Gabon: A failed military coup d’etat happen today!

Lieutenant Kelly Ondo Obiang today tried in Libreville, Gabon to oust Second Generation President Ali Bongo. If it had worked, it would have ended the family regime from 1969. They started by besieging a radio station, proclaiming they were having a coup against the government.

We know it is really powerful statement in just trying, when African Union answers with this:

The African Union strongly condemns the coup attempt this morning in Gabon. I reaffirm the AU’s total rejection of all unconstitutional change of power” (Moussa Faki Mahamat, 07.01.2019).

While, there been reports that the authorities blocked the internet as the coup d’etat was taking place. The authorities arrested the mutineers at the State Broadcaster, as there was assault there. RFI reports: “Minister of communication says mutineers have been arrested by GIGN units (elite tactical units), situation is under contol and order will be restablished in two or three hours” (…) “Government spokesperson says four mutineers have been arrested and one has fled, said they were a group of “jokers”” (…) “Situation “under control”, government spokesperson Guy-Bertrand Mapangou tells RFI’s Bineta Diagne, soldiers from guard of honour were responsible, not republican guard, coup plotter Lieutenant Kelly Ondo Obiang is on the run” (RFI, 07.01.2019).

So, for the ones celebrating an early victory and a downfall of a second generation dictator in Gabon. That battle is not over. Since, the President is still ailing in Morocco after falling ill in 25th October 2018. Therefore, there been already political movement since this, as the Constitutional Court has given Vice-President and Prime Minister gotten more power. While the President was in treatment in Saudi Arabia before he was moved to further treatment in Morocco.

Another important part of the plot today, is that earlier this month, just mere days ago, the United States stationed 80 soldiers as a passifying force, as the US government are afraid of escalation of violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is because the awaiting results of the Elections on the 30th December 2018. Which is still not announced and awaiting a verdict.

The Mutineers, which doesn’t seem to many, as the government has arrested fourth and the fifth on the run. That being the leader Lieutenant Obiang who is running from the law. Which was earlier in the day, they proclaimed on radio that they was establishing a National Restoration Council. However, that seems like a thwarted dream of the mutineers. And everyone who wanted the Second Generation of Dictatorship in Gabon to cease.

It seems like its been stopped, but someone tried, as the ailing President whose is still abroad for treatment. This shows the dire consequences of that, yet again.

As this has happened, there are now orders of curfew in Libreville. The internet and other communications are disconnected by the authorities. The capital and other major cities are now patrolled by military tanks and military vehicles. As the authorities are signalling, that they are still in control.

This is just showing how dire the situation is and how much need for change there is. Just another foiled attempt in getting justice for the people, while the family junta oppression continues in Gabon. Peace.

Opinion: The Ghosts Continue to Haunt the YLP!

The Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP) by every minute going, seems like a forged project and fake government projects. In ways to secure funding for other things for other Public Officials, why do I say that? Because the YLP have been given a red-flag before. The YLP should be known for its ghosts and its forged documents.

The ones running it should be questioned, as the YLP is under the Office of the Prime Minister. Therefore, the known OPM who has misused funds, which is not breaking news, but more of the same. While it was revealed there was ghosts in the YLP. This has been known for a while. The was a similar report made in 2017, as it was in 2019. That is why I will show them. To prove the similarities and lack of change.

Just take a look.

Article from 2017:

A recent government investigation has unearthed gross corruption, ghost groups, illegal fees charged for application forms and poor monitoring of the programme countrywide. The same evil has crept into the newly established Women Livelihood Programme started in 2015. The new findings back up the 2016 auditor general’s report, which found the Youth Livelihood Programme did not have a proper accounting framework. The report also found that recovery of funds was so low and some beneficiaries had vanished in at least 35 districts, including Masaka, Rakai, Wakiso, Kalangala and Kalungu. According to the ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, at least Shs 84.55 billion has so far been disbursed in loans to over 144,235 individuals affiliated to 11,503 youth groups countrywide, but only Shs 6.7 billion had been recovered by the end of January 2017” (Arua District Local Government – ‘PROBE FINDS ROT IN YOUTH LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMME’ 22.07.2017).

URN reported on the 4th January 2019:Among the queries raised by the auditor general John Muwanga in the reports, is the existence ghost beneficiaries under the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP) – noting that about 527 million of the fund money is non-traceable. The money was allegedly spent on ghost groups in 30 districts randomly sampled during the audit period” (URN – ‘MPs grill Bigirimana over youth fund ghost beneficiaries’ 04.01.2019).

