Opinion: The Legend of Sipapa [and 10 years of unknown wealth]

“Police say they are hunting for city socialite Charles Olim commonly known as Sipapa. Sipapa has been trending on social media, with many accusing him and his entourage of flouting traffic rules and hitting other motorists’ cars while others claim he is untouchable” (NBS Television, 14.03.2022).

“There are several people working in the NRM, why is it only me being given money? And there is no problem even if I am funded. My mother was a rich lady, Wherever she might have passed, you never know I might be the president’s son and you just don’t know. Why are people so concerned to know our private matters? – Sipapa” (Josh Ruby – ‘What if I’m the president’s son? – Sipapa’ 14.03.2022).

Nobody knows where his from or how he got here. Some calls the man a tycoon, other a music promoter and others a socialite. His birth name is Charles Olim alias Sipapa. Who has a dozens of fancy cars and motorcycles. Said to flash money and visible for the elites of Kampala.

When Canary Mugume, the NBS Television journalist calls him “untouchable” you know something is up. This is just the newly minted edition of Brian White. The money, the cars and the privilege.

Sipapa is nothing special. His tales will not go down in history or become a folk tale. His just another of the typical men who burns the candle at both ends. That’s why his ending up in car crashes, driving vehicles without license plate and proving himself as a big man in front of the People Power supporters and on the premises of Fred Nyanzi in Kamwokya in Kampala in 2020. So, it is not like these days are the first of controversy.

His the sort of fella who has often gotten into trouble, because of how reckless he drives and his mountain of arrogance. That’s why he can call himself a “son” of the President and a son of a rich “blesser”. We don’t know if his just a boy-toy or a flamboyant business-man. He just suddenly had wealth and was in the public eye.

We don’t know if this man is a knock-off Balaam or is a fraudster. He can be whatever he claims to be or just another short-term expenditure for some hot-shot in the NRM party. Since he has violated people with his car in the past, but never been punished for it. Therefore, the investigations into it by the Kampala Metropolitan Police has gone nowhere and it’s not shocking at all.

He surely had drama like in 2018, when he was caught in between his own artist and lover Zani Brown. As Sipapa was also sharing relations Brown Shuga, as this was reported by entertainment media at the time. So, this man is a mess no matter where he goes.

Sipapa has flaunted his wealth online since at least 2018. This is four years of controversy, but he has made a name of himself since 2012, which Kampala Sun reports like this:

“Upon arrival in Kampala, Sipapa established his base in Makindye and for a while worked as a music promoter. He at one time hired top musicians, including Bobi Wine. In 2012, Sipapa engaged some ‘noisy’ media personalities, who thrust him in the faces of the unsuspecting public. Whether money exchanged hands in this engagement will not be debated here, but the lithe-bodied man got the fame he craved for. Media personalities were often with him in hangouts, were part of his money throwing parties, and word was that he gave some cars and expensive gadgets. To the public, he still remained a mystery” (Paul Waiswa – ‘Sipapa: Young, rich and dangerous?’ 11.11.2021, The Kampala Sun).

So, yes, he is busy with music and opting in friendly relations with his female artists. That is recorded and published. The rest of the story of the socialite and his supposed wealth is a myth. Just like his story and whatever he did. Yes, he came to Kampala from Tororo and made a name for himself.

However, if this will last or not … that is something we cannot know. His useful for someone right now. If hadn’t or had a use… he would linger in jail and wouldn’t be that confident. We all saw how hard Brian White fell and Sipapa can easily be the next. Especially, when his that flamboyant and when his no longer useful …. he will dropped quickly.

Right now for some reason he might have some suction or sort of connection with high ranking officials. Since he feels untouchable. Nevertheless, Sipapa will follow Balaam, Brian White, Abdullah Kitatta or Ashburg Katto.

One minute, your a hot commodity and the next second a used condom. Peace.

Opinion: Ashburg Katto needs a new meal-ticket

He is at it again and in the news. The blogger Ashburg Katto or by his government name Ashiraf Ndagimana Gatto. The former People Power blogger and founder of Ghetto TV. We know he left Bobi Wine and the People Power Movement, as he turned to music promoter Baalam and GCIC Duncan Abigaba. As the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Museveni wanted to purge the people around Bobi Wine.

That’s why Ashburg have gone totally YELLOW. He is more yellow than MTN. Making things smell NRM and acting like a forever mascot of the Movement. He has joined the causes of the government and been a vocal supporter.

However, Ashburg have forgotten his place. He has just been in the good graces for over a year. It was last year before the polls the state purged him to hurt the cause of Bobi Wine. They promised him great platform and become a useful person to them.

Nevertheless, Ashburg doesn’t seem to understand his place. He has been useful ahead of the elections and been a good look for the NRM. Now, after the polls and when things turns back-to-normal. His services isn’t that important.

