“We want to bring about the closure of the sky because we specifically kill our people. This happens from the territory of Belarus and from the territory of Russia. These missiles, bombs, Iskanders, planes, bombers are flying” (…) “I said, if you can’t bring in the closure of the sky now, now give us a deadline – when. If you can’t give Ukrainians a deadline now for you to implement it, tell me how many people should break down? How many hands, feet, heads are needed so that they are torn off, so that they fly away to reach you, so that you close it? How much do you need? Number say! I will go, we will count, and we will wait until this moment” (…) “If you don’t have the strength to close the sky, then give me planes. If we do not, God forbid, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia will continue. Next will be Georgia, Moldova, Poland. So they will go to the Berlin Wall” (…) “I want to thank those countries that support us, transfer weapons. But it happened too late. This is the term when we spoke and asked, this term costs thousands of lives of Ukrainians” – President Volodmyr Zelensky (03.93.2022).
It has been over a week since the Russian invasion of Ukraine started. The conflict isn’t stagnating or reversing. The Russian fronts are moving forward, but at a slower pace than what the Russian themselves anticipated. As they had plans for a total surrender by 15 days.
This is Putin’s war and his associates who thrives on it. They are the ones who has issued it and wants to install a puppet regime in Kyiv. That is who the Moscow regime is and what they are willing to do.
The Kyiv government are fighting for the integrity and sovereignty, as they are on the front-line on the values of Europe and democratic principals, which Moscow or Putin doesn’t believe in. That is the reality here.
That’s why it looked for a while, that Europe and NATO only wanted to show solidarity and meaningless sanctions, which would only be for the publicity and not damage anything. However, the European nations have started to serve with weapons, equipment and other needed necessities in the conflict. As well, as allowing European citizens to fight on the Ukrainians side on the battlefield. Therefore, during the last week there been plenty of changes.
However, there is still ways to go and needed support to strengthen the underdog and the weaker party of the conflict. Ukraine will need continues support and military supplies of all sorts. The defending party needs vast military equipment, vehicles, planes and ammunition. It is not like they can carry the weight on their own shoulders that easily. When they are competing with a military giant, which happens to be Russia. It is not like the Ukrainians has the manpower or the supplies of the Russian Federation. Even if the Russians are sanctioned and financially cut off. It still has reserves and supplies, which could keep the up-keep on the front-line a long time. Even if the citizens are hurt and their pockets are left to dust.
That’s why the statements of Zelensky is important. As they are speaking of a true sentiment of the ones fighting for survival. It is not like Ukraine is just being a victim. No, they are being violated, hurt and killed on the regular now. Their cities and lives are left in the rubble of missiles and bombs. There is no peace and only a total war on their doorsteps. They need help and Europe should give whatever is necessary.
Europe needs to counter the Russian-Belorussian forces, which is invading Ukraine. Ukraine is not only as strong as the will of the people, but they can be encouraged and get the supplies than can stop the Russian from moving forward. That should be the goal of Europe and be a helping hand in the dire hour of need. It is the darkest hour and it is not the time to reconsider your stances of war.
The war is already here and we have to act accordingly. Peace.
