Opinion: The State House launch another busy body called the National Dialogue Committee!

Talk sense to a fool and he calls you foolish.” Euripides

Today, was the day where the extension of the IPOD Summit 2018 was launched with brazen words from the President and the other partners around the table. Where the glowing lights and media houses was welcomed for the new initiative and the new committee, which is placed under the wings of the State House. As most things this day, another parastatal closely connected with the President.

The Republic has already the aforementioned Inter Party Organization for Dialogue or the IPOD. Which will by next year, been there and going in whatever pace it is since 2009. That is decade and the first summit was this year. So, when Mr. President says he is all about Dialogue, he is lying, but that is tradition in his blurred vision.

That the President proclaims dialogue and talks now, is that he see that his figure abroad is distorted and that his allies is starting to question him. Not only that he is a weapon-brother, but that he keeps shady friends. The President is scheming with Sudan, North Korea and anyone coming his way. As long as he gets the cash, even Equatorial Guinea is a friendly haven.

That is why the dialogue is so important, because when he was opposition himself. It wasn’t vital or important. It was even needed, the other parties was criminals and looters. Now he is the one who has eaten and ate for so long, he forgotten the time he even was freed by soldiers in prison in 1980. However, at this point, that is water under the bridge.

That the President is starting a National Dialogue Committee at the State House in 2019. Is a bit late, is very late in the time of the Presidency, it is too late to be serious from someone who never retires. Never gives way or even surrender to his own narratives and going against his vision. The President has always to get on top and win. The others has to be his minions, if not they have to be useful tools in the box. That fix his issues and get it done. So he can bask in the glory. This would certainly be wish of this committee.

That I have little faith is that the IPOD has done little or anything. The coalitions of the opposition has done nothing to overcome the hardships of political landscape. None of their actions, none of their partnership into the elections has made significant progress. Not that their partnership or coalitions would matter, when you have an Electoral Commission and ruling regime rigging the results for their benefit.

If the President had cared about the IPOD, which has been there since 2009, than he would have looked into the The Democratic Alliance (TDA) in 2015/2016 or the Inter-Party Cooperation (IPC) in 2010/2011, also the Group of Six (G6) from about 2004 to 2006. That is three Opposition Coalition, who haven’t feared well, as the NRM has done it their way.

The Forum for Democratic Change has done more dialogue and talks, than the NRM has. As they haven’t been interested in that, they we’re never interested in Multi-Party Democracy in the first place. Therefore, Museveni is lying saying he has done talks since back-when. That was to solidify his position and strengthen the Movement System. He didn’t want anything else. Because he couldn’t control the outer bodies. That is why he has made laws he gets notified of other parties activity and public meetings. So, that they have to get verified and allowed to do so. If not they are breaking the law of the Republic, if they are crossing his laws. That is the initial act of the Public Order Management Act of 2010. That was a year after the 2009 launch of IPOD.

Now in 2018, he launches a National Dialogue Committee at the State House, like it will make a difference. As the IPOD never has achieved that, neither has the G6, IPC and the TDA. None of them have made enough progress or had the ability to make anything fruitful. Even if their initial idea or message was good. That because Museveni never been honest about elections or dialogue, as it has to only benefit him. If it doesn’t he will tarnish and destroy you. Don’t expect the new committee makes significant steps, they are a front and the wold should know it. Peace.

Brexit: No Confidence Volume 2!

There are some slogans and some measures that are just put out there in the midst hope a reaction. A blistering glace of hope. I am sure that Jeremy Corbyn meant well with his proposal of a No Confidence in the Prime Minister, as she has botched the whole process of the Withdrawal of Membership State with the European Union. Made a fine mess of the Withdrawal Agreement and been such a cluster-fuck concerning the finalization of it. That is just the mere reality.

Prime Minister Theresa May was on the 12th December 2018 already having her first vote of No Confidence, because of enough backbencher’s had lost confidence in her. She won this one, because the Conservative Party or the Tories still didn’t want to have a leadership battle in the finalization of the Brexit. Still, some thought it was need, but they couldn’t pull it through.

Now, today on the 17th December 2018, Labour and Corbyn pushed the button at the House of Commons in the Parliament. They triggered it and showed finesse, as the PM has pushed for the vote for the Withdrawal Agreement until mid-January 2019. Closer to the set-date of leaving the EU. That is clearly motivated to secure a better or more erratic pressure as it is in final stages.

However, nothing seems like it is. There is no coherent message, no straight up flair or gospel, just mere blatant disregard of everyone. The Labour isn’t really stinging, while the Tories aren’t really coming all out either. There are nothing showing progress or stability, just wobbling along hoping someone are seeing the sky formation passing Dover. Because right now, the House of Commons and the United Kingdom. Look like it is without a Captain. They need a Beckham, they need a Souness, the need someone to push forward.

