Sudan: Forces of Freedom and Change – Important Statement (06.02.2022)

At the outset, we have mercy on the souls of the martyrs of the Sudanese revolution, and we wish a speedy recovery for the injured and a safe return for the missing.

The glorious December revolution came after a strong and arduous struggle by the daughters and sons of the Sudanese people, to crown the Sudanese dream of building a state of freedom, peace and justice.

Since one of the most important goals of the glorious December revolution was to achieve a successful civil and democratic transition, it was necessary to fulfill the requirements of this transition, most notably the dismantling of the June 30, 1989 regime in favor of the state of all Sudanese and returning the looted funds to the mandate of the Ministry of Finance.

Then came the birth of the Committee to dismantle the regime of the thirtieth of June 1989 and the recovery of public funds as a fruit of the blessed December revolution, which bore upon it the restoration of rights to the people who were stricken by the fires of injustice from the regime of the thirtieth of June 1989, which plundered the country’s resources and wealth and made them spoils for the members of the Islamic movement it also enabled its membership in all parts of the state, which required the dismantling of the former regime in order for the state to regain its independence and return to the public treasury the looted resources.

Upon its formation, the committee organized its work axes to include all sectors of corruption and confront its various forms. Despite the weak support that remained inherent to the committee’s work, it performed its required duties in a way that raised the concern of the enemies of the dismantling project and the owners of conflicting interests and so on.

Perhaps the most prominent files that the committee worked on were the termination of the services of the dissolved party’s employees who obtained public office through party loyalty and social empowerment, which showed positive indicators in the institutions that were subject to this, and the effectiveness of the counter-revolution within these institutions decreased.

When discussions arose about how the committee works, and that the proper method should be done through the judicial organs (judicial and prosecution), our response was based on our knowledge of these organs that they are not qualified and are also one of the arms of the former regime and this is what we are all witnessing today.

The committee has made great efforts to achieve the goals entrusted to it, and dealt painful blows to the financial networks of the former regime and its symbols, and it has stripped large numbers of its leaders, influential individuals and stakeholders associated with it, of property, land and companies that they illegally acquired.

In addition to recovering the funds and investments that the regime granted to the movements affiliated with the international organization of the Muslim Brotherhood, which are the steps that made the committee a target for the malicious campaigns launched by the media machine of the former regime and the interest groups that were harmed by the committee’s decisions with the intention of undermining it and discrediting it.

Undoubtedly, the work of the committee to dismantle the regime of June 30, 1989 and recover public funds had the most prominent role in resorting to the putschists to implement their plan and blocking the path to completing the task, which reached advanced and articulated stages.

For example, what happened in the banking system and the central bank had a major role in stabilizing the exchange rate, in addition to the file of mining and the file of companies owned by the security services, and public sector companies that were seized by the military.

Today we are witnessing a turbulent return of the dissolved party members whose service was terminated by the Committee to once again control the joints of state institutions, and to restore their control over the recovered funds that transferred the work of the Committee to the Ministry of Finance with the help of the work of the Appeals Committee whose formation has been suspended for two years, but it was formed after a hasty coup to blow up the decisions taken by the committee, and the money was returned by the putschists after the employees of the former regime linked to the security apparatus, by order of our people, returned to the judiciary, the prosecution and the judicial department that transgressed the law.

Where the coup d’état froze the committee’s work and formed a committee from the remnants of the former regime to review its work. It assigned its chairmanship to the cadre of the Islamic movement and the first undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Abdullah Ibrahim Ali Ismail, who was the Minister of Finance in the state of South Kordofan during the period of Major General Security Mufaddal, the governor of South Kordofan state, and the current director of the General Intelligence Service, until the fall of the regime, the committee continued the same dirty propaganda war through media leaks aimed at casting doubt on the work of the dismantling committee.

The forces of apostasy return with all their meanness and criminality to the tanks of the revolutionaries, and they are re-empowered by all state institutions, its economy and its wealth.

A state of citizenship, freedom, peace and justice. Our call for the unity of all the revolutionary forces in a broad front to bring down the coup and the forces of apostasy.

