Opinion: Bebe Cool isn’t that special…

“The Police on Sunday, June 19, confirmed armed rogue security officers had on Saturday night raided Ntinda Police Station and freed a suspect who had been booked in after he reportedly pulled out his pistol at musician Moses Ssali popularly known as Bebe Cool. Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire admitted the incident happened and promised to get back with full details, but had not done so by press time. “We are yet to get full details of what happened, but we will brief the media on Monday (June 20),” Owoyesigyire said. The first family entertainer and who has directly campaigned for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for years. Certainly, a man like that and who has earned fortunes on the campaign trail. A man that has been a voice for the NRM and President Museveni.

He has acted like a big-man… at one point he might felt untouchable. The likes of Bebe Cool should know that everyone can be touched and yesterday his rent was due. He has played around with the upper echelons, but now he felt the bitter fruit of the reality for so many.

Yes, no one should be forced or be held at gun-point. That is something I don’t wish one my worst enemy. Still, the VIP and NRM apologist haven’t helped or cared for all the ones who has lost their lives, been tortured and arrested for their political belief in the Republic. Bebe Cool has accepted this with his silence and continues to entertain the regime.

It is not like Bebe Cool doesn’t know what the authorities and the security organizations have been doing for years. Yesterday, he just saw what sort of unites and officers that is around. Where impunity and injustice is served on a daily.

Bebe Cool must have heard about the drones, the extra judicial killings and people detained for months upon end… just for their political belief and who they are associated with. The musician just felt a pinch of what adversaries has been through. Being touched by rogue agents of the state, which is used to get away with murder. Now he felt that too and should respect what other people has gone through.

Still, Bebe Cool will live another day. It’s not like Bebe Cool has gotten treated like activists or opposition leaders. If Bebe Cool had been tear-gassed and felt the anti-riot police, heck the Special Forces Command on his tail. He would have been another breed by now.

No one should be what Bebe Cool was yesterday, but hard to feel sorry for him. Since, he has promoted the regime and they have built up this machinery. Now he felt a little bit of this viciousness and the sinister side of the state. Which we have spoken up about for years, but he has dismissed or disregarded, because the likes of him never gets to feel that pain.

Bebe Cool should await further investigation and expect this fall cold. Because, high profiled murders have never been solved either. Heck, the magical stone of Arua haven’t been answered yet either.

The musician should continue to sing the psalms of the state and hope this thing never happens again. However, he shouldn’t expect this to be resolved anytime soon, Bebe Cool needs to chill and prepare his next show. Because… his supposed to be one of them and now he felt a little touch of the harsh reality. Peace.

Opinion: Kabaka’s health ‘worries’ and lack of treatment [+ thoughts on Medical Tourism]

I don’t know what is happening with King Ronald Edward Frederick Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II, the reigning Kabaka of the Kingdom of Buganda. On the 13^th April the King was seen by the general public and the Baganda celebrated the 66^th Birthday of the King. He was clearly not well and in a worrying condition.

Today, the Royal Family issued and statement and the New Vision reported:

“In a statement issued Wednesday, siblings to the Kabaka, without offering details of his health condition, said that whereas he has been unwell, he is responding to treatment very well. “Ssabasajja (Kabaka) has been unwell for a while. However, he has responded well to the prescribed medication and his medical team is positive about his prognosis,” they said” (New Vision – ‘Kabaka unwell – Royal family’ 14.04.2021).

Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga should petition the state and ensure the safety of the Kabaka bwa Buganda who needs health care and treatment. That he feels unwell and seemingly looks weak. He does need health care. The Royal Family is saying his getting better, but his looking frail.

What is striking is that Bebe Cool aka Moses Ssali ranted after the birthday was really unique in a way. Especially for someone who is promoting and standing by the regime. His an vocal apologist and always standing by the government. Still, at this point and for the favour of the King. He had no trouble saying the Health Care in Uganda sucks. So, everyone who is an VIP and High Ranking Official should do Medical Tourism. Instead of trusting the treatment and healing at local hospitals. That really says a lot.