There are now news, that the PM and Tories will not let the No Confidence Motion will not be put in play, as that would just be silly politics. Surely, it wouldn’t be more silly, than what happen last week. Alas, that was just internal squabble between the Euroskeptics and the Remains on how to go forward. What Corbyn did is just silly, because he is opposition. We see you, we see you. We see that the PM takes people for granted, like she has done since she called for the snap elections. That is why she is afraid of new referendum. She rather traded a secured economy and fixed trading agreements for a costly uncertain future. That is splendid leadership and a grand legacy to leave behind.

Therefore, we know that the Tories doesn’t care for others than themselves. They are not caring, because their businesses are already seeking safe-haven overseas. Their funds and their estates are registered there if they can. They don’t mind, it is the Commoner who is screwed and the Tories are not representing them anyway.

Corbyn did challenge the PM today and the Tories didn’t take it. She took it, when it was internal squabble last week, but cannot take it now. May thinks she is smart, but she looks rudderless. Like she is drifting and hoping that no-one is seeing the rouse. That no one is seeing the mirage. However, there are people catching on. Even if they are late.

If she have had good leadership, there wouldn’t have been that plenty of cabinet secretaries gone. There wouldn’t been such a flawed negotiations and such a embarrassing visits in Brussels and Europe. If the PM had been good and had a decent plan, the EU wouldn’t have gotten such a bargain in the deal. However, she has played one PR Game and won behind closed doors. But now that the closed doors are open and the sealed agreements in the open. The public see the mess and the MPs too. That is why she is postponing the vote. To hope she can gain enough votes, in false hope of salvation, even if it means an eternal damnation of her legacy. Nevertheless, that is also showing day by day.

Hopefully, she will not get stuck in a car in the next coming days or start dancing again. PM May, better think and act swiftly, because Corbyn just did something May didn’t anticipate. She cannot just quash this.

There will be aftermath and within me writing this. The whole opposition has amended the motion of Corbyn and added all HM Government, meaning it is a legal thing now. Not just a mere personal lack of confidence, but the whole Cabinet. Meaning, it has to be tabled. There are no silent nights in UK politics these days. Even if the Opposition looses this one. They have shown character. More than the Tories who failed to change for the better on the 12th December 2018.

As Brexit looms, the HM Government wobbles, the opposition are showing force and who knows how this bloody nightmare ends. Europe is giddy and awaiting, as London cannot make up its mind. Peace.

Opinion: IPOD Summit 2018, what gives?

Sometimes, you wonder if the big-men think they are fooling themselves, with grandeur, with splendid facilities, with amazing statements, but however, there are no fruitful declaration or anything significant to prove of the gathering. Other than a few photo-ops and smiles from the attendees.

The IPOD Summit on the 12th December 2018 seems like that today. As there are no concessions, no proof of any movement, the Movement is at a standstill and the Opposition Parties that did show up. Was seemingly there for leverage and not for any political gains. As there are none to prove after mere hours of attending.

That James Akena of the Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) hailed the process, is fine in itself, but what use has process, when there is no outcome? Why was Norbert Mao blazing at the FDC, when his Democratic Party (DP) is split between the “Good DP” and “Bad DP”. Who knows what Asuman Basalirwa (Justice Forum) was up to really, other than switching sides from People Power to align himself with the NRM.

The only one earing on this affair is the National Resistance Movement and the President himself. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who got them on a string. He got most of the opposition at his bay and playing by his rules, without giving away anything. That is the reality of yesterday. There was nothing given by the NRM.

He held a meeting, hold a Presser and spoke about his vision as he usually does without an proper outcome. That is how empty the affair was, that is why the NRM and his minions are attacking the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) for not attending. What was it to attend? To show loyalty to Bosco? To show that he matters and rules supreme. Because he has no plan of stopping to rule.

I find it amusing that the talk of the town is that FDC didn’t show up. Since that shows the weakness of the process, of the delivery and of the platform created by this Summit. If the summit had mattered, if it had any consequences or any sort of result. They would have shown that, that would have been manifested. Instead, they doing the opposite. Blaming the fella that stood them up. Because he knew this was fake dialogue and knew there was nothing real to talk about. As proven with the insults and statements thrown that way.

Why was there none about the Farmers Party,  People’s Progressive Party, Conservative Party, Uganda Federal Alliance or the People’s Development Party, because none of them was attending or said to show up with delegates? Is it because they are irrelevant at this point? One Man shows with no standing?

Because they bitch about the FDC, but doesn’t comment about the five parties also missing at the Summit. They gathered the big-shots, but the biggest opposition didn’t show. As there was no reasons to be there and that is now proven.

Time for the Movement to reconnect and digress their deceptions. It is time for the public to open their minds and asks questions. Because they have been, spoon-feed by the NRM. They continue to that, but the Movement are not proving anything. Especially, this IPOD Summit is a proof of that. Since they cannot even show a Joint Declaration or a MoU of some kind. Because there were none in the first place. Peace.

