Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe: Resolutions of the Monetary Policy Commitee Meeting held on 24 June 2022 (27.06.2022)

“According to the presidential press unit, President Salva Kiir discussed plans to strengthen the business relations between South Sudan and the Kingdom of Bahrain. “The delegation expressed interest to reduce Country’s outstanding debt by consolidating and paying down loans with energy resources, while strengthening energy stability with additional focus on planning initiatives to improve public health, and other areas of mutual importance to South Sudan,” reads the statement” (Alhadi Awari – ‘Bahrain tycoons reportedly willing to clear South Sudan debts’ 17.06.2022, Eye Radio).
There are simple facts to why President Salva Kiir Mayardit was so happy after the visit of the delegation of Bahrain businessmen. The debt and lack of services was already in the year stifled by World Bank and International Monetary Funds (IMF). That’s because the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity (R-TGoNU) hadn’t complied and implemented the financial principals of the R-ARCSS.
It was only in May 2022 that the IMF and WB blocked the access to more loans to the Government of South Sudan. That’s because of it’s financial dealings and lack of transparency. Which in consideration to the lack of implementation of the R-ARCSS too. Therefore, those deals and oil-futures that was already sold secretive and wheeler-deal operations aren’t securing the stability of the Republic.
However, the government has now found a new source of funds, instead of the WB and IMF. The Bahrain businessmen and companies are coming in instead. They are coming with strings and the future oil earnings is traded off yet again. However, to another company to shield of the old debts. They are getting capital to pay off debts, by selling the oil production to Bahrain. This is the gist of things and that will most likely further the option for a healthy profits of the state. Since, they are selling of the future and trading the petroleum before the on-set of tomorrow is to begin with.
Just read the previous deals… this Bahrain will be no different…
Here is quotes from the UN Experts Report of April 2022:
“The Panel also identified efforts by the Office of the President to accrue additional oil-backed debt to finance contracts awarded to favoured businessmen” (UN Experts Report – ‘S/2022/359’ April 2022).
“The Panel confirmed that Amuk for Trading and Investment was ultimately controlled by Kur Ajing Ater, a prominent South Sudanese businessman. In a previous report (S/2019/301), the Panel described how another company controlled by Kur Ajing Ater, Lou for Trading and Investment, had been awarded similarly outsized procurement contracts by the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces, including for food “(…) “87. The Office of the President played a prominent role in the agreement, including the President himself, his National Security Adviser and other senior staff, several of whom had been present at the signing of the deal in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In confidential meeting minutes from a review of the 2018 contracts with Kur Ajing Ater, a senior South Sudan People’s Defence Forces official complained that “there are irregularities in this contract”, but that “the decision was from higher authorities so we can do nothing about it”” (UN Experts Report – ‘S/2022/359’ April 2022).
President Kiir and the Office of the President has practically sold the oil-futures twice. Where favourable businessmen will profit of it. The state resources will be bound by these deals and it will be only a few men who gets the skim the profits. The rest is up to businesses to be able to find markets for the oil, which in this day and age shouldn’t be to hard. The needs for oil is vast and the markets needs it. So, the state has certainly traded away the future. First it did so by generating the debt by selling the future oil earnings and now selling new oil to another company to pay for the old debt. That’s how to deplete and destroy the earnings… it is just heartbreaking, because this could be the funds and the domestic revenue to build institutions. Instead its used as a tool to enrich certain highly connected persons in Juba and around the President.
That’s why we are seeing President Kiir smiling. He has gotten a new source of income and domestic revenue. The President is able to circumvent the World Bank and International Monetary Funds. In such a manner, that his not in a haste to implement the principals of the R-ARCSS in concern to finances or oversight of the economy. Because, the Bahrain company won’t care about that. As long, as that gets the oil for the cash it pours out. In that way… he is off the hook and don’t have to pay the IMF or WB any mind.
This is what people should see. He has gotten the ability to pay off the oil futures twice. Don’t have to care about the mechanisms or the pressure from the Bretton Woods institutions. Neither does he have to open up the books, but only do inside-trading with foreign investors who covers the debt and takes export petroleum to cover it all. That’s it and it’s easy money. Very easy money… and it’s cheap too.
That’s why Kiir is grinning and smiling. He won and he didn’t even have sweat. Peace.

