RDC: Republique du Katanga lettre du Nations Unies – “Objet: Declaration d’Independance du Katanga, le 1er Janvier 2019” (27.12.2018)

You know you got a special place in the world, when your the Special Representative for Somalia and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM). However, the man with role, Nicholas Haysom, have gotten himself in a pickle. He is person non-grata by the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) or Villa Somalia. Meaning, the UN Representative in Somalia isn’t allowed to enter or be in Somalia. That is what you can say is rich. Very rich.
This coming the very day, when the UNSOM statement says this:
““Today’s indirect fire attack on the main UN compound in Mogadishu may amount to a violation of international humanitarian law, and I deplore this unwarranted act of aggression against our personnel,” said Mr. Haysom. “No political agenda can be served through violence that deliberately targets staff members of international organizations who are supporting the consolidation of peace and the strengthening of governing institutions in Somalia. I wish our wounded colleagues a full recovery from their injuries.” (UNSOM, 01.01.2019).
That after a bomb or grenades launched at the UN Headquarters in Mogadishu. Clearly, the UN had to answer and explain what happen. Certainly the UN Representative hit a nerve. But their might also be questions about him. As on the 30th December 2018, the same man sent a letter to the Minister of Internal Security of Somalia. Where he answers if any UN Personnel was involved in the arrest of Muktar Rowbow on the 13th December 2018.
Clearly, the UN Representative knows how to strike the nerves of Villa Somalia. He knows how to push the buttons and also scratch the itches there. That is why, instead of answering his questions of December 2018. They are now suspending him and making it impossible for the UN Representative to work within the Federal Republic of Somalia. That is what FGS is doing.
This is happening on the same day, there is direct attempt and attack of the UN Headquarters in Mogadishu These things seems to be connected and wouldn’t happen separately. As they are happening within short time span. This is a retaliation against his questions and his words towards the FGS.
If this is a cheap shot for popularity, it might move the patriotic people at first, but the donor-funding, the support of AMISOM and the other missions might dwindle. As the Foreign Donors cannot trust a government, who cannot be questioned for their actions. This is poor planning and leadership. That might be costly in the long-run. They are doing the short-con, without considering the long-con.
Haysom might trigger many people with his letters and his questions, but just answer them. If your not afraid of them. But seemingly, there is something more to give, as the FGS has banished him. Peace.

After getting a stroke in Saudi Arabia on the 24th October 2018 and later date transferred for more treatment in Morocco. President Ali Bongo of Gabon have had health problems and specialized treatment abroad, as he cannot travel back to Libreville to get it. This shows the weakness of the Health Care facilities in his own Republic. The Second Generation Dictator of Gabon. Could have ensured these was in place in his own Republic. Instead, just like father, the son is also spending his time getting cured abroad.
When he gotten sick abroad and it took time, the vacuum of power, where even the closest leadership had to circumvent the Constitution to have leeway while he was gone. They had to ensure the steady ship of government to continue to roll, even when it was questionable concerning the passed laws. That shows how problematic, that there isn’t proper institutions, but based on ONE MAN.
The family of Bongo has ruled for two generations and haven’t delivered much. That is why the President is having treatment in Rabat and not in Libreville. If the President had served his Republic or cared about service delivery. He would have travelled home and gotten treatment there. However, with the steady eating of the government plate. He had to do it elsewhere.
This is the real weakness of Bongo, who has no trouble with dealing with oppressive means against his opposition. Not to talk about, the lack of spending and policies to better the Republic. The President of ages cannot even manage basics. Therefore, he is spending so many months abroad. Even slurring on TV as he had his first appearance in months.
It might show that his not dead, as some was worried about and because of speculations, even closed a Radio Channel in Cameroon. We are now seeing a weak man, a healing man and not a strong man. A big-man who cannot act as nothing touches him. The pictures and the video shows it.
Even he tried to reassure the people, the Gabonese, he is surely weaker. He is not pitch perfect health, the stroke has hit him hard. That is why the silence lasted for so long. It was months and unknown about his condition or his circumstances, as the authorities or people around him wouldn’t tell.
Now, we have seen why. Ali Bongo is weak, he is tired and not fit. He will return and anticipate the throne, but we are now seeing another Bongo. We can wonder who that might be and what might move him.
Certainly with this weakness and this change, it would be time for leadership. For honest leadership and for someone who is loved by the people. That would counter everything, the Family of Bongo stands for. But that would enrich the Republic of Gabon. If the ruling regime dared to do so. Since, the ruling regime already showed finesse, while Bongo was in sick-bed abroad. Peace.

There are sometimes and somewhere, someone who has such connections and place in society, that they are untouchable. Professor Tom Ojienda is the Chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission of Kenya, he is also the former Chair of the Law Society of Kenya.
Tom is a Special Counsel, so the man has a unique place in the Republic. That has been evident over the last few days. Just within short time, the Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) had to both fold an alleged fraud case against the man. This being illegal obtaining of funds from Mumias Sugar Company. Clearly, he has such a position, that the Courts are barring his case. This because he sits on top of the JSC.
We are seeing a game, where the elites, the ones on top of the food-chain can possibly eat and live lavish on other people’s dime. Misuse their position and still get away with it. Even as the DPP have found evidence of corrupt activity, the Courts are dismissing the case. That shows how bad the society is.
This isn’t just about Tom, this is about the failing judiciary and the failing rule of law. When someone is above the system and cannot be touched. Because, the Case against him could be barred in the High Court. Which is really unique, in the circumstances and what we have seen. We are clearly seeing that Tom is something else. Since, he is now out and about, even with the questionable cash obtained through Mumias.
That shows how his prestige and position, means that he can differs from the law, which he presides as a Special Counsel and part of the JSC. Therefore, as part of the clientele on top, he cannot really be touched.
If Tom had been an ordinary crook, he would have suffered behind bars and awaiting sentencing. However, Tom is high-ranking official and a lawyer. Therefore, the system has to be careful, as he can unveil or even reveal matters to the courts. That is why the case is stalled, that is why he isn’t touched.
This story isn’t cool, but more a friendly reminder, that some people have suction and doesn’t need to worry. Tom Ojienda is one of them.
The Republic see it and even if Tom thinks his off the hook. As long as he gets away with it. People will see him as a crook. Until it is really proven, that he never took. Peace.
