Kayihura: Besigye to be confined to his home until further notice (Youtube-Clip)
“The police have returned to the home of former FDC presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye to restrict his movements again, a few weeks after they ended a 47-day siege on the home. Inspector General of Police General Kale Kayihura told journalists that Dr. Besigye will be confined at his home in Kasangati, Wakiso district with effect from today until further notice. The police chief asked Besigye and his FC party to drop the defiance campaign which breaches last week’s ruling by Deputy Chief Justice Steven Kavuma that banned FDC activities for four weeks” (NTV Uganda, 2016)
Opinion: The Calvary has gone bonkers on the Opposition, today; Because of the Interim Order banning the FDC’s Defiance Campaign
“It is no longer a struggle between FDC and NRM.It is now a struggle between God and Satan’, between right and wrong, between justice and injustice. Everybody must decide where to belong” – Wafula Oguttu
“The defiance campaign will go on until the NRM regime collapses. The national demonstrations of May 5th will go on.” Dr Kizza Besigye
Its early morning people are supposed to get their morning tea and go to work. That is not the state of affairs in Kampala. Where many Opposition figures and leaders was going to attend the FDC Prayers at the Najjankumbi Headquarters even as the Interim Orders of 29th April 2016 got into effect and was submitted to the FDC on Monday the 2nd May 2016.
The Uganda Police Force and their Regional Police Commander of Kampala South Geoffrey Kaheebwa who has besieged the FDC Headquarters and taken away the men and woman who wanted to attend the prayers. This would be Dr. Stella Nyanzi, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, Sheik Katende and Pastor David Ngabo. Muhammed Ssegirinya of Councillor Elect of Kawempe was called by local Police Officer asked not to go to the Prayers! Fred W. Mutibwa the Eastern of the Desk Officer have also been detained.
“The right to worship is not entrenched in the constitution as being absolute. It is like any other form of right. The FDC weekly prayers are a way of mobilising people to demonstrate and these were last week banned by court,” said Gen Kayihura.
The Police have also detained Ronald Muhinda a radio journalist and Daily Monitors journalist Stephen Kafeero was both detained by them today.
“This defiance campaign is not a Besigye’s Defiance. It is the citizens campaign defying injustice. Kavuma decreed that its criminal to address the media but you are all here and I am addressing you. That is defiance.” – Dr. Kizza Besigye
So the actions that the Police Force is showing today are the blatant and violence of the citizens’ rights to express their freedom, even to simply pray for their country is now a crime. That should shock and awe about the steps that the NRM regime goes to silence their opposition now. Together with the threats of the journalists who are covering it will be detained from IGP Kale Kayihura says it all, how little they care for their own people. That the ones that reporting on the matter and being the watchdogs are told to keep their mouth shut, even on the World Press Freedom Day. The Police Force has really become totally political as the ones taking pictures of Kasangati getting detained. The world should suspend their aid and military support to the NRM regime as they don’t care for their own citizens and for any democratic values as long as the NRM and their Executive rules the country.
The actions of today speaks that level and the little care for rights of their fellow citizens even people showing up at the FDC Headquarters is a crime. Not even saying a word, just showing up at the Forum for Democratic Change Party Offices in Kampala. This is the true wonders of the National Resistance Movement; they went to the bush to be able to oppress their own people instead of being oppressed by Dr. Milton Obote. Long live the irony and the bleak sadness.
President Museveni might say he is stronger and better prepared as the procurement of tear-gas and anti-riots Armoured Personnel Carriers to bring down and smash the opposition. Something he often says with different words and with the same dead tone of short stuttering words. The NRM Regime is now so forced to force themselves on the Public that they have to detain citizens for praying. They are now detaining fellow citizens for praying. How does that feel fellow Christian and wanted –to-be Pastor Museveni? Does that feels like justice as you quote bible-words in your speeches and quotes of true democratic belief. While your actions and the actions of your Police Force are harassment of the opposition. That is just evident in today alone, and it’s not only happen today. It’s been a theme through your whole rule the only difference now is that the International media and world can get the information and you cannot supress it.
So in Uganda you have no right to prayer and the Police can detain you for praying. If it is so, then there are no essential freedoms as the People are told what to do and how to act by the Police State and the NRM Regime. They are now in full lock-down on the Opposition and monitoring all of them. More will be taken in and detained. If Kasangati get sealed off again would not surprise me and if the other leaders would be taken would be natural at this point. IF more members of the FDC is also taken it is Modus Operandi by them. Peace.
Elton Joseph Mabirizi Statement on the Banning of FDC’s planned peaceful protests (02.05.2016)
Friends,
Last Friday ‘Justice’ Steven Kavuma issued a so called interim order banning FDC’s planned peaceful protests, the Tuesday prayer and other such activities.
Most of us have focused on banning prayer. However, in its true form, this order is just one step towards banning FDC, and eventually all opposition parties and organised political groups in Uganda. This is why we should firmly resist this unlawful order.
It is likely that Col. Besigye will be put under house arrest again. If this happens, we appeal to the FDC President, Gen Mugisha Muntu and the party leadership to step in boldly to provide direction.
We also believe that FDC, being the party that won the presidential election, should FORMALLY seek the active cooperation of other like minded political parties, organised pressure groups and prominent individuals in society. This will give the struggle a more national and inclusive character. We hope that this will result into the formation of a solid “Alliance for Change”.
For us at The Independent Coalition, TIC, which fronted me as Presidential candidate, we unconditionally support the planned peaceful protests commencing on May 5th, 2016.
We shall make our humble contribution to this effort, which we anticipate to be long and tough. May 5, to us at TIC, is just the first day of the journey to the restoration of true democracy, rule of law and the dignity of our people.
For God and my Country.