Before, I settle down on the matter, there was also a communique from the National Resistance Movement Youth League letter of the 14th October 2016, when the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affair Hon. Nakiwala Kyingi, that all Youth Chairman should be connected with Local Technocrats, where they decide that NRM-YL had to use the YLP system to get funds. This was decided in 2016. Therefore, since then, the NRM-YL and others have to make YLP Projects to get funding and loans.

As we knows that, at the same time-frame of the Auditor General report claims funds gone mission in various of districts, also ghost projects and others. Proving this is deliberate actions done by people, who are eating of the YLP. They are using this designated funds to secure wealth or spend on whatever, without any proof.

This is clearly evident of corrupt behaviour and misuse of government funds. That is not new in the Republic either. The YLP is following a long line of short-cons in the government. In 2017, there was talk of vanishing funds in 30 districts, in 2019, there is talk of 35 districts. Certainly, this is managed and mismanaged deliberatly by the Public Officials. Peace.

CENI: Mot de S.E.M. Le President de la CENI (06.01.2019)

Opinion: CENI Postpones the provincial results, they need more time to cook the results!

Well, the Elections of 30th December 2018 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which were supposed to be delivered the partial results today on the 6th January 2019. They are now officially postponed, if this isn’t a message, then nothing is. This is the CENI and the FCC preparing the results in their favour, as they need more time to cook the results. Even as the CENCO and Opposition knows there is something wrong with the authorities. Who are working on overtime, to secure fixed results. To say otherwise is naive at this point.

The CENI, Kabila and FCC are playing with the public, as they are avoiding the delivery of the results, as they want to secure the numbers in their favour. There are nothing else to say at this stage. This is the misuse of power, lack of respect of the voters and the citizens. If they were respected, the CENI would deliver the counted numbers quicker and close to New Years Eve. As it shouldn’t be this hard to announce the counted results, as the verified polling stations forms should have been scanned or delivered within short amount time.

This is all deliberate acts of deception and taking the public for fools, as the CENI and administration there. Knows that CENCO and others, has results and provincial results, which states certain things. That CENI and Kabila will not accept. They are trying to forge a road, where the heir gets in power. That seems like whole idea.

Because today is the 6th January 2019, it has been 8 days since the polls. The CENI is trying to forge their way. While the authorities have ensured a black-out, so that information of the elections is not on social-media and elsewhere. As the evidence and partial results will not be spread. That is showing the works of the government, as they don’t trust the public or the freedom of information. As they have even continued to block the internet, social media and also SMS as well.

Therefore, we can really question and we can have a feeling why the CENI is doing this. They wouldn’t need this long time to deliver and ensure the announcement the results, unless, they needed time to cook the results. Because, it cannot be this hard to official announce the polls. Unless, they want to play the public for fools. Peace.

Opinion: FGS and Villa Somalia won over Haysom, but what gives?

That Special Representative for Somalia and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) Nicholas Haysom wrote a letter to Federal Government of Somalia of 30th December 2018. Which has brought a fire-storm. That led to the order from the FGS or Villa Somalia on the 2nd January 2019, that he was put on notice as a “Person Non-Grata”. On the 4th January 2019, the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres wrote a statement, that he was going to replace Haysom as the Representative and Head of UNSOM.

Certainly, the FGS and Villa Somalia have been playing high stakes, they have sort of won now. The FGS and Villa Somalia might seems like they won with dodging Haysom and his ways. However, even as a sovereign state are allowed to decide who works and stays within their republic. Nevertheless, the FGS and Villa Somalia are in need of the UNSOM and the foreign donations to run their government. Therefore, the state has to work with the UNSOM, because of how the times are in Mogadishu.

Even if President Farmaajo and Prime Minister Kheire have won this one against Haysom. Because he asked about the actions and arrests done by the state. That the UNSOM was asking for an inquiry into the actions of the arrest surrounding the arrest of Mukhtar Robow, the former Al-Shabab leader who was running for Public Office in one of the Member States. This has clearly put strains on the working-relations between the parties. Which is evident by the timeline and the actions done since December 2018.

We can really see how Robow participating in politics is creating hostilities, that the FGS and Villa Somalia is struggling with it. And when UNSOM wondered about their actions. Instead of answering and owning up to their actions. They expelled the man asking questions. The FGS and Villa Somalia could have acted with sense, but instead acted with haste. The UNSOM could have answered and suspended more activity. Like the European Commission, United Kingdom and Germany did on the 2nd January to suspend funding of the Joint Police Programme in South West State, where the actions was. Therefore, the FGS and Villa Somalia knows perfectly well, that their actions has consequences outside of Mogadishu.

