Opinion: NUP blocked Chameleone, so they should block Naggayi Sempala too!

In politics, stupidity is not a handicap.”Napoleon Bonaparte

I find the stages of the second round of aspirants for the Lord Mayoral position Kampala to be obnoxious already. This is the second party to make a fool out of itself by the first round about it. Dodging several of candidates and having the main candidate Latif Ssebagala dropping out of the race to favour Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Erias Lukwago.

Nabilah Naggayi Sempala shouldn’t get this National Unity Platform ticket. She has already gone for it in the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC). Already, dropped out her incumbent-seat of Kampala Woman MP. Where she would meet head-on with Dr. Stella Nyanzi. A race she knew would be tougher than ever before. Therefore, dropping out before even trying.

In that regard, she has been fishing for relevance after losing both the option of becoming the Lord Mayoral Aspirant in the FDC and losing the Kampala Woman MP candidacy too. This while she has been throwing shade against her party since 2018.

In the previous election cycle she was also fishing a secure ticket and party. She was running around with Go-Forward one day and the day after running back to the FDC. That happen in 2015. Not a to far distance time, but enough that people have forgotten that.

So, Nabilah is clearly shopping a seat. She is fixated in being in this race. Even, if by most margins and levels of trust. The way she has used her platform and her political games. We can see, that she is savvy, but only for personal gains. She is not there for service delivery or pushing any agenda.

That is why she can cry havoc and bring all the tears. As she was out manoeuvred in the FDC earlier in the year. However, now in the second round of nominations for Lord Mayoral Aspirants. She suddenly shows up…

We know she has been vying for this for months. Alas, it is because her own seat was suddenly contested and she wouldn’t even try to face Dr. Nyanzi. Nevertheless, the same person thinks she’s capable of bringing down incumbent Lukwago. Which is foolish to begin with.

Nabilah’s case within the NUP is as strong as Jose Chamelone was. They are both in it for the same. These people are not in it for the struggle nor the betterment of the Republic. They are there for their livelihood and their own pockets. Chameleone was shopping the best ticket for success. The same is Nabilah now.

That is why Nabilah was waving between Go Forward and FDC in 2015. She wouldn’t be like this, unless she tried to fish in every pond. Hoping people wouldn’t catch onto her game. Alas, we do and the game is getting old.

The reasons for failing to be viable for Chameleone should be nearly the same reasons Naggayi Sempala wouldn’t be up to par. She isn’t it and isn’t even the second best. Neither is she the third best. It would be better to follow Latif example and back Lukwago. Than, send a false prophet. A meal-ticket politician and an empty shell of an politician.

She isn’t in this for the NUP. The NUP is only a platform and a ticket to give her hope. It isn’t done for Kampala. Neither is it done to help the opposition. She just needs a home and fast. Suddenly, ditched the FDC and became NUP overnight.

Nabilah is cutting it, unless the NUP is fine with a sell-out. However, then they could have just settled with Chameleone in the first place. Peace.

Kampala Woman MP Race: One hot-seat!

It is established in the last few days that the contestants for the Kampala Woman MP seat will be a battle. There will be real issues and candidates. The incumbent is not automatic to this slot for MP in 2021.

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Kampala Woman MP Nabilah Nagayi Sempala. Nabilah has been an MP for two terms. She won the 2011 elections and the 2016. The second one, she was bickering between the NRM and the FDC. She has already dismissed the People Power Movement, the movement Besigye has gone in alliance with. Therefore, her standing and her part in the up-coming election is up for grabs.

As Nabilah is challenged in her own party by the Makerere lecturer and activist, Dr. Stella Nyanzi has come forward as the FDC Kampala Woman MP. This means Nabilah isn’t directly entitled to her place, even as an incumbent. There is direct competition just there. No sole candidacy there.

That was just the FDC. There are plenty of others coming up trying to grab this slot.

In the National Resistance Movement (NRM) the ruling party is sending their Presidential Advisor and musician Jennifer Full Figure or Jennifer Nakangubi. It was just last year she got promoted from nothing as an activist within the People Power Movement and went to the NRM. Now, she wants to contest for something. Where there is real competition. Not only the two mentioned, but more as well.

