdurman Resistance Committees Coordination – Lifting of Old Omdurman Sit-in (11.07.2022)

Our victorious people:

We begin by congratulating our great people on the blessed Eid al-Adha; may God bring it back to our nation while it is under democratic civil rule and in a free and just homeland where we do not hear the sound of the gun.

This Eid arrives as all of our people are engaged in the battle of resistance against the military rule, and we offer each day a martyr to become one of the stars of freedom in the sky of our country. This is the battle in which our people employed a variety of tried and true methods of peaceful resistance, starting with processions and barricades and concluding with sit-ins in all the cities of Khartoum State after the great 30th of June march. Our sit-ins symbolized the reclaiming of the land and its liberation from the military, as the soldiers retreated in defeat before an unarmed people chanting for freedom, justice, and peace.

Our resistant people:

The sit-in in old Omdurman, extending from Al-Azhari Square to Wad Oro Stop, has accomplished a step on the path of struggle and the ongoing revolution project; It provided a safe space for discussion among the various forces of the revolution, and we were able to create dialogues that strengthened the ties between all components of the forces of the revolution, which serves our sacred goal of uniting all forces of the revolution. And now we announce the lifting of Old Omdurman sit-in, so that the military coup authority realizes that the sit-ins are weapons directed at them, and we return to it while we are more organized, united, and powerful, carrying with us the accumulation of revolutionary experience in the resistance and the lessons of the experience of these sit-ins politically and on the ground, until the day we permanently end the coup and overthrow its authority and restore the path of civil democratic transformation. We thank the residents and people of the neighborhoods around the sit-in, as well as the Sudanese who supported it.

Sudan: Khartoum City Resistance Committees Coordination – Lifting of Al Jawda Sit-in (08.07.2022)

Our brave and courageous people, we address you on this blessed day, the Day of Arafa, which will be followed by the first day of Eid Al-Adha, may God bring it back to our nation and our country while under total civil rule that puts an end to the bloody military coup in which over a hundred people were killed, thousands were injured, and hundreds were arrested. We crowned the sacrifices with the earthquake of the thirtieth of June, which shook the pillars of the coup regime to offer a fragile proposal comparable to what remained of the coup regime. June 30 march extended to cities sit-ins, continuing the growing mass revolutionary tide, through the tried and innovative peaceful revolutionary methods of our people. The sit-in was a dagger in the hearts of the enemies of the revolution, claiming of lands, roads and arenas to express the rejection of the regime. The sit-in served as a forum for revolutionary discussions, solidarity among revolutionary masses, and the exchange of revolutionary opinions on the future of the revolution and its challenges.

Aside from the negative impact on Al Jawda Hospital due to the location of the sit-in, and taking into consideration the the residents of Al-Dayum and the areas adjacent to the sit-in square and to facilitate the rituals of the blessed Eid Al-Adha, such as visitations, in addition to the decline of the decentralized revolutionary movement from various neighborhoods to a centralized and continuous form.

Therefore, we, the Khartoum City Resistance Committees Coordination, announce the lifting of Al Jawda Sit-in, and we are all confident that we will return to the weapon of the sit-ins, more organized, united, and stronger, having benefited from the experiences of the past and the practice of the present, and looking forward to the best political and field performance, toward achieving the freedom, peace, and justice aspirations of our honorable people.

Sudan: The Unified Office of Doctors – Statement – RE: Health condition of the detained protestor Saif El-Islam Esam El-Din Mohammed (07.07.2022)

The revolutionary Saif El-Islam Esam El-Din Mohammed is currently imprisoned by the coup authorities, while his health condition can only be described as critical.

Over the past couple of days Saif El-Islam has been transfered to a hospital in the Capital. Upon examination it was evident that his condition is unstable, requiring hospitalization and close monitoring.

Saif El-Islam was referred to a different hospital for laboratory testing and necessary imaging to confirm his diagnosis, and was to be returned to continue his care at the first hospital. Upon completion he was taken back to prison and never returned to his treating physician.

Regarding the health status of Saif El-Islam, we at the Unified Doctors office assert the following:

1- Imprisoning Saif El-Islam in his current health condition cannot be justified. He should immediately be transferred to a hospital to receive necessary care.

2- Saif El-Islam suffers from physical and psychological ailments requiring multidisciplinary, comprehensive medical care.

3- We hold the coup authorities responsible for his health condition, and we will work hand in hand with the Emergency Lawyers group as well as our other partners to shed light on all violations against this revolutionary.

Sudan: Sudanese Professionals Association – Joint Statement (06.07.2022)

Out of historical responsibility and to contribute to defending the gains of the glorious December revolution, and out of concern for the future of this country, and out of loyalty to the pure blood that was sacrificed and dear souls lost, and as an affirmation of our adherence to the main principles and objectives of the Sudanese revolution.

