“We defended Former President Zuma, we even went to Parliament and said a swimming Pool is a fire Pool, The Constitutional Court led by Mogoeng Mogoeng released a judgement against Jacob Zuma but the ANC stood by him, today Zuma says he can’t stand President Cyril Ramaphosa” – ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula (07.01.2024).
There is always a code and a brotherhood amongst comrades. That the African National Congress (ANC) has this and defend itself is all natural. The ones in power shield themselves and each other. They don’t want to lose the cookie-jar or the ability to eat. No, they want to be in office and be in power.
We know the Nkandla Village Project and the Fire Pool was a lie. While we have seen how the former President haven’t gotten more than soft punch after he was forced to resign. He had an investigation in the “State of Capture” but his not been punished or been actively charged for his actions in office. Therefore, we know the ANC has shielded him and saved him. Because we know that if they went after him. The same authorities would have to go after other high-ranking officials as well.
What the SG said now is revealing of how the ANC operates. As it shows what they do, and the SG was a minister during the Zuma years. Therefore, he knew everything at the time, and he could have done the right thing. However, that wasn’t in the cards, and they all needed to safeguard their futures. That’s why they did what they could and tried to continue the gravy-train.
The Zondo Commission and the State Capture Enquiry has become an engine of going nowhere. Neither has the case(s) against Zuma. He just gotten a taste and minimal time behind bars. It is like he could eat of the public reserves and sell out state owned enterprises (SoEs) without any consequences.
There still not being anything done about the State Capture Report which implicated the Gupta’s and they have just gotten away in exile. Certainly, former President Zuma has also been partly able to get away. His not in prison or serving time anymore. No, his currently preparing a political party and campaigning against the state. A state that he ran and against the party that he was so loyal too.
Now that the ANC SG said what he said. We can wonder else they have defended or tried to shield. As if they did this to Zuma… and most likely did it to others too. As Zuma isn’t the only one who misused funds or public office. Therefore, they are showing their “codes” and “ethics”.
This is just depressing and disappointing, but not surprising in 2024. No, it is the game the ANC have played and become. They are just a group of thieves who is trying to avoid being caught. If they are… they will defend each other and find ways to siphon other funds. These people won’t serve for the interests of the people. No, they are there for selfish interests and themselves.
One day they defended Zuma, but now as he turned, they are telling the truth. The truth which they didn’t want to tell to Parliament or anywhere else. However, now that the buck has stopped. The ANC are now retaliating, but isn’t it a bit too late? Secondly, this just shows what sort of party it has become and who they are. Not the look the ANC wants, but the SG spoke facts and shows previous action was fiction. Peace.

“Former President Jacob Zuma has urged South Africans to vote for newly-formed party uMkhonto weSizwe. Speaking in Orlando East in Soweto today Zuma said that this will enable the rescue of the ANC whose current leadership he says, is a proxy of “white monopoly capital”” (SABC News Radio, 16.12.2023).
The ignited former President Jacob Zuma has come out as a Presidential Candidate for uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party. There was earlier in the week announcement of a press conference where he would tell what he would do. Today he did just that…
His now an outsider looking in. A former African National Congress (ANC) leader and former President who challenges the incumbent. Regardless, of him keeping his membership or not in the ANC. His still going head to head with the leaders of ANC and their incumbent Presidential Candidate. That’s a given and it’s to go after Cyril Ramaphosa.
The ANC is now challenged on a spectrum of parties and with former comrades within their midst. They are now facing further splits of votes and possible re-igniting of old grievances. That’s a coming thing here.
Zuma must know that throwing this grenade this late before an election. There is no way the MK party or his candidacy can be victorious. Maybe that’s not the idea behind it anyway. It is a way of forcing and ensuring “coalition” or agreements to get a slice after the fact. There is more likely a long-con in this and Zuma wouldn’t do it without knowing he could benefit after it.
This is a gift for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) as the ANC are weakened further. Zuma still have high regard and possible outreach to voters who would have voted ANC. Now the same voters could either vote for him or Ramaphosa. That is a bonus for Julius Malema. He will see this an early Christmas Gift.
Zuma is now playing a dangerous game. As he has to galvanize the troops and his supporters. There is a need to prove his worth. Not only play victim of his own action and blame the state for targeting him after the fact. Now he has to prove he will act differently and be a viable candidate. While many will remember the “State of Capture” and his endless corruption scandals. Therefore, he has a bad track-record as a Head of State. Regardless of what he did in the ANC before getting into office.
Seeing Zuma return to politics is only a signal that the man is off the hook and still has political capital. He will still thrive and fight for his legacy. However, him and his party won’t get far. The only thing it can do is to hurt the chances of the ANC. The MK Party won’t be winner or a game-changer. No, it is just another outfit that will be in the minority vote. They will not overnight become a majority or have the ability to gain nationwide success. Even with a figure like Zuma. That has been shown by others who has created their own parties and become regional parties or within certain voting bases. Therefore, Zuma has to either reinvent himself or sell a story that will be hard to believe.
Zuma returning isn’t shocking, neither is the candidacy for another party. Because, we know he wouldn’t be welcomed back with open arms in the ANC. That ship had sailed. Now he is out on his own. This is done to challenge the ANC, but will MK have a chance?
I doubt it… ActionSA, BOSA and others has been created without reaching far. That’s why I doubt he will get anywhere… Peace.

