Sudan: Did Hemeti ditch Al-Burhan deliberately?

In the last few days the army commander and leader of the Rapid Support Force (RSF) Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Daglo aka Hemeti have been able to travel from Tchad to Uganda (27th December 2023) and Ethiopia (28th September 2023). This is happening as a scheduled meeting with advisory Gen. Al-Burhan of Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council got cancelled on “technical difficulties”.

That’s weird as the militia leader and paramilitary commander was able to swiftly get to Tchad to take a UAE sponsored plane to Entebbe. Meet and hold talks with Ugandan President Museveni. Before leaving Uganda for Bole International Airport (Ethiopia). Where the Foreign Minister Mekonnen meet him and later hold talks with Prime Minister Abiy.

So, within 48 hours he has had the ability to travel and get around on the continent. Nothing has blocked him or challenged him. While the authorities of Djibouti came out with a statement yesterday that the scheduled meeting for today on the 28th December 2023 was cancelled.

When you know that Hemeti could travel like this and do these diplomatic missions. He surely should have been or could easily have planned ahead and gone to Djibouti. However, there must be something underneath the surface and that isn’t in the public domain of yet.

These talks that was scheduled for today is now supposed to happen early in 2024. So, in January 2024 the talks between RSF and SAF are supposed to happen. The IGAD are delegated and being the multi-national body to oversee it. Therefore, it is of importance for the Horn of Africa and for Sudan to find a way out of the war between the parties. However, I wouldn’t count on it. There been several cease-fires and talks since April 2023. Nevertheless, nothing fruitful is yet to be achieved.

I begin to think that Hemeti rather seek allies and friends outside of the borders of Sudan. Just so he knows that he can count on them and hopefully have their back. Because, if his winning the war and getting ahead as it seems. He needs the region to legitimize his reign and time after conquering the Republic. That’s just a guess here and if not… his there to ensure more ways of arms and direct support of his war. As his now in the hands of the UAE and Tchad who is comforting him from a far.

That’s why these visits aren’t just pleasant surprises and showing his face internationally. As there been speculations to his demise and death. It shows that he means something and wants to be legit. However, his using vile force and his paramilitary group aren’t known for peaceful means, but brutal, lethal and destructive means, which are hurting, destroying and killing innocent lives as they take more territories. Therefore, there is little initial trust that he will serve for good or care for the lives of Sudan. The history of Janjaweed of Darfur says enough really and his current methods as RSF aren’t doing him any favours either. His just showing the brutality and the horrific tactics of his troops…

A scheduled talks like the ones today is ditched and stopped for a purpose. Hemeti did so to show power to Al-Burhan or in hopes of gaining favours elsewhere. As he hopes his war effort is gaining momentum. That’s why he can be like this and prolong the agony. Right now there is no genuine will for cease-fire or an end of the war. There is is too much at stake and the victor will take it all. That’s why they are gambling it all and hoping the other one just slumbers for one second. So, that they can get ahead and wipe the other one out. Peace.

Opinion: Yemen! Yemen! Yemen!

Okay, could you just stop talking for a second? Yemen. [Janice gasps] That’s right. Yes. I’m being transferred to Yemen” – Chandler Bing (Friends, S4E15, 1998).

A nation boiled in internal conflict and as a part of proxy wars. Where one part is supported by a US-Saudi coalition and another supported by Iran. This creates a prolonged war and never ending conflict, which results in further escalation. That’s because of the strategic importance of Yemen and the surrounding seas.

The Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, which are vital for the shipping industry, which is a pathway to Europe and up through the Suez Canal. All of that is endangered as conflict is prolonging on the Gaza Strip.

The Houthi coalition are arming soldiers and boats. They are using drones and pirating ships. Just to show the Western allies of Israel that they are on the side of Palestine. They are also supported by Iran that is fighting the same cause.