Besigye to ‘defy’ justice Steven Kavuma decision on defiance campaign (Youtube-Clip)
“Former Presidential Candidate of Forum For Democratic Change Party Dr. Kizza Besigye has said that Justice Steven Kavuma’s ruling is unjust and lopsided. Addressing a news conference at his home in Kasangati, Besigye said the the Constitutional Court order blocking all defiance campaigns is one of the things he will defy. This came after Justice Steven Kavuma on Friday evening ordered the stay of all defiance activities including talk-shows on TV and Radio. Dr. Besigye says that Article 43 of the constitution only limits one from enjoying his rights if it is in public interest” (NTV Uganda, 2016).
Besigye and Lukwago in a Kabale Debacle; and the Calvary hurries to tow-them and arrest them in the mountains (Updated)
As of yesterday the FDC Leader travers from Kasangati to Kabale and even had an unintended procession through Mbarara as a result of driving through the town to get ready for the court and charges given in Kabale Court.
Earlier in the day the Uganda Police Force who have followed the cars of the FDC through the country had gotten orders to stop the FDC convoy from entering the Court at Kabale. The Uganda Police Force had put up road-blocks around the hotel of Dr. Kizza Besigye. So that he could not answer the case together with his counsel of Erias Lukwago.

If this the right case it is the continuation of servings that have been served FDC and A4C activist after the “Walk to Work” in 2012. That the Kabale High Court has given them before and in midst of last year Besigye and Lukwago did not show up in September 2015. This was because the Kabale Municipality said they incited violence in Kabale in 2012.
Here are the statements on what happen on the day and there is more to come.
Erias Lukwago statement:
“We travelled long hours, and spent a night in Kabale to answer tramped up charges before the chief magistrates court in Kabale, following a warrant of arrest that was issued against us at the instance of the state, only to be informed by a Grade one magistrate that the trial magistrate is on leave. The case has been adjourned to 6th June 2016” (Lukwago, 19.04.2016).
Kizza Besigye statement:
“Our case has been adjourned to 6th June, 2016 and the reason is that the magistrate who was supposed to handle the case is away on leave. As we were on our journey back around Butobere we were cut off and surrounded by 3 Police vehicles plus the notorious Police van UP 4860 that is driven by the goons” (Besigye, 19.04.2016).
Latest Update!
“The Police has brought an armoured carrier and now they are fixing the winch to tow us away in the mountains towards Rukungiri” (Besigye, 19.04.2016).
“Our vehicle being pulled by a police truck through Kabale mountains, on a terribly bumpy and slippery murrum Road towards Rukungiri. It’s raining cats and dogs” (Lukwago, 19.04.2016).
So without charges or any reason have the Ugandan Police taken them by the force and using an Armored Personnel Vehicle. This is the democracy of Uganda at the moment and the fight against the rigged election should continue; as the 10th Parliament is just a fraud as long as the Police can tow-cars with Party-Officials and Opposition leaders with no apparent reason.
Further on the way:
“Now at Rwamucucu, heading towards Muhanga in Rukiga county” (Lukwago, 19.04.2016).
“We are between Rwamucucu and Muhanga in Rukiga, they have stopped in a swamp and they are holding canisters of teargas they want to break into our car and get us out” (Besigye, 19.04.2016).

Besigye in Mbabara, Police in Running Battles with His Supporters (Youtube-Clip)
“Police in Mbarara has today engaged in running battles with Dr.Kizza Besigye supporters as they held processions in town. Business came to a standstill as the joyful FDC loyalists welcomed their former presidential candidate who was on his way to Kabale, where he is to appear in court tomorrow. This was Dr. Besigye’s first time in the area since being confined to house arrest for over 40 days” (NBS TV Uganda, 2016)
FDC Prayer – Gen Mugisha Muntu Breaks Down in Tears (Youtube-Clip)
“The Forum for Democratic Change has resorted to prayers as the only way to force NRM’s Yoweri Museveni out of power. The opposition Party which started the weekly prayers at the office headquarters in Najjanakumbi hopes for a miraculous change of government. In a show of intense emotion, the party president Major General Mugisha Muntu broke down in tears as he prayed for an end to Police’s continued deployment at Dr Kiiza Besigye’s home in Kasangati. The prayers are part of the measures announced by the Party following their latest electoral setback” (NBS TV Uganda, 2016).
