Lira turned into a “battlefield” as FDC entered town!

Yet another day of this, as the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) came into Lira town as part of their National Tour, which have turned violent. As the aggressive attacks from the authorities happens at every junction. The Police Force haven’t let the party organise a rally, a conference or even broadcasting at talk-shows on local radios. Only blocked it and served live-bullets, tear-gas and arrests, even tried to abduct and arrest Besigye while on-air.

In Lira was nothing different. As the Police Force came with mambas, tear-gas and live bullets to disperse the crowds. Also, do whatever they could block the radio-show, where Dr. Kizza Besigye was scheduled to attend and appear. This didn’t happen, just like anywhere else.

This story of the troubles of FDC gets old. Not because it isn’t important, but because it is the same story. Just another town, another village and another district. All over the republic, the Police Force is going after and using the Public Order Management Act (POMA). They are using it as a tool to stop the all gathering and deeming them illegal. If not making all opposition movement illegal, like moving from one property to another like Bobi Wine did earlier this month.

However, this shows, why ONLY National Resistance Movement (NRM) can be a national party, the rest have to be fringe parties with smaller bases. As if the FDC tries to build, organize and hold meetings. They are meet with the police brigades, the water-canons, tear-gas and switched of signals of the radios. How could Bosco speak nationwide if the state did this to him? Didn’t think so.

Therefore, the state is deliberately stifling the works of the FDC. No matter if they apply or trying to follow the procedures of the POMA. The state will not sanctions or accept it. Just like the headaches of Bobi Wine to hold concert even on his own property. That is just the way this state is. To stop the Opposition from assembling and even spreading their message, the state fears that. That’s why its using all tactics to silence the opposition and stop them.

In Lira, as in Kitgum and so on. It just continues. As long as Jajja gives them a nudge. Peace.

FDC Opens Party Office in Kitgum and the Calvary caused havoc!

There is something that isn’t right in the Republic. As wherever the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) is opening up Party Offices or holding leadership conferences. It has to be with violent force from the Police Force. Just like yesterday, when the FDC was gracing a local talk show on Tembo FM, the authorities switched off the radio station. So, that the public couldn’t get the information about the opening the next day through the airways.

However, this didn’t stop the party from entering town with the central leadership and access the offices of the Party. Even if it meant, tear-gassing the town of Kitgum. Live bullets and what else the authorities has to offer the opposition party. It shouldn’t be this hard to build a political party and actually try to have district offices in the Republic. But it is, because the state using its resources to follow, monitor and silence the ones who dissent.

Today, was another day of heavy weaponry and tear-gas in a fashion, we have seen elsewhere. Even as the leadership got to meet the local leaders in Kitgum. The hardships and the hassle of opening offices, shows the disregard for a level playing-ground is there. Where every step of the way is a hurdle, where the law-enforcement isn’t there to secure the premises, but instead trying to fight the opposition party away.

The Police was ordered to disperse the crowds, stop the gathering as the opening of office was happening. The public didn’t let go of the idea of actually opening. As they did. But it shouldn’t be like this. Even if this a cycle that continues. Today it was Kitgum in Northern Uganda. Next time its somewhere in Western Uganda or Eastern Uganda, even in one of the municipalities of Kampala. Because, the same rules are put up everywhere and the Police Force have bountifulness of budgets, funds and equipment to go after the opposition.

Therefore, this story is one out of a dozens. There is more to follow, as long as the public accepts it and let the Police Force, the authorities and the orders from above high. All control this and that gives the nod for these actions to continue. Peace.

Uganda Young Democrats: UYD Office Surveillance by Police (25.04.2019)

The Sound of Silence: The continued disruption of Besigye On-Air!

Why does it have to be like this? Where is the justification to always target the radio broadcasts where the former Presidential Candidate and leader within the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Dr. Kizza Besigye attend.

It doesn’t matter in which town, city or parts of Uganda, where the FDC leader is speaking on-air. No matter where, as they have to inform and give indication of their arrival as per request of the Public Order Management Act, the Police Force and the other authorities knows of the movement of the FDC Leader. Therefore, when he goes to Mbale, Jinja or Kabale. The authorities are ready to arrest and take away the signal of the set-radio station.

That is just what happens again and again. It is reoccurring like a smear campaign against the man. Not only assaulting his rights as a human being and political figure, but also the rights of the radio stations to pick who they are broadcasting and interviewing. Because, if it was any of the entitled gentlemen in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) or associates of the President. They would never have arrested them on-air or sealed of the stations because of their presence.

