Ethiopia: Amhara Fano National Force (AFNF) – Press Release (18.09.2025)

Pastor Lazarus Chakwera will soon be out of office and seemingly by all projections of the results for the transpired election causes him to lose. The Malawian people are tired of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and rebuke the reign of Chakwera.
As a Head of State and President Chakwera has failed the nation. They haven’t seen any development or any progression whatsoever. What made things worse was that the pastor who couldn’t keep people aligned or even spread a coherent message. He couldn’t sell the story or even try to forge a winning narrative.
You know you have failed spectacularly when they want the scandal-ridden previous President Arthur Mutharika back again. That’s when you know you have been a terrible leader. When the public rather want the stale and old-school corruption versus whatever sort of vibe Chakwera is doing now. His one of the only ones who had to show up in person to an all-digital or virtual conference. That’s who he was, and the vagabond cannot get paid for his international travels now. Neither can his family partake on those paid for trips by the state.
This got to sting, as the prosperity preacher turned politician has lost the faith and the confidence of the people. They rather want to have the old corrupt dude, which they know. Instead of trusting you for another term. That must hit the ego hard.
Chakwera should reflect upon this and ask for redemption. He got ask for repentance and ask for forgiveness, because he has failed. He needs to sit and confess his sins. That’s the only way out of this. Chakwera had the ability and the opportunity to do something but decided not to do it. In all things considered, the man had an office and the time to spend to make a difference, but he chose the latter. He misused his time and enlarged his own coffers. The President helped fellow comrades and family members to greener pastures. However, they forgot the mission and why they were there to begin with.
That’s why he lost. The pastor and preacher-man who had a shot. A man who had a gifted tongue. He could speak and be boosting about it too. As an opposition leader, he sounded refreshing and that he had a vision. Nevertheless, when he came into office. He just became another one of them and he didn’t even consider the implications of doing so. It was his God given right and he took it for granted.
Chakwera should be ashamed of himself and what his done. Especially, when you see the results and how the public has turned against him. It became so bad that they rather want to have the old corrupt fella over him. A person they know is corrupt and a horrible President. They rather want him than you. That’s saying something and Chakwera should chew on that.
The MCP and Chakwera needs to learn this lesson. They cannot go back to default mode and act like opposition again. These people have lost it and the public isn’t buying it. That’s why they are rebuked and didn’t get re-elected. That’s telling… and you know it’s bad when they go back to the old predecessor.
Chakwera is so bad that the people started to miss Mutharika. If that isn’t a tragic tale, I don’t know. However, don’t cry the moment Mutharika and his people are creating scandals or siphoning money. They are known for this and nothing new is under the sun. Peace.

”Elections are going to be peaceful. There will be no processions. There will be no people, there will be no gali. You will announce where your rally is and you drive there straight. If the people are there will listen to you and then they go home. Then on election day, people will vote. This going to be the quietest election you have ever seen in the world. This going to be so quiet. And those who don’t want it to be quiet, will be made quiet” – Minister of Justice, Norbert Mao (17.09.2025).
The Minister of Justice, Norbert Mao came out with a threat to politicians and the electorate. The timing is telling and compelling, as the state is already abducting, kidnapping and arresting citizens, politicians and whoever they deem fit for detention. Therefore, these words from Mao is telling.
As Minister and as a man with a title. A man who now could just become a National Resistance Movement (NRM) Member of Parliament and call it a day. He should just leave the Democratic Party (DP) from green to yellow. That’s the gist of things.
We know the state is assaulting and targeting the main opposition. They are directly abducting, arresting and silencing the ones in charge at National Unity Platform (NUP) and People’s Front for Freedom (PFF). Most likely other parties will be touched by the authorities as well. Therefore, the wording of the Minister is compelling.
When we know the state has so many prisoners of conscience, has so many people detained for their political activity and participating in politics. That’s when the statement of “will be made quiet” is telling. These words should send chills down your spine. Those words are saying everything and leaving no doubts.
Just imagine that he said it without much pressure, that the opposition and the ones willing be “made quiet”. That’s just preparing the people of what is coming. Nothing is shocking here, as the state are already ramping up and gearing up their authorities to strike at the opposition. That has already been seen, and they aren’t hiding it either. It just so normalized and common place, that the arrest and seeing opposition activist’s courtside is just another Tuesday. Therefore, the state is just doing what it can to silence the dissent.
Norbert Mao just proves his lack of heart or concern of the liberty or freedom of fellow peers. When he doesn’t mind the “will be made quiet” and what that entails. We already knows what the state is willing to do and now his defending their actions. The state will be brutal, violence and harass the ones who are partaking in opposition campaigning. They can do that as it is seen as “noise” and Mao promised “silence”. Therefore, don’t expect any mercy, but expect instead horrific actions of law enforcement against civilians.
That’s what is coming, and this General Election will be most bloody and hurting that we have ever seen. The authorities have already started and is using the judiciary and law enforcement to take out the opposition. However, expect more of it and stray-bullets too. That’s coming and we will see innocent dying as bystanders. This is sadly the cost of ruling regime clinging on to power at any cost. They don’t mind that, because that is what keeps the NRM and Museveni in office. Peace.

