Houses of the Oireachtas August report explaining the grand-issues remaining between Ireland and NI because of the Brexit!

Taoiseach Enda Kenny, speaking in Brussels on the 2nd of March 2017 said, “the Good Friday Agreement contains the opportunity to put in these negotiations language that has already been agreed in internationally binding agreement, that at some future time were that position to arise, that if the people by consent were to form a united Ireland that that could be a seamless transfer as happened in the case of East Germany and West Germany when the Berlin Wall came down.” (Houses of the Oireachtas, P: 248, 2017).

There must be times that the ones who voted for Brexit must regret it. Since the challenges and consequences are now unraveling. The House of the Oireachtas has come with an extensive report. That you should read yourself to get the deepness of the issues and the wishes of the Republic of Ireland, who in dept hope that Northern Ireland and Ireland get reunited like Germany did in the 1990s. There are more the things to look into, like the clear deficit between the United Kingdom, the Northern Ireland and Republic.

The are other issues like the border, which will be a genuine issue for both United Kingdom, European Union, the Member State Ireland and the nation within United Kingdom Northern Ireland. That the border, with the movement of trade, people and all other co-operations. Not just immigration with the Irish, who can pass and who has to apply between the borders of Northern Ireland towards Ireland. It will require direct borders on the crossings and also visas. Not only economical pressure because of the Brexit, but all the other grand issues.

Northern Irish Deficit:

The theoretical question of the Northern Ireland contribution to the EU through the UK annual contribution and a subsequent financial benefit from ending those contributions is a moot one. The deficit in Northern Ireland is such that any theoretical contribution is in fact made with money borrowed from central government. The Northern Ireland deficit (confining the spending definition rather generously as identifiable spending under the block DEL grants plus Annual Managed Expenditure) is 15% of GVA versus a UK budget deficit of 3.4% (in 2016). Given the UK Treasury intends to have a surplus in the next parliament, along with the potential for a large final exit bill and the threat to tax revenues, should Brexit cause an economic slowdown any benefit from ending the UK contributions to the EU is likely to be small if at all and for Northern Ireland will be irrelevant. Therefore, for Northern Ireland to be net neutral after Brexit the UK government will have to sponsor all current EU programmes” (Houses of the Oireachtas, P: 40, 2017).

United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland – Hard Border:

However, a memo from the European parliament’s legal affairs committee, which is helping shape the negotiating position of the European commission and the red lines of the European parliament, rebuffs that suggestion: “The [Good Friday] agreement makes it abundantly clear that the fact that both parts of Ireland and the UK are within the EU is a basis for the agreement. Moreover, the fact that Brexit could result in the reintroduction of border controls and controls on the free movement of persons between Ireland and Northern Ireland means this is a question for the EU, and not only Ireland and the UK.” (…) “Historically, customs controls have operated on both sides of the border from 1923 until their abolition on 1 January 1993, when the EU Single Market came into effect. In addition, security checkpoints operated on both sides of the border during the Troubles, from 1970 to the late 1990s—although the border security regime operated only partially, even at the height of the Troubles, because the Government in London recognised that a ‘hard’ border would inflame tensions in the Nationalist community. Other controls have been instituted on an ad hoc basis. For instance, in 2001 the Republic of Ireland operated systematic controls at the Irish border to curtail the spread of foot and mouth disease” (Houses of the Oireachtas, P: 69, 2017).

Visa Issues:

The UK’s exit from the EU will remove this basis of entry and residence in the UK. It will therefore directly affect the position of EU citizens and the members of their families who seek to enter or reside in the UK. EU citizens who are Irish citizens are, as previously outlined, subject to a separate regime under the UK’s Ireland Act 1949 and Immigration Act 1971. However, family members of those Irish citizens who are not themselves Irish citizens will not qualify for that status” (…) “The UK’s exit from the EU raises questions concerning the minimal checks on travelers between the Republic and Great Britain and the virtual absence of such checks on travelers between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The Republic of Ireland is not a party to the Schengen arrangements removing border restrictions between EU Member States, but it remains subject to Article 21 of the TFEU and Directive 2004/38. These oblige it to admit EU nationals subject only to the conditions outlined earlier in this paper. If, after its exit from the EU, the UK chooses to limit the access it grants to non-Irish EU nationals, such restrictions will very likely require some sort of checks or inspections on arrivals from the Republic at ports, airports and even border crossings with Northern Ireland. This would amount to a fundamental change in the nature of the CTA” (Houses of the Oireachtas, P: 82-83, 2017).