The authorities and the regime cannot be proud of these acts, as they are just devious. They are not clever. It is more of the same and showing the mediocre signs of oppression. The sort of behaviour, which is not democratic. As the democracy is only skin deep, because every decision and every move have to be sanctioned from the Okello House or the State House. Therefore, expect Besigye and the fellow FDC leadership to be under more pressure. Since, the election of 2021 is already gearing up for. Even as we are only in the middle of 2019. Still, the pretext for that is evident. As the NRM has picked their sole candidate and the DP Block is established.

We just have to wait and see where the final destination leads us. What we do know is that the authorities and the state apparatus will continue to assault the opposition. They will persist with this behaviour and do it relentlessly like it is no tomorrow. This is deliberate acts of a coward government, who knows their lack of popularity and has to rule by fear. If they were so great and grandeur. They wouldn’t need to fear the speeches or interviews of Besigye. However, they are and does it, again and again. Peace.

An FDC Leadership Conference in Jinja: Ends with the Calvary causing havoc!

This is not surprising. This is steady business for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) as they where scheduled to meet the FDC leaders of Busoga region in Jinja. To hold a FDC Leadership Conference there, as a part of the ACTION2019 campaign. We know that the Police Force is attacking this party directly, as they have done over years.

Today, the Police Force arrested Dr. Kizza Besigye as he was trying to address the public on-air on the Radio Kira. Where they took him out and also switched off the signal of the radio station. This is what the authorities does to the FDC.

Today was filled with running battles between them, while the Police Force used weapons and tear-gas. The public stood behind the FDC. In a manner, that people could admire. As the Police tried to take the car of Besigye and tow it away. However, the supporters actually took it away from the Police.

What the Police succeeding in doing in Jinja, other than hurting innocent civilians, stopping ordinary business order of the town and ensuring the continued hardships of the FDC. They initially stopped Besigye and blocking many of the FDC central leadership from meeting the leaders of Busoga as scheduled today. And hold the FDC Conference as planned ahead of time.

However, to do internal party conference in Uganda shouldn’t be this hard. The FDC cannot even do internal party work without meeting the Police Force or getting arrested.

This shows the intent of the authorities and how they behave. Even the President can start a rally without any forewarning in a round-about in Kampala, while the opposition parties have to beg to meet or even greet the public on local radios. That is evident yet again.

The is democracy, the NRM Way. Peace.

Uganda: Anti-Corruption Unit – Request for Your Intervention in the Delayed Confirmation of Officers in Acting Capacity and Irregular Recruitment of Inspectorate Officers into the Inspectorate of Government (20.03.2019)

Opinion: Jajja should just bite the bullet…

All of you are crying that Government money does not reach you. The mistake is on your side. With the bullets that NRM sent for you to shoot, you focus on the wrong people. You vote people to Parliament who cannot help you” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the 10th April 2019 at Kampala Women’s Day Celebration

If you would ever wonder if Bosco, the Jajja of the Republic would show mercy or care for thoughts, which is not his own. Put statements like these on the wall. As it shows his shallow mind and his real motivation.

For President Museveni, the Multiparty Democracy was never the ideal. It was always the motive to make the Republic into the vision of the Movement System. Because through that he could control it and own it.

Yoweri has been constant with this and it shows all the time. He is steady on this vision and the move to silence, stop or even hurt the ones that crosses his way. That is what the President does, that is why the President says, he doesn’t give funds too or says even he has taken districts out of the maps. As the public voted for the wrong party. This is something the President has said in the past. Therefore, what he said today isn’t new, just another quote to his narrow-minded world-view.

He blames the public for not getting state services, because they voted for the wrong people. The wrong people, meaning the opposition like Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and FDC MPs in the Kampala Metropolitan Area. The MPs from Kampala there are 4 MPs from FDC, 4 MPs Independent and 1 MP from the Democratic Party (DP). Therefore, the Capital City have voted for everything else, but NRM MPs.

That is what he said today. He did this, as he thinks people have forgotten how little he cared for even giving the public to chance to vote in the General Election of 2015. However, I do and I know didn’t give them much way. That is why the public didn’t regard much for the elections in Wakiso or Kampala during the last elections.

So, Mr. President, your showing your disregard, not only for multiparty democracy, but also for Statesmanship and grace. Instead of showing mercy and solitude to their acts of choosing other people, than your hand-picked cronies. They voted for other representatives, which was their choice. They just happen to other, than the ones who you saw fit at the time. Because, you expect blind submission and love. However, that is not how the world works. This is also why you lost to Sam Kuteesa in 1980 Election, but we don’t need to discuss about that.

Ragga Dee was nothing compared to Lukwago. We know this, but you act like the Golden Boy of Gen. Salim Selah would change the Capital City. But we know differently. Don’t act a fool, Mr. President. But in this case you do.

Maybe, you Mr. President should get better people to represent you and your causes, whatever they are? They are lost in the whirlwind of time and surely, unless eating GAVI funds was a part of the 10 Point Programme. Who knows what your motivation are? Except for running for life and micro-managing every street of the Republic. That is who you are and acts like.

