Opinion: Threat of a closure of the Dadaab Refugee Camp – Is it a bargaining chip?

This is not the first time the Kenyan Government have claimed they want to close the Kakuma and Dadaab Refugee Camp. That has been done before, they did this in May and June 2016. Even the Federal Republic of Somalia was worried at one point, that the refugees would suddenly return after the notification of the closure back then. Suddenly late in August 2016, the U.S. Government suddenly dropped more money on the Refugee Camps. Than, it became silence and no problem hosting them. The same happen with the European Union in 2017 and certainly, the same government hopes in happens in 2019. However, don’t be surprised, if someone get hooked on the bait.

Because in August 2016, the US Administration stated this:

WASHINGTON D.C., United States of America, August 23, 2016 – Today, Secretary of State John Kerry announced in Nairobi that the United States is providing more than $146 million in additional U.S. humanitarian assistance to support refugees, voluntary returnees, and drought victims in Kenya and Somalia. This new funding includes a significant new contribution of more than $59 million for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to protect and assist refugees in Kenya, and support voluntary refugee returns to Somalia. In addition, the funding includes new humanitarian assistance of more than $87 million in food and non-food support for refugees and drought victims in Kenya and Somalia. This announcement brings the total of U.S. humanitarian assistance in Kenya and Somalia to nearly $265 million in fiscal year 2016” (U.S. Department of State – ‘Additional Funding for Kenya and Somalia’ (23.08.2016)

The next year in 2017, in February the High Court of Kenya even blocked the Closure of the Refugee Camp. Even the European Parliament in May 2017 adopted a text on the Camp stating this:

whereas the EU has allocated EUR 286 million through the European Development Fund (EDF) for the period 2014-2020, focusing on the implementation of the ‘Compact’ and on state and peace building, food security, resilience and education in particular; whereas the EU Emergency Trust Fund (EUTF) for Africa was signed at the Valletta Summit on 12 November 2015 and was designed to address the root causes of destabilisation, forced displacement and irregular migration by promoting resilience, economic opportunities, equal opportunities, security and development; whereas the EU is responding to the lifesaving basic needs of refugees hosted in Kenyan refugee camps” (EU, 18.05.2017).

Why do I post these old statements on extra added funding for the Refugee Camps in Kenya. Well, the Kenyan Government is now known for having notified the UNHCR, that they would close the Dadaab Refugee Camp and not do it. Because, it is one solution and we all know why they do this. The refugee camps are bargain chips for more funding. This is what they do. It is not the first time and not the last.

This is also the knowledge of the Kenyan Government, that is why they can force again the rich Western Countries, the well-wishing, not-to-friendly wealthy benefactors for own personal benefit. So, they can pay a higher price and drop more jewels on the Refugee Camp. Because, that solves the problem at home and also keeps it going as it has been.

That is why the Kenyan government in the hour of need, in their mercy for some foreign exchange can expose their greed. Notify of the closure of the Refugee Camp. To ensure, that the Western Partners, the ones who donates aid, actually gives them some more. To keep the 30 year old venture up and also pay-off the cronies in Nairobi. Which also needs part of the stake in the Aid Business. They don’t want to skimped out of the well deserved funds for hosting these people.

That is why the same government have tried this trick in 2016, 2017 and now returns to the old venture of skimming money out a refugee problem, again in 2019. We could lie and say, they are really need in more funds and in dire need for such, and such. But then, we would kid ourselves and also the general public.

There are always need for more programs, better food and more possibilities for the ones staying a place Dadaab, but that is not the reason why the Kenyan government did notify the UNHCR. They are hungry and want to eat. It is their turn to eat. That is why the smelled the empty plates and want their UNGA too. Peace.

Aidah Nantaba MP Cover-Up: Instead of Assassination Plot!

Two days ago on the 24th March 2019, the news of a plotted assassination attempt hit many people’s radar. Especially considering the recent acts of similar fashion done in Kampala. However, as more and more testimonies are revealed and eyewitnesses comes forward. The botched attempt on the life of Member of Parliament and State Minister for ICT Aidah Nantaba, seems more likely.

The clear indication is the fact that the killed or murdered person, in cold blood was already in handcuffs before blasted into eternity. This was done with deliberate acts of mischief; this was not in self-defence, as the individual in question, which life was taken was partly in custody already before he was killed. Therefore, the previous stories of fear and agony of the MP doesn’t add up. The equation is now changed.

Because it is sort of impossible to follow the MP, when your already arrested as previously reported, which most media-houses did. They addressed it like the MP said and what she said happen. However, now that the eye witnesses has come forward, the story changes significantly and shows intent to cover-up the misdeed and killings of a civilian in cold-blood on the streets of Kampala.

Who knows why the MP and the Police killed the man, why they decided, that now was his time. This what you call an extra-judicial killing, a special operation of a cover up, where someone innocent was killed and after spinned as something else. That is how sinister this is.