That’s why suddenly Yemen matters. A place that has been bombed and been in years of war. Where the ravaging conflict has persisted, but nothing has been resolved. However, the moment Yemen interfered in international waters and took side in the Israel-Palestine conflict. Then the bullets of Sanaa mattered.

The current conflict goes back to 2014 and is soon a decade old. Now the Houthi’s will use their power and means to make themselves relevant. As they can insert themselves in the genocidal war in Gaza. By doing so people will acknowledge their plight and maybe try to find a peaceful way to end the forever conflict in Yemen.

While until that happens, the Port of Mocha and the Bab al Mandab Strait will be a danger-zone and the ones passing through could become a target. Especially if the boats are flagging for the allies of Israel. These will be shot at, kidnapped or even totally destroyed. That’s a fact and that will hurt industries, the financial markets and imports to the West. As they are in dire need of the short transport route to Europe and America from the Far East.

This is a sign that even the smallest frictions can lead to massive undertakings. The Houthi response to the Israeli warfare in Gaza shows how little the global village really is. As this part in the civil war of Yemen now causes major effects on the global markets. They are able to hurt the Maritime Industries and the Shipping routes of the world. That’s being done deliberately and with a reason.

People have to be advised about Yemen. There is a lot to learn and understand. As the proxy war of US-Saudi Arabia and Iran are now making headlines. It should have done so before, as the millions of Yemeni people have been suffering for close to a decade. There been assassinations of Presidents and resignation of administrations. Since there is no one who are able to unify and unite the nation.

This warring conflict is now a remind of what toll war has and what warfare does. It isn’t just between two parties of Yemen. Now Yemen has a say and uses its guns for a purpose elsewhere. That should be recognized and be a reminder of how easily things can be touched. Peace.

Venezuela: When did Maduro get hungry for more oil?

Caracas is supposed to be a socialist haven and the Bolivarian Republic as such. The land of anti-imperialists and such. Now, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (USPZ) and President Nicolás Maduro are acting like their adversaries, which is ironic.

Maduro with the referendum of annexation of the Guyana Esequibo is taken 60% of the land-mass of the neighbouring nation of the Republic of Guyana. That’s all happening because of the findings of oil and mineral resources in the region. It would be beneficial for the Bolivarian Republic not only have enemies, but get resources from elsewhere.

The Venezuelan Republic is using claims of colonial borders, which is in counter to the arguments and the reasoning that the Guyana Republic have won the rights in International Courts. The nations has fought over the disputed region and that has become more contested just because the Guyana have found the valuable resources there. If the region was just jungle and pretty nature. The leadership of Caracas wouldn’t have done this, but there are more at stake here.

Maduro and his cronies are really willing to become like Iraq when it invaded Kuwait. Or like the United States invaded Iraq. That was all done for petroleum and petrodollars. Never knew that the socialists of Caracas had to take petrodollars from fellow socialists in Georgetown. However, here we are and Venezuela looks a bit foolish here.

The USPZ should know better, but this is the hill they are willing to die on. We know Guyana don’t have a large army. Neither do they have recruits or manpower to fight a conventional war. The war should be easy for Venezuela to win. They have another league of soldiers and supplies. Therefore, if the annexation should take place. It should be easy and a walkover for Venezuela. However, they would impose their reign and they would be seen as occupier of the region.

That’s maybe what Maduro wants to be. The dictator wants to remembered for stealing oil of others, because he just needed some more to salvage his economy. The socialists of Caracas couldn’t let Georgetown taste a little of the black gold. No, the black gold is only meant to be spent by the elites of Caracas and not elsewhere.

Seriously, even with the exploits and the agreements made by Exxon-Mobile in Guyana. That the Venezuela is coming in as vicious and vindictive neighbour is just outrageous. There is other nations that has to come to Guyana’s aide. The army of Guyana won’t have the bullets or the ability to fight Venezuela in a fair fight. That’s why there is a need for military support and fast.

If not… we will see Guyana losing 60% of its territories and all done so Maduro can have additional oil, which is political correct of him. Peace.