Sudan: Khartoum City Resistance Committees Coordination – As The Revolution Advances, The Coup General Maneuvers (04.07.2022)

The Sudanese revolution continues its valiant victories, for which it has paid in advance with pure blood and precious souls since its inception, to reassure the world that this nation is impervious to submission and defeat, and that this revolution will achieve its noble goalds regardless of who approves or disapproves. this demonstrated in the 30th of June’s massive mass movement, which culminated in sit-ins in cities despite the violence, repression, and violations leveled against the mass movement.

Our Resistant People:

The leader of the coup, Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, came out with his insistence on the false illusion that he is the guardian of the future of the Sudanese state, while he is unaware that the future of this country is drawn by the martyrs, the wounded, the missing, the raped, the detainees, the displaced, the refugees and the vast majority of Sudanese women and men who decided for this country the path of freedom, peace, justice and democratic civil transition.

The masses of the people of Sudan:

One of the greatest goals of this revolution is to restore respect to the Sudanese military institution, which the National Islamic Front tampered with to such an extent that it made this confused man one of its high-rank officers, and he does not deserve even the mere honor of being a soldier in it. The Sudanese armed forces are an institution that preserves, not dissipates, and protects, not threatens, and it is the obligation and responsibility of all honorable Sudanese to remove this brutal coup group and to reform this institution and create a united, professional national army that distance itself from political and commercial activities.

The revolutionaries:

Therefore, we, the Khartoum City Resistance Committees Coordination, say to coup leader Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan and his supporters that the path before you is clear, not for a Security and Defense Council or any other attempt to reposition in the future of the Sudanese state, but rather towards the gallows for the crimes you committed against this great nation.

Sudan: Forces of Freedom and Change – Committee on Communication and External Relations – Important statement about (IGAD meeting) – (05.07.2022)

We followed by denouncing the invitation addressed by the head of the coup council, Lieutenant-General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, to the heads of the member states of the IGAD Secretariat for an extraordinary meeting. It will be held today, Tuesday, July 5, in Nairobi, the capital of the sisterly Republic of Kenya.

We renew our appreciation and respect for the Republic of Kenya, its people, the Kenyan presidency, and all the peoples and heads of IGAD member states. We would like to express our rejection of the issuance of this invitation by General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, as he is the head of a government that is not recognized by the regional and international communities. And to ask at the same time about the legitimacy of accepting this invitation by the heads of state of the organization in conjunction with the role played by the organization as a facilitator within the framework of the tripartite initiative in which it participates with the United Nations and the African Union.

It also coincided with the freezing of the African Union – which is the continental organization with reference in these matters – Sudan’s membership in its activities, which necessarily applies to the activities of IGAD.

We direct our statement to the heads of IGAD member states. We appreciate the role they play to help Sudan find solutions to its current problems. We ask them, within the framework of their prescribed role in maintaining peace, security and stability in the region, and establishing and protecting the basic rights of its people, to:

First: Condemning the fateful 25th of October coup and rejecting all the decisions and measures that resulted from it.

Second: Condemning the crimes committed by the coup regime in Sudan and the excessive violence it uses against defenseless citizens.

Third: To declare, beyond any doubt, that the meeting of the heads of state of the IGAD group with the head of the coup regime in Sudan does not mean, in any way, recognition of him or his coup regime.

And that the goal of meeting with him is to send a strong message to him to comply with the desire of the Sudanese people and hand over power to civilians and the withdrawal of the military from the political process in line with the founding charters of the IGAD organization that upholds the values of freedom, justice, democracy and human rights.

In conclusion, the Nairobi meeting is a real test of the credibility of the IGAD organization and its seriousness in confronting everything that would constitute a threat and a violation of the founding values and charters of the organization, and its role as an acceptable and capable mediator in resolving crises and conflicts that the region is exposed to from time to time.

Opinion: I don’t trust Al-Burhan or Hemeti …

Today’s Press Conference by President Al-Burhan doesn’t seem legit to me. There is more behind this move, which gives me a reason to believe in President Al-Burhan and Vice-President Hemeti of the Transitional Sovereign Council. The leaders and army commanders, which has made two coups to ensure they consolidated all powers within their ranks.

That Al-Burhan is stepping down from the Tripartite Negotiations and promises a civilian government. While still clinging on power in a Supreme Military Council. That is still having control of the armies and the state militias. They will be their own lords of their profession and not retire after playing both army commanders and heads of state.

Al-Burhan and Hemeti has shown their will for power. They wanted all influence and was willing to takeover after Al-Bashir. These two wanted to hijack the revolution and be celebrated for their first coup d’etat. The second coup d’etat in October last year, which has had public pressure on them for months. A sort of direct protests, processions and industrial actions, which has been violently cracked down, civilians killed and leaders of the civilian entities arrested.

