Opinion: “Everyone” over 18 years old is apparently a NRM member

“From the 18.3 million members we had, we now have 20.7 million” – NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong (27.03.2025).

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) claims they have 20,7 million members. That is a bold claim in a nation or Republic that has 23,154,716 citizens over 18 years old. So, the NRM just lacks 3 million from having every single grown person in the Republic. Yes, the nation has 45 million citizens. So, the NRM has about half or 50% of the population, but of that they have “everyone” eligible.

The striking part of all of this is the bold claim that anyone could go to their neighbour and ask if they are members. As the NRM should have 1 out of 2 of all citizens. That sort of numbers… are just bonkers and hard to believe. Soon the NRM has the numbers of 100% eligible members and membership, as the citizens are bound to be members and must be to get government services. That’s the next step, because at the moment it is rigged numbers and just made belief.

The NRM is just making the stats and cooking the numbers. There is no way this is real. Because, the NRM has lost the Buganda and the Baganda Kingdom. The Buganda has about 11 million in total of the 45 million citizens. They are just saying most part of them is members too. Because, the NRM has nearly everyone and such should also be credible in Buganda too. Just to make that as an example and that would be hard to believe. We have the UBOS who says in addition the 1,7 million people living in Kampala. It means those are also most likely members of the NRM too. This sort of juxtaposition doesn’t make sense…

This just shows what sort of lie the NRM is willing to lie about. It isn’t a clever lie and isn’t even masked properly either. The NRM is just making up numbers to look supreme. Because, how is this possible? If this was the case… then the President and his party should hold close to 90% of all votes everywhere. The nation should be totally behind NRM and the NRM party shouldn’t be afraid of the will of the people. That’s because the will of the people are the ones that align with the NRM. Alas… we know that isn’t the case and that’s why By-Elections looks like warzones.

This just shows the entitlement and arrogance of the NRM. When they think people are to stupid and cannot see the game they are playing. They are pushing this narrative ahead of 2026 elections. Just to give themselves excuses to have the majority and reasons for having most of the votes. Peace.

Sudan: The SAF liberated Khartoum from RSF as it fled from the capital

“Sudan’s army chief, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, declared Khartoum state “liberated” from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Wednesday, shortly after landing at the capital’s international airport for the first time in two years” (Sudan Tribune, 26.03.2025).

“Today, March 26, marks a significant victory nearly two years since the devastating war began in Sudan. The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) have successfully reclaimed control over the capital city, Khartoum, dealing a decisive blow to the remnants of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). After months of terrorizing civilians, looting, and committing heinous atrocities, the RSF’s hold over the city has crumbled. Their fighters, no longer able to withstand the might and determination of the SAF, have fled in disarray. This liberation stands as a testament to the resilience of the Sudanese people and their unwavering commitment to restoring peace and sovereignty. The liberation of Khartoum from RSF control is not just a military triumph but a significant step toward rebuilding a nation scarred by the merciless aggression of this militia” (Abdelmagid Kibir, 27.03.2025).

The capital Khartoum is now returned back to the SAF. The city is now in the hands of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). That means the power and control of the capital is now ruled by Gen. Al-Burhan. This is a failure of the Rapid Support Force (RSF) and Gen. Hemeti who is now losing in this war.

Hemeti and his RSF is now retreating. The warfare and historical Janjaweed are now caught in the mix. They are losing territories and control, as they are now being strategically outplayed by the SAF.

The ones celebrating is rightfully doing it so. The SAF is better than the RSF. However, these are two military entities that has blood on their hands. They are not voices of the people or the elected leadership of it. The SAF and RSF are both military entities that doesn’t had the wish to hand over power to a civilian government. This is why they have participated in coup d’etat’s and done so to stop a transition to a civilian government.

This has been a prolonged conflict and been griding for months. The SAF are now capable and wiser in the methods to stop the RSF from keeping territories. The RSF have been able and was looking like the victor, as the SAF was governing the nation from Port Sudan. Therefore, Hemeti looked like he would be able and have enough para-military troops to conquer the SAF. However, his now retreating and for a reason.