The people are stronger and apostasy is impossible

Sudan: Sudanese Professionals Association – Press Statement (04.02.2022)

The Sudanese Professionals Association received an invitation to meet with Mr. Volker Peretz, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the UNITAMS Mission in Sudan. This invitation came to reflect on the initiative.

The assembly had previously issued a statement in which it clarified its principled position rejecting the so-called dialogue initiative launched by Volcker, it is far from the demands of the revolution and the slogans raised by the forces of the live revolution in the face of the coup of the Security Committee and its allies, which aims to complete the process of reproducing the Islamic Front system with new interfaces to block the revolution and militarize the state and continue to steal the rich resources of our country.

The Sudanese Professionals Association announces its refusal to meet with Mr. Volcker and his delegation. The gathering adheres to what it announced from the first moment of the October 25, 2021 coup, that it should be overthrown and those involved in it from the military, militia leaders and civilians be brought to justice in special courts, and the establishment of the people’s full civil authority on constitutional legitimacy and a new revolution in order to implement the project of radical change and real democratic transformation, and to make the goals of the glorious December revolution a reality.

We summarize our response to the invitation in the following points:

1/ The UNITAMS mission did not fulfill its mission as per the mandate given to it by the UN Security Council to support and monitor the democratic transition. In the country, it did not take the desired position by condemning the coup of the Security Committee of the National Islamic Front regime on October 25, 2021 AD. Rather, the mission and its head sought to support it and the shameful recognition of the authority of the coup and its leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, it also worked to impose and consolidate the agreement legitimizing the coup rejected by the people between Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and Dr. Abdullah Hamdok on November 21, 2021 AD, positions that contradict the mission’s mandate and tasks, and are considered an unfortunate alignment with the junta of generals, militia leaders and warlords in the face of our rebellious people’s aspirations for civilian rule. And the independence of the political and economic decision, which confirms the inability of the mission and its head to play its role in supporting and monitoring the democratic transition in the country.

2/ The initiative launched by Mr. Volcker, the mandate and tasks of the UNITAMS mission, took a position of neutrality towards the military coup in its call for dialogue and communication between the “Sudanese parties”. It is an illegal position, according to the mission stipulated for the mission and the mission of the United Nations in support of peace and democracy, and a fraud that seeks to equate the junta of revolutionaries who commit crimes, atrocities and massacres on a daily basis against our people, and the vast, rebellious components of our people aspiring to solid civil rule.

A decent life in Sudan is freedom, peace and justice, which makes the initiative a purely open attempt to save the putschists and add a false legitimacy to their authority, and an outright hostility to the goals of the revolutionary forces that offered precious sacrifices, blood, sweat and tears for liberation from dictatorship and the rule of parasites.

The masses of the Sudanese people, and we are at the heart of them and to them, raised the slogan: “No negotiation, no partnership, no legitimacy” in the face of the coup forces, and affirmed that there is no way but to bring down all the putschists through our people’s diverse and proven means of peaceful resistance, and was confident to move forward to seize the national authority. Pure civil through revolutionary legitimacy and its establishment according to a new constitutional situation, which undermines the theoretical premises of Mr. Volcker’s initiative and mission, in its frantic quest to recycle the approach of the crisis partnership and the buried constitutional document that our people brought to their place in the dustbin of history.

Based on the lessons of our people and their glorious revolution in its throes and its continuity and our keenness to reach its goal, any attempt to return to the situation before October 25, 2021 AD from partnership or negotiation with the military is rejected, and we will confront it and bring it down with our proud people and its living revolutionary forces.

The Sudanese Professionals Association’s visions have been explained in detail in previous meetings with the UNITAM mission, and the assembly’s positions on the current situation in Sudan are known and published through our media platforms, and the assembly does not see any need for additional meetings with the mission and its head, especially with the aforementioned categorical, strict and principled rejection of the initiative.

Sudan: Forces of Freedom and Change – Press release from the Central Council meeting (03.02.2022)

The Central Council calls for the escalation of revolutionary mass action and regional and international solidarity to defeat the coup.

The Central Council for Freedom and Change calls for the speedy formation of a unified coordinating center for the revolutionary forces to defeat the coup and establish a new civil authority.

The attack on freedom and change in order to demonize it is an abomination from the work of the revolutionaries, and it will go unheeded with them.

