Opinion: Magufuli, your prayers is not enough, show me your deeds!

When President Joseph Magufuli of the United Republic of Tanzania says by prayer the nation has been healed of COVID-19 or the Coronavirus. We can be especially concerned not only by the share rate of Tanzanian truck-drivers testing positive at the border-points to Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda. However, with the share lack of data, proof and evidence of a setback of cases within the Republic as whole.

The President is living on a prayer and that’s dangerous. Even from a Christian perspective. It’s like he take the biblical principals halfway. Sort of the way he now also takes scientifically proven evidence too. That’s why he tests goats and other things.

In this manner, I will quote a passage from Letter of James Chapter 2: 14-19:

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder” (New International Version).

This is the sort of scripture I think the President of Tanzania needs, as he acts of faith and trust in the greater God, but doesn’t act. He speaks of trust in God, the whole father of all creation, but doesn’t use his mind or his office to help the ones in need. Instead of using all means, everything he access and wealth of his office. His instead barricading and praying like a fool.

I pity the Tanzanian people, the citizens of Tanzania. That they have to trust in a Head of State. Whose busying praying and mysteriously hope a pandemic virus disappears. While his not using methods of testing, routing the groups of cases nor narrowing the spread by any means. He does have the power to do so. Yes, the numbers would spike first with mass testing. However, if they know the sources and can trace, than they can scientifically stop it. Unless, there is imported new cases and get a second wave.

Therefore, the President can claim faith, but he doesn’t have the deeds. His speaking of peace, keeping warm and being fed. However, he doesn’t ensure shelter, medicine nor treatment. His just hoping things vanish in thin-air. Hoping his faith is enough, which is half-baked approach at best.

Yes. Praying and sending good energy is a good thing. To have faith and believe is God. There is nothing wrong in that, but you should also act as a Christian. As a man of faith and serve the community your apart of and especially if your signalling yourself as a Christian leader. Than, you should act like one and not just talk, but actually do as well. That means not only praying, but behaving within your means.

When your a Head of State, you should use your means and actually serve the whole Republic. The President should do his deeds. Not only live on the prayer. That’s not cutting it, even the scripture disapproves. Peace.

Opinion: The government have money [unless your not a priority]

Let me just say, that tonight, this evening I am tired of reading headlines from various of Republics and Countries where they state they don’t have funds for pledges nor supposed basics during this global pandemic. Yes an global pandemic of COVID-19 or the Coronavirus isn’t a planned affair, unless your a conspiracy theorist who makes up ghost stories out of thin air. The rest of us lives in reality and try to figure the best way out of this.

What is boring in these troubling times is when the state says they doesn’t funds for PPE, Masks, Medicine, Salaries for Front-Line workers and whatnot. It is just an endless stream of costs, payments, allocations and expenditure the state has to carry. The imports of sudden extra equipment, ventilators and such. By all means its an expensive enterprise to cover this and ensure enough of the basics. Still, if the people, the citizens and the well-being of them matters. Than this should be shielded first.

However a reason for the lack of funds is that the state hasn’t this as a priority. This isn’t their breadwinner, this isn’t their ballpark. No, this is a side-show, a show where donors, where foreign donations and other comes in to cover the basics and the needed cover. In sunny days this is usually enough, because the ones getting hurt isn’t an priority and the ones whose VIP gets treatment abroad anyway.

That is why the Health Care system isn’t fully functioning nor has the capacity it should have in consideration per capita. The lack of enough beds, ICUs and such are now a contrast to the amount people in the dominion. Therefore, the state has lost the battle, if it gets bad quickly. The state cannot assume they will get help from elsewhere. Since they are already hurting themselves and are damaged by the virus as well.

So in this regard, when the state is complaining and stating lack of funds for this now. Its all about priorities. These states usually has no issues getting loans, grants and donations to cover deficits. They have no issues getting loans and supplementary budgets to secure new revenue-streams in sunny days for infrastructure and development projects. However, securing the well-being of the citizens and their welfare. That is burden it cannot shelter. Not to the max, not to the appropriate levels. That is just to expensive. Unless, a drunk uncle, snappy-nephew or an in-law is kicking in some remitted funds to shelter its own family at family. That is how this goes.