Opinion: Mzee’s lack of self-awareness is astonishing

A country like Uganda wasted a lot of time-fighting and so on, when we settled down, we started producing and very soon we realised that the internal market was not enough for milk, maize, sugar, among other products. The second reason is strategic security. How can you be secure in the world? The third reason is undugu, we are even lucky that we have Swahili as the East African language, we can all speak Swahili. Therefore, it is easy for us to unite. This is why some of us under the leadership of Mwalimu Nyerere, for the last more than 60 years have been struggling for East African integration” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (24.11.2023).

After all these years and with the new Member Nations in the East African Community (EAC), Somalia. There should be jubilation and celebration, as it wasn’t a long ago that the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) became a member and before that was South Sudan. The EAC has grown, but it got growing pains.

President Museveni should know all of this, because he has seen it all happening in front of his own eyes. What is striking to me… as a man speaking of markets and market integration. A lot of his own works and direct policies has been deterrent of this. Alas, they have been counterproductive.

The President and his party has been so hostile that it has caused trade-wars over chickens. Had spats over a tiny island in the Lake Victoria. It has had issues with importation of fuel and gas. If not it has caused a stir by choosing which port to have the petroleum pipeline from the Albertine Graben and to the Sea. Not forget the prolonged blockade and blocking of entry between Rwanda and Uganda. Therefore, he has seen the “brotherhood” and what it is worth.

The EAC needs guidelines and codes of conduct. The Sovereigns are still in the realm of deciding all on their own terms. There isn’t a policy or statute made by the EAC, which makes the East African Community a Common Trading Market like the Member States of the European Union. If the EAC had done something similar. Then the Ugandan President could speak very smoothly about the brotherhood. As that would open up the markets and ease the logistics between the nations. However, that isn’t the case as of today.

The EAC have created a Monetary Union in 2013, but to see that being beneficial for trading or movement of goods. That is another issue that the Heads of State hasn’t resolved or come with a resolution to fix it. This is why it is a bit odd to read parts of Museveni’s speech today.

Museveni wants to be seen as a statesman and of the old school. That his the wise man who has lived through the ages. Regardless of that, when he has such vast amount of experience. He should be the guy to come with wisdom and ways to get things moving along. However, that never seems to happen, because he knows he cannot order people around like headless chickens outside his domain. Therefore, he gets nowhere and have to sound more profound outside his turf.

President Museveni speaks easily of uniting, but I have just seen otherwise over the years. I am just awaiting another trade-war and spat between Government of Uganda, and one of their neighbours. That just happens and usually over petty things or allegations. This is why the recent outburst of fuel cartels and whatnot in Kenya is just souring the grapes between the nations. Instead of trying to find mechanisms to resolve it. The President just ordered to cease importation and get it through Tanzania instead. This shows how the EAC isn’t totally working and it is simple choices that is the final factor in decisions.

If the markets was truly integrated into a common market, which was open for everyone and with secure mechanisms and tribunals for grievances. The trading in the EAC would be totally different. Right now that’s not happening, because the Sovereigns wants a say and want to keep their integrity intact. Therefore, the brotherhood is in words, but not in actions. Peace.

South Africa: Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) – EFF Welcomes the Resolution by the Parliament of South Africa to Close the Israeli Embassy (21.11.2023)

Opinion: Mzee’s bizarre take on the re-insurgency of M23 and the ADF…

It is true that the pigs of ADF in Congo had sent a few infiltrators to try to disrupt the function of the suspected sinners. Indeed, I hear that the panicking Americans and British sent out what they call advisories to their citizens not to come to Uganda. These are mistake makers. If the situation was so bad, it would be us to advise people not to come to Uganda, not the British and the Americans. We know what we are doing, always. Even if a mistake occurs, we know how to handle it. These advisories by some of these actors are another form of interference in our internal affairs by these elements” – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (15.11.2023).