A regime apologist and a voice of the government. Bebe Cool says the rich and well-off is supposed to get treatment and healing from their sicknesses abroad. By saying that… his dismissing the doctors, hospitals and the health care in the Republic. That’s because he says the King needs to do this abroad. We know that the high ranking officials in the NRM have done this and opposition leaders are doing it too. They are going to the U.S., India or Nairobi to get help. That shows the state has failed Ministry of Health and its Hospitals. When this is what you say.

Yes, Kabaka seems weak and frail. It is up to the Kingdom and the Royal Family what to do. It is up to the state, if it would facilitate or help the King to get treatment on the outside of the Republic. The Katikkiro should ask or even try to through the political channels and even try to get something out of the State House.

It is natural to feel sorry for the King. He deserves to get the right treatment. I will not speculate into how he got there and what’s the reason. That is beyond me. However, this situation only shows the problems of the state and how it doesn’t take care of its citizens. The King isn’t just a high ranking official and a cultural leader, his also a citizen who deserves health care like everyone else. If it isn’t working for him it cannot work well for everyone else either.

Bebe Cool is maybe right, but at the same time his wrong. It shouldn’t be a necessity to go abroad to get help. That should first happen at home, but the state haven’t prioritised this and that’s why they need to do this in the first place.

This is a detriment to all the years of the NRM. That they cannot help its own and hasn’t the capacity to properly help the King. This means they cannot help the average citizen either. When a VIP like the Kabaka doesn’t get the treatment he really needs. Even the likes of Bebe Cool says so and his a voice of the state. His usually on the barricades for this regime and wants to spread their message. That’s why you know the state has failed. When a guy like him says this. Peace.

Opinion: Museveni is a “aguu”

Now that the polls are hastily happening, the President since 1986 suddenly wanted again to show his importance and care of the ghetto. The President have done this stunt before, as he been doing some stunts in 2019. As the President and his handlers was launching government schemes in Kibuye and Katwe, Kampala.

So, the video of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni speaking luyaye suddenly. It was not like he was in the ghetto with the ones playing Omweso in the streets of Kalerwe. Not like he was sipping some Nile Brew at a shack or run-down pub somewhere in a ghetto. No, the old man was sitting safe and soundly at the Entebbe State House. Acting like his street-smart and cares about the ghetto.

The ghetto’s of Kampala is an reflection of the failure of his administration. It is a reflection of where the wasteland of forgotten people and people seeking a new beginning in the capital. Instead of expanding on those and ensure the ones living lives there. The state is just visiting this areas, coming with minor programs and leaving them behind. The President and his cadres haven’t cared much. It is the CSOs, NGOS and UN Organizations that cover the discrepancies that the state leaves behind.

Therefore him speaking Luyaye now as a way of respecting the ghetto’s is beyond me. Speaking the supposed “anti-language” That an old man like Museveni trying to speak slang to act relevant only shows that his trying to hard. Instead of showing what he has delivered to the youth and the ghetto’s. His instead playing a character, which isn’t him.

That’s why Museveni isn’t only an outsider here, but his a “aguu” meaning either ‘thief’ or ‘prostitute’. His trying to act like a hustler on the street, but this is the richest man of the Republic. The ruler that has been living longer then the most of the people speaking Luyaye and the slang itself. Therefore, this is as disrespectful as when older lectures trying to act and speak up like the students. It sounds out of place and isn’t a bargain.

I doubt his story of working with the ghetto before the bush-war is true. As that is just a way of sounding legit now. Alas, a man who was working for the Uganda Research Bureau, was a spy and agent for the state. These people was using mental games and to interrogate people. That is not working there. Before he got a higher role in the Military Commission in 1979 and later became the Minister of Defence. Therefore, him working directly for the ghetto and the betterment before the Bush sounds like a lie too me.

Not only does he uses Luyaye to be relevant. His also using the language to speak the ones he left behind over the years. The publicity stunts and gig-economy positioning is the reason why the struggle is real. The state haven’t dropped consistent development or fixing the needs in the ghetto’s. If they had it wouldn’t be as dire as it is.

This is all done as a challenge and prove he can more Ghetto than Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. However, Bobi Wine has resided and lived in the Ghetto. Bobi Wine has grown up there and made a career from there. Something, the President never did. That is why Museveni is putting on an act.

For me, Museveni is an “aguu” and an imposter. He shows his arrogance and ignorance with this. This isn’t brilliant, but only shows his disregard of the people he tries to galvanise ahead of the polls. Peace.

