Opinion: COMELEC needs to explain the 68:32 Magic

The thing as an outsider and with the knowledge of the irregularities, the questionable speed of the announcement of the election results. The numbers was trickling in at amp-speed. Nearly quicker than the average speed of the internet networks of the Philippines. While polling stations had troubles with SD Cards and ballots unaccounted for. There was thousands of VCM machines that was defunct and not working. Therefore, it is pure magic how the COMELEC was able to bring the results at such vast pace.

The results was coming quicker than the polling material to the polling stations. Heck, the polling results was nearly coming in quicker than the voters actually voted. There was long lines and machines which wasn’t accepting or registering the ballot itself. Therefore, something doesn’t add up.

Also, the lack of celebration and parades after the announced numbers. There was more celebrations for the landslide of Duterte. If he was winning this big and by these vast margins the people should be cheering in the streets. There should be big rallies and such, as their popular candidate to get ushered in. However, there only been small pockets of the public showing up and celebrating. Not in the manner of which you would think a man of over 30 million votes would get. Unless, there is buyers-remorse from the on-set, which would also be weird. Since, the product or campaign you bought into hasn’t even entered into office. So, there should just be joy and happiness that the dude you believed in won the elections.

That’s why it is even more striking when people are looking into it and they are seeing a pattern. This being the magical 68:32 Magic or the , which is automatically 68 percentage to Marcos Jr and 32 percentage to Robredo. Even if you don’t favour any of them… it is weird. It doesn’t add up, because the numbers should vary and be different. One region would give more support to one and more support to another. There should be variation of the numbers and percentages. Unless, they had pre-programmed this and wanted it to be believable. However, it only make you think that the people are fools.

When all of these things are happening, as well as the intimidation, electioneering and the running speed of announced results. It all begs the questions, if this was the real deal or a manufactured one. Because, the COMELEC could easily favour the UniTeam and their candidates, because they are continuation of the Duterte era. It is both in the family and follows the powerful dynasties control of the high ranking offices in the Republic.

All of these factors are leaving a bitter taste in your mouth. The COMELEC has already come into question with shady deals, shoddy VCM machines and everything else opens up a can of worms. Which needs to be addressed and investigated. The opposition and the losers should petition the courts, challenge the results and see what the authorities can explain or not. Since, you cannot just announce and proclaim someone the winner without a shadow of a doubt. The COMELEC and everyone else needs to be tested and prove their worth.

That isn’t only for the losers or the opposition, but for the belief in the whole system and keep COMELEC accountable for its own actions. They need to answer these things and ensure the grounds of trust between them and the public. Because, the COMELEC and their actions should be trusted and be transparent as well. That’s not what you can say about the Presidential Elections of 2022, which is really tragic and a loss.

This is why some people are grieving and felling a loss. While the victor isn’t really celebrating or throwing big feasts for their achievement, which it should have if it was an honest affair and a deserved result. Peace.

Halalan 2022: A look into six “interesting” senatorial candidates

In the up-coming election it is 12 seats up for grabs and the 12 who gets the most votes in the Republic becomes a senator. That will be a hard race, as it is over 120 candidates. Therefore, I will not look into all of them. I’m hand-picking the most “interesting” of them.

Alan Peter Cayetano, a former senator between 2007 to 2017. He ran as VP candidate under the Nacionalista Party but he was on the ticket with President Rodrigo Duterte. Cayetano came third. Later he was appointed to be the Foreign Secretary, which he were between 2017-18. From 2019-20 he was the Speaker of the House. Cayetano has also been very vocal and in support of closing ABS-CBN network. Therefore, the role he played in that will maybe haunt in the up-coming elections. He is now running as an “independent”.

Baldomero Falcone, representing Democratic Party of the Philippines (DPP), the businessman who has claimed in previous races to be the “only one representing the poor”. While having corporations that provide low-cost housing in Manila. He wants to clear the city of squatters and give them a second chance. He tried to run for the Vice-President in 2010 after starting the DPP, but was disqualified for doing so. This is another try, but don’t expect him to succeed.

Richard J. Gordon “Wow Dick” is seeking re-election as senator. The Chief Executive Officer of the Red Cross of the Philippines since 2004. He runs on the ticket for the Bagumbayan–Volunteers for a New Philippines (Bagumbayan–VNP). Professions he is known for is to be a lawyer and a TV-Presenter. Though with the time in office. It is hard to pin-point any significant act in his name.

Norman Mangusin aka “Francis Leo Marcos” (FLM), the online personality is also running for senate, which he also tried to do in 2013 and at that time he was declared a “nuisance candidate”. The candidate have been arrested previously for human trafficking. Also been arrested for illegal selling eyeglasses too. During this year, the SEC had to come with an warning, which says: “Again, the Commission warns the public against FRANCIS LEO MARCOS and his now FILIPINO FAMILY CLUB INTERNATIONAL INC. and/or in dealing with any individuals or group of persons acting or soliciting donations for or on behalf of FRANCIS LEO MARCOS and/or his pretentious organization” (SEC Advisory, 31.08.2021). Seriously, shortly after that he was still able to run for the senate. Shiish.