From the People Power Movement, you have the lawyer Shamim Malende, the head of the Woman’s League and Head of Legal for the Movement. She is also putting forward her credentials for the race. After my findings she has been practising law since around 2008.

This is the contestants for the seat before you look into if the Democratic Party will have anyone, if the Uganda Peoples’ Congress will have one too. They might have, the DP had one in 2016, but she became a NRM Member and part of the cabinet after loosing to Nabilah. Who knows what’s their plan this time.

Kampala have been a stronghold for the opposition. The expectations for a FDC MP or People Power MP should be on the horizon here. It just depends on Nyanzi or Malende. Sempala and Full Figure will play second fiddle to those two. I know that will hurt the pride of Sempala especially, since she regards herself highly. Not to talk about the ego and attitude of Full Figure. We know she will cry havoc, if she looses, which she most likely will do.

If Nyanzi get the slot in the FDC this time around. Then we can wonder what plan Sempala have. Secondly, Malende will be hot contestant in consideration with the rise of People Power. Full Figure will be the Ragga Dee of this competition. She might not like that, but just like Ragga she will loose. It just depends how much. Peace.

Opinion: Took 18 months to deem “a Pair of Buttocks” as an inoffensive communication

Since early 2017, Dr. Stella Nyanzi have gotten into legal trouble because of her public statements. She was charged on the 23rd March 2017 for offensive communication, as she deemed the President as a “Pair of Buttocks” in a Facebook post. Ever since then she has gone in and out of prison. However, the longest stint was 18 months in Luzira Woman’s Prison. Today, the International Criminal Division have ordered to overturn her conviction and sentence from lower courts. The state also lost the appeal on the grounds of offensive communication.

Therefore, today on the 20th February 2020, she has finally been released after struggling on the docket, before taken back to Luzira briefly to sign-out and then released. This has been a to long journey over some “buttocks”.

That the timeline between 23rd March 2017 to 20th February 2020, she has been taken in- and out of prison. She has been carrying the weight and been resilient in her quest for freedom. Since the charge in March 2017, the amount of days carrying this has been the total of 1064 days, or 2 years and 10 months and 28 days. That’s a long time for one Facebook post.

Dr. Nyanzi has gone through a lot, she lost an unborn baby because of it too. There must been an overload of pain and suffering, which we cannot understand. Still, with all that pressure, all the negativity and the destructive pattern of the state towards her. She has stand strong and been able to push through. That is admirable and should be recognized.

Stella Nyanzi has carried a lot of pain, a lot of suffering and continued. That is what we all should admire about her. That she has stood up to injustice, unfair rulings and court judgments, which were biased in favour of the President and explicitly constraining the ability of people to express themselves online.

Nyanzi isn’t perfect, she isn’t aiming for it either, but what she does has a point. That the President is a pair of buttocks. That he acts like that and talks like that. This is why he could address himself as the Leopards Anus, but she couldn’t call him buttocks. Which is double standard and hypocrisy at its best.

She has paid for this. Stella has been through a journey, which many wouldn’t wish on anyone. Still, she’s there and able to fight for her causes. Justifiably so. No one can deny Stella that. The ones that does is ignorant of the message and the courage of standing up to the military might and powers to be with only a computer and a free mind. That is what she has done.

So the verdict on the President. His not a saint, neither is he grand, when he let one of his subjects be in prison for over 18 months and charged falsely with offensive communication for over 1064 days. He is a “pair of buttocks”, Mr. President you just have to live with it. Peace.

Centre for Legal Aid letter to Commissioner General of Uganda Prison Service – “Re: Complaint of Improper Conduct and Abuse of Power by your Officers in charge of Luzira Women & Upper Prison and your Officers in charge of Public Relations (09.08.2019)

Opinion: Whose not annoying and ridiculing President Museveni at this point?

24. Penalty for acts intended to alarm, annoy or ridicule the President:

Any person who, with intent to alarm or annoy or ridicule the President— (c) assaults or wrongfully restrains the person of the President, commits an offence and is liable to imprisonment for life” (Penal Code, 15th June 1950).