It is hard to see which civilians who will participate in the talks with IGAD, AU and UN. There is no unified movement and direct leadership that can suddenly fill the void. There are the Resistance Committees, Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC), Sudanese Congress Party, Sudanese Communist Party and National Umma Party are all viable parties, which could be seen as civilian representatives. However will they work together? Will they coordinate or find new ways to negotiate and be instead of Sovereign Council in the Tripartite negotiations?

I hope the Resistance Committee’s own Revolutionary Charter for People’s Power (RCPP) could be a guiding document. As that is setting the standards of the way forward. We are not sure if that is fitting with the dream of “Supreme Military Council” which is an own creation of the current army commanders. Who is willing to possibly step down… but they still want to have power and control of the army. That says they are not willing to bound totally down. They are not retiring or ceasing out of office.

So, the ones praising and saying this is a wise move of the Sovereign Council. The others who got seats, the militias and warlords who signed off on the second coup d’etat will be a new problem or possibly be part of the “Supreme Military Council”. That’s if the SAF/RSF recognizing them and acknowledge their military stature in Darfur, Blue Nile State and South Kordofan.

Certainly, today’s action is significant. Nevertheless, the devil is in the details. I don’t believe Al-Burhan and Hemeti would leave office easily. Especially, when they have tasted power and had close to total power since the first coup d’etat in 2019. Now in July 2022 they are suddenly stepping down for their destiny…

Well… I don’t trust these guys. I really don’t, I wouldn’t be shocked if they only stepped down temporarily and when things get more shiny. They will do another coup d’etat. When the times are getting better and have stability. The likes of Al-Burhan and Hemeti will return to make a third coup d’etat in Khartoum. Seal of the city and arrest the civilian leaders. Therefore, these sorts of army commanders are conning and doesn’t back down.

I just don’t believe these guys… they have a plan and sooner or later they will return again. Just wait and see… these guys are wise and know when to strike. Therefore, I am reluctant to celebrate and wonders what is their real scheme ahead. Peace.

Sudan: Forces of Freedom and Change – Press Release (03.07.2022)

We call for the diversity of forms of qualitative and mass resistance and for unity among its forces.

– The civil front is born from the unity of the field work of the resistance.

– Excessive violence, murders, and repression of the putschists responsible destroyed the political process.

We say with confidence that the October 25, 2021 coup has practically fallen and has died clinically, and what remains is the unity of the forces of the revolution that will bring him to his final resting place. We are confident that the united civil front is born in the midst of the field work of the resistance and its continuous battles and the relentless work of uniting its forces.

June 30 opened the way wide to defeat and overthrow the coup and led to the expansion of all forms of resistance work and the forces of freedom and change support its continuation and development without neglecting any of its forms, especially:

1- The processions and millions of people across the country and in the diaspora, which united the daughters and sons of our people in the countryside and cities.

2- The sit-ins in neighborhoods, cities and public squares with tight coordination between all the forces of the revolution to make it successful and solve the issues it faces.

3- Broad solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the solemn funerals for them, processions and demonstrations to commemorate their memory, and caring for the wounded.

4- Continuous provocation in neighborhoods and roads to restrain the security services, taking into account the daily needs of citizens.

5- Specific strikes and escalating preparations to reach civil disobedience and political strike as soon as possible through unified coordination between the revolutionary forces.

6- Extensive campaigns for the release of detainees, listing their names, and extending them to human rights organizations.

7- Putting the names of the martyrs on the roads and institutions in all the cities and villages of Sudan and placing their pictures that unite the Sudanese men and women without regard to geography and ethnicity, and consolidating the principles of national unity and citizenship without discrimination.

8- Serious work to establish a united civil front that transcends the sterile differences of the revolutionary forces and enables our people to defeat and overthrow the coup and the duty to establish this front now, not tomorrow.

Political process:

– Excessive repression, murders and mass arrests by the coup authority are responsible for destroying the political process.

– The coup leaders are waging war on the people Using the utmost levels of violence and brutality, a confrontation in which our people will win and seize their full and undiminished civil and democratic authority.

To the Armed Forces and Other Regular Forces:

– The coup not only harmed our country, but also the armed and other regular forces and brought them into a confrontation with the people the time has come to end this confrontation by defeating the coup and heading towards establishing a democratic civil authority and building a single professional army.

Regional and International Community:

– We call on you to denounce the crimes of the putschists and hold them accountable and the moral inequality between the perpetrators of the crime and its victims. We also call on you to exercise all forms of pressure and support for the right of our people to establish their democratic civil authority, and to demand the protection of civilians and peaceful activity.

Glory and eternity to the people of Sudan and their valiant resistance