Our position on the work of the putschists to re-empower the former regime is to confront it fiercely, and there is nothing left for the coup authority but to restore Al-Bashir!

Attempts to break up the strategic partnership between Freedom and Change and the Resistance Committees will only serve the revolutionaries.

The Central Council values the unity of 11 important professional bodies and considers it a strategic addition to the work of freedom and change and the forces of revolution.

The disruption of the school year and the suffering of students and students must find our attention.

The failure of the agricultural season, the spread of poverty and the economic collapse due to the coup should be placed at the forefront of the resistance agenda.

Today, Thursday, February 3, 2022, the periodic meeting of the Central Council of the Forces of Freedom and Change was held in Omdurman, where it discussed in detail the issues of the political current in the country, and the meeting concluded the following:

The meeting saluted the valor of our people, who are waging a battle of freedom and dignity against the coup authority, in rejection of tyranny and a request to complete the glorious December revolution and to achieve its goals. The coalition confirmed that the excessive violence used by the coup authority in the face of the peaceful mass movement he will not lose his back and will not force him to retreat or break. The martyrs of the glorious revolution, the wounded, the missing and the detainees are signs that light the way for us, and it is our duty to achieve their goals, which is what motivates us to walk shoulder to shoulder with our people until victory for their legitimate demands is achieved.

The meeting emphasized the continuation of the coalition’s efforts to build the broadest front to defeat the coup, revived the cities and states that organized themselves, increased the pace of resistance and developed formulas for popular unity among its revolutionary forces, and renewed the call for all the revolution’s forces to end all their minor differences and to form a unified coordinating center its minimum program is to resist and defeat the coup and establish democratic civil authority on its ruins.

The meeting focused on the nature of the campaign launched by the coup authorities against the forces of freedom and change in order to dismantling it and creating a state of fragmentation in the midst of the forces of the revolution, which we will confront by preserving our unity and developing the work of the alliance reform and contribute to building the broad, united front, and accordingly, the calls that work on demonizing, treason, and repenting the forces of freedom and change are only synonymous with the calls issued by the counter-revolutionary forces, and they are an abomination from the work of the revolutionaries that will go with them.

The meeting followed the developments of the return of the former regime elements from the gate of the October 25 coup, which is being taken in accelerated measures to re-empower them from the joints of the state and to cancel the work done by the dismantling committee during the last period. We will confront these attempts, as the rescue system was buried by the will of our people, life will not be written for him again with the wishes of the revolutionaries, who have nothing left but to bring back Al-Bashir!

The coalition valued the important step taken by the Sudanese Professionals Association in uniting 11 of its important bodies today, and moving forward on the path of restoring its full unity, expanding its base and reviewing its experience.

This step is going in the right direction and giving the required signal at this time, which is what thwarts the attempts of the revolutionaries to break up the mass movement and obstruct the steps of its unity.

The meeting decided to continue the effort initiated by the Executive Office of the Forces of Freedom and Change Alliance to communicate with international and regional actors to mobilize support for the revolution of our people.

Through its channels and institutions and by working closely with the Sudanese of the diaspora, the meeting also confirmed its welcome to the speeches of influential and important figures in the US Congress hearing in support of the Sudanese revolution.

The meeting saluted the valiant resistance of the Northern Gears in their response to their usurped rights as a result of the coup, confronting the repressive machine, stopping production, international support, the deterioration of the pound, the rise in security spending to suppress the peaceful revolution and the exacerbation of the budget deficit.

October 25 coup cover

This looting coincides with the leadership of the country’s coup d’état on the path to a rapid economic collapse, whose features became clear in the depreciation of the pound, the failure of the agricultural season, and an increase in the pace of the deterioration of the living situation.

The meeting condemned the violent campaign launched by the security authorities against activists and political actors.

Against activists and political actors.

Of the arrests and violation of rights, which affected an estimated number of leaders of the resistance committees, the forces of freedom and change and the various components of the forces of the revolution. The school year is disrupted and the suffering of students and students must find our attention and millions of families are affected by it.

We pay attention and millions of families are affected by it and hundreds of thousands of pupils and students and the exacerbation of educational loss and the deterioration of education.

