“MP Barnabas Tinkasimire allegedly abducted in Kampala. His wife says her husband was abducted by gun-wielding men from Rubis Fuel station opposite Kampala Hill at around 6 PM on Saturday. His phones have since gone off. She says they have since reported the matter at Wandegeya Polie Station and that their effort to be availed with the CCTV footage by the Fuel Station have been frustrated” (Kungu Al-mahadi Adam, 29.06.2025).
“Hon. Tinkasiimire Barnabas dumped at Namungoona today at around 1:00am after being abducted by a drone on Saturday according to his wife Sandra Tinkasimire. She says Hon Tinkasiimire is so frail and seriously assaulted” (Peterson Nickson Amooti, 30.06.2025).
Today we have the news of MP Barnabas Tinkasimire being first abducted on Saturday 28th June 2025 and now it’s revealed that he was “released” or dumped today on the 30th June 2025.
This shows how the state and the authorities can just pick up someone and drop them off like nothing. They did this without a warrant or a notice. The state used law enforcement or state agents to pick him up at a gas station. That was done out of nowhere and with no prior knowledge. They just did so and to send a message.
We know something is up when the authorities say this: “Police have denied holding Buyaga West Member of Parliament, Barnabas Tinkasimire. The legislator was reportedly picked up by unidentified security operatives over the weekend from a fuel station in Wandegeya, a Kampala suburb” (106.9 Kabalega FM, 30.06.2025).
The first unverified reports were that the drone was from Special Forces Command (SFC). So, if the Uganda Police Force says they didn’t apprehend him or detain him. Then it makes sense for the UPF to say it. The SFC is an army entity and not a part of the Police. So, it’s all common sense and rational.
A man won’t kidnap or abduct themselves. Neither will they put themselves in pain or suffering. This is most likely done because he spoke ill of the President and wished him death to succeed him the other day. That there would be retaliation and usage of force against isn’t surprising either. He spoke with fire and fury, which is why he tasted this vengeance.
No one should be shocked or in awe. As this is modus operandi and the usage of force, intimidation and using the monopoly of violence is used against citizens. The citizens who are associated with dissidents can easily be accessed and taken away. No, it happened with one of their own who dared to speak out loud and against the President. That’s why he was touched and we could all smell it in the air. Peace.

“I have decided to come forward and see how to escort the Bazukulu and their parents forward for another five years and in this time I want us to really wipe out corruption” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (28.06.2025)
Not breaking news from the Republic over the weekend. There has been no shocker and no earthquakes. Just another Saturday and a weekend where the National Resistance Movement (NRM).
I’m just one of the brothers who are tired of the erasing of the 1986 to 1996. Because he held the first election in 1996 and that’s how they count it to be 7 terms. Yes, 7 terms are bad and shows how he has self-styled President for Life. That’s nothing new either, as he has amended and changed the Constitution to fit his narrative and life. Therefore, we have to educate people about the lost decade.
The lost decade of 1986 to 1996 has to count as two terms, as he has since been “elected” for new years every 5 years ever since. That’s why he has held polls in 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011, 2016, 2021 and now in the coming year, 2026. But we should count 1986 and 1991 as well. Even if there were no polls. It is still two terms and a time he defied the need for elections and was a “transitional” government after the bush-war of the 1980s.
So, let us not say his trying to get “elected” for a seventh term. His getting elected for the ninth time. He is serving currently on his eight term. That is what his finishing and doing the final run for the 9th time. That would be sincere and it shows how long he has been in office. It is just a true reflection of how long he has lingered in power and reluctantly avoid leaving or retire.
His using corruption as an excuse to stay in office. Just like he has used the integration and the supposed wish to ensure a stronger East African Federation or a more unified East African Community. However, we know he hasn’t worked for that and only swayed his own ways over the years. That is just another long-con of the old man and now he uses corruption for his own personal gain. Just like he has used the tricks and theatrics to enrich himself and the inner circle surrounding him. We are not supposed to know that, but this trade is as old as the old man. This is his system and his political methods, which are now widely used and protocol. Therefore, we cannot run away from it and he has gained vast wealth because of it.
So, Mr. Ninth Term and the only man with a vision. Mr. Sunday who promised “fundamental change” and pledged for a liberation. He himself got liberated and so did the ones who is aligned with him. Nevertheless, the rest who dares to defy him or go out of his circle. They can suddenly be touched… and be in legal jeopardy. That’s what we have seen and this is how he runs his republic.
His not running for a better nation or securing your future. This isn’t steady progress, but more of the same. He should just run on “No Change” like it is 1996. Because his coming with nothing and taking it all. Just like he did yesterday and the day before, the decade before and before the millennium. He has generational wealth, because he stole from the future generations. Peace.

The Togolese people are now answering and protesting their government. The life-line and prolonged stay of President Faure Gnassingbé is on the horizon. As the ruler and family dynasty lingers on. It has ruled the nation with an iron fist, and they have blocked all peaceful avenues to succession or a transition from the family of Gnassingbé. That’s why the Constitution and everything else must be altered to fit the narrative of the ruling family.
Now, the three-day demonstrations that the nation are in the middle of. As artists, activists and others are casualties. The citizens are facing police brutality, even the most peaceful ones that is shunning participation and staying indoors. The authorities and law enforcement can breach into the homes and violate people. They can throw tear-gas into homes and let them suffer. That’s how the family wants to rule indefinitely. There is no “love” lost but only more plight.
The reports of bodies in the Adakpame lagoon of Lome should be worrisome, it is a tale of old, as if the state can just depose of the bodies, it has created, and hope mother nature fixes the rest. That’s what the government is up too and willing to do. That’s who the family are and how they consider their rights to rule supreme for eternity.
Everyone should be warned and be on guard here. The tyrant is striking back and with vengeance. The family dynasty isn’t allowing the dissent and they are muting the ones who dares to lift their voices. Heck, even the ones who isn’t and whose trying to shield themselves. They are even touched too. So, who are the President and his associates thinking they are overcoming here?
The dead will be answered for, the one detained and suffering in prison too. All who has suffered and has been scorned. All of them must be addressed and the state needs to be held accountable. This injustice and impunity cannot go on forever. Even if the family and the dynasty think so. The 58 years of rule must end. They are only using force and the instruments of the state, because that’s all it has. Not like the Family or the Government has the upright support or popularity to rule indefinitely. If it did, the people wouldn’t go to the streets and risk their livelihoods doing so.
It’s reported that a total of 140 activists is detained as a result and we don’t know the total amount of fatalities, but there are bodies in the Adakpame lagoon, which shows the lethal acts of the state towards the ones that dissent. Therefore, things aren’t over just yet.
The Togolese people need the world to have its eyes on it. There is a need for support and solidarity with the people of the Republic. They need to know that their protests and demonstrations are justified. That people are behind them and want them to succeed. Because this family in power has overstayed its welcome. It is time for the Gnassingbé to leave and answer for their sins. There are plenty of lives touched, hurt and lost. Just so this one family could be the ruling one. Peace.
