Dr. Kizza Besigye has been behind bars for 261 days, but the judge cannot count to 180…

The ones following the case of Dr. Kizza Besigye and associates should be aware of the contradictions that is going around. The state and the judiciary is totally captured. The judges aren’t capable of counting days and should be evaluated of their sound mind or independent minds as such. Since they are clearly not fit to judge others. A clerk and a shop-keeper are more capable to do simple math, apparently.

Yesterday the emailed judgement reached us and it was a disappointment, not that it was shocking or anything. However, how can a judge only count from 21st February 2025 when the subject in question has been behind bars since 20th November 2024. That just shows lack of moral clarity and sound judgement. Those sorts of technicalities just shows the true heart of everyone involved. As if the months between November and February doesn’t count, because Besigye and associates was under the jurisdiction of the General Court Martial. Clearly, that is what they are trying to do, but isn’t that a detention facility and a location that kept on remand too?

Surely, there need to be some sound reflection here. The total disgrace of the judiciary and the mockery or justice. This is just showing the sinister plot to move the goal-post and keep him behind bars indefinitely. There is no grace here or any sort of compassion. Only the main objective to keep him detained and use any excuse of the book. That’s why the judge cannot even count. Simple counting of days and erasing the past. This what happened yesterday with a blink of an eye.

Judge Emmanuel Baguma’s teachers and lectures should be distraught and be horrified, as they see a man failing on such basic terms. The misuse of office and the lacklustre attempt of justifying the continued detention of Besigye. That’s all there is to this. The judge could only count to 169 days and when he ticks 180. By that point the state has find another excuse and a reason to keep him detained.

We just know this game is rigged. The stories of Switzerland, UPDF guns and whatnot doesn’t matter. They are all arguments to keep Besigye behind bars. That’s all… Peace.

Tchad: Masra became the enemy of the state and now he will suffer for 20 years

The first criminal chamber of the N’Djamena Court of Appeal delivered its verdict on August 9, 2025. Accused of complicity in the Mandakaou conflict, Dr. Succès Masra, a prominent opposition political figure, was sentenced to 20 years of criminal imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of 1 billion FCFA” (Tchad Infos, 09.08.2025).

The news from N’Djamena is just grim. We know now the fate of the Opposition Leader and Party President of the Transformer Party, the former Prime Minister Succès Masra. His now sentenced to 20 years in prison and paying a hefty fine of 1 billion FCFA. That’s the verdict and the dark Saturday evening of the Republci of Tchad.

Succès Masra risked it all returning and signing an agreement with the junta in office. Gen. Kaka used him as a ploy and a stooge. Now his put the nail in his coffin and he has nowhere to hide. The Field Marshal has outmanoeuvred Masra and he will now suffer the consequences. He dared to challenge the military and the ones in power. That’s why his behind bars and an enemy of the state. They just waited to they could capture him and now they can torment him for the next coming years.

It don’t matter if the opposition leader did the things in good fate or not. His faith and belief in a transition was false. Gen. Kaka had no desire to risk losing power and influence. The ones surrounding him and the inner-circle wouldn’t risk losing it. They have held it all and had no intention of letting go.

That’s why Masra has to fall. That’s why the state has to assassinate and kill the ones in its way. That’s what it does… and it was naive of Masra to think he would be able to go free and be allowed to live in liberty.

His now a political prisoner and a prisoner of conscience. That won’t save him, but he will be a living reminder of what is wrong with the rulers and the regime of Tchad. His the sign of what is going wrong and what the ones in power is willing to do. That’s it… Peace.