Sudan: Forces of Freedom and Change – Statement (29.01.2022)

In the past few days, we have seen statements attributed to leaders of the Sudanese Communist Party, which contained positions on the contacts made by the forces of freedom and change, and in communication with the masses of our people and appropriating the facts, we would like to clarify the following:

First: In the past two years, the Alliance of Freedom and Change Forces went through many challenges that affected its unity and cohesion, and the various parties to the alliance remained aware and aware of these difficulties, so they engaged in a deep dialogue prior to the coup that resulted in the reunification of the alliance through the political declaration that was signed on September 8, 2021. M ,

Which the military component worked to disrupt at the time and did not succeed, because all parties to the coalition signed the political declaration, except for limited forces, most notably the Sudanese Communist Party and the Justice and Equality Movement led by Dr. Jibril Ibrahim and the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Moni Arko Minawi.

Second: After the coup of October 25 and the courageous popular response to the coup, the forces of freedom and change put forward the slogan of establishing the broadest popular front to defeat the coup and immediately began contacting all the revolution forces, including resistance committees, professionals and political forces, including the Communist Party, with whom informal contacts were initially made, as a result, he requested an official address, which took place last December, when the Communist Party responded by refusing to meet with Freedom and Change at the time.

Third: This rejection of the invitation was followed by a media attack by the leadership of the Sudanese Communist Party on freedom and change in many platforms, and this battle waged by the Communist Party moved to many sectors among the forces of the revolution, which prompted us in the forces of freedom and change to study and evaluate this position, as we saw the danger of the revolutionary forces descending into battles among themselves, and accordingly, we decided to send a delegation to the General Center of the Communist Party to hold a direct meeting that includes a frank discussion about the unity of the revolutionary forces and their obstacles.

The alliance was represented by Professors Babiker Faisal and Yasser Arman, who visited the headquarters of the Communist Party on Tuesday, January 25, and met with the leadership of the party represented by Professors Seddik Yusef and Sir Babu,

They conducted an extensive discussion in which the Communist Party renewed its position of refusing to meet the forces of freedom and change together, with their proposal at the time to meet the components of freedom and change individually. This is something that the forces of freedom and change denounce and do not realize what the interest of any party of the revolution forces is in the disintegration of the alliance and the division between its components!!

Fourth: We, in the Alliance of Freedom and Change Forces, deeply regret the position of the Communist Party against the unity of the forces of the revolution, and we affirm that this position is directly in the interest of the coup authority, which harnesses all its organs to break up the civil and democratic forces.

It is inappropriate to provide free services to it by increasing the gap between the components of the revolution for any reason. This position cannot be justified by any discrepancies that occurred in the past. The constitutional document signed on August 17 was a collective action undertaken by the components of freedom and change with the participation of the Communist Party at the time.

Hence, the coalition continued its joint work until November 2020, and throughout that period, the objective evaluation of the discrepancies that occurred could not be tempted to hold one party without another responsible for any shortcomings.

Finally: We in the Forces of Freedom and Change affirm that the defeat of the coup is dependent on the unity of the revolutionary forces. Without that, the task of the revolutionaries will be facilitated by singling out the components of the revolution and crushing it one by one.

The revolutionary situation and the establishment of a civil authority with legitimacy and broad revolutionary popular representation on its ruins. Therefore, we will not close the door of our continuous endeavours to unite the forces of the revolution and establish a unified center that expresses the forces of the civil and democratic street.

The glorious December generation sacrifices require all of us to rise to their destiny, and our alliance will remain loyal to that and open to offering everything it can to unite the forces of the revolution and defeat the October 25 coup that will inevitably be ordered by our people.

Sudan: Sudan Central Doctors Committee – Urgent (24.01.2022)

The Khartoum processions heading to the palace and the Omdurman processions on Al-Arbaeen Street face excessive violence, as the coup forces use live bullets and tear gas extensively, in addition to sound bombs, and besiege the processions in large numbers from several directions.

We appeal to human rights organizations to monitor this repressive behavior, which should not be confronted with peaceful processions, and to report on it so that the world knows what is being plotted against the people of Sudan to kill their dreams and hopes for a decent life.