Brexit: A “No Deal” will cause possible Border Chaos for Six Months!

Is there any days, any scenario that makes the Withdrawal from the European Union for the United Kingdom. The HM Government even own predictions are looking bleak, also this after the prediction of the Bank of England scenarios too. This is the second level and was dropped on the Government own page today.

Therefore, this is just another proof of the liabilities and problems, if the HM Government are doing a “No Deal”. They know they are creating a self-made havoc on the border towards to EU for 6 months. When the movement of goods and other issues with comply. If that isn’t worrying. Nothing is, this is not only the Bank of England prediction of fragile economy concerning a “No Deal”.

Look!

However, the UK Government does not have control over the checks which member states impose at the EU border. The European Commission has made it clear that, in the event of a ‘no deal’ scenario, it will impose full third country controls on people and goods entering the EU from the UK” (…) “The revised cross-Government planning assumptions show that there will be significantly reduced access across the shorts straits, for up to six months. This is very much a worst-case scenario” (Gov.uk – ‘Border planning assumptions in the event of a ‘no deal’ Brexit’ 07.12.2018, link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/border-planning-assumptions-in-the-event-of-a-no-deal-brexit?utm_source=6c652e62-7bb5-48b9-a9f4-f17328e31923).

This is will create issues on the border at Dover and Folkstone, also by any crossing on the ports and the airports. There are no places that will not be touched as the movement will be more limited, as the cross-checks and impose new border measures as a third country to the EU. Therefore, there will be no soft-border with a “No Deal”. The tariffs and other measures will hit the UK.

That is why the whole idea will hurt the banking and financial industries, all other exporting or manufacturing industries, as these will be directly hit by becoming a third country. As well as everything the HM Government needs to import and supplies, as these will be hit by the new measures. If this is medicine and everything else.

It is like the Tories like to make the system suffer or show the possible damage the Brexit can do. If they take the worst case scenarios as the “No Deal” will offer.

As an outsider, this sort of warnings should make you shiver and react with shock. Brexit is damaging to the citizens and the HM Government, but the Tories doesn’t seem to mind. They are going forward playing hardball with the future of their own people as the stakes. Peace.

Brexit: Bank of England dropped projected forecast and its bleak!

The Bank of England dropped their scheduled Stress Test Report of the possible outcomes of the Brexit. To say it was a joyful read, it really wasn’t, it is a dark chapter and proves what is at stake. That the politicians and the ones fighting to be sovereign from the European Union (EU) without concerned about the consequences. What is important about this BoE Stress Test, is that its an estimation and anticipation if certain variables are put into play. These are banking experts predicting the economy, that haven’t always worked out, but it give a feeling of the possible future.

To be honest the “No Deal” is a devastating affair. Shaving off 8% of the GDP. Rising unemployment up to 7,5%, Sterling falls 25% to below parity with the Dollar and house prices falls with 30 %. All of this is staggering consequences, where the shrinking economy, currency losing value and the main asset of the people lost value over night, going down to thirds of values, meaning more people will struggle to pay their mortgage and many more will lose their jobs. Therefore, this will be deep and impactful decision, where massive amounts of people will be hurt. By the mere outlook and forecast should stop anyone from considering it.

While the HM Government Plan are put to running up to 4 % of the GDP shaved off. The key part of the Report goes on the possible damage a non-deal does. That is also the one says how dire it would be. This has also been warned by both the Energy Industry, the Automobile Industry and others. Who has said the No-Deal would be damaging. That was most likely anyway, as the trade barriers, the hurt will be more constant and more companies will flea to greener pastures.

That is the reality, that the Brexiteers doesn’t care about. They don’t care if they risk 8 % of the GDP in a giant swoop. As long as they are not tied or into the Common Market. As long as they are out, the implications and the added stress to the economy doesn’t matter. That is the reality, many of the politicians doesn’t care to. As they are earning on the Brexit and making careers. They are not minding the hurt or damage. They are just smiling and saying it is for the best of the United Kingdom. When it really isn’t, they are all blaming the Bank of England. Because, they have nothing more fruitful to deliver the public.

This is predictions, forecast number if certain aspects and variables happens. These is not pseudo-science, but testing and estimating. It gives a certain forewarning about what might happen, if the HM Government does do a “No-Deal”. This shows what could be the possible cost. That should worry anyone, as this is the livelihoods, the homes and the businesses, who will disappear and not come back in long while. There will be plenty of Factory floors empty and take-away shops. Who suddenly are emptied in the towns and the cities. That because, someone wanted to prove a point to Brussels.

I am not a Remainer or such, but the Brexiteers are foolish for this one.

Are they willing to do this much damage? Are the British willing to risk possibly so much? Who would do so?

The HM Government Deal are bad too, they are possibly hurting half of the “No Deal”, which also shows how bad that is, but “No Deal” is massively worse.

Brexit will hurt, now the MPs and the Public have to decide what they want and how much they are willing to suffer. Peace.