Your showing your lackluster value of peoples choices, of democracy and also of governance. As you are indirectly saying, that your punishing the districts or counties, where the opposition is represented. This in part show how little your mind is and how much of tyrant you are. Since, you cannot must courage to understand, why people don’t love you or your ways. However, that maybe got lost when you stole milk as a kid or when you went to the Bush. Who knows? Only you I suppose.

Surely, the Republic deserve a fair and respectable leader, not someone entitled as you. You think your the only man with a vision, I beg to differ. There are various of people who has a vision for the Republic. They might even get the Republic into the 5th Industrial Revolution…. Peace.

Opinion: Is the FDC breaching the article 71& 72 in the Constitution by its mere existence?

Justice looks for no prize and no price; it is sought for itself, and is at once the cause and meaning of all the virtues. . . . The worst kind of injustice is to look for profit from injustice.” – Marcus Tullius Cicero

Pardon me, but I got to ask a foolish question. Just to prove a point. It is tiring to know, that every single time the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) is trying to convene their party, hold rallies or even meet up. The Police Force is on their tail. The Calvary is hidden behind the bushes, ambushes them with tear-gas, arresting key people and as scheduled programming. Arresting FDC Party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat. As well, as silencing the meetings between the Central Leadership of the Party and Local Leadership.

The Democratic Principle from the 1995 Constitution:

II. Democratic principles.

(i) The State shall be based on democratic principles which empower and encourage the active participation of all citizens at all levels in their own governance”

This is so common, that I got to ask, because the Republic, still has laws. More laws, than just the Public Order Management Act, even if that is more used or accessible, than the Penal Codes. Alas, the Political Parties Act of 2005 article 10 states:

(1) A political party or organisation shall, in its internal organisation, comply with the provisions of the Constitution, in particular articles 71 and 72 of the Constitution”.

So, as the law states that, the key paragraphs of the Constitution is as follows:

71. Multiparty political system.

A political party in the multiparty political system shall conform to the following principles—

(a) every political party shall have a national character;

(b) membership of a political party shall not be based on sex, ethnicity, religion or other sectional division;

(c) the internal organisation of a political party shall conform to the democratic principles enshrined in this Constitution;

(d) members of the national organs of a political party shall be regularly elected from citizens of Uganda in conformity with the provisions of paragraphs (a) and (b) of this article and with due consideration for gender;

(e) political parties shall be required by law to account for the sources and use of their funds and assets;

(f) no person shall be compelled to join a particular party by virtue of belonging to an organisation or interest group.

72. Right to form political organisations.

(1) Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, the right to form political parties and any other political organisations is guaranteed.

(2) An organisation shall not operate as a political party or organisation unless it conforms to the principles laid down in this Constitution and it is registered.

(3) Parliament shall by law regulate the financing and functioning of political organisations”

Why do I mention all, this, well, the FDC cannot convene or meet. They cannot even hold a meaningful meeting in nearly any parts of the Republic without any interference or legal blockade from the state. Today, was just another day of that in Tororo. This is getting old, as these laws I am reciting is the basics. It is the mere justification of this Republic. The Constitution of 1995 and its words of wisdom. It isn’t me as foreigner explaining common sense. This is the laws of the land.

If rule of law mattered to the National Resistance Movement, if the laws had any values, the FDC would have been allowed to meet, greet and strategies. However, that is merely impossible. As every step of the way, the Police is following, the ISO and Flying Squad is on tight leach. Awaiting orders to block, depose and destroy the venue. That is just what they do. All over the Republic.

The NRM wouldn’t do this, if this was a friendly and a party they didn’t see as a threat. Because the NRM and the Police Force, apparently fears the FDC. That is why they have no issues stopping the internal works of the FDC. They are really just disembarking from the Constitution and making their own justifications with the use of the Penal Code and the POMA. At all means, to silence and oppress dissidents.

The Constitution of 1995 with the articles 71 & 72 is fine on paper, the Political Parties Act 2005 article 10 is perfection too, but what has the power to superseded these ones is the POMA. It is evident, again and again.

That is why the FDC must have violated the 71 & 72, because if they haven’t, why is it so darn hard for them to do internal party politics without the coppers knocking on their door?

Peace.

Opinion: If you can silence Museveni’s Guns, then you have a shot for succession!

There is a very obvious reason, why President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is going on a Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) Tour of late. That is to show his force, his power and his army. As long as the President has his army, has his security organizations like ISO, CMI, Flying Squad and the Special Force Command. Now even the LDUs and possible Crime Preventers. The President has so many outfits fighting his battles and defending him. He don’t have to care about the ballot or the will of the people. He has soldiers, spies and police officers fighting his battles anyway.