We know they fought, we know they won and the rest is history. The 1986ers are running the Republic and doesn’t care if their revolution is eating and killing its kids. They just don’t care, everyone is charged with phony charges, taken by the courts in premeditated statutes and usage of colonial laws to pin them as criminals for standing up against the President and his patronage. They own the land, the rest is the peasants, whose lucky enough to live on rented time on the soil of the Republic.

Today, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine is charged with annoying, ridiculing and blocking the road in Arua, as the President was passing with his convoy. The other Arua 37 was charged with this too. This is not new, because anyone can be charged with it these days. These people are still facing treason charges from the same Post Arua By-Election, so what the state put these additional charges on them.

There takes nothing to insult the President, if your Joseph Kabuleta writing about Project Muhoozi. If Bobi Wine tries to use his popularity to win By-Elections, which is demeaning to the almighty President, whose supposed to be the most loved person ever to grace the planet earth. You get charged with cyber harassment, if you just write a poem about you, this is the fate of Dr. Stella Nyanzi. Whose now under more trouble for demonstrating in the midst of sentencing on the last Friday.

So, we know that people are annoying, bugging and has to be charged for doing so. Even if the President says no-one is arrested for annoying him. Apparently, plenty are and in legal jeopardy. If you just spit in the wrong pit, they will charge you for it. However, in this regard, the citizen can just be in wrong place, at the wrong time and the state will capture you. That is what the state is doing.

The state and the authorities are using the Penal Code, Public Order Management Act and Computer Misuse Act to take people away for any reason from her until the sun. There is nothing the state cannot pin on its dissidents. They will create mirages, they will fix the codes and pin it on someone who happens to be the opposition to the regime. This is what they do.

At this moment, anyone can be charged with annoying the President. If you write a poem, if you drive on the wrong road, if you don’t take his biscuits as he doles it out through his aide, or dare to speak ill of him in public.

This shows the foolishness of the state, as they think they are bloody brilliant. The charges are forged, manufactured and if a serious court would look at it. They would dismiss it, because there is no case. If the state was serious, the Treason case against Bobi Wine and the Arua 33 wouldn’t last this long, but these bastards doesn’t care. They have not produced any evidence or affidavit to prove it. Even if their lives depends on it. Because, they know its just playing and misusing the time of the ones charges. So, that Bobi Wine and the rest have less time politicking. That is what the state does.

That is why everyone is annoying the President and he just have to pin something on them. Peace.

The House Always Wins: Turinawe and Nyanzi’s defiance loses!

Today, the authorities are finding way new ways to intimidate and insult intelligence in the Republic. This time its two suspects, whose already in trouble, who gets into trouble and continues to push for the good cause. These two are Dr. Stella Nyanzi and Ingrid Turinawe.

Today, as anticipated Ingrid Turinawe was in-front of Court, as she was produced after the foolish arrest during the weekend. As the only thing she did was to visit activists, who was brutally taken out of Buganda Road Magistrate One on Friday. Where she was just trying to deliver them. This was clearly an act of criminal intent, as she did try to do it twice. Therefore, the arrest and today’s short visit in the Court Room.

Ingrid Turinawe case is adjourned until the 16th August 2019, she is charged with annoyance or inconvenience of the public nuisance and added assault. If anything ever was fabricated, these charges are, because as dumb as the arrest was, the charges are in the same category. The state is clearly pinning whatever they can to its dissidents. When is it annoying to give some prisoners food?

While the state hasn’t enough charges to pin on Dr. Stella Nyanzi, they got to oppress her some more. Just to prove their point. So, today, the NTV Uganda explained this:

Stella Nyanzi faces fresh charges of unacceptable conduct in court. Uganda Prisons Service Spokesperson Frank Baine said the charges relate to Nyanzi baring her breasts as she was sentenced for cyber-harassment on Friday. The court session was held via video conference” (NTV Uganda, 05.08.2019).

The state cannot have the time to find evidence or the even the codes or statutes to pin people on, before they are arresting them and then sentencing them. This is impunity in its highest form. Where all sorts of rebellion are being criminal. Think about about, feeding prisoners and even showing flesh is now illegal? There is nothing that cannot be done, which is again make you a suspect of an offence? The ones throwing the bottles are now facing charges and sentenced too, by the way. They incited violence, Malice Damage and one with Assault (the one throwing the bottle at the magistrate). Clearly, everything that can be used, will be used against you.

