Kenya: Press Statement by the LSK President on defending the CJ and Judiciary (10.07.2017)

That President Uhuru Kenyattta fear the opposition is evident, maybe because of his ill track-record in the first term as President. He must fear that his failure of grand promises like lap-tops, jobs for the unemployed youth, national security against cattle raiding in the border region and also the famous stadiums that never appeared or even started to work on. Together with the stop of troubling scandals upon scandals like NYS, EUROBONDS and others. That are proof of maladministration and obvious grand corruption. Therefore, the Kenyan President should be more careful about addressing other people’s bad delivery, in the recent times these men haven’t even been in power. Like the President himself could have delivered more if he cared or if he didn’t want to create crony capitalism. Take a look!
“The President said Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has no credibility to stand in front of millions of Kenyans and make grand promises when he had failed to ensure that his own home village gets water. “What can Kalonzo deliver when we are the ones taking water to Tseikuru, his own home villages, where he was MP for many decades,” said President Kenyatta when he addressed Jubilee supporters at Mashuru, Kajiado County. The President also took on Raila Odinga who was the MP for Kibera for decades but never solved the challenges facing the residents. “We are the ones issuing title deeds to the Nubians of Kibera after all those years,” said the President. President Kenyatta also criticized Odinga for failing to do anything meaningful for the people of Kajiado for all the years he served in government or even as the Prime. Minister. “Why didn’t he do something about the roads here in Kajiado when he was the minister of roads?” asked the Presidnet. The President, who is on a meet-the-people tour of Kajiado County, said the Jubilee Government has served all Kenyans equally. “We want to continue with the work of connecting more home to electricity, ensuring secondary education becomes free and improve our road networks,” said the President” (The Presidency, 2017).
He is clearly just looking into the opposition, instead of focusing on what the government will do and what he can do. Since he knows his own legacy and his own accomplishments isn’t that big. If they we’re he wouldn’t re-post donated British ambulances months apart to look like the government does something genuine, instead he tries to trick the public with these sort of stunts. Clearly, he wants to blame the opposition to look good. When he knows his own achievements isn’t that swell. If they we’re he would point at them and praise himself. So the public in the district would smile and be happy of the development made during the Jubilee administration. Instead, he has to go back in time and blame the NASA leaders and leadership. While they have been in opposition and the Jubilee has had the most MPs and been the ones who could have fixed the issues. If not made it possible for the local government to fix it and have the economy to do so. That has not been the issue during the years of Jubilee. So his argument is pointless. Since he has himself had the time to add on budgets and get tenders to build roads and infrastructure in general.
If this doesn’t say enough. I don’t know what will. Peace.

To say that Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) leader and former Presidential Candidate Dr. Warren Kizza Besigye Kifefe (as almost everyone knows as Kizza Besigye), knows the court system of Uganda and knows the terms of his proceedings. He is still charged with treason, he was first charged in Moroto Magistrate Court on the 13th May 2016, which means his pending trial has lasted 1 year 1 month and 17 days in total or 413 days to be exact. That is severe violation and his times for bail hearings has been steady since then. Before this at least twice he has already vowed not to come back to Nakawa Court. Which isn’t strange, but that he does again today. Hopefully he will continue with defiance within his own realm, since that is needed. The State is clearly stalling time and keeping him at bay, with the easy monitoring of his acts and appearances all around in the Republic.
Here is today’s statement after being again at the Nakawa Magistrate Court after another bond/bail-hearing:
“Some time back, I had decided not to come to Nakawa court, but at that time, my bail reporting which was at the high court (Registrar) was shifted to Nakawa Magistrate Court. I have been reporting here both for bail and therefore for appearance in the Magistrate Court. I think the time has come to also say no to the bail because it is the bail that was still bringing me here. So I have informed my lawyer that I will not come back to this court over this matter. They can cancel the bail, I have no problem at all- they can cancel the bail and take me back to prison if that is their wish. From today, I will not come back to Nakawa Magistrate court for appearance or for bail. I will not appear in this court on 1st, Sept, 2017.” – Dr. Kizza Besigye
All who has followed the situation or understand the simple plain fact, that if the government had a case against Dr. Kizza Besigye, it would been in the works and the bail-hearings would just continue. Since they haven’t really started any investigation or planned anything. If it was so, there would be more collecting evidence against him and the FDC Party. Because if this was a serious case, they would have done more with the first days after the General Election in 2016 and the Swearing-In.
But the Police Force and the State Legal Team hasn’t considered or done so, this has been for a show and been to keep the FDC and Besigye occupied. Not a serious charge, neither an honest investigation into the supposed crimes against the state. If the republic really feared Besigye and though of him as an arch-criminal, they would have made sure he was indicted and gone through the court process. Therefore, the whole operation has been to stop him from working against the state. But not really trying him for treason.
Unless, they have reports and affidavits of the ones knowingly of his acts of treason comes forward, unless the justices and judges are making a case worth damn. Which seem unlikely at this point, since May 2016 has left, the same has May 2017. Its over a year and nothing. Tiwali, non, any kind of way you say nothing. Besigye if he had done anything treacherous they would have actually gotten the intelligence and the culprits together with him. They would have all been soaking time in Nalufenya. Were none of the bandits that tried to counter the state are kept. Certainly a man who does a treasonous usually doesn’t do it alone.
But hey, maybe the Republic and the Courts has some answers for their one period of keeping the suspense and has some secrets at the Okello House, as there usually all acts of the State is sanctioned from. Peace.