When you have been in power since January 1986, you would think the man was a bit more diplomatic and humble, but no. The man of the hour and in the time of need. President Museveni comes storming in like a bull in a china-shop and just wrecks it all. That’s what he does and he thinks people forgets. It is what his hoping for and that we don’t remember.

President Museveni and his allies has been interfering in the Kivu Provinces and the Ituri Provinces for years. There been usage of proxy-militias and other activities to benefit exports of conflict minerals, as gold and timber. Therefore, to read these words from the President. Well, he must think we have forgotten. As much as he was involved in getting rid of Mobutu and Laurent Kabila. We know and he knows. That’s why he should consider his stances on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) with care. Because, we know he has supplied arms, ammunition and caused conflict there, which he has to pay reparations for even. That’s compelling and he wants to pin the blame on others.

Just take a look!

Moreover, part of the terrorism in Africa is either created or conserved by some of the actors that try to be global policemen. The chaos in Libya and the surrounding countries of the Sahel (Mali, Burkina-Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Chad, etc.) was caused by some of these actors. The terrorism conservation project in Eastern Congo, for the past 20 years, is by the UN, which is controlled by some of these actors through the undemocratic structures of that body, such as the Security Council. It is amazing how the UN can supervise and co-exist with killers of Congolese and Ugandans in Eastern Congo for the last 20 years, and they are not bothered at all. They have created free space for all sorts of empty-headed pigs to gather, train, steal resources of Congo, kill Congolese and, once in a while, kill Ugandans, as well as undermining the economic future of the people of the Great Lakes” (Museveni, 15.11.2023).

Yes, the United Nations (UN) and the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has its fault and blame. They should carry their weight and their lack of actions, but that mandate has been voted for and accepted by a totality of the UN. The Blue Helmets are only as strong as the mandate and the will of the nations contributing to it. Meaning the Blue Helmets aren’t there in spirit of the nation, but out of the peacekeeping mission given to them. That is something the President should know and he expected much more of them, which is foolish at best.

The President should instead ask himself, why has he intervened? Why has he used military base(s) as training grounds and as logistical hubs for warfare within the DRC? That’s why I wonder about and he has done so for decades too now. He didn’t start yesterday and he has proxy-militias on his side. That has been fighting his battles and for his interests within the DRC. Therefore, reading this statement of his is a bit infuriating, actually. Because, he acts like his the Prince of Peace, but his just a fellow warlord lecturing the world… and he has supplied the bullets for years.

He continues…

It is unbelievable to discover that somebody known as Abu wa Kasi or something like that, an Arab from Tanzania, is the one who sent another pig known as Kamasu, a Congolese and the captured Njovu, to kill the children of Lhubiriha, the tourists, etc. How can such criminality go on in Africa? Is this what our elders- Nyerere, Nkrumah, Mandela, Musaazi, Lumumba, etc. fought for? Fortunately, present-day Uganda has the capacity to make a decisive contribution in, at least, the parts of Africa near us. We shall win. I call these parasite killers of ADF “pigs” because it is written in the Bible just like that. The book of Mathew 7:6 says: “Don’t give to dogs what is holy and don’t throw your pearls to the pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, then turn and attack you”. These parasites who do not want to work for a living and prefer to use the ungoverned parts of Africa to steal, rape, etc., will pay with their wretched lives” (Museveni, 15.11.2023).

This is directed at the ones who killed in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The ones that is alleged to be the ADF. I say alleged, because whenever or whoever is a threat, they tend to become the “ADF” in the Republic. They are the ones and the natural scapegoat, even when the President has said he has crushed them plenty of time and said he banished them to God forsaken place within the DRC. Therefore, it is just splendid the way he describes them today. His rhetoric is just poetic in how speaks ill of ADF and how he has normalized this language. From a supposed statesman and “father figure” at that.