The state is showing their finesse in the game of oppression and silencing of dissidents. They are doing this so steady, that you cannot follow up on all the cases. The state is so viscously going against people, that there is no time to rest.

Today, its Turinawe and Nyanzi. Who knows its tomorrow. My best guess is someone either connected to the People Power or someone in the camp of Besigye. The rest are on their merry. Because, the true opposition, the ones fighting for justice and liberty is the ones paying the price. The rest is just silently accepting the dictatorship and its painful exercise of arbitrary arrests, torture and suspension of freedom, liberty and justice. Which supposed to be all, but is apparently for a limited few. Peace.

Bottle Out: No rebuttal is allowed against the oppressors!

Well, on Friday, the 2nd August 2019, Dr. Stella Nyanzi was sentenced to 18 months for a poetry against the President and his mother. This happen as she had violated the Computer Misuse Act and specifically, what she was sentenced for was called Cyber Harassment. This all well-known now.

We know now that because of the actions inside the Chambers of Buganda Road Magistrate Court One. The aftermath and the scrutiny has come to the forefront. If it was the starting of undressing of Stella, whose has no power anyway and did it, because she was going to jail no matter what. Because of that, the Minister for Integrity and Ethics, Rev. Simon Lokodo, want her to be investigated for doing that. This means, his part of the authority to even silence her more.

There was also several of activists, without any forewarning threw a bottle at the judge and made a rawkus. 6 of them got detained by the authorities and was taken away. These have now been held at the Central Police Station in Kampala since the sentencing and today, FDC’s own Ingrid Turinawe went to visit them. Because, she did go there to see them. Clearly, that was a violation of some code and was angering the authorities.

We can clearly see that the authorities and the state is not playing around. They will use all means to get the dissidents silenced. There is no way for them to even answer back or to speak their peace. They have to be monitored, express their views in the limited windows that the state provides and if they go outside of that. Then, you might be taken from your home or even arrested as they see fit.

There is no way of seeing this getting better, as the Republic is gearing up for elections in 2021. They are clearly signalling, that the opposition and activists for a peaceful transition is a free-for-all and bait to eat. Because, the state can send the flying squad, can send ISO and send the police force towards the opposition. For whatever reason they see fit. Even if the opposition tries to be on the radio, hold a rally or internal party meetings. The state will block, shield and arrest the ones who dare expose their authority.

In reality, the bottle flying in the chambers is wrong. The sanctity of the Courts are important, but when whatever you do gets violated. When your voice is silenced and your have no where to hide. You have no where to speak or express your dissident views, without meeting the powerful security organizations. You know something is wrong. This picture is just amplified and showing the drastic measures the state uses against the ones, who is fighting for justice, liberty and freedom.

The justice, freedom and liberty is apparently only for the bush-war generals and their patronage. The rest needs to be in silence and carry-on, not question, not interfere and don’t you dare question the reasoning of the state. They are the kings, the queens and the future. The rest of you are their peasants, their underlings, who has to abide their draconian and colonial laws. That is just the way it is.

That is why Stella Nyanzi is behind bars, that is why Ingrid Turinawe is behind bars. That is why the 6 activists is behind bars. They are all there, because they dare question the government and is security organizations. They dare to oppose them and speak up without fear or intimidation.

Still, the NRM handlers, the sycophants wants to attack the ones throwing the bottles there. Still, they don’t condemn the way the state arrested the activists on that day. Neither, the sudden kidnaps, torture or even killings done in favour of the state. So, if they were sincere, then they would have spoken. Alas, they don’t because they are addicted to the gravy-train and doesn’t need see a free and fair society since they are paid and secured anyway.

Therefore, the opposition should just be glad they are there and not dare to insult, annoy or even question the NRM. Because, if they do and if they succeed spreading their message across. There will be consequences and they will meet the long arm of the state. That is why they just have to:

Bottle out!”. Peace.

Opinion: Dr. Stella Nyanzi only sin is that she offended the Don!