“We are the only political party that has a track record that speaks for itself in an array of areas” – Deputy President William Ruto (Jubilee Manifesto Launch, 26.06.2017).
Certainly the relationship between Chinese Government and Kenyan Government is paying-off under the Jubilee Administration, as President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto. Who had inspected the done project of building the Sigiri Bridge over River Nzoia in Budalangi. A promise he made in September 2014, when he was traversing the district. Therefore, that it just under two weeks after falls to pieces, is showing how shoddy the works of the bridge must have been.
The business of the bridge that makes it special is that Geotechnical Sub Consultants, second company BAC Engineering and Architecture Ltd, third company China Overseas Engineering Group Co Ltd (COVEC), which is a Chinese State Owned Engineering, and the last company is Abdul Mullick Associates Ltd (AMA), therefore the should have been enough man-power and consultants for securing the bridge building in Budalangi and over the River Nzoia. So it took 5 companies to make a faulty bridge on the price of a fortune. That should boggle your mind, all of them are displaying the working on their pages. I checked it out today on the 26th June 2017.
That a project started in 2016 and finished early June 2017. Should have the time and preparation for building it, as the State started in 2014 the whole infrastructure project, they signed with the Chinese Engineering company on the 1st July 2015. The whole project was anticipated to cost about Ksh. 1 Billion. Therefore, the visit of the President and deputy in mid-June checking of the bridge seems now a bit pointless. Since it broke-down last night.

Citizen TV Kenya also reported this today: “10 construction workers injured after a section of Sigiri bridge in Busia County collapsed last night” (Citizen TV Kenya, 26.06.2017). But if there was 10 construction workers on open bridge, means that they we’re done yet. That the construction still continued after the President and Vice-President visited it in June. Certainly, the Kenyan government could have made this better and made sure both the engineering, architecture, geotechnical consultation and implementation of the works. The government should have made sure the infrastructure project of this size and spend this sort of funding, as the Ksh. 1 billion.
That all of the contractors and suppliers, together with the engineers are clearly not delivered. If so the bridge would last longer than a month. As the project started as a promise in 2014 and broke down in 2017. This is proof of lack of governance and procurement of infrastructure projects. We should be able to see the reason for why COVEC got the deal, why the other companies was hired and the reason for the broken down bridge in Budalangi and over River Nzoia. This is clearly a giant slap in the face and proof of bad work and not of promising use of state funds. Since this was a Billion Kenyan Shillings used on building it!
That the Jubilee needs answer, the locals in Budalangi needs answers, also the Kenyan people need answers as this bridge was built on commercial loans and for the possible benefit of them all. Instead, it will be more expensive and need to be fixed. Maybe even get another design to make it safe. What is certain, is that this massive project and its expenses will be remembered as the tax wasted by President Kenyatta and DP Ruto. Peace.

That their going to be another vote of ‘No Confidence’ at the National Assembly in the Republic of South Africa against the ruling President Jacob Zuma. This is not the first or the last time it will be, even if the parliamentarians are this time voting with secret ballot, the result will be the same. The result will end with and will be same as before, the African National Congress (ANC) will vote in loyalty of their Prince, their President and chief Jacob Zuma.
The latest of these have been postponed since 18th April after the courts had to clear by the Constitution it the ballots in the coming polls could be done in secret. So that the results from the Members of Parliament (MPs) cannot prove if they voted for Zuma or against him. That might make it possible to get more votes against the President and is ill rule. But still I doubt it, since he has the suction of the Party, he contains the donors of the party and the ones cronies that keeps looting the state. The whole system is based around the cronies and the ones loyal to him. So the are no certainty the new measure will prevail, most likely not.
The ANC are now sucked into the Zuma control and the cronies around him, this happen after the hostile takeover Thabo Mbeki. So with the use of power-struggle and use of Unions the ANC got Zuma, instead of Mbeki. This it the truth and say otherwise is ignorant. The ANC took Zuma and he ate the state, ate the party and looted whatever he could.
President Zuma will not go even if there is another vote, I don’t believe that would make it happen. He has used power to build a village in Nkandla, buy a house and vehicle in Dubai and has family involved in all sort of businesses connected with the Gupta family and the Oakbay companies. That their either been done in secret deal with Russians for 10 Nuclear Power Plants or not, if it was all lies or if it was truth. That is the sort of arrangement that would be typical of Zuma and his fellow cronies. The State is captured, the economy has no trust in the government and the financial ministry, therefore the reports of a recession and downfall spiral comes with the tricks and schemes that has benefited only the people around Zuma and not the Republic.
There should be enough counts on corruption to indict the President, but since he has control of all bodies of government, since he ushers the tricks and get his will at a daily basis he doesn’t fear. Neither does the South African people demonstrate against him or avoid respecting the ANC and their government entities. They are not importing or using other companies than the ones loyal to ANC. They are not trying to boycott the ANC and the ruling regime. The ‘No Confidence’ voting in Parliament are again a side-show from the important matter of total abstain of justice and representation in South Africa. Where a ruling elite and their benefactors are eating of the plate, while the others are staving. So if it is to be erupted change, the change has to come not only from within, but from external forces in the communities, the acts of civil disobedience and acts of disrespect of the state. Since the state has been sold to companies and communities that is not on the ballots, neither that has accountability towards the citizens.
The people should know this and should stand behind it. The price of a change cost, it has always and will always be so. If the South Africans want a government representing them and not the Guptas. They have to act, if not they are silently accepting the capture and looting in broad daylight! Peace.