President Museveni before you pin blame on others for what is happening in the Great Lakes and the DRC. Maybe consider your own involvement and history there. Because, the ones who have followed and not fallen asleep in class. Has heard about your adventures, the UN Experts Reports and others, which implicates you in shady activity. If it isn’t the President, then there is someone lurking in the inner-circles or of high rank in the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF). That’s how these goes and he knows that too. Peace.

Opinion: Abiy is trying to find any viable excuse to “take” coastal territories…

I think they were absent when we built a Navy or did not have YouTubes; when we built a Navy, it’s clear that there is no other agenda, we meant we need a sea; the agenda is clear” – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali (14.11.2023).

For ages now and with the recent flair in the last few months, the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has showed what is his ambition. Not that it has been done cleverly or with finesse. No, it is so blatant and we can just expect another war. It isn’t like this man has created a prolonged peace or sustainable one anywhere. The only thing that haunts him is his naked ambition and his drive to consolidate power.

That’s why the recent lectures or sessions in the House of Federation have revealed a “will” and a “purpose” to get port(s) and coastal territories, especially the ones around the Red Sea. When that being said, it is challenging Eritrea and their rights to Massawa and Assab by doing so. It is the only thing we can take from this and he can try to spin the narrative, but the truth is already out of the bag.

He can say these words and act like his in it for a “confederation” of the Horn of Africa, but he cannot contain or be able to run the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE). So, why would anyone bother or accept to be swallowed or be a minority state in a conferation, which will give more power to the centre and the biggest party. That is Ethiopia and they will not budge. This isn’t about mistrust or lack of good faith, but by proven history between the neighbours.

Just read these words…

We will not invade any other country, all we are saying is that let’s negotiate before a famine comes to engulf our large population. In such a time, the existing laws work and we will not abide by them. If we cannot get food to our people because we don’t have ports, we will become vulnerable to hunger and famine, no one will stop us, we will be forced to eat whatever we can find by any means, it is human nature. We should find a solution, the world’s governments have to help 120 million before they get to that desperation, this can be corrected” (…) “It is our desire that East African countries do away with the artificial borders, have a joint diplomacy & army while even still maintaining individual flags. Somalia, Djibouti, Ethiopia & Eritrea’s army can be stationed on the Red Sea & Indian Ocean while the police keep the interior. We must grow together to prosper, it can be done that is all we are asking” (Abiy, 14.11.2023).

He must think we cannot see if for what it is. This is trying to find a solution and a reason to invade. I am hearing the war-drums and the bullets being transported to the borders of Ethiopia. If you thought the wars regarding Badme was horrific. Well, this one will be much worse and will be because one man wanted to be remembered for building a “Grand Ethiopia”. Abiy wants an empire and he cannot have that without the sea. He needs the air, land and sea. That’s what he needs… just like some searching for earth, wind and fire.

Prime Minister Abiy wants to use the starving, the internally displaced and all the ones suffering from internal conflicts as a shield for an invasion. That’s what he is doing and he has weaponized starvation before, heck he has proclaimed “war” on “wheat aid” in the past. It is just the sort of man he is and that is the mechanism that defeats “famine” if he fears it that much. The ones coming to Ethiopia’s aide is already using the ports and know the logistics to get to the ones in need. Therefore, the assumption of ownership over them isn’t making a difference, except he becomes “great” or “imperial” if his doing so.

This is just tragic man, plenty will spin this a “setback” and as “re-set” speech. While the truth is… his still pending the time and buying the time. As he needs popular opinion behind him and the Republic accepting the “need”. That’s what he needs, because the drive and idea needs to whispered across the Republic. The PM has a solution and that’s to invade and conquer the ports. After that the “golden era” begins and he shall be crowned “king”.

That’s who Abiy is and the youth will die in thousands for his glory. Just like they already have across the nation. For years there been internal conflicts and now he will bring it to the Red Sea. That’s what Abiy does and don’t say people didn’t warn you. Because, the signs was there and now the circles of stones thrown in the water is making waves. Peace.