A despot doesn’t fear eloquent writers preaching freedom-he fears a drunken poet may crack a joke that will take hold.”E.B. White

In a state like Uganda. The only thing you need to do is to offend the don. The academic Dr. Stella Nyanzi have now been in custody of the state for 9 months and today was charged with Cyber Harassment by Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu. As she is now because of this is possibly could be sentenced up to three years in jail.

This happens because the Nyanzi did write a poem, where she wrote some words about the deceased mother of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Which certainly insulted the President and his handlers. That the President cannot handle to be ridiculed or mocked online. This shows the lack of tolerance or understanding of freedom of speech. As she is barred and behind bars awaiting the trial today for 9 months and have one more day to get the final sentencing tomorrow.

She is only going through all of this, because she offended the don. The head of the mafia. The Godfather of Uganda, is someone you don’t offend or even insult. Especially not his kind, even if the Leopards Anus insults you, plays around with you or send his enforcers to handle you.

Still, your supposed be grateful to live in the Republic. Not question his authority, any of the First Family and especially not offend the Fountain of Honour, His Excellency. It is rich, that he recently said he wasn’t offended or annoyed by the things said on social media. Still, he has no trouble ensuring that the ones who question his place, his family and his patronage are getting into legal trouble. Just like Nyanzi is in.

Her predicament is here, because she was putting it in a poetic way, that she wished Mr. Museveni never was born. Because of the all the pain and suffering that have done to Ugandans. The proof of that is her own fate. That she has challenged the man, who sends his enforcers and men of honour to finish people off. That man she has questioned and even offended.

That is why the Buganda Road Grade One Magistrate Kamasanyu will sentence her tomorrow. She messed with the wrong man, and has to pay now. That is why this is called cyber harassment in the eye of the state. Because, the state cannot manage or find proper ways to deal with its dissidents. It is easier to enforce the authorities to silence and make people stop.

This is yet another one of that, there is a limit of speech and especially about the First Family. They are supposed to get all the perks, all power, but don’t you d are insult the villager and his kin. Than, expect the police, army and all of the weapons bought in the recent century to be pointed at you. One way or another.

That is just the way it is and she’s paying the price for offending the Don. The Don your not supposed to offend, your supposed to kiss his ass and do him favours. Not back-talk or even try to talk about his family members. You should be blessed, that his not touching and letting you live. Peace.

Uganda: Woman’s March dispersed by Police – As activists fights for the plight of the kidnapped woman!

Today was a day activists and especially Dr. Stella Nyanzi had a Woman’s March in Kampala. Going to the Inspector General of Police John Martins Okoth Ochola at the Police Headquarters to demonstrate with coffins to show the ignorance and the lack of care for all the kidnappings of woman in the Republic. Clearly, the Police Force was acting it is has done before. Instead of going into dialogue with the protesters. They went into warfare and skirmishes. As this little group was whisked away and the house of the IGP was shielded like a fortress with Police Officer in Anti-Riot Gear.

Some called this the Woman’s March, other in the slogan of Woman Lives Matters. 7 Activists was taken today, even some whose part of Chapter Four Uganda. Who also was protesting today. This shows that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) proves they are not there for freedom, liberty or even freedom of speech. As they are not allowed to speak up against the kidnappings.

All these activists was arrested with unlawful assembly and left on bond after being arrested earlier in the day. This was not at the same place as the demonstration. They were all taken to Jinja Road Police Station. That is typical of how these police officers works, as they usually does the same. To take the leaders from the protests and marches, even political rallies and drop them off further away. So the rest of leadership has to leave the premises and try to get them out on bond. As simplistic tactic to disperse the protesters.

They we’re peacefully walking to the Police Headquarters to deliver a letter and the police went all out. With all their gear and massive spark of outrage. They went into this with peaceful means. They came with coffins and a letter. To prove their point of the fragile lives, that is taken away and that the rampant kidnappings. This is happening a year after the deaths of woman in and around Entebbe. Which still is left unresolved, as the matter is on print. There is so many cases so many lives taken by the criminals and left played around.

That is the insecurity the NRM was supposed to fight and create. Instead it has gotten worse with time. The proof of with the rampant kidnappings and the deaths of innocent civilians. That is what it all boils down too. The demeaning way people are losing their lives, innocent woman who are just disappearing like garbage. When they are equals, citizens who has rights to justice and rule of law. Who are supposed to be protected and secured by the Police and other Security Organizations. The lack of that create a vacuum and the need for protest comes.