Where everyone was supposed to feel about the MP and her possible death, as someone was haunting her, when all along it was her guards and the Police who killed someone. That is what is tragic about this. That a civilian who happen to cross the MP and her convoy, gotten killed by mere fact of being there. After being arrested and in contempt of courts, rules of law, the extra-judicial killing appeared and to up ease the situation. Make it look like a political assassinations, which has been of late. Therefore, that it looks believable. That is reality of this.

The justification and the whole ordeal is now a mess, a tragedy, it would have been the same if she was attempted killed as MP, however, that she used her power and her position, combined with the playing the guards. Shows how much power and lack of mercy there is in society. As the Police and the powerful persons can murder and do whatever they can to get away with it. As long as the story sticks, but with the interviews of eye-witnesses on NTV and NBS Television, shows, that the story of the MP and her associates doesn’t make sense.

They killed and innocent civilian and tried to cover it up. They murdered him and tried to spin the news. Which they did to a point, but now the reality is out. We wonder, how will this go down? Certainly, it shouldn’t go down without any consequences for the Police Officers, the MPs Guards or the MP herself. Which all lied and tried to deflect from the reality, which they created. Peace.

Tanzania: As Anticipated the Political Parties Amendments was to destroy the Opposition Parties!

Last year, the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and President John Pombe Magufuli issued amendments in 2018 on the Political Parties Act, which was issued this year. This is laws that is severely restricting the Political Parties in Tanzania. Today, it is official how seriously damaging these laws for the other parties in the United Republic. They really warned about the wrath and rage of the authorities. They are coming with an vengeance, like there is no tomorrow.

Today, there is released a letter sent to ACT Wazalendo, Zitto Kabwe party, one of the major opposition parties in the Republic. Today, Sisty L. Nyahoza letter to the party, warned the party, that it could get deregistered, because it hadn’t fulfilled it requirements concerning the release of information the annual statements on the finances of the party for the year of 2013 – 2017. Since, that is the matters of the state now. This is the statement of the Registrar of the Political Parties, which sent this letter or the Amwani ya Simu ‘SIASA’.

Therefore, today is a sad day for the democracy, this is a bad day for the Republic. As this was warned with the new legislation and knowledge, that has been out there since early 2018. It was on the horizon, but nobody wanted to warn of the rain, sun or even the snow. Because, everything was fine and dandy. Alas, if it is to much sun, it become drought, if it is to much it is a flood and if it is to much snow, there is a snow-storm. Therefore, the reaction of today wasn’t shocking nor surprising, but awaited.

The Tanzanian government became one step further with the amendments on the Political Parties Act. Even if the President and CCM claims otherwise, but when it becomes this easy to deregister opposition parties, shouldn’t the CCM also show the same transparency or is it cool; since they are in power and controls all parts of government?

We know President Magufuli is a whiny little bitch, who cannot muster any courage or balls to stand-up for his actions. A President that wants to be high and mighty, but acts like a coward. That who he is and that why, laws like this exists. Because, he doesn’t have the will or the ability to just install himself as the grandest man ever ruling the United Republic. The deity amongst men. That is who Magufuli is, at least how he acts.

It is time to just get his wish. The genie is out of the bottle and yet another step to ONE-PARTY STATE is there. Since, the Registrar of the Political Parties issued this warning and certainly with the knowledge of what the authorities has done already to the Opposition. The CCM has ensured hard life for the opposition and now it turns even worse.

Now ACT Wazalendo is in dire straits, unless the Registrar shows mercy, but if by history of the what the authorities does in Tanzania. In a short amount of time, the ACT Wazalendo will be over with. Then, it is the next victim… whoever that might be. Peace.

The Mueller Report is out: What gives?

Whatever you see you gotta keep a sense of humor; you gotta be able to smile through all the bullshit.”Tupac Shakur

Well, first thing first, the Special Counsel Robert Mueller Investigatory Report into Collusion, Obstruction of Justice and Electoral Malpractice is still in the limbo. Even if the third Attorney General under President Donald J. Trump, AG William Barr released a letter yesterday, out-lining what he saw fit. We don’t know the full extent of this investigation, neither the results or the proper findings of. Just mere coincidental information, that the AG saw purposeful to produce.

Therefore, at this mere junction in time. We don’t know how much information, what sort of intelligence or outreach the Trump Administration, the Trump Transition Team nor the Trump Campaign Team did with the Russians. Neither, what sort of connections and deals been made in the lurking shadows of the businesses, that the current day President has. Even the Trump Tower Moscow, the connection to Felix Sater Bayrock Group LLC and all the other shady agreements the Trump Organization have done over the years. Because, surely there is plenty and that’s why the President never released his tax-returns to the public.

With all this in mind, with all the indictments, all the counts of crimes put on individuals connected to Trump World. Still, the Presidency and the GOP claims that the President is vindicated. That is happening before the people have read the hard-copy of the Report, nor seen the pages or the exhibits connected to the passages in the Report. It is like black-magic, like a spell put on these gentlemen. To have all the answers without reading the whole paper.