Northern Ireland is more in the squeeze by Brexit, than the Republic:

For Ireland, the longer-term effects of Brexit on trade are uncertain and are also predicated on the outcome of negotiations. In the immediate term, the fall in the value of Sterling has meant that Irish exports are less competitive in the UK market. The UK export market accounted for 13.8 per cent of total Irish exports in 2015 (See Figure2). Northern Ireland is a relatively small export market for Ireland, accounting for just 1.6 per cent of total exports in 2015. The UK was the source of 25.7 per cent of Irish imports in 2015. From an overall trade perspective, therefore, the Republic is a much more significant trade market for Northern Ireland, than Northern Ireland is for the Republic, both in terms of export and imports” (Houses of the Oireachtas, P: 138, 2017).

All of this should worry the Northern Irish, the United Kingdom, that they have these issues to deliver. To fix the problems with the border, with the Schengen and Visa’s that are not valid as a non-member state of the European Union. The Northern Ireland will have both a harder border and with the trade. The deficit and the loss of EU programs that are suspended. So the UK has to fix their budget to make sure the government of Northern Ireland has enough funding after the suspension of programs. The second is to find solutions to the trade between the borders after the grand-issue of trade agreement with a third-party nation of United Kingdom. Since the UK and Northern Ireland has to create another agreement with Ireland to fix the issues, but they are a Member State in the EU, so they have to follow the procedures of Brussels and apply for special provisions.

We can also see that the Republic of Ireland in the is report wants a United Ireland. That is not surprising, that they want the whole island to be united and one. Not be separated, but the colonial and historical unionist wants to separate the Irish, to be able to control the Irish. That is why the London government in the past has created issues on the Island. To say something else, is to forget history. Now, the United Kingdom needs Northern Ireland and they are in bed with Unionists. Therefore, the United dream of Ireland, will not be an effort that the UK and Northern Irish will fight for. Even if the NI leaders will not give away their power in London for being united with Dublin. Clearly, this report shows the struggles of Brexit and their relationship with Ireland. Peace.

Trump is the Golfing President!

Boredom forces you to ring people you haven’t seen for eighteen years and halfway through the conversation you remember why you left it so long. Boredom means you start to read not only mail-order catalogues but also the advertising inserts that fall on the floor. Boredom gives you half a mind to get a gun and go berserk in the local shopping centre, and you know where this is going. Eventually, boredom means you will take up golf.”Jeremy Clakson

Donald J. Trump, the American President has been President only for 196 days. Not so long and has had a rocky road. I am quickly and briefly looking into the high-energy and not taking vacations. Something he promised the electorate and the citizens of United States, just like everything else. He lied and keep lying. First take some quotes and where he was shaming his predecessor Barrack Obama, before we looks into his extensive time-offs since getting into office. Clearly, he is playing a lot of golf. The stats and numbers of that is taken from Trumpgolfcount.com, which is page you should check-out if you don’t believe me.

What President Trump said on the 13th November 2016:

When Stall told Trump it is $400,000 per year, he said, “No, I’m not going to take the salary. I’m not taking it.” (…) “There’s just so much to be done,” Trump said. “So I don’t think we’ll be very big on vacations, no.” (CNN Wire, 2016).

On criticizing Obama for vacations:

Trump has long criticized President Obama for his yearly summer and winter breaks. “He takes more vacations than any human being I’ve ever seen,” Trump told Fox News host Greta Van Susteren in 2011. “It sends a bad message. Here we have a country that really is going to hell in a handbasket. . . . And we have a president that’s constantly, whether it’s Martha’s Vineyard or someplace else, constantly on vacation.” (Tracy, 2016).