There is clearly actions happening, that there are implications in the South West State and their internal election. Also, there are most likely a new representative and head of UNSOM. That person, might even be more direct and go directly to the President and PM, to get answers when the state acts with violence and arrests. That is why UNSOM head asked for an inquiry. Which is natural after the state uses deadly force. Just like the UNSOM and FGS should ask for after every single use of drone attacks by the US Army on Somalian territory. The FGS and Villa Somalia should wish that, as they want to be transparent and answer for possible misgivings.

That the FGS and Villa Somalia won today is evident. But if they will win with more hostile actions against the UN? I doubt that, because how much gives, right?

The FGS and Somalia is a sovereign, but at the same time. As so much of their operations are done through the United Nations and with foreign donations. They should be working closer with them and find out the initial reason why a UN Representative asks for something and what is the reason. Not just banishing them, making them illegal aliens in the Republic. They should find solutions and be statesmen. Not just big-men without consideration for protocol. Cannot the political landscape of Villa Somalia and FGS handle letters from the UNSOM, but only papers promising funds for government operations?

That is what it looks like and its not a good look! Peace.

RDC: CSAC lettre du Theodore Ngoy – “Concerne: Notification Decision” (05.01.2019)

United Nations Secretary-General, Mr. Antonio Guterres letter to UN staff in Somalia (04.01.2019)

Opinion: Someone was arrested over nothing – Just for name-calling Bosco!

You a certain individual have been ruling the Republic too long. When the news of arrests being done in the aftermath of your to brazen convoy passes on narrow roads. Where the local youth are addressing the steady progress and the inefficiency of the government, by arresting them. This being the Presidential Convoy, being hazzelled by the youth, as the Presidential Guards felt they insulted the old man with the hat, the grandfather of rap and the State House. They insulted him, nicknaming him. What they already are calling him: BOSCO.

Here is the news. Check it out.

Reported by Sadat Mbogo: “Kasumba allegedly abused the President on January 1 as he ( Museveni) was travelling from St. John’s Cathedral, Kasaka where he had attended New Year’s church service. “When his [Museveni’s] convoy reached Kanoni Town, Special Forces Command soldiers reportedly ordered one of the drivers to move his vehicle from the road to allow the presidential motorcade pass. This is when a group of youth allegedly led by Kasumba started exchanging words with the soldiers and abused President Museveni, calling him all sorts of names including Bosco. They also blamed him of constructing narrow roads,” a police source who did not want to be named because he’s not authorized to speak to the media said on Thursday” (Sadat Mbogo – ‘19-year-old man arrested for annoying Museveni’, 04.01.2019, link: https://www.monitor.co.ug/News/National/19-year-old-man-arrested-annoying-Museveni/688334-4921200-c5nuqez/index.html).

My first thought, is what sort of violation did the man and what law did he break? How come he get a criminal record for calling the President Bosco? Something, plenty does after the MTN Commercial came on the screen during 2018. Mr. President has so many nicknames, that he should be grateful, the youth didn’t call him anything from the Leopards Anus, Mr. Sunday, M-7 or anything else you could put on the old man with the hat.

Grandpa President, better chill and his Presidential Guards needs some guidance too. Because, I wonder still, what law did the man break? Did he carry a Arua Stone? Did he spread hot-air and create fuzz by saying the truth about the road?

Are you not allowed to tell officials and guards about the situation, as the Presidential Convoy takes the space on the way and presses the locals away. As the roads where the Presidential Convoy passed through, weren’t build for all this traffic. In that moment, the youthful made a statement and told the truth. A truth that was too brutal, that the man becomes a felon for doing so. Instead of consoling the citizen and caring for the words put. They have arrested him.

Seems like they are using the Sub-section 167 of the Penal Code: “(d) publicly conducts himself or herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace”. Which is really special, because speaking to the Presidential Guards as the Presidential Convoy are passing is called breaching the peace.

Would mean, that the soil that the President graces cannot be touched or anyone can cross that. Without fearing that they can be arrested. As the old-man with the hat has to travel on the roads, everyone has to give it a pass and not show their faces. They should be afraid to be close. Because if they are. They could all be arrested for all sorts of reasons.

Bosco cannot handle it and they will use all the means of the law to show their power. Since, there is no love lost between the community and the President. Since there is apparently, none. Peace.