The SAF is now capable and able to overcome the troubles of the RSF. Khartoum is significant and it felt like that the moment they took the Republican Palace in Khartoum. Now they have captured the whole city… and that’s a major loss of the RSF. The militia is now undermined and will go back to trenches in Darfur.

The Janjaweed will continue to fight in Darfur and elsewhere. They will go back to the para-military means and use their knowledge of these regions to compete with the SAF. It is not like the RSF have put up the “white flag” or totally surrendering. It is just restructuring and reestablishing itself in other parts of the Republic.

The war in Sudan isn’t over. Still not the time to rebuild or time to make a difference. SAF aren’t revolutionary and neither is the RSF. The revolutionary and the ones who had hope in the Generals. Those shouldn’t have faith in Al-Burhan. The General is in it for his own personal gains. Therefore, there is more work to be done, but another evil General is losing more and that is Gen. Hemeti.

Al-Burhan and Hemeti are both wrong in this. They have torn the nation apart for their pockets. They are fighting for supremacy and for control. That’s why they are fighting this war. These Generals aren’t fighting for the Revolutionary Committees or Resistance Committees, as the FFC and others has left these one behind. They were outwitted by the army commanders before. Therefore, whoever goes into negotiations and talks with Al-Burhan should know it could be detrimental for their future. As they are sealing it and entrusting in someone who can easily wage war again.

That’s why the liberation of Sudan isn’t over. The RSF is losing, but everything isn’t free. The army still has power… and they haven’t let it go. That’s why things are the way they are. Sudanese people aren’t free. They have just one warlord or another warlord in office. That’s the game here and it’s rigged. Peace.

Ethiopia: The OPM got an email – The TIRA Presidency Problem

“The federal government is in the process of extending the term of the interim government, taking into account the realities on the ground and in this connection it has become necessary to appoint a new president of the interim administration. According to Article 3(2) of Regulation No. 533/2015, it is the responsibility of the Prime Minister to appoint the President of the Interim Administration. Candidates who you believe can efficiently perform the duties of the Interim Administration and ensure the peace and security of the region can send their nominations to the Prime Minister’s Office email address below starting today. Reference email info@pmo.gov.et” (Abiy Ahmed Ali – ‘ Call for Notices of the President of the Interim Administration of Tigray’ 26.03.2025).

“Abiy Ahmed’s call for the election of the president of Tigray through an email from the Prime Minister’s office is not only politically inappropriate but also a clear violation of Tigray’s constitutional rights, the Pretoria Agreement, and the democratic principles that govern Ethiopia’s federal system. The only legitimate path forward is for the people of Tigray, through their locally elected representatives and in full compliance with Tigray’s constitution, to determine their political leadership. The Tigray region’s right to self-determination must be respected, and any external interference in this process must be unequivocally rejected” (Tigrayan Advocacy & Development Association (TADA) – ‘Rejection of Abiy Ahmed’s Email Call for Tigray interim Administration Presidential Elections’ 26.03.2025).

“Despite these challenges, following the TPLF’s decision to withdraw its delegation of the presidency of the Interim Government of Tigray, discussions were held with the Ethiopian government to determine a replacement. An evaluation of the Interim Administration’s performance revealed its shortcomings, leading to a consensus that the president should be replaced. Consequently, the TPLF’s Central Committee proposed General Tadesse Werede for the position, which was accepted by the Ethiopian government. However, disregarding the CoHA-led process and mutual agreement, the Office of the Ethiopian Prime Minister issued a public call for candidates, falsely asserting that the decision rests solely with the Prime Minister. This move, which contravenes the CoHA, is unacceptable” (Tigay People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) – TPLF Statement on Current Developments, 26.03.2025).

Now that the fraction of the TPLF party associated with Getachew Reda is ousted. There is uncertainty of whose taking over and becoming the President of the Interim Regional Administration of the Tigray Region. Yesterday’s action of the Prime Minister and his Office is very clear. They want to have a say and they going to decide in the end.