Opinion: Bebe Cool thinks liquid courage can beat the pandemic…

Musician and political operative for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool is at it again. He has is own little drive to end up here. He just have to end up in headlines for all sorts of reason.

Bebe Cool is proving not be a scientist and the smartest cookie, even if his trying to prove point:

“The possibility of getting COVID-19 in a bar is less than the possibility of getting COVID in a Church, sanitizers are made from alcohol. In bars, people are drinking alcohol. Where does COVID attack someone from?” (Bebe Cool, 10.11.2020).

The alcoholics and the ones on steady liquid courage would be secure not to get COVID-19 or the Coronavirus if his statement was true. However, alcohol affects the body negatively to an extent and inhabits its strengths. Therefore, you should avoiding drinking to much. Because, that would weaken your immune system for diseases.

This is why Bebe Cool is the flirt in the bar and not the doctor hooking up with girls. So, the reality here is that Bebe Cool doesn’t know what’s his talking about. Maybe all those bottles thrown on stage has damaged his calm. Maybe his drinking has spawned some mysterious insights to the world, which we don’t get.

The alcohol in sanitizers isn’t the same as the ones you drinking. The industrial alcohol isn’t the same as the beverage. It should be stated that its dangerous to drink and could destroy body-parts. Just like it was dangerous to play around with bleach like Donald Trump said a few months back.

Bebe Cool should get enlighten before he talks. Though I know I am expecting to much. He will be his own self to his grave. This man will dance and drink every time he has a chance. This man won’t open a book and study. That would reflect bad on his judgement.

The World Health Organization (WHO) states the ordinary spread of COVID-19 is this:

“The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe heavily. These liquid particles are different sizes, ranging from larger ‘respiratory droplets’ to smaller ‘aerosols’. Other people can catch COVID-19 when the virus gets into their mouth, nose or eyes, which is more likely to happen when people are in direct or close contact (less than 1 metre apart) with an infected person” (WHO – ‘Coronavirus disease (COVID-19): How is it transmitted?’ 09.07.2020).

So, if people are close in a bar, church or anywhere else where the droplets or such are in the air. Then the ones who has it can easily transmit it to others. This means that people should avoid those places and social distance. If that means not going to the service or the happy hour at the bar. Both places are dangerous, unless people are as far as one meter from each other. That is the Math here.

Therefore, because of Bebe Cool. I have debunked two things at the time, which is needed. Because, COVID-19 isn’t a joke, but a serious hazard and a pandemic that causes a lot of pain. Until, the Vaccine is out and been implemented to stop the spread. We have to adjust our lives and secure ourselves.

This means stopping some social gatherings for a time. To ensure that the spread of the virus doesn’t persist.

So wash your hands, don’t touch your face, socially distance and stay safe. That is what we got to do these days. Also, not listen to people like Bebe Cool. That will only continue the spread of this virus. Peace.

Opinion: Bebe Cool’s bottleneck

Bebe Cool aka Moses Ssali came into issues this weekend as he participated in a concert in Kampala. Not that this is shocking, as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) friendly artist and mobilizer. We are talking about rowdy youths and civilians throwing bottle at someone who defends a tyrant and supports the tyranny he runs. Therefore, my sympathy for the man is very low.

However, this is the recent report on the matter:

“The police have arrested 11 suspects for attempting to disrupt a music concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval over the weekend. Police says the suspects are accused of booing and pelting Bebe Cool with bottles while performing at the Boom Party Music concert” (09.03.2020).

We also know that Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations Muhoozi Kainerubaga came out in defence of the musician and wondered why the Police Force hadn’t arrested anyone in association with this. Clearly, they got the memo and captured 11 people from the event.

What is special about this, is that it is a non-issue. It is side-show. This is not important. Not at all. There are people who are arbitrary arrested, tortured and killed by the authorities. While, Bebe Cool asks for sympathy and good vibes.

Like we should feel sorry for this man? Really?

Yes it is bad throw bottles at someone. First, at least he gets to performed, get to spread his message and show his loyalty to the President. If your a critic and wants to grab the mike, you get singing into the pen. That is just the way it is, if not you get taken away without any warrants, moved between prisons and suddenly dropped off with bruises and needle holes. That is just what the state does to you.

