Palestine: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expartiates – Statement (12.03.2024)

“Where to stop? I do not know. I think that, taking into account what I said, we will still have to work a lot and seriously. Will it be Kyiv? Yes, probably, it should be Kyiv. If not now, then in some time. For two reasons. Kyiv is a Russian city, and from there comes the threat of the existence of the Russian Federation. It is an international threat, because even though Kyiv is a Russian city by its roots, it is controlled by an international brigade of Russia’s opponents headed by the United States of America. Odesa, come back home. We have longed for Odesa in the Russian Federation, even because of the history of this city, what people live there, what language they speak. This is our Russian city” – Dmitry Medvedev (21.02.2024).
The ones believing that there will be peace by giving up Donbass and Crimea to the Russian Federation. They should know that this is false. It will only be a temporary solution, as the Russian armies are stationed there and will linger as danger to the Republic of Ukraine. That’s just a fact and no one should shun that.
The ones believing that Kremlin and the Russian authorities will accept defeat or loss of Ukrainian territories are also mistaken. The Russians intend to annex the whole nation and call it “back” to the “motherland”. That’s what they are doing and issuing threats of. It isn’t anything new, but the ones believing that the Donetsk or other oblasts are enough. They are wrong and should listen up.
The Russians aren’t budging here, and Ukraine is only the beginning as this is imperialism and expansionism. This is solidifying the old Soviet heartland and taking back what was lost after the post-Soviet years. The former-Soviet Republics are in for the taking. Ukraine just happens to go first and be victim of proximity.
Kyiv and Ukraine should be aware of these sentiments. Medvedev isn’t alone with it and most likely has the support of the rest of regime in Moscow. Therefore, it is a fools hope that giving away the currently lost territories would be beneficial or create “peace”. It would only create a stalling of the inevitable and continuation of the war. As the Russian Federation would continue and find excuses to try to invade and conquer Ukraine again. They have already been working for that over a decade now and the last two years are a living proof of just that.
Another Budapest Memorandum or any sort of Minsk Agreement is pointless. When Kremlin and the Russians are thinking like this. Those papers and agreements are worthless, as the Russians are awaiting the moment of weakness and then striking hard again.
Any sort of ink or dialogue is of no value. When one party is aiming to dethrone and annex the other party. There is nothing to gain or win, not even temporarily, as the Russians only wants supremacy and ownership of the Ukrainian territories. That’s what Medvedev and other associates believe. Therefore, giving way to Russia is silently accepting defeat for Ukraine.
Kyiv and Ukraine need more support and help from the international community. As the war prolongs and the effects on the frontlines are costing. It is a burden and if the European partners don’t see it. The Russian will further escalate and later invade another country. Since Ukraine is only the beginning and they saw that it didn’t affect them that much. Peace.
