Sudan: The Civil Front to stop the war and Restore The Democracy – Important Statement (06.05.2023)

The Civil Front for Stopping War and Restoring Democracy welcomes the beginning of negotiations between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, which discuss opening safe passages to provide humanitarian aid and a cease-fire between the two parties.

The Civil Front for Stopping War and Restoring Democracy appreciates the efforts of the United States of America and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all efforts and positions to stop the war in Sudan.

We hope that these negotiations will be a step towards stopping the war, providing medical and health services, and providing the necessary assistance to enable civilians to restore their normal lives.

We also hope that the two parties will work seriously and tangibly to abide by the declared truce, as armed clashes are still continuing intermittently in a number of areas of Khartoum state, and firing and heavy artillery are being fired among residential neighborhoods and vital and public facilities, exposing hundreds of thousands of civilians to danger.

The Civil Front to Stop War and Restore Democracy warns of the deterioration of the economic, security and living conditions of civilians after the security vacuum, the spread of looting and the destruction of industrial facilities, markets, shops, hospitals and pharmacies, and the conversion of some of them into military barracks, with hundreds of thousands of civilians losing food security as a result of the poor security conditions and the cessation of the arrival of foodstuffs To the markets inside and outside the state of Khartoum and the high costs of obtaining them.

The situation in the city of El-Obeid in the state of North Kordofan gives cause for concern after clashes took place between the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, which requires that the two parties resort to the voice of reason and wisdom and not engage in armed confrontations, in addition to the poor health conditions in many cities of Sudan as a result of the lack of medical services.

The Civil Front to stop the war and restore democracy calls on the civil, political and societal forces seeking to achieve democratic transition and civil transformation and achieve the goals and aspirations of the glorious December Revolution to unite and continuous and joint action to stop the war, coordinate positions and efforts, and continue to besiege war and hate speech.

Sudan: “Voice of the Revolution” Foundation – Statement on the ongoing battles in Sudan (03.05.2023)

Gentlemen, followers of the Voice of the Revolution page

In these difficult and pivotal moments in the history of our country, and in light of the exacerbated humanitarian conditions due to this accursed war, we in the Society of the Voice of the Revolution Foundation would not have stood idly by while our country threatened its existence.

However, the horror and suddenness of the war, the divergent alignments and positions among the forces of the revolution and civil society organizations towards this war, and the raging debates within the “Voice of the Revolution” community delayed the institution’s adoption of a clear political line in these complex moments in the history of our dear country.

This armed conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces comes in the complete absence of civilian sovereignty and in the context of the Security Committee’s coup against the democratic transition, over the shameful positions of the military establishment since April 11, 2019 and its obstruction – in various ways and means – of the path of civilizing political life in the country.

The leadership of the military institution – represented by the Sovereignty Council’s military – is the first and last responsible for the humanitarian damage resulting from this war, through its direct contribution to the development of military, logistical, economic and political capabilities for rapid support.

Despite all of this, we concluded in the “Voice of the Revolution” community that there is no comparison whatsoever between the military institution and the Rapid Support militia, neither in terms of belief nor legitimacy. As the Sudanese Armed Forces remain the only forces that have the right to monopolize the legitimate use of weapons in the Sudanese state. With our great reservations about the violent history of this institution and its direct responsibility for the occurrence of this disaster.

And based on all of the above, we decided in the “Voice of the Revolution” community – in order to fulfill the right – to stand by our people and contribute to their protection. And that is by monitoring the violations of the Rapid Support militia and its war crimes resulting from its protection of civilians, taking them as human shields, looting citizens’ capabilities and property, terrorizing them in their homes, and attacking service and health institutions, and we will not hesitate to monitor any violations or failure of the regular forces to maintain citizen security.

Long live the struggle of the Sudanese national movement, glory to the martyrs of the Sudanese revolution, mercy and forgiveness for the martyrs of this war of civilians and soldiers of the armed forces, speedy recovery for the wounded, and the safe return of the missing, the displaced and the refugees.

Sudan: The Forces of Freedom and Change (FFC) – Statement (03.05.2023)

The accursed war that broke out in various parts of Sudan completes its third week, as the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe afflicting the country increases daily, including killing, displacement, displacement, asylum, ethnic confrontations, the collapse of the health sector and basic services, the destruction of infrastructure, and the situation of the state entity itself at risk of fragmentation and collapse.

We, in the forces of freedom and change, have mercy on the dear souls that we lost during this war, and we wish a speedy recovery for the wounded and a return for the missing.. In view of the continuation of this reprehensible war, we summarize our vision on the current situation as follows:

First: We renew in the Forces for Freedom and Change our principled position rejecting this war and its continuation, and we communicate with the leadership of the Armed Forces and Rapid Support to urge them to stop the fighting and abide by the declared humanitarian truce, and the need to reach an urgent and permanent ceasefire that paves the way for a peaceful political solution that preserves the unity, security, peace and freedom of the country. And his dignity.

Second: We condemn all forms of violations that occur as a result of this war against defenseless civilians, acts of looting, assault, intimidation, and the use of heavy and light weapons within populated areas. We call for its immediate cessation and the opening of safe paths that enable national and international organizations working in the humanitarian field to deal with the disastrous effects of the war.