It is not like Bebe Cool doesn’t deserve free speech, nevertheless, so does everyone else. The same day he cries foul over the weekends actions. There is reports that a opposition sporting event was cancelled, because VP Ssekandi was holding rallies or whatnot in the same area and the old man couldn’t have competition. The NRM is allowed to do everything, while the others are blocked. This is why there is little care for the likes Bebe Cool.

Bebe Cool can do everything. He can knock-up the daughters of the President even. He can do whatever without any consequence. His one of them. His the loyal water-boy. They threw a few bottle on him, but not like he needs treatment in India for the torture. Neither is he mentally fatigued by it. No one has blocked him to pass through Kololo or pass through any neighbourhood in Kampala. Not been arrested or even had people associated with him detained.

No, everything is just COOL with Bebe Cool. The man of the hour, the man of the 86ers and the whole brigade of Yellow. The Silent Majority, which isn’t that silent. They cry like babies over banana flies, but wouldn’t save a famine, except if it hit Mbarara. That is just the way it is.

Call your master up Bebe Cool, You can be like your name sake: “Let My People Go”. Maybe even cross the river and see the promised land. Because, your enemies never seem to get there. You should ask your man to stop these bottle and maybe block them from being at the venues. No more bottles at concerts or rallies. They are banned from entering. Just like People Power and FDC is not allowed to operate. That seems like fitting the bill. Peace.

Lt. Gen. Tumukunde: Another NRM big-man aiming at the throne

Today, Lieutenant General Henry Tumukunde has unleashed his will and determination to stand as a Presidential aspirant in the upcoming election of 2021. This is not new that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) have some big-men falling out. However, they have usually gotten back into the fold and gotten new chairs to fill.. 

Lt. Gen. Tumukunde is a long-term NRA/M, who has served in various of positions and held a high regard in the circles around the President. He has failed, gotten sacked and gotten into trouble. However, always had the ability to return and get in the good graces. In May 2018 with his latest role was being the Minister of Security. Also, we know something is up, when the aide to Tumukunde is releasing the information of him loosing military guards at his house in Kololo. That happened about a week ahead of the letter to the Electoral Commission on the 28^th February 2020.

With regards to this, I’m not fooled. There been plenty of decoys in the past too. Even NRA historical of John Nagenda have been critical of the President, but still in good graces in the end. Surely, Tumukunde following a long line of Presidential candidates, who in the end looking for a new avenue for work after the elections. We are even seeing Amama Mbabazi returning to Museveni and getting closer like kin. Surely, Tumukunde wants those perks too.

In 2011, the former Local Government Minister Jaberi Bidandi Ssali was a Presidential Candidate as an opposition candidate. His the father of Bebe Cool, so we know that the NRM loyalties aren’t far from each other. Even as Ssali was known for talking against Museveni for never retiring, still he wasn’t anything the President feared in the polls. He was a former Minister who wouldn’t dare to insult his former master.

In 2015, there was two former high ranking NRM leaders who suddenly stood as Independents. This being Gilbert Bukenya and Amama Mbabazi. Both of these we’re high ranking officials. Bukenya went straight independent and even tried to swing the The Democratic Alliance (TDA) his way. Mbabazi tried to get a position in the Primaries in 2015. However, that is not how the game in the NRM works. That is why Mbabazi was clipped of his wings, both as the Secretary General of the NRM and also of his powerful role as the Prime Minister.

Now, Tumukunde is doing the same, as Ssali, Bukenya and Mbabazi has done. Some says its daring and inspiring. Some says its special for these men to aim at the king. Well, there is no succession and no parts to play internally. So, they got to be loose canons to ever try. However, these gentlemen knows that the President rigs and they will never achieve the goal. It is a battle they are bound to loose.

So, why do it? Is it to get the attention and possible be a part of the NRM NEC or something? Do they want a perky position and get back in the good graces? Is that it all?

Does Tumukunde want the cool headlines, that he visited the President at his farm? Is that all he wants out of life?

We all know, he has no shot to win. There is no winning in this, unless he wants to become the next Beti Kamya or something. If he wants a minor role in a mushrooming cabinet after 2021 elections. To be paid-off handsomely…

Well, this is not a drill, but is a curiosity. It will be bloody, it will be tested and he will be in trouble. However, in the end, he will kiss the ring and go back to his master. That is what they do.