So the man who complained and nagged on Obama, are clearly a giant hypocrite and is very low-energy. He doesn’t have the stamina or the will-power to stay in the White House. Certainly, he loves his estates and golf-courses more than actually working on policies and executive orders.

Numbers until now at Mar-A-Lago!

In Miami Mar-A-Lago he has spent 25 days. That is over 3 weeks at the Miami Golf-Course and private club. He has taken 7 flights there and is estimated cost of $ 14,392,000. That is the estimated of the flights down from Washington D.C. not the cost of local reinforcement of police, the cost of Secret Service and all the other efforts to secure the President.

Numbers until now at Trump National Bedminister:

In another club he owns and in New Jersey, the President has spent 11 days at Bedminister. He has had 6 flights costing the public tax-payer $ 3,598,000 in flight charges. That is not taking the extra cost of Secret Service, other security officials like Police and local authorities securing the Trump National Bedminister. This is something that would cost the New Jersey state extra, just like the visits to Miami and Florida State. At the 31st of July 2017, the President had already been golfing for 41 days in his now 196 days into office.

So with this in mind, as plans to spend 17 more days at the Trump National Bedminister in New Jersey. This means the count when is done is 48 days of total 212, which means that ¼ of his days in office by 212 has been spent on a self-owned golf-club. So that he was bashing others for their vacations and playing golf. Was so, so wrong, since he is himself worse and the biggest orange hypocrite in history.

This is how the Boston Globe staff describe his vacation place:

Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, they noted, is located in Somerset County, one of the tonier sections of New Jersey that are not visible from the New Jersey Turnpike” (…) “Trump’s property cost him a cool $35 million in 2002 (expensive!),” they wrote. “(A)nd … membership at the Trump-owned golf course there reportedly costs $300,000 (too rich for our blood!)” (Fox News, 2017).

So he is again at golf-club, who seems overprice and expensive, but that wasn’t surprising. Clearly, the amount of time spent on his own properties and his own companies. Are showing how he plans to spend public funding on himself and his businesses, that is still owned by family and controlled by the family. While other Presidents has sold their businesses or put them in blind trust, not like Trump, who has given Eric Trump and Donald Trump Junior the control. So he can have it all close and tight-knit.

But he is a lazy President, a low-energy and a weak one. Since he is using one-fourth of the time on the green and not in the office. That is why there is no legislation victory or written that could get both chambers to win from the President. That is why the Tax Plan is mere a Christmas Wish-list, than actually policy. Koch Brothers should get their greed-on and their drink-on since it is their wishes that will be fulfilled.

President Trump could have worked for Taylor-Made and not for the White House. Since he spends so little time there. Peace.

The Tories-DUP Government gotten many new Brexit hurdles to crossover!

This wasn’t supposed to be this hard, never was it supposed to be so tricky and rocky, but Prime Minister Theresa May and her friend in Downing Street are not composing themselves in a simple way. From the outside, there are made to many rookie mistakes and also not enough precautions of the reactions to the United Kingdom Government own activity. Certainly, the alliance with Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland isn’t making it easier. Since the London Government needs the Belfast ally to stay alive and breathing. That Issue has really come alive in the last two weeks, bot the value of the Nations within in the Union itself can be questioned, because the acts of Prime Minister May.

You are reckless and ruthless when your a nation of Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England, plus a bunch of other territories, part of the Commonwealth. The United Kingdom Government, the Her Majesties Government, the Tories-DUP, the London-Belfast Alliance, should work carefully to the pledges and promises of impartiality, that meaning if the Welsh First Minister ask for more funding. It should happen, since the Northern Irish had a massive pay-day. When the Supply-And-Demand Agreement got signed. Also when the First Minister of Scotland needs to strengthen her seal and represent the Scottish Government. That FM should be respected by the Prime Minister. But in our days of loyalty to the Belfast. The PM only respect First Minister of Northern Ireland Arlene Foster and not FM of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon. Even pay her respects to First Minister Carwyn Jones. Just take a look!