In Pretoria and within South Africa there is certainly a walking dead President. This being President Cyril Ramaphosa. He took over from Jacob Zuma has he had to fall when the State Capture Case got to hot and he gotten get away from web-of-scandals he created in the years in office. Now, the current African Nation Congress (ANC) and President Ramaphosa is getting the same treatment.
The FarmGate or PhalaPhalaGate is the possible end of the Presidency. The pressure on Ramaphosa will get massive. Especially, when the Namibian authorities investigates the “stolen” money and whatnot. As well, as the revelation on how it implicates high ranking officials across the board. That’s just another State Capture but done by Ramaphosa instead of Zuma. The same greed and beast is now haunting him.
It doesn’t help Ramaphosa that the Namibian news are leaking and revealing things. Just as former spy Arthur Fraser has handed over voice recordings, videos, photos and emails to the Hawks proving Ramaphosa’s involvement in corruption, fraud and kidnapping. That’s all happening now and he has nowhere to hide.
That the Parliament is following up on the petition from African Transformation Movement (ATM), which means that there will be established a committee to enquire and investigate if President Ramaphosa violated the constitution. The President has already to address the suspension of the Public Protector, as the PP started to investigate the President.
So, as Ramaphosa was able to dodge the ramifications of the questionable allegations of the CR17 Report. He will not have much wiggle room here now. As everyone is gunning for him. It isn’t only the opposition of United Democratic Movement (UDM), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) or the Democratic Alliance (DA).
Now, that the authorities are getting the information and evidence, as well as cooperative actors who followed the case. Certainly, it is much harder to silence or stop the tracks of the investigation. Ramaphosa was able to silence and stop CR17 Report. However, this scandal and the ramifications of this one… will linger on and it’s already haunting him.
Because, this isn’t just a small inner-circle with questionable campaign funds. No, this is much bigger. He thought he could get away, but this time… he cannot silence every voice and be able to block it. Especially, because of how he suspended the Public Protector. That is just the nail in the coffin.
The move of doing that… just shows that Ramaphosa is hiding something. Now, there will not only be the drip-drop of information to the press. There will be investigations within the Hawks and also others who are involved in it. The Namibian Police is doing their part as well. So, there is no space or ability to leave anything untouched.
In combination, that the President has been directly involved in the day-to-day business of the farm. That’s why his behind the sale of Ankole Cows and the profits of that selling the cattle. This is a proof of how his “businesses” is not run by a blind trust and the Head of State has a say in it.
Now, the money, the fraud, the corruption and even the kidnapping is putting the President in a bad light. Which implicated in several counts of crimes. In such a fashion, which we haven’t seen since the State Capture. Instead of learning from that. The current President is caught in the same web and the power corrupts. The ability and offers are to sweet and he couldn’t avoid the “cheap” money. However, now… it is coming to hunt him.
The beast of greed is a vicious one. It can take down anyone and now his in the firing line. I’m not sorry for him. Before the Presidency he saw what happened to the corrupt people in the Mbeki administration, the Zuma years and now his dwindling, because of his own actions.
Ramaphosa isn’t a victim, but a man who has to answer for himself. That’s the truth here and this story will continue to evolve, as the time goes on and the public knows more about what happened. Peace.

“The Tanzanian government is intending to resume the eviction of about 70,000 Maasai community in Loliondo to make room for trophy hunting and elite tourism. The move, which will involve dispossessing over 70,000 Maasai pastoralists of 1500sq km of their ancestral land. This is aimed at creating room for Ortello Business Company, a hunting firm owned by the United Arab Emirates’ royal family, as part of investment for the government” (Western Nyota TV, 13.06.2022).
The Chama Cha Mapundzi (CCM) don’t care and isn’t concerned with the rule of law. As the commercial interests of the tourism industry and a foreign investors involvement matters more. That’s why Maasai territories are now possibly evicted for the sole purpose of an investor making a game-drive. So, that the animals can be seen by foreigners visiting and ensuring profits to the state coffers.
That’s done without the consent of the Masaai people or their ancestral rights to territories in question. This is why they have been demonstrating, because the state is violently and brutally evicting them from their homeland. Just so one investor can have a safari company and game-drive in the area. That’s really not developing, but ceasing territory for man’s pleasure and his company.
“According to reliable information received by IWGIA, the Tanzanian state is currently moving ahead to grab 1,500 km2 of ancestral and legally registered village land belonging to the Maasai Indigenous people in the Loliondo division of Ngorongoro District in northern Tanzania. This land grab will forcefully evict the Maasai from their land. This is happening despite the fact that the East African Court of Justice is expected to issue a ruling on this matter on 22 June 2022. On 7 June 2022, a paramilitary group of around 700 people (mainly police, park rangers, military and other security forces) arrived in Loliondo to demarcate the 1,500 km2 area of land as a Game Reserve1. This land is the ancestral land of the Maasai people who have formalized land tenure rights to this land as per the Village Land Act No.5 of 1999. The demarcation of this land as a Game Reserve will effectively dispossess the Maasai people of their ancestral land since people and livestock will not be allowed to live in a Game Reserve” (International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs (IWGIA) – ‘Urgent Alert: New serious threats towards the Maasai people of Loliondo in Tanzania’ 13.06.2022).
“Over 100,000 Maasai are facing a forcefully eviction from their ancestral land in Loliondo and Ngorongoro, Tanzania Maasai have been living in Lolondo and Ngorongoro before Tanzania gained independence. The eviction is purely to making way for Trophy Hunting” (Tanzania Leaks, 13.06.2022).
This here shouldn’t be accepted and people should speak out on the matter. It isn’t righteous and fair. Clearly it is injustice, pure and simple. Tanzanian authorities and state is doing practically a land-grab and with violent means to get their way. This eviction isn’t done with measures of fairness or compensation. No, these are people who is violently removed and evicted from their territories, which have been theirs for generations.
That the Tanzanian authorities are doing this and using all sorts of violent ways. Just shows the world how unjust this is. The CCM and the President knows this as they are just serving a Middle Eastern company “prime-real-estate” for safari and a game-drive. That’s why they are doing this and showing the lack of care or concern for the people who belongs in this territory.
If CCM and the President wanted a favourable look. This wasn’t it. They are just displaying brutality and what they do for some cheap coins. Peace.