This decision just shows how Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali wants to insert his control and consolidate power. If the TPLF or anyone else thought, they would have a say in it. They are completely wrong. This is all about having puppets and “yes-men” in the Offices of Mekelle. Abiy only cares about control and having someone that will bend the knee for him. Therefore, the TPLF could have resolutions and ideas of who’s the successor of Reda. Regardless of that, the final say and words is Abiy’s. That is the game they played and what give way when they accepted the Pretoria Agreement. They signed of their will and bowed down to him.

The TPLF accepted this and the Tigray region is bound by it. They should have seen this coming, as Abiy have done and played other regions for fools too. Just so he can ensure they have someone he trusts and knows will serve out of loyalty to him. That’s who the PM goes for and not for anyone else. Democratic credentials or any other means doesn’t matter to the PM. He needs his “yes-man” and loyal cadre who will submit to his whims. That’s who he will chose and decide to appoint.

The loss of Reda is only the beginning and the Pretoria Agreement only gave leverage to Addis Ababa and little to nothing for the TPLF. They are now pawns and the PM is checking them. That’s what is happening here. No one should be surprised that the PM does this and think this is fair. He wants what he wants and he knows he can get it. Because, he is the Head of State and the Tigray region doesn’t want more hostilities. Therefore, he got the bargain and the trade-off was already done by the TPLF. They just made it easier with ousting Reda too.

Now Abiy can get his crony and his subject, who will serve him and not the people of Tigray. Peace.

South Sudan: Integrity South Sudan – Integrity South Sudan is calling urges the Government of South Sudan and parties to the R-ARCSS to prioritize political dialogue over the enforcement of peace (27.03.2025)

South Sudan: SPLM-IO leader and FVP Dr. Riek Machar arrested tonight

South Sudan security forces have moved to arrest First Vice President and main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar, Sudans Post has learned. Sources with direct knowledge say Machar’s bodyguards have been disarmed and withdrawn, and a high-level security delegation is currently meeting him to formally inform him of the arrest. The delegation includes the head of the National Security Service, Minister of Defends and Veterans’ Affairs and the SSPDF Chief of Defense Forces” (Sudans Post, 26.03.2025).

The continued pursuit of the SPLM-IO are now in full effect. The SPLM-IG has already targeted the IO and arrested several high-ranking officials. They have completely and single-handedly shown their character and their goals of doing such. As they are claiming the IO is behind the Naath White Army and haven’t considered the implications of its actions.

J1 and allies are now altering everything. The R-ARCSS is dead. It was already in a bad state. There was little to no movement. The glacier slow implementation and prolonged interim period only caused more friction, as the personification of the state was from the President and Commander-in-Chief. Who in his capacity haven’t been able or had the sincere concern with building state institutions, but offering jobs for the boys.

That is what we are seeing now. The usage of the SSPDF and UPDF as means to an end. This is warlords issuing more war to settle grievances. This is taking it to the battlefield and ensuring instability. It isn’t talking or negotiating. No, this is just using force and deliberately undermine the others. That’s what the J1 is doing and he has the arrogance of doing so, because the UPDF mercenaries are carrying the have lifting. They are bombing and killing on his behalf…

That’s why they would dare to challenge the FVP and IO leader in this manner. Because they have the big guns and have the ability to do so. Regardless, of if Machar has done anything wrong this time around. He is being blamed and now they are capturing him. After they have gone after the people surrounding him and his party.

It just shows that the R-ARCSS isn’t worth the papers it is written on. The SPLM-IG isn’t concerned or cares about that. They can just throw it all away and think this use of force can solve anything. This is practically trying to consolidate power without the usage of protocol or negotiations, as we know this government and interim administration isn’t elected anyway.

President Kiir and J1 is walking and dancing towards war. They are beating the war drums and doing it so loudly too. This they started with a bang. There is no slowing down. They are just deciding it and ordering it to happen.

The arrest of Dr. Riek Machar isn’t just a sign, but an act. The last straw. They are pulling all the levers and sooner or later the whole dam will burst. Peace.