Ditches the First Minister of Scotland:

A Tory minister quoted in a newspaper report yesterday signalled the end of the one-to-one meetings between the two party leaders. The “First Minister will no longer get access to the Prime Minister. She should be meeting David Mundell because he is the same level as her,” the source said. Reportedly, the Tories believe May coming to Scotland and making her first meeting as prime minister with Sturgeon, and posing for photographs on the steps of Bute House, made the Scottish leader “look like an international dignitary, rather than the leader of a devolved nation”. The remarks will infuriate not just SNP supporters but many in the Scottish Parliament, incensed that Downing Street believe the position of First Minister is equal to that of Secretary of State for Scotland” (Learmonth, 2017).

So it is not enough issues that the Prime Minister acts as a Royal and disgraces the First Minister of Scotland, because she favors her new friend in First Minister of Northern Ireland, Arlene Foster gave her the needed bump to still stay in Downing Street. That is why she can recklessly put First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in the shadow, but would she do the same to First Minister Carwyn Jones of Wales? Because of all of them are wearing their seals of their nations, which is part of the United Kingdom, a Union itself. It is not like London and England can rule over the territories without any checks- or balances. That is how it seems, since now the FM of Scotland has to be connected with Scottish State Secretary David Mundell before getting time with PM Theresa May. Wonder if FM Jones has to meet the Wales State Secretary before talking to the PM. We all know that FM Foster can walk straight into the Downing Street and demand respect because their agreement. It shows the political value of Northern Ireland and DUP, compared to the rest. While the DUP are not supposed to create an impartiality problem within the PM May government compared to the devolution and Stormont. Still, it seems so now, since Foster has elevated, while the Scottish are put into the shadow. That is why the Irish questions by the Brexit, makes it even further tumultuous in the negotiations with the EU. Since the Republic of Ireland want it to just and fair border. Something the House of Lords looked into in 2016. Take a look at what the Lords said and what the Taiseach said this week!

House of Lords Report No. 76:

Retaining customs-free trade between the UK and Ireland will be essential if the current soft border arrangements are to be maintained. The experience at other EU borders shows that, where a customs border exists, while the burden and visibility of customs checks can be minimised, they cannot be eliminated entirely. Nor, while electronic solutions and cross-border cooperation are helpful as far as they go, is the technology currently available to maintain an accurate record of cross-border movement of goods without physical checks at the border” (…) “The only way to retain the current open border in its entirety would be either for the UK to remain in the customs union, or for EU partners to agree to a bilateral UK-Irish agreement on trade and customs. Yet given the EU’s exclusive competence to negotiate trade agreements with third countries, the latter option is not currently available” (HL Paper 76, 12.12.2016).

Taiseach Leo Varadkar statement on the border:

Varadkar said: “What we’re not going to do is to design a border for the Brexiteers because they’re the ones who want a border. It’s up to them to say what it is, say how it would work and first of all convince their own people, their own voters that this is actually a good idea. As far as this government is concerned there shouldn’t be an economic border. We don’t want one.” The Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin has said avoiding a hard border after Brexit will require “flexible and imaginative solutions”. The foreign affairs minister, Simon Coveney, told the Irish national broadcaster, RTE: “There is no proposal that is suggesting that there be a border in the Irish Sea.” (The Guardian, 2017).

When the UK-Irish agreement will be put on hold and made sure of a reasonable border, the United Kingdom will have another type agreement with the EU. Since they are not a direct member, but their whole arrangement will be concerning, which sort of trade agreement the UK will have with the EU. Since Ireland is part of the EU, the basic deal that UK will have with EU, will involve directly the manner of how the border will look. The open border will not be to Northern Ireland, if they become a third nation towards the EU, they will have to follow the measures that entails. It is not just customs, but migration in general.