So, for the ones believing in the ballot, believing that the man of 1986 coup d’etat and never leaving the office. Will leave peaceful, because he suddenly overnight lost to Bobi Wine or Kizza Besigye. Better be smoking or drinking hard, it must be liquid courage, because it is not bloody brilliant. More mere ignorance of who they are fighting.

The President uses all means to stay in power. The ones he cannot compromise or pay-off, he challenge and intimidate, the ones he cannot sensitize and the ones he cannot convert. He kills off and silence. The ones that knows to much and been in to close relations will be kept on payroll, even if they got nothing in government to do. The same with former comrades who needs a pay-check even if their time is over. That is just the way it is.

The President will do whatever to stay in power. Making insults against him criminal, making staging rallies in the same area as him as crime. Making posters on top his a crime. Everything at opposes him is a felony and you will pay for doing so. It is just a matter of time, before you get apprehended and taken care off.

Therefore, the ones believing that the President are playing democracy and would initiate a transition. Is believing in their own juices and the own air their breathing. Because, that is far from reality.

The only way to get rid of Museveni is either by natural death. May, the almighty answer the prayers of plenty who has been suffering during his three decades and leave them be. Alas, it is up to God to know when he is soul is leaving his body. The only other way, except natural death is to do something as special as silencing his GUNS.

That is why he is so militarized. This is the only thing he got, that he does well. The only thing that he can command and actually follows every single word. The President control of the army, the security organizations and the intelligence operations. Are the reason for his steady control of the Republic. So, if someone takes that away from him. Then there is hope. Either a Popular Uprising, at levels where the whole state stagnates and stops functioning. Because, the public is demonstrating so heavy, barricading roads and closing the civil service. That the President and his administration have to step down.

The other way, which is in similar fashion. Is to get the Police, Army and other Security Outfits to do a mutiny, to lay down the weapons or decide to not follow his orders. That they are standing down. They are rebelling and becoming mutineers. That they are standing up for the public and helping to topple and control the government, by using the manners and techniques learned while being part of army, police and other security outfits.

Therefore, the need to SILENCE the GUNS. By any means. That is where the power of Museveni are and has been. Ever since he went to the Bush. His safe-guard, his partner and friend in crime and passion. Has been the gun, the rifle, the ammunition and the guerrilla warfare. That is what has been his staple, been his meal-ticket and his way of getting the Republic under his spell. Using enough of the weapons to silence them all. Fear and respect him, because he got the weapons and if you don’t follow him. You will be dealt with.

So, for you who believes in the ballot, trust me the bullet is his friend. He only ushered in the ballot, to get funding and loans, legitimacy and get great alliances with foreign forces, which could strengthen his grip. Something it has with training of the military, the ones assigned in foreign missions and even imports of army equipment. All, because of the steady need for ballots. Even, if all along, the only measure needed and his loyal weapon.

The GUNS would be there to save the day. The GUNS would there to save tomorrow and beyond. Peace.

Opinion: The Police Force shows Democracy the “Ugandan Way” in Mbarara!

Now, today on the 5th April 2019 in Mbarara, as the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) was holding a meeting with the leaders of the FDC in Kiruhura, Ibanda, Isingiro, Ntungamo and Mbarara.

The Police Force again shown no mercy in the streets of town in Uganda. As Dr. Kizza Besigye and his team entered Mbarara. They used enough water-cannon to make the streets look like it been raining earlier in the day. This was done to get the people away from the convoy of FDC. The Police Force used also live-bullets and threw tear-gas at the public too.

In Kabale, Besigye was yesterday scheduled for a Talk Show on Hope FM. However, the Security Agents cut of the signal and switched off the radio. So, that the FDC leader couldn’t attend the radio show as scheduled. Besigye was meet by the public in Kabale, even as the radio show didn’t go as it was supposed too.

Besigye continued from Kabale to Mbarara today. Where the state continued to follow him and his party, they continue to use violence and methods of oppression against them. Just for showing up and waving hands to a leader like Besigye. Because, the same machinery wouldn’t do this if Bosco or any of his kind stepping up without authorization in Mbarara. We just know that.

Therefore, as the FDC and Besigye was entering Mbarara, the whole chaos, which is very common in the Republic. This together with the rest of the central leadership, who was there to meet the leaders of Greater Mbarara Districts.

Because of the hardships of just holding these meetings. Shows there is a double standard and misgivings. As there never an issue, if the President or his party are holding party functions, alas, if the FDC are doing the same. The tear-gas, water-canons and mambas are directly in the close proximity of the opposition leaders.

This is the democracy, the Ugandan Way, in the image, which the President has set forth over the years in power. Where the other political parties are lucky to hold a meeting, consultation meetings, party work or opening party offices without meeting police officers or security agents of the state. That is how they are and operating. Peace.