President Lazarus Chakwera will not achieve a miracle by having a National Prayer Day on the 7th December 2023. No, this is just a public spectacle and an event to glorify his own existence. His using his spirituality and faith as a shield for his inaction.
The President and his cabinet can do things. The Tonse Alliance has the tools and the equipment to help with the devaluation of the currency and the rising cost of living. The people of Malawi deserves a government that tackles it and tries to find solutions.
Prayers will not solve it and the President knows that. The whole world knows it. It is a smokescreen and a mirage. All for the publicity and to make him seem holier than thou. Even though it doesn’t serve anyone.
Thoughts and prayers won’t fix a shortfall of funds. Prayers won’t help to strengthen the currency or give new measures to secure more forex. Neither does prayers resolve troubles of trading, domestic revenue or even the costs of imports to the Republic. None of that is directly solved by praying.
Nothing is wrong by praying or having faith. However, faith is dead without actions. Prayers and no actions is pointless. The exercise doesn’t add up and the reverend knows that too. He has read the scriptures and knows that faith is dead without actions.
The President knows this is a facade and not the real deal. This is snake-oil salesmen tactics and hoping the faith of the people will be his shield for his lack of direct programs or financial policies. The prayers are an act of desperate measures, as he is inept and has appointed ill-advised people into high- ranking offices. Since the have no idea how to solve the burden that weighs on them.
The people of Malawi deserves better than be living on a prayer. They should see that the President and his associates works tirelessly to fix and amend things. Instead they either a see a vagabond or a merchant of hope. They don’t see a capable President or someone who has the answers. He can speak big and act wise. However, the results are in the crashing economy and having no way to stop the negative trends.
The President should have advisers and associates who could help him. That could navigate these murky waters and get them into a safe-haven. However, that seems hopeless now.
That’s why his praying and hoping no one sees it. Peace.

“Benefitting 484 households, the Bhekindodo Water Scheme was unveiled today by President Cyril Ramaphosa in Jozini’s Ward 10 in KwaZulu-Natal. This initiative includes the installation of taps in yards across both Ward 09 and Ward 10, ensuring improved access to clean water” (African National Congress, 26.11.2023).
The great African National Congress (ANC) isn’t as grand or flashy these days. The latest ANC at Work just shows mediocrity and a lacklustre attempt to help the communities. Just imagine having the President for a visit to cut a ribbon for one tap of water. Not in-house even or such. No, no, no, this is the grand level of mediocrity. It only missed a metal plack of sorts with the opening day and a golden signatory of the President. That’s the only thing missing from the photo-ops. Everything else was there…
President Ramaphosa was made a fool of himself and his party by doing this. Yes, the communities question needs safe drinking water and water sources. That something everyone needs and that the ANC gives them water this way is fine. However, it is not supreme or the grandeur of such a long standing government. This is the sort of Banana Republic act to seem like the party or government is doing their thing. While everyone see it for what it is and the publicity isn’t worthwhile.
The President would have been better off not to cut the red ribbon and forget about the “Water Scheme” as it doesn’t serve him any favours. This isn’t sustainable and the President knows it. His opening one tap for 484 households. They have to wait in line and calculate times to use it for all their households needs. That’s why you know this isn’t serving them all at a large extent. You have only tiny tap that is where the 484 households can get their water.
How will the sanitary efforts be kept? Who will keep it clean or ensure that it doesn’t get dangerous bacteria?
Something got to give here. The ANC and Ramaphosa should be better. They should have ensured much more than a tap for water. This isn’t worthy of celebration or success. No, this is a failure and a lack of concern to the 484 households. These households and citizens deserves more than this. They should have gotten tap-water into their homes for the first time. That could have been celebrated and building a functioning pipeline for water in the state would be good news too. However, we are here just celebrating the opening of one tap.
The President celebrated the opening of one tap and not just a month ago Mr. Beast built a 100 wells. He really exposed the rotten games of NGOs and lack of service delivery from the nations while doing this. Yes, the YouTuber didn’t do it South Africa, but he could have… and Ramaphosa just shows how embarrassing things can be.
I still cannot get over it and is baffled actually. A Head of State had a ceremony over one tap. I know other President’s has done this too. Nevertheless, I am still amazed that they do it and makes it a cause for celebration. When it is really a failure and a lack of care or concern for the communities these tap(s) are supposed to serve. Peace.