Ashburg Katto doesn’t seem to get this. His services and blogging isn’t that valued by the NRM. It is like he had to be violated and hurt by a police officer to see it. He needed to be beaten by the authorities to know what this government does. Like he haven’t seen how the same government have acted towards its citizens or systematic injustice, which it has been doing for years. Also, how the current regime have acted with the SOPs and COVID-19 regulations. That’s why the blogger should have been careful himself.

As he was thinking about his role after being beaten. He questioned himself and actually stated “I thought I was of a little value to my government. I was wrong”. I hate to break it too you. You don’t add much or is important. If you were anything of that kind you would have been appointed or even got a bigger role.

The President and NRM used Ashburg. The sad part is that he didn’t get it and whatever he does now. He sold out and cashed in… the blogger wasted his potential and what leverage he had. That was traded and now he got nothing.

The launching of a Bloggers Association is fine. Nevertheless, that seems like another scheme to deserve precious funding. Just like the Yellow Influencers and whatnot before the polls. Ashburg should know that his value hasn’t added, but tragically decreased. Since the polls are over and his role as a pawn to hurt Bobi Wine is sort of over. The state can use other means to hurt his party and his platform now.

They don’t need people like Ashburg. They have moved-on, but Katto cannot do that. This is all he got and he got to find a way. Unless, his able to get hired by Abigaba, anyone in the GCIC or elsewhere on the propaganda outlets of the state. As the blogger has pandered to these for months now. Peace.

Opinion: Three Stooges and One State House

At this point, we are hearing so much about the conflict between Andrew Alfonso Mukasa a.k.a Bajjo Events, Balaam Barugahara Atenyi and Cathrine Kusasira within the State House. It had to even be addressed by Ashburg Katto on NBS Television. That is how low these people are taking it.

They have all reached the upper echelon for one reason. To hurt the campaign of Bobi Wine and have some useful ghetto people. This is all to counteract the standing Bobi Wine has as the “Ghetto President”. Before this, the State House and the President wouldn’t even given these people the time or the day.

That Balaam is supposed to block Kusasira from accessing the President. Balaam who has also been coordinating as a “Social Media Coordinator” together with Gen. Salim Selah. As they together was giving food to the NRM Friendly “Media”, the “Yellow Influencers” and Vloggers. That happened earlier this year in May 2020.

So, the Presidential Advisor Kusasira is suddenly blocked from the President. By a guy who has suction to the President. Balaam clearly has powerful friends and not just a simple appointment. This is why Ashburg Katto is speaking today as well. Since, he got covered by the NRM and the State House. When he went from Bobi Wine to the NRM.

These are all useful idiots, stooges or even chumps. They are all thinking they are so special and unique, because the President has appointed them or given them a role. However, that is only for a short time. They are not elected, not hand-picked, but only done to damage an opposing candidate.

IF Bobi Wine hadn’t run for office or challenged the President. Their political career wouldn’t have existed. These people wouldn’t have been close to the State House. Unless, they were suddenly having concerts and entertainment for dignitaries. If not making another gig-song ahead of the election year.

These people aren’t winning anything. It is just about how much they are not loosing. Sooner or later they will loose relevance for the “high above” and will be left crying. If they are already bickering and complaining. It will get much worse, as bigger men and more vicious who has been left behind by this man.

The President could easily make them “honourable” and as easy make them a “civilian” again. That will happen with time. Neither, if these ones like it or not. They are getting a short-time in the spotlight this way. These people will not suddenly be granted all their wishes and become big-men. They might think so themselves. However, these stooges are being used by one State House.

If you know, now you know. Politics are a cold cynic game and these ones are prepared for the reality. If they bickering about small stuff now. It will become much harder… it is just a matter of time. Peace.

Opinion: Ashburg gone Full Figure!

Again, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni plots a big stunt on Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. Last time it was Jennifer Nakanguubi aka Jennifer Full Figure who went from a vocal People Power activists onto a Presidential Advisor in October 2019. Now, its gone a few months and the National Resistance Movement and the President continues to scheme.

This time its the Ghetto TV founder (since 2017), the blogger (since forever) and social media activist Ashburg Katto. His been been called an local attention seeker. His been using his platform for all sorts of reason. However, his been known as a supporter and activists for Bobi Wine and the People Power Movement.

So, his known and during last year he saw the dark side of the regime. As he was arrested, detained and gone missing for while. Therefore, its not like the man doesn’t know what sort of characters they have and what sort of action it does to their enemies. His seen what the authorities done to other People Power activists, leaders and members. Not like he haven’t seen it and spread the word about the impunity against it.

That is why today its more hurtful. It’s like he knows the ills of society, but still joins forces with the ones who oppress the public. Instead of holding on and pushing for change. His going into “steady progress” and getting a quick pay-off from the NRM. He gets a few cows, gets his name in bold with big-men, but at the same time loosing his edge and personality.