So the Taiseach says the United Kingdom has to make a border that is fair since the voted for it. This shouldn’t hurt the Irish, because it was UK election who decided to have this and control their borders. That means, they also wants secure the borders towards Ireland and between Northern Ireland. Not only towards the rest of Europe and Calais, it must be broader and more systematic. Certainly, the Tories and the Brexiteers didn’t think this would be an issue, but they have to by all means work with a reasonable border, compared to how it is today. The UK has to respect their will to divorce themselves and the possible trade-agreement will affect their relationship with Ireland. Also, the effects between the joint peace agreement in Northern Ireland and how the border agreements there was written in.

This will be rocky road and nothing is certain, even the seals of the Scottish isn’t respected, only the Northern Irish FM Foster has that, wonder what sort of relationship the FM of Wales has with the PM. Especially, since the FM of Wales, also wants a payout to his Nation, since the Northern Irish got a massive pay-day after the snap-election. This Brexit will make the internal Union ugly, not only throwing trash at the Brussels, they have to clear-up show in Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast, as of their standing within the Union of United Kingdom. Peace.

Uganda: Major National Review Recommends Ways of Ending Hunger in Uganda (27.07.2017)

Opinion: The Russian Probe continued investigation will most likely lead to more Obstruction of Justice from President Trump!

President Donald J. Trump are having real issues with the Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the Russian Probe. Clearly, the investigation who has had two closed doors sessions with son-in-law Jared Kushner, who sounded like a crispy crème softie and not like powerful man with to many jobs in the White House for his experience levels! Secondly, trying to make something sound like nothing, when you failed to disclosed it several of times. In addition, the SF-86 Forms and also the other Russian meetings failed to mention. Nevertheless, as the closed-sessions will not go public of yet, the will be more drip-drops of Russian connections to the New York Gang.

President Trump are having hard time with the Russian monies proven to building and investing in estate and properties in Florida. Also, oligarchs and lawyers who are used by Russian businesses have been used by Trump. So it is special that the next appointment to the Department of Justice has ties to the Russian Alfa Bank, he is Brian A. Benczkowski and than even the new White House Director Anthony Scarramucci has gotten funds through Russian businesses. It doesn’t matter where Trump goes, he knows someone who has earned monies or connections to Russia.

It is like that in the New York Gang, therefore the undisclosed meetings will show even more as EUROPOL are knitting together an investigation together with the Attorney General of New York, Eric Schneiderman to figure out the ties between Human Trafficking of Woman and the Trump Organization. Clearly, the New York Gang has more dark secrets, than just their possible shady deals of money laundering and questionable transactions.

So it seems strange to write like this an about sitting President and not a dreaded gang leader. But than on the hand. He wants everyone to pledge loyalty, so he has really shown his lacking character again when addressing his loyal Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Sessions been with him since he was just a Senator from Alabama. A career politician who was a fringe politician with starch views, that fitted the now White House Advisor Stephen Bannon. Therefore, he was a nice spotted figure into the cabinet and become the AG of the United States. Still, he did early “Recuse” himself from the Russian Probe. That hurt the President, because he expected to have someone there to obstruct justice for him.

Jeff Sessions, couldn’t get involved and therefore after the firing of FBI Director James Comey, that was in the time when the FBI was asking for more funds for their investigation into the Probe. Therefore, as the investigation goes, the Senate Committee and the Special Counsel Mueller will dig deep into tax-returns, business transactions and all sort of activity the President don’t want the world to now about. It has been allegations, but this will verify the crimes and the collusion. Not only Steel’s golden showers in Moscow, but all sort of activity no future President should have ever done. That using the Italian Mob to stifle the builders and Polish Brigade to build the Trump Tower, while all construction workers was on strike, but the mobsters was pushing the workers at the site. That is back in history, but in present the New York Gang are feeling the pinch. Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump has both hired attorneys, the same has Donald Trump Junior, as the Trump himself has a trio of unlucky representatives for himself.

But as the case is progressing so is the President frustration. He expected a loyal lapdog in Jeff Sessions, not someone who would be respecting of laws and following the institution of the Department of Justice. That is why he already got rid of Comey, because he didn’t obstruct the law for him. Trump cannot handle that the Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Junior are going into closed sessions with the Senate, even as Charles Grassley are giving way and not being strict on the possible meetings with the New York Gang. The Senate and GOP Senators are still helping the cause.

