Burundi: Uprona, Sahwanya-FRODEBU and CNL calls out the election!

“Uprona cites the following violations:

1 Cases of early voting and ballot stuffing were reportedly observed in several provinces before the official opening of the polling stations.

2 The presence of young people affiliated with the ruling party, near or even inside the polling stations, would have, according to Uprona, contributed to exerting pressure on the voters, sometimes with the alleged complicity of certain members of the offices designated by the CENI.

3 Party officials were allegedly expelled, intimidated or prevented from verifying the results announced during the count.

4 Uprona also reports cases of direct intimidation even in voting booths.

5 In some cases, voters were reportedly forced to sign F2 forms before they could even vote.

6 Finally, the party mentions situations where voters were asked to hand in their ballots so that the choice could be made for them” (Iris News, 06.06.2025)

“Sahwanya-FRODEBU denies having met with the Mission of the African Union or having participated in the legislative elections of June 5, 20250 as a party. He denounces false information contained in the preliminary statement published on June 7. He calls on the Mission to correct its statement” (IWACU Burundi, 09.06.2025).

“Among the main anomalies noted, CNL cites in particular:

  1. The deprivation of the right to vote for certain citizens, whose voter cards were confiscated in order to vote in their place, or pressure exerted to force voters to vote in favour of the ruling party;
  2. Ballot stuffing before the official opening of the poll, as well as multiple voting on behalf of several people;
  3. Falsification of minutes, in particular by preventing observers present from making comments, requesting the recording of observations, or by signing documents in the absence of said observers who have been expelled from the premises” (Le Journal Africa, 10.06.2025).

The opposition parties are calling out the 5 June polls. They are spelling out what was wrong with the elections. That isn’t shocking or surprising that they are going after the ruling regime and the authorities itself. As there been reports and indications that the citizens and civilians was forced to vote on the CNDD-FDD on default.

The ones believing the CNDD-FDD is beloved in 2025 must be wrong. As the mismanagement, inept leadership and fear is only running so far. The reports of using Imbonerakure to intimidate and ensure public order says it all. They are using law enforcement, violence and suppression to keep themselves in office. If people didn’t vote or register to vote. The government and authorities would cut them of from government services. That’s telling, as well, as how violence and intimidation was done against the CNL and other opposition parties ahead of the polls. They abducted, arrested and even tried to attack vehicles with opposition leaders campaigning. Therefore, we know the CNDD-FDD cannot win in an honest election.

It is just compelling how the opposition is speaking with the same voice. They are calling the authorities and the state over the same thing. The opposition parties speaking in tandem and it just shows how the state has failed the people.

This election was a forced charade for the CNDD-FDD to cement their majority. They did this to be “winners”, but we all know everyone is losers. Because this isn’t a sincere poll or elections. No, they just did it to get legitimacy, even if it is all fake and a fraud. There is nothing honest about it. Other than for the CNDD-FDD to prove why they are in power and how they do it. Peace.

Opinion: Among held the Lord’s name in Vain

“We believe in the trinity. We believe in God, the father, and God, the Father is President Museveni. The father is President Museveni. God and his son is MK. And now you are the Holy Spirit. You should have worked for them” – Speaker Anita Among (09.06.2025).

Thou shall not…

“You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name” (New International Version – Exodus 20:7).

Why do I quote the Bible now? Well, the Speaker of the 11th Parliament is clearly taking the lords name in vain. She is calling the “King of Kings” or the Ssabagabe as the Lord himself. The Speaker is now calling Museveni “God”. In her mind and what she said to the crowd is that the President is a deity. His son is “Jesus” and a “Saviour” as the Gods Son. That’s the gist of it, as the citizens and voters have become the “holy spirit”, and I don’t even know how that is possible.

We know President Museveni will love this praise. As he sees himself as above everyone else. This will boost the morale of the son too. They will both be happy with this and know they have a token servant in Anita Among. As she will blindly sing psalms about them. That’s what she did and so blatantly too.

These people will quote the scriptures and use the Christian belief to further their case. However, in the same manner they will use blasphemy to support their interests too. Because the Speaker knows Museveni is more important for her career than God himself. She needs Museveni and his invisible hand to ensure longevity. Among needs Museveni more than anything.

The Speaker needs the King of Kings and calling him a deity is just showing what sort of person she is. It is just who they are and they are wolves in sheep’s clothes. They are on the field and speaking of saving the sheep. However, these people will unleash the wolves on them the moment they smell blood. That’s what they do, and we can just see it.

She holds Lords Name in Vain. That’s something the Speaker must recognize. Not that the President or his son will care. They just love to be glorified and be put on pedestals. They prefer being shed a light on. The Speaker should reflect on her words.

The Ssabagabe is giddy and will be in joy, as he is now praised beyond his mortal body. The likes of Among is making him immortal. That is what he wants, and he always wanted to a be legendary man. Peace.

Togo: Is Aamron’s destiny the final straw of Gnassingbe’s Fifth Republic?

On May 26, 2025, our brother Aamron was abducted in the middle of the night by more than 50 soldiers. He was beaten with unprecedented violence, forcibly shaved, and then interned without any medical grounds in a psychiatric hospital. His only crime? Having denounced the corruption, injustice, and suffering of the Togolese people. Today, we break the silence and name those responsible. Here are the names of the individuals identified as involved in Aamron’s abduction, torture, and forced internment:

1. Lt-Colonel Essoyomèwè GNASSINGBE

2. Rear Admiral BELEYI

3. Simplice BELEYI, former customs officer

4. KEREZOUYE, former customs officer

5. Colonel Edouard BIGNANDI

6. Retired General Gnakoude A. BERENA

7. Agssoyè ASSIH, retired gendarmerie officer

These men betrayed the Republic. They used the means of the state to humiliate, torture, and break a free citizen, without trial, without rights, and without respect for human life. We name them so that no one will ever again say, “We didn’t know.” We name them to protect the next Aamrons. We name them because the truth is a weapon against fear” (Farida Bemba Nabourema, 05.06.2025).

The Family Dynasty of the Gnassingbe is endangered as the youth and the demonstrations are appearing in Lome and elsewhere in the Togolese Republic. The one sided rule and one man rules them all are getting tested by this.

When the authorities apprehended Aamron and since then kept him captured. They signalled the people and tried yet again to intimidate. However, it is backfiring, as the people are going to the streets and protesting. People are changing their profile pictures to red squares. Calling out the government and planning to demonstrate. This is creating new organizations and new activists organizing it, like BRDP and LDNA. There others too, but the Faure Must Go is becoming the known slogan.

Faure Gnassingbe is doing the bidding of a madman, as his keeping Aamron captive in a psychiatric hospital of Zébé. That after kidnapping, torture and keeping him out of sight and out of mind. Thinking this news wouldn’t be leaked and create fury. That’s what is happening and rightfully so. Gnassingbe has used violence, intimidation and blocked the citizens from moving. He has stopped campaigning and demonstrating on the beaches before too. So, this isn’t anything new from him. However, the reaction to the usage of force, brutality and the way they are detaining Aamron shows how far they are willing to go.

The Head of State is playing with fire here. His opening doors he cannot shut. The more he opens it and exposes the room. The more things will become dire and there will be no return. Not like his adhering to the calls of releasing Aamron, but he should have done it yesterday.

Now the activist and artist is haunting His Excellency and the family dynasty, which has acted untouchable and thought he could continue ruling indefinitely without another puppet pulling the strings. Alas, that isn’t the case.

The impunity and misuse of force is now creating havoc. It is only starting and more pressure is coming. The people are reacting and we can only wonder how this will play out. Peace.