He becomes the Ghetto TV personality who went all red into yellow. That is a move and a decision. Just like he showed some of it with him joining forces with Duncan Abigaba, Deputy Head of Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC). The man behind the NRM Social Media Task-Force. Together with him and Promoter Balaam he decided to cover “Yellow Influencers” with food during the COVID-19 Lockdown now earlier in May 2020. This supported by son-of-the-president Muhoozi Kainerubaga.

So now, its taken further. Ashburg isn’t only associated with “Yellow Influencers”. His gotten cows from the President. Spent time with the President on his farm and said his joined the NRM. That means the man whose supposed to be behind Bobi Wine. Has signed off to the President and his team. All it took was the play of some food deliveries to loyal social media influencers, writers and bloggers.

We knows his on the bus now. His a yellow and not a People Power Movement guy. His even praising Sevo and going for Mission 2021.

Again, the President has pulled a trick. Giving a very little and taking away someone from the opposition. Instead of having Ashburg Katto as a credible voice in the opposition. He will turn into the new Canary Mugume or Andrew Mwenda. Don’t expect any genius attempt of reasoning, only self serving enigma now. Where he will be the victim if he gets called out.

Since his supposed to be allowed to change party and change his views. However, that is allowed and people are changing parties with time. Nevertheless, this man knows how far the NRM and the state uses the authorities to quell opposition. So, to join forces with them after being an ally to the rising star Bobi Wine. He should know better, but instead he does this.

Just because he has Ghetto Initiative. Another ghetto maverick the President strings along to Bobi Wine. Like this man will destroy the support and the message of Bobi Wine. It won’t, but what it does. It shows how little the President has to give to make people switch sides.

Not like the President offered him a lot. No, he didn’t give him a title or a official salary. Just some cows and listening to his Ghetto Initiative. His not a Presidential Advisor, nor appointed to be part of the NRM SOMA or anything. No, just small tokens of silver. Even Judas Iscariot got better paid for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

So, we now know. It was already shady that he was part of the joint venture this month with Balaam and Abigaba giving food to “Yellow Influencers”. Now its official. Peace.

‘Yellow Influencers’ Get a Food-Drive!

Last year in 2019, there was reports of a new Social Media Task Force for the National Resistance Movement (NRM), which had up to that point hired 49 people. The NRM already had their Social Media Activists (SOMA). So, they had two units work in co-ordination with each other. This is all attempts to steer the narrative and control the air-waves. Not new in that regard, but using modern methods to hit the public with information.

Just like all the other entities, which are government friendly press like the New Vision Group. The UBC, Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC) and Uganda Media Centre to name a few.

In these COVID-19 lockdown times. The NRM together with the leader of the pack of the NRM Social Media Task Force, Duncan Abigaba have shown that they are feeding 245 bloggers. This is done through the kindness of Muhoozi Kainerubaga or the friends of him. They call them “Yellow influencers or bloggers” because that paint the picture. Even the blogger of Ashburg Katto is in the mix, so it seems its not far from the prison-cell to eating of the hand of the system.

These people will be instrumental to get the right vision ahead of the General Election of 2021. This is why they are even now doing deliveries and feeding them food. They are getting serviced by the state for a purpose. Because, these influencers can sway public opinion on social media and various of platforms. That is why Promoter Baalam and the Social Media Task Force of Abigaba is involved in this.

This is ensuring loyalty, as the payment of some rice and other foods during the pandemic. Will remind these Yellow Influencers whose their friends. They got to eat in the midst of it all, because hey are useful right now and in the future. Their platforms on the various of social media will be vital.

Its like 120 personalities on Social Media and about 120 bloggers, which is getting this treatment. This means these people are included and selected out, because of their writing and their content. This is because Duncan handpicked them and know what their up too.

That is what is striking is the amount of effort and to show their names on social media. These is our folks and comrades. Just go into Duncan Abigaba page on Facebook and the whole list will appear. It expose the ninjas writing and working directly for the NRM.

The Yellow Influencers if you may. The friends of Muhoozi is allowed to give these foods without any reinforcement of police nor any meetings with authorities. Because, they are working in-directly for the efforts for the state. This is partisan politics at its best. That information is being dropped on the day the UPF disclaim everything about Zaake whose healing after torture. That is the sort of state the Republic is in.

Where Yellow Influencers can get a food-drive by the Son-of-the-President. But opposition doing the same to his constituents are healing in the hospital after meeting the authorities. That is the double standard and the realities on the ground.

That Baalam and Abigaba is above Zaake is now clear as day. That the Yellow Influencers are important is clear too. They will be a tool into the elections and the campaigns, spreading the message of the “Yellow Bastard”. Peace.