Lt. Gen. will need to eat after 2021. He will return, it is just a matter of time and what he is on the menu. Peace.

Opinion: The Ghetto is not yet verified by the State House

“However, in response, Nakyobe told the MPs that there is no official or formal communication from the President, regarding the appointment of Catherine Kusasira and Butcher man as his presidential advisers.“As far as I’m concerned it is still a pronouncement that has not yet been put in writing, therefore, Kusasira and Butcher man are not yet staff of State House until when we have it in writing and then we shall have a normal process of their recruitment,” Nakyobe explained” (Henry Sekanjako – ‘Kusasira, Butcher man, Full Figure not our employees – State House’ 18.01.2020, New Vision).

When you do public stunts and sudden political moves like President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni did in regards to the Ghetto Superstars of Kusasira, Butchaman and Jennifer Full Figure. They are not official Presidential Advisors, even if they consider themselves as big-men already.

Therefore, what is really weird is the reports of 600 millions shillings first salary in cash and also SUV Cars. This is really heavy spending on these three, which is not even official or on the payroll of the State House. A State House, which already has over 170 Presidential Advisors on its payroll. Not like these three would make a huge difference in the asked funds for the next financial year. And in that regard, the State House usually get at least one Supplementary Expenditure or budgets for the up-coming elections. Don’t be shocked or surprised by that.

That is why, the President and State House acts like this. Not like its a big whoop, but still substantial. That the President doesn’t act accordingly to protocol and now someone else has to sort it out. Unless, suddenly there will come a letter of formality and sort this one out. As it is embarrassing.

This show how the State House and the Republic is run by a one-man brigade. One man with one vision. Nothing else is holding it up. They are all supposed to dance to his tune. Surely, these people will be paid. The State House will not humiliate the President and his will to “ghetto”. Even if the President will always be more of cow herder, than a man of the Ghetto. But because of Bobi Wine he will sing tales of the streets, the murky roads and the potholes. However, it will not be a tale he lived, because he never did.

That is why he has hired these people. Why he has handpicked them and is using them as tools for his upcoming elections. Soon, they will be on the lists of Presidential Advisors, but they are only needed tokens and they will be used as bargain chips. Not because they are smart, neither because they have much to offer, but because serve one cause. That he has them, as a representation of what his not.

It is always a reason, some are hard to digest. Others are easy access. This one is slim pickings. Peace.

Hypocrisy: Capt. Mukula Team holds a Semi-Rally and Concert in Serere District!

Captain Mike Mukula, the owner of Voice of Teso was able to hold rallies in Serere District and concerts sponsored by him too. That all happen under the guise of promoting the radio station with artists like Bebe Cool. Bebe Cool is a official mobilizer for the NRM party. That shows levels of hypocrisy, which the state is in. So, it was a semi-National Resistance Movement rally at the Serere District Headquarters.

That it happen now on the 18^th January 2020. Is really insulting to the troubles of others to hold consultation meetings and do party work itself without any issues. Mukula has been able to gain a lot of power within the leadership and the State House. As his been able to get vast fortunes on corruption scandals, even been serving time in jail for that. Still, his still in the inner circle of power and has never left.

That is why the likes of the Captain and his ‘Voice of Teso’ is allowed to hold concerts and rallies. Even if the grace of the owner and political juggernaut Mukula. While also Bebe Cool was also allowed to address the crowds in Serere District.

That there was no police force, no toilets, no sniffer dogs and not any proof of applications for a formal announcement from the Electoral Commission with notification. Neither, any proof of following the Public Order Management Act (POMA). Since, they just announced the whole trip and promotion tour in Serere, but seemingly needed no paperwork. Even made a concert into a semi-rally. If the FDC or Bobi Wine even did this, they would be ambushed or blocked from doing so.

It shows the double standard. However, that is not new, as the state party can act as they want too. While the opposition has to beg for meeting and greeting outside of campaign season. While the state can organize any sort of function, for any sort of figure of the party and call it a day. That is what this is. As the Voice of Teso is like a privately owned “state radio”, as they working for the things the NRM does too. Peace.