When, in knowledge of what is already out there of information on the matter. With the loans, the pay-offs, the sudden swift changes of hacked emails and close proxies of the Trump Campaign. As they needed some juicy intel on Clinton to make him look like the golden goose. When he really wasn’t and his own people was in connection with Russian counterparts, which they never testified to do or even dared to clear before entering into office. If this was Michael Cohen, George Papadapolous, Michael Flynn, Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Junior, Jeff Sessions or Paul Manafort. None of this disclosed this before taking part or being a part of the campaign. Therefore, they are already indicating something wasn’t right with their operation. Still, the GOP and President claims, that everything is cool and dandy. Like nothing happen.

We can see a pattern, we can see the narratives and there are reasons to question it all. As the Trump Campaign and the Trump Administration acts like it has done on this. All along claimed innocence, but brutally assaulted others whose been in similar business. The Trump presidency have attacked Clinton and Obama, but not seen what they do themselves. They have claimed unsecure emails, but Kushner, Ivanka Trump and the President has used unsecured cellphones, private email servers and the President have even disclosed secrets within the bounds of the White House directly to Russian State Officials. That is how blatant disregard the President have for rule of law and following protocol. Because, no law and no justice system have ever touched him, he has always gotten away.

Even now, he thinks he can dig the report into dirt and hope people forget about it. That they forget about all the implicated people, all the detained and indicted people in his close circle. The ones that has shared time and space with him. That he has done business with and also conducted campaign planning with. This is the President of United States, ladies an Gentlemen.

We have to see the reported, unsealed and released to the Public. So, the public and the law-enforcement can act upon the crimes and alleged crimes committed. Not, just hearsay from a Trump Crony.

It is time to reveal it and unleash it on the world. Not just a 4 pages letter, which doesn’t say much. Even articles upon articles on this investigation says more, the court documents already produced and the counts of criminal conspiracy combined with the evidence produced. Shows there are more than what the AG said yesterday.

It is to early to be determine, but I’ll be damned if all of this ends like this. It was to damn easy, if this was the end of the two year long investigation. This is modern day Frank Lucas investigation. Time for the white privilege and the President to answer for all possible crimes, from blue-collar to possible conspiracy against the state. Because, that should be the end game, after the all the connections and communications done in secrecy and with intent. This shouldn’t be overshadowed and forgotten. That quick. We shouldn’t accept that. Not today and not tomorrow. Peace.

UNHCR rushing staff, supplies to assist people affected by Cyclone Idai (25.03.2019)

UNHCR efforts demonstrate solidarity with the people of the region who have for decades generously hosted refugees and shared their limited resources with them.

PRETORIA, South Africa, March 25, 2019 – UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is working with governments and humanitarian partners in Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi to provide relief to the survivors of the Tropical Cyclone Idai which struck the east coast of southern Africa on 14 and 15 March.

We are sending our emergency response teams – making available our expertise and staff, and aid supplies to assist those affected by the disaster without recent precedent in the region.

UNHCR efforts demonstrate solidarity with the people of the region who have for decades generously hosted refugees and shared their limited resources with them.

Our teams will support the on-going efforts to respond to the urgent life-saving needs of the affected people, including refugees.

We are mobilizing emergency shelter and core relief items from our global stockpiles to assist some 30,000 people in dire need, including affected refugees in Zimbabwe and their host communities, and the local population displaced by the cyclone.

The affected population is in dire need of basic relief supplies, food, health services and shelter. Our relief items will include family tents, shelter plastic tarpaulins, sleeping mats, cooking sets and utensils, Jerry cans, buckets, mosquito nets, solar lamps and soap.

In Mozambique, the most affected country, the government has declared a national emergency as the death toll from the effects of the Cyclone climbs above the reported 242 and is expected to exceed 1,000. The country is currently home to some 25,000 refugees – who have fortunately not been directly affected.

In Zimbabwe, the government has declared a state of disaster, and 104 people are reported to have died as a result of the cyclone. Two districts are reported to have been severely affected, including Chipinge District, host to Tongogara refugee camp. The camp currently has some 13,000 refugees, many of whom have suffered injuries, but no fatalities.

UNHCR is conducting rapid assessments in Tongogara camp to determine the extent of the damage, however, based on available information 2,000 refugee houses, mainly built using mud bricks, were completely or partially damaged. Over 600 latrines have collapsed, and borehole water is feared to be contaminated due to flood waters. There is a real danger of an outbreak of waterborne diseases.

The refugee host communities have also been affected, and it is estimated that 100,000, Zimbabwean residents of Chipinge District, including some 20,000 who live near the refugee camp, are in immediate need of life-saving humanitarian assistance.

In Malawi, the government has also declared a state of national disaster, and 84 people are reported to have died. At least 15 districts and two cities have been impacted, with approximately 840,000 people affected nationally by the floods.

About 94,000 people are displaced and sheltering in makeshift sites for internally displaced people. Refugee locations in Malawi were not directly affected.

More than 4,400 Mozambican nationals – including women and children, have been forced to seek safety from the Cyclone’s devastation in Nsanje district, in Malawi. We plan to assist both Mozambican new arrivals and their Malawian hosts.

UNHCR has decades-long experience speedily responding to refugee humanitarian emergencies around the world.