Though that is not enough for the President and his family. They need to get the ability to trigger mass sackings of Cabinet and Law Officials. They need to get rid of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, so they can have reasons for making him resign. Even if it would be a relief for the President to sack Sessions and than get rid of Mueller. The investigation would not stop, but through some hurdles. The obstruction of already getting rid of Comey, got acting McCabe in-charge of FBI, as no-one has been appointed to become FBI Director. The same sort of fate might happen when they know what happen to the loyal Trumpist Sessions. Who the President had no issue with discharging when it didn’t fit his program anymore. That was not making America Great, but saving the President’s ass.

There shouldn’t be any salvage, when the President would go to this step to avoid the investigation as the head will roll, all in favor of him. Surely, in his gangs of comrades with Russian Connections. He can find another brother who will sought his favor and be his loyal cadre. Even if Sessions was as loyal as it gets and would be discarded like cold-coffee. Just because he was wise and respected his Attorney General position. Not that I respect any of the acts of the man in-charge of Department of Justice and his fear for immigrants and hard-line crime embargoed sanctions. That is just a short explanation of the matter of acts that Sessions do.

Still, the Russian Probe is not making it easy for Trump, even as the many possible colluding important persons hasn’t been questioned like Robert Mercer or Stephen Bannon, who both became vital parts of the campaign. Neither, has more of the Trump Organization and former associates who could have important information about the Russian connects. Certainly, when Mueller and his team scans through the portfolio of documents, the pattern will surface and the people who was initial offering and doing will be seen. You can wonder the Capitol Hill Republicans know and what the Republican National Committee and Republican Party has knowledge of. As the private discussions proves that Paul Ryan knows, certainly Mitch McConnell and Reince Prebus must know something too. These are not people not talking and planning together. They know this and will work accordingly.

That the Russians who has done business with Trump for decades and saved his business most likely after the Atlantic City Casino’s went bankrupt and his fortune was dwindling away. Certainly, there was leeway for a salvation in Moscow. That is right now conspiracy, but with mounting debt and not had a genuine winning business-model in a decade. The Russian would be a grand scheme of promises and hope into a shrinking-in coffers. Oligarchs using fronts and American registered companies connected with and part of the Trump Organization, who could launder funds and secure use of dirty money in the open market. This would be a good-pay day for the one who tended to bankrupt and deplete his businesses.

For now that is a conspiracy, but could easily be the trick, because Trump isn’t that deep or wise. That is the proof of reason shadow-play with gender and other issues. While the burning revelations of Russian connections keeps coming in an evil-circle that the President cannot control. The Pardons, the Executive authority and the Presidency are not above the law. Even if the Congress for the moment are careless and letting it go. Not letting anything stick and making it hard like they did on Hillary Clinton and her mistake in Benghazi. If they did the same, the Republicans would have spent 800 hours in open hearings and with critical questions into the Russian Hacking and tampering of the Election 2016. Still, they don’t as they acting as accomplice to the matter and trying to shield themselves from the misfortune.

Trump, should not get off the hook. He has wished ill on everyone, now he is attacking the Attorney General to obstruct justice. Stop investigation and get a possibility to sack Mueller to. That would be a dream and also, in the mind of Trump a way of silencing the investigations. While this might only trigger more investigations and more scrutiny, as well be nail in the coffin. No more speculation, as Mike Flynn legacy linger in the balance of foreign suspect funds, the same does now appear for the Trump legacy and the Trump Organization, who is every single day studied and revealed the shadows of the reality. A reality that the President didn’t want to reveal, as he has kept most of that secret. Except for the show pieces and wished values of his self-esteem and supposed profits. That cannot be proven. Unless, the Tax Returns who haunts him and the knowledge of them are in the investigators who can see and study the transactions of questionable concern.