The governments can run their coffers dry, they can create huge deficits in the times of needs. They can boost their stimulus and use the credit, the forecasted revenue and the sales of treasury bonds. All of that cover it in the future, as the government and state can in practicality never cease nor get bankrupt. That as a sovereign state and therefore, has more gains and possible future income to cover debt and deficits.

That is why in these times of need, the government can prove where their loyalty lies. Either its with their citizens or its with the corporate agenda. They can show that solving it and investing in the Health Care system matters.

We can see if it is a priority or just talk. We can see by the pounds sterling, the US dollars or whatever currency spent on it. That its a priority or not. If they priorities it, they are risking a bigger deficit for now. If not, they are shielding the hurt and hoping it just goes back to normal quick. Peace.

Opinion: Dominic’s ill-advised adventure

If I coulda done better, woulda got better

My brudda looked me in my face and said, “You’re not better””Stormzy – ‘Do Better’ (2019)

The Chief Aide for Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Dominic Cummings is in trouble and in question over his travels from London to Durham. By car google maps are saying the trip is about 4 and half hours to drive. That’s the quickest route and without any jam.

During lockdown and with stay-at-home orders, the self-quarantined aide of the PM should know this. Dominic knew perfectly well what he was doing and what breaches of public trust he did. If an ordinary person, a man with no title and no ranks within Downing Street No. 10. He would be sacked, axed and gotten dismissed. In some nations he would be fined and even gotten more punitive actions towards him.

Cummings might act stupid, might try to lay low. While everything around him is burning. The aide of the PM. The man who scheme with him and lays plans for him. The unelected crony of Johnson. The man whose both a gift and a liability to this reign.

Cummings should have stayed home and not moved for 7 days during lockdown. Especially, when he had coronavirus symptoms. Dominic should know this, as he has imposed the public with these terms and he knew perfectly well what he did. His not a ignorant hussy on Benefit’s street. No, his the chamber-mate of the PM and guides things together with him.

That’s why this is insulting. The ones are defending him, that he should go home and take care of his parents. Yes, in ordinary circumstances that’s fine and dandy. However, during lockdown, stay-at-home orders and quarantine needs to be respected by everyone. People are not seeing their loved ones dying in the nursery homes, at hospitals and elsewhere. As the rules are strict and public complies to avoid spread of the virus.

That’s why its damning that one of the most powerful, non-elected bureaucrats of the Kingdom travels around like normal. Even though he got the disease and has symptoms. Disregarding the lockdown measures and regulations. For his own selfish reasons. I’m sure that plenty of citizens wish they could do the same. That Colin from Newcastle would really enjoy to travel to his aunty in Brighton. However, that’s impossible as his a quarantined Geordie and isn’t allowed to move around. If he did he would break the laws of the lockdown and get into trouble.

That is it really. Someone like Dominic should know better and be better. However, his disillusion and deluded mind thought this wouldn’t have ramifications. Since this is a breach of public trust, also devious in the times of a pandemic and crisis in the Kingdom.

Cummings knew all of this and still disregarded the rules during the lockdown in March. Yes, normally its cool to take care of your parents and close family. However, when you have stay-home orders and shows signs of symptoms to COVID-19. It’s not cool to travel many miles away, up-north as the general public is stuck at home and has no choice of doing something similar.

Dominic knows all of this, but still acted a fool. He went on an adventure and it was ill-advised. He should have known better, but he didn’t, apparently. Cummings trip and move was wrong. He shouldn’t have done this, but he did.

As the Chief Aide of the PM he should be an example in a time of need. Not a self-serving prick who doesn’t follow rules. When everyone else is stuck at home and not allowed to leave their address. This is an despicable act and the aide should consider his role in government. Peace