“It is not wise to assume that a country as large as Ethiopia should be handed to our children while encapsulated. We do not believe war or conflict are necessary to succeed in this. That’s why we have been pleading for five years. Still, because we believe that Ethiopia must be relieved from the shuttered doors and the isolation that has impoverished her, in accordance with international laws, our hands are stretched, more than ever, to negotiate peacefully on any platform, with any entity that allows dialogue. However, if there is any Ethiopian who believes that Ethiopia will forever remain a geographic prisoner, that person is a dead one. Ethiopia will prioritize peace, fight poverty, and organize its points of entry and exit. Recognizing the inevitability of this, our brothers and sisters should be made to prepare themselves for negotiation in a timely manner” – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali (17.09.2025).
This has been going on for ages, the dangers of the delusion and irrational behaviour, which have been amplified by “yes-men”, lackeys and whoever are in the inner-circle surrounding Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. The leadership and the ruling regime of the Prosperity Party is unleash another conflict and another war. The rhetoric and the ideals aren’t even clever.
We know the regime in Addis Ababa has already started their navy and has a technical school for it. Even if they have no maritime territory or any place to have any vessels. The navy itself is just a memorizing project, which shows where the state is heading.
Everyone who has followed the trajectory of Abiy knows that in the end… it all ends in guns and ammo. That’s all he knows and that’s how he consolidate power. He ensures that all ends are closed up and he hope he can trap his victims into an inevitable oblivion. That’s what he hopes for and that he has outwitted the ones he trespassed or the ones who didn’t kiss the ring. Because, everyone is supposed to follow him and praise his every move. If you don’t do that and dares to challenge him. Expect harm on you and the ones surrounding you. That’s just how Abiy operates and he has never concealed it even.
That’s why we I read the quote of the speech at his newest book launch. A new book from him means someone else was the ghost-writer and the Prime Minister takes all the credit for it. As it enlarges his ego and his empire. He needs the ego boost and the idea that his clever. However, there is someone else out there that has the mind for it, because it isn’t the Head of State. He just takes all the glory and gets all the recognition for the work.
Prime Minister Abiy is yet again showing his true heart and intention. His not even budging and it becomes ever so clear what he wants. The PM wants something that isn’t his to begin with and neither is there any proper justification for it. That’s why he know he has to lay the ground work and the narratives to able to even sell it to the public. He needs time and efforts to get people to believe in it and buy into the project, a project, which entails a war and annexation of territories by the sea. That’s it… and it will be a bloody one.
Abiy is now getting into the stage where his seeking another conflict to get what he needs and wants. If that being with Eritrea for Assab or Djibouti for that matter. It would be what is next in line, as his used to internal conflict and use force against his enemies. He don’t mind people dying, as long as his eating lavishly in the palace. That’s what he does and this is his intent.
Abiy doesn’t gain strength by compromise or even mediation. No, he gains power by consolidation and hostile takeover. Therefore, he needs to use force and sooner or later what will appear. That’s the only thing he knows and where he gets results. A warlord is a lord of war for a reason. That’s who Abiy has become and everyone should acknowledge that by now. Peace.

The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) and President Lazarus Chakwera are now struggling as incumbent. Chakwera has also lost the alliance and fellow coalition partners to strengthen his case. That’s why the “Tip-Ex” and former President Arthur Mutharika of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) are reportedly in lead.
The MCP has on the first day after the polls claimed victory. That’s dangerous when the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) stating it has several days before it must announce the results. This game we have seen before, but we can easily assess it.
The MCP and Chakwera failed the nation during this term. Though the history of Mutharika and DPP isn’t golden either. Both candidates and their respective parties has failed the Republic. There been so much alike of them and the opposition now have done similar. The nepotism, corruption and scandals have been rampant.
So, if the nation get Chakwera of Mutharika at this point of time. Well, the tides doesn’t change, but the banner of the party ruling the nation. That’s the only thing that changes. Because the current vagabond and incumbent President haven’t resolved or made any significant changes. He has caused the same harm and lack of planning, which haunted his predecessor. That’s why there is fuel shortages and other issues, which shows the time wasn’t well spent by the Preacher Man.
This is why it’s bad if the DPP returns after the turmoil and the elections of 2019 and 2020, as if the time of the term and the promises of the past was never implemented. The President and his alliance should have worked upon this and served the nation. Instead, it continued the path of self-serving and enriching itself on the offices of the Republic. That’s why there is a possibility of a public distrust and discontent with Chakwera now. However, giving the reigns to a similar culprit in “Adadi” is just foolish. Because his no different and the story of his term is just telling about what’s to come. The scandals and the misuse of continue, but not in the name of MCP, but in the name of the DPP. No glory in this, but just another bounty.
The sad thing is that it’s hard to spot the difference between the Preacher Man and Adadi. They are practically the same kind and uses the abilities in front of them. That’s why, if the public switches from Chakwera to Mutharika. Well, don’t expect any changes… only more of the same and often scandals in the papers. That’s what to come. The shortages and problems that are occurring now. They will occur under Mutharika too. Because both Presidents haven’t bothered to change that or implement any significant reform to ensure stoppage of shortage of fuel or lack of electricity. No, these guys are eating of the plate of others and smiling at you while they are doing it.
Malawi deserves better… it really does. There should be other options and leaders who has the character and the will, but these aren’t able to take the mantle or reach the upper-echelons and that’s why we are here. Peace.