The need for organizing marches and question the powers for their lack of care becomes needed. Because the state isn’t answering to the plights of these people. They are left alone until they vanish, goes away and never returns. Used as pawns and used as bargaining chips to get a pay-off. That is what is happening. Peace.

My letter to Janet Museveni: Stop mocking the parents whose living in poverty!

Dear Janet Museveni!

I am writing to you again, because of your statements to the Ugandan parents who isn’t apparently feeding their kids. Because this is epidemic and systemic default from your mans long-term government and his lack of integrity and also lack of building resilient institutions. Because all has to go through your husband, Yoweri. Therefore, he can write a letter and reappoint people your firing. Since he is the head, not only of the household, but also the Republic.

However, that is knowledge you already knew, Janet. That is why this is insulting, what you said in a Press Briefing today:

““It tells us something about selfishness that there are fathers who use Shs1000 for alcohol every day and mothers who spend money doing their hair and working on their nails but cannot buy containers to pack food for their children,” Ms Museveni said” (Daily Monitor – ‘Parents must feed their children or face the law, says Janet Museveni’ 02.06.2018 link:http://www.monitor.co.ug/News/National/Parents-must-feed-their-children-face-the-law-Janet-Museveni/688334-4592282-4dh2vaz/index.html )

I find it selfish of you to single people out and to put everyone in one bracket. When you know the state of the budget, the misuse of government funds, the lack of funds for salaries for civil servants and teachers. The own ministry your running is controlling dozens upon dozens of depleted schools and lack of accountability. Therefore, you should be careful addressing others. When your not the perfect princess you want to be.

Janet, it is the government fault, that there are lack of jobs, lack of opportunities for the graduates from college and university and all the other compromised situations that your government is in control off. You should fix government, before blaming the poor for lack structure and lack of giving way. This belittling the poor, because you have the State House and all the riches of the world. Your entitled to be queen, while others struggle from hand to mouth. Not like the ones who are poor is deciding they don’t want to give food to their kids. But they have no option, because of the systems your government put in place or didn’t care about. Your reckless behavior, your vultures and your thieves are the reason for this poverty.

You Janet and the whole royal cabinet. Should look into yourselves, all your activities and all your policies, all the transactions and all the unaccountable funds and ask yourself. Did you do enough? Did you? Did you really do enough?

The earlier preliminary report released last September had showed there was an increase in poverty levels from 19.7 per cent to 27.7 per cent. The current figure now puts the total number of poor Ugandans who cannot afford three meals a day to eight million” (MARTIN LUTHER OKETCH – ‘Poverty level increases to 21.4 per cent, says UBOS’ 18.01.2018 link: http://www.monitor.co.ug/News/National/Poverty-level-increases-per-cent-UBOS/688334-4268774-format-xhtml-ubneas/index.html).

When one your watch there is 8 million Ugandans who cannot afford three meals a day, that is your fault and your mistake. That isn’t only the parents. Some parents are bad and do bad with the money. But I doubt that 8 million are drinking, getting boozed up beyond intelligence and getting pedicure. Lets that be clear. Unless, the NRM has configured the stats on that too.

This is disgraceful, that you did this and mocked this people. Instead of figuring out ways of making it better for 8 million Ugandans. You are lecturing them and blaming them, calling them alcoholics and wasting money on luxurious items. That is by the way rich coming from you, as your administration is overspending on the State House and on your family. The wealth and the funds which is around the President is enormous and vast.

Mrs. Janet, there are so much you can do with your power and influence, but you have decided not to care. Your acting as a lecturer, but your actions are lacking any moral substance. If you did care and if your husband cared. There wouldn’t be 8 million in poverty and lacking three meals a day in the Republic. Your family and your husband has had three decades to fix this. Apparently, you haven’t tried.

8 millions are not alcoholics. That is impossible.

Step your game up. Act within reason and be rational. Not demean them, because your responsible, not only for the Ministry of Education and Sports, but for what your bed-mate is doing too.

Best Regards