Third: We commend the important step taken by the forces of the revolution in establishing the Civil Front to stop the war and restore democracy, which included a wide spectrum of political forces, resistance committees, democratic civil society, professional groups, elected unions, and patriotic personalities, and we affirm our full support for expanding this front, developing its work, and tightening coordination among its components.

Fourth: We welcome the international and regional initiatives calling for a permanent ceasefire and a comprehensive political solution that ends the war, addresses its effects and ensures that it does not recur again. In this context, we commend the important steps taken by the US-Saudi initiative, and we appreciate the important role played by the United Nations, the African Union and IGAD. Through the tripartite mechanism, the Quartet countries, the troika, the European Union, the Arab League and all the efforts that are directed towards stopping the war and not fueling it. We call for the coordination and integration of these initiatives, building on the steps taken and strengthening cooperation in the humanitarian field to respond to the basic needs of those affected by this war.

Fifth: We are following the escalating campaign behind which the remnants of the defunct regime and their collaborators stand behind, seeking to hide their crime that they committed by dragging the country into this war and fueling its fire, by spreading baseless lies that attribute this armed conflict to the political process and the framework agreement that came to spare the country from this war, or spreading a lie that says That freedom and change called for this war or wanted to carry out a coup, which are all naive and baseless propaganda.

The threats posed by the remnants and their aides to the leaders of the Forces for Freedom and Change and the democratic civil forces and personalities expose their true role in igniting this war and their goals from it. Their plan is exposed and exposed, and our people will inevitably nullify it, and our country will emerge strong and healthy from this crisis.

In conclusion, we call on the sons and daughters of our people to retire from this war sedition, work to stop it, distance themselves from hate speech, regionalism and racism, and confront the plans of the remnants that increase its ignition. Our country is now facing a test that threatens the existence of the state and warns of the collapse of the homeland. This war and the achievement of our national goals of peace, justice, freedom and a decent life for all segments of our people without discrimination.

Sudan: Civil Front to stop war and Restore The Democracy – Important Statement (29.04.2023)

The Civil Front for Stopping War and Restoring Democracy is continuing the clashes and exchanges of fire with light and heavy weapons between the Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, despite the two parties’ declaration of a 72-hour truce. residential. The exchange of fire and fighting within neighborhoods endangers the lives of thousands of civilians, in addition to the lack of necessary medical services, the suspension of dozens of hospitals and health centers, the inability to provide services, the interruption of water and electricity supplies in different areas, and the emergence of a large food gap. Risks are increasing as a result of the war with insecurity, the increase in security and humanitarian threats, and the spread of crime, including looting and looting of homes, citizens, shops, factories, and banks, which requires that work be done to stop the war immediately, provide humanitarian relief, and ensure the safety of civilians and mitigate the effects of the ongoing fighting without stopping…

The Civil Front for Stopping War and Restoring Democracy believes that naming the armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces for its representatives to discuss ways to open fire and stop armed clashes is a step, but in practice it needs real guarantees from both sides to stop hostilities and stop the expansion of its circle.

The Civil Front for Stopping War and Restoring Democracy considers the directed media discourse that criminalizes and betrays the peaceful civil, political and societal forces seeking democracy and peace in a misleading manner, which is a dangerous indicator and is one of the main causes of the ongoing war, by feeding hate speech and the continuous targeting of the forces of the glorious December revolution, which It seeks to achieve democratic transition and civil transformation through civil and peaceful mechanisms.

This speech, which carries declared threats to close public and political life, and to promote totalitarian thought, expresses policies and ideas that the Sudanese people overthrew in a great peaceful revolution. Freedom, peace, and justice are rights that have been extracted through a long, civil and peaceful struggle over decades, and they cannot be waived. We have followed, with regret, the escalation of events in the city of El Geneina, in the state of West Darfur, and the repeated attacks by armed groups against unarmed civilians, which led to hundreds of casualties and injuries among the civilian population, and deliberate sabotage of vital institutions and sectors, especially hospitals, and we are fully aware that these events are a direct result of the ongoing war. and hate speech. The effects of this ongoing war, if not remedied, will lead to the outbreak of civil conflicts, leading to the rupture of the social fabric, and leading to civil war and comprehensive security chaos.

The Civil Front for Stopping War and Restoring Democracy calls on all Sudanese men and women to line up and unify efforts and positions to stop war and civil conflicts and to work continuously on that. It also calls on them to engage in providing humanitarian aid and supporting popular initiatives organized throughout the country in support of all those affected by the war.

Sudan: Sudanese Journalists Syndicate – Statement (28.04.2023).

The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate monitored some inciting speeches from military officials and citizens against journalists and correspondents of satellite channels circulating on the Internet.

The Syndicate points out that this incitement is contrary to the laws, ethics, and customs agreed upon regarding the protection of journalists. The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate takes incitement against female and male journalists, especially from the military, seriously, and holds them fully responsible in the event that female and male journalists are subjected to any attack.

Investing in the reactions of some citizens with speeches of incitement against journalists is a very dangerous matter in the inflamed situations as a result of the ongoing war, and the Syndicate will stand against it with all strength and firmness.

It hopes that both sides of the war, as well as civilians, will not harm journalists or incite them against them while they carry out their mission.