Joel Apolinario “Pastor”, the former DJ and Technician, the Ponzi-Scheme who promised 30% monthly returns on all investments in Kapa investment scam. When arrested in 2020 the “Pastor” had a Private Army fighting the PNP and SWAT Team to avoid the arrest. Two men in the private died as a result of the skirmishes around Apolinario mansion. He went from a “modern day Moses” to a self-righteous scammer. The SEC wrote this in 2020: “The SEC issued advisories against KAPA as early as March 2017, subsequently a cease and desist order in February 2019 and ultimately an order of revocation of its certificate of incorporation in April 2019” (…) “KAPA was found to have been soliciting investments from the public without the necessary license from the SEC, when it enticed the public to “donate” in exchange for monthly “blessings” equivalent to 30% of their donation for life” (SEC, 24.07. 2020). Who would trust this guy in Congress?

H.R.H. Princess Dayang-Dayang nur Mahal T. Kiram of the Royal House of Sulu is actually going for a Senate seat. There is little else of information to find out about here. Even if someone has registered here under the “Princess Light”. Other than that, it is little to none. Even her personal blog on Facebook isn’t saying anything or launching any sort of campaign there.

Here are some of them. Since there is over 100 senatorial candidates. I will make more of these. However, this is enough for today. Peace.

Opinion: Duterte won the Midterms 2019!

The Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte can be acclaimed the victor of the 13th May 2019 Midterms, as his candidates all across the board is sealing their victory. The preliminary results within the 24 hours after the polls was already making it look like a landslide and that was all on unofficial results. Now, that more and more results is out. The proof is in the pudding.

There is no denying it, the magic twelve, the 12 Senators of these Midterms is people in favour and associated with the President. All of them is on board and the Opposition Candidates are not able to get in. Not as its only small canvassing left of the votes. Even with the glitches and the problematic SD-Cards, the results are still the same. The ones whose blessed with endorsement from the President has all become part of the magic twelve.

There are also the knowledge of the local governments where allies, associates and former workers of the President have won seats, mayoral or positions of representatives. This is all across the board. They have been announced and the truth is out.

What we have seen is some questionable things, what is more defining is the lack of value of the ballots, as this is prolonging suspension, as the Senators are not finalized after 48 hours. Tomorrow, it will be a week since the 13th May to 20th May 2019.

Because, it is rare, that the official results takes this long time. That we’re on the 6 day since the polls and the COMELEC is not able to issue the Official Results. As they are still partial for the Senators. Still, these results are showing that the President is getting his endorsed candidates.

This seems also likely in the local governments all around. By all means, there districts and towns, where mayors are in opposition, but these are either retaining their place or a minor victory. As there are several of others in the area, where the ones in association of the President are getting positions. Therefore, this is a slam dunk.

The results, the victories been made on both local level and national level is a sign that the President and his associates got a strong grip on power. That the politicking and bargaining will continue, as the dynasties, the plunders and others are still in the realm of power. These people are in and around the President. He might speak vile about corruption, but some of the people he has endorsed are plunders and been charged for that.

President Duterte has won this one, nothing else to say and that the opposition are wiped out. They are really hit hard, even as the COMELEC haven’t delivered proper polls, because the announcing of official results has taken so long. This jeopardize the results and also the credibility of the polls. This is well-known facts and also is a worrying sign. It should have been done quickly and not over this long time.

Duterte should be worried about COMELEC, unless he wants that to stain his victory and possibly next election. As the Commission needs to be revamped and secured enough funds for the up-coming elections.

The President have won now, but if they want to look totally good. The COMELEC needs something, the system needs upgrades, as the days goes by, the strength of the election dwindles. Since, it shouldn’t be this hard to count the ballots. Peace.

Opinion: Seems like Duterte wins the 2019 Mid-Term Elections!

Well, if I understand the results I have seen so far, as they are only preliminary, they are in favour of the ruling party, their allies and of most of their well-wishers. Seemingly, this election is solidifying the position of President Rodrigo Duterte, not only in the Senate, but in local government too. As the wards I have seen its been all positive for him.

I might be that I am just checking in the right corners of the Republic. But he seems like winner now. That the PDP-Laban and the other allies are victors. The Independents and the Opposition many places are losing their steps.

Therefore, as this election goes, it seems that the President is just getting stronger. That is how it seems as off now, but when the official results are out. It might change, but this election seems like his.

While National Citizens Movement for Free Elections (NAMFREL) own statement earlier today have sent stern warnings from their volunteers on the way the elections was conducted in various of areas. As there was technical glitches in the voting machines, there was acknowledged of buying votes and so on. Therefore, these elections aren’t perfect, as there are certain things that still needs to be addressed. This was from their statement of 2100H Filipino Time 13th May 2019. There will be surely more statements from them and the likes. Showing the other side of the Election too.

We have to see how this goes, but by now, the results are going in favour of the President and his allies. Unless, there is a lot of unverified results hidden somewhere. This seems like a giant haul for him and nothing else.

By the time I wake up, the results might be different. But as I go to sleep, the results are surely a vindication of the Presidency, as he has more of his people in positions, not only in the Senate, but also elsewhere. Peace.