President Trump seem scared and afraid of the outcome and trying to find ways of stopping it. While he should know that his tactics and his attitude, neither his ways are not stopping it, but letting it do. What it do, because if he acts, it will only get worse and his fate will fail more and more. The leverage and the possible value of him will drop to null-and-void. President will risk the fate of majority of Republican’s position in the House and Senate, as their unfavorable Health Care Legislation as well as his reckless and ruthless acts against the state. Will show the true spirit of the President and his values. That he and his ego are more important than institutions. Also he are not to be questioned, just let him be. The American people shouldn’t accept this, but certain people will. Because of their misunderstood admiration of Trump. They don’t see that he can take it all away and give it all to the rich. While smiling and lying daily on the paycheck of the citizens. The proof is in pudding. The allegations will be studied and the possible breaches are there. Just like they we’re in the Trump University case. The bait and switch, could easily have been used previously and again.

The Russian Probe need to be the focus and the connections that we’re in the Trump Campaign and the years previous to it. The monies run through the Trump Organization and the businesses involved there. There are certainly enough of those to wonder if Trump and family know more Russians, than they know New Yorkers. Peace.

Tanzania: Acacia – Receipt of Tax Assessments – This Announcement contains Inside Information (24.07.2017)

Ethiopia hit by a new strike: the ‘Anti-Tax Strike’ in Amhara and Oromia Region!

Again, has the TPLF and Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), the Central Government from Addis Abeba has made decisions to hit the Amhara and Oromia Regions. This time not only with arrests and detaining people who are protesting. At some levels they sent soldiers and Aghazi squad to assassinate protesters. So now they have levied extra taxes because of the cost of the military expenses in the region. Which is offensive as the Central Government are already oppressing them with guards and bullets, now they will target these civilians with higher taxes. This is shutting down the profits and businesses. Therefore, the Anti-Tax strikes are reasonable, as it is an open-air theft of the labor and enterprising people of the Oromia and Amhara. Just take a look!

The new government proposal to boost the tax base and raise much-needed government revenue is facing different forms of protests in the country, especially in Oromia region” (Dahir, 2017).

The Addis Standard newspaper says that last week residents in one city, Ambo, damaged two state-owned vehicles, and this week businneses in other cities have shut in protest. The new tax is being levied on small businesses with an annual turnover of up to 100,000 birr ($4,300; £3,300) in an effort to boost the tax base and raise much needed government revenue. But the Addis Standard reports that business owners say tax assessors have over-estimated their revenue and are demanding too much”

Strikes have been reported in Shebel Berenta, Woreta, Dessie, Woldia while flyers calling for strikes have been distributed in a number of localities in north Shewa. As the strikes in the Oromo region have continued, Jimma Arjo district, 50 kilometers outside Nekemte has come to a standstill, according to reports reaching ESAT. The tax assessments on small businesses and vendors has faced push-backs by business owners who say assessors have overestimated their daily sales” (ESAT, 2017).

So the state, who has put the whole state under ‘State of Emergency’ last October 2016 are now targeting the rebellious regions and hurting them not only with the parts of their freedoms, but also their pockets. Just because the Central Government cannot act fair towards Amhara and Oromia, they have to sanction more taxes and pay for the security outfits there. The ones types of Police and Army that oppress and hurts the area. That is one of the reasons why the rebellion are there in the first place. If the government acted legit and was representative, then they wouldn’t need to reinforce and use Aghazi force to suppress the public.

With all of the measures done by the TPLF/EPRDF in Addis, they are not feeling the hurt or seeing the vicious attempt of governing. When the civilians are tormented and taken hostage by the army and police. Now they have to pay extra taxes to salve the government spending on these hostile forces. It is insane and shows the illegitimacy of their insurgency. They are like a foreign force in their own state and therefore, they act like it is suppress the regions a bit more. This time by the pocket, as their stolen liberty and freedom has already been taken. Like all the provisions in the State of Emergency, which take away most of the ordinary freedoms. They have even suspended dozens of papers and televisions stations. For long time taken away the telephone and internet to silence the information from the regions. So it is not like the State has not done what it can to suppress, this is one more measure in a long line of offensive moves by the EPRDF. Peace.
