Mzee is either in the darkness of the forest or walking in the banana-plantation; he surely have no plans to leave; that is the true #SteadyProgress

m7-1970

It’s hard for me to write this in all seriousness. Since I writing about an African President whom himself said this in 1986: “The problem of Africa in general and Uganda in particular is not the people but leaders who want to overstay in power” (Ross, 2011).  The President in particular is His Exellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the President of Uganda for 29 years and counting!

Mzee said this in 1980 while running as a presidential candidate:

“Using a government position to a mass wealth is high treason. If the UPM is not going to be supported because it denounces such methods of getting rich, let it be”.

This he said while campaigning in Bushenyi and Mbarara districts(Weekly Topic, August 27. 1980).

So Mzee have  had a few points back in the day and knew this was an issues. Now he deflects  them to the extreme, to a point where it nearly get’s boring. Still here is his recents comments on the matter of riches and staying in power.

This was what Mzee said in November 2015:

““I have my own job at home of keeping cattle. Why would I stay when I have been defeated in the elections? I am not power hungry but I have missions to accomplish. I can’t leave without finishing with them” (Kazibwe, 2015).

Well, he has promised to step-down before, doubt he means this for long or even if this utter words was sincere other than for a show. This was for show from Mzee because of the coming Papal visit in Uganda (all seriousness the visit happen around 2 weeks after this interview). Well, let me continue on what he has said over the new-years and his ordinary modus operandi. When the pope has left the country and he could do what he normally do!

e8807-votemuseveni

Mzee saisd this on 5th January 2016:

“I have been hearing people accusing me of sticking around; that I don’t want to leave government. Why would I want to stay in government?” (…)”First of all I am a very rich man. I have a lot of wealth and therefore it cannot be riches that I am seeking in government” (Waswa, 2016).

Well, you have in been in power since 1986. That is sticking around for a while in government and as executive power for nearly three decades. We know you are rich you have a giant farm in Ankole, you and your families own a dozen businesses, some hotels and even some transport businesses as well. You started earning big bucks on transport under the DRC war in the 90s, but that is a nearly forgotten chapter for you and your brother Salim Selah, right? Still you’re in government because you fear what will happen if you leave it. Especially when there is oil-money soon coming into the accounts of Uganda and you want that slice to. The minerals and wood from Kisangani will be small-fry a bogoya. Well, we know about that and as your businesses and family businesses can be lost if you leave government. Therefore you want to secure those, it is a valid argument to stick around in government for wealth as man men make their wealth that way, one of the reason why you went to the bush to eradicate corruption and embezzlement. Well, that chapter is also forgotten and loyal cronies is more and more important therefore we have NRM-Independent and NRM Flag-Bearers in the coming elections, this is new and the NRM-Independents are breach of inner-party law. We know it is okay as long as Mzee, says it’s okay; he even pays the fees for the NRM-Independents to the Electoral Commission. This is to gain their loyalty as well as the ones the members picked in the district and sub-county. That is beautiful right? So, that is the reason why people wonder why you stick around and what can you do now that you haven’t already done? Still, let’s continue to the 10th January 2016.

MuseveniQuote

Mzee said this on 10th January 2016:

“cannot leave power now because all he planted has started bearing fruits” (…)”Those who say, let him go, let him go, they need to know that this is not the right time. This old man who has saved the country, how do you want him to go? How can I go out of a banana plantation I have planted that has started bearing fruits?” (…)”We can’t be in the middle of a forest and want the old man to go. This is not right. We must concentrate on development, my time will come and I will go. I don’t fear going because I have where to go, but we must first see where we go” (…)”We can’t be in the middle of a forest and want the old man to go. This is not right. We must concentrate on development, my time will come and I will go. I don’t fear going because I have where to go, but we must first see where we go” (Rumanzi, 2016).

Now he is proclaiming that he has made a country into a banana-plantation, where it is finally bearing fruits. That means sweat bananas with good yields. That must be from the mustards seed he planted in 1986. Wait, this isn’t a mustard farm, but still the metaphor can be extended to the Banana farm. Yes, he has made the country into a Banana farm or should I say a banana republic. Now that all of that was daft, but the point is clear.

The economic state is getting dire in Uganda, the loans rate on the government budget is going up while the aid and donor funds goes down. While the oil-price lowers before the oil-monies are getting in. The sale of coffee is growing but it has not the yielded price on it neither is the sale of the tea. Like they are not producing enough sugar for consumption and have to import from Kenya.

Bank notes Uganda

IMF in July 2015 wrote in their report this: “Short-term benefits of the oil price decline have been less pronounced in Uganda than in other countries in the region. In the past nine months, petrol average pump prices have declined by 10 percent in domestic currency”.

He surely isn’t done by seeing all the campaign teams struggling with the villages roads his been building since 1986. Since FDC Campaign Convoy have been stuck in Rwenzori and in certain northern districts, while Mzee himself needed a military vehicle to be able to get to campaign rallies in Abletong. Well, the Banana-plantations don’t need a good road as long as the banana gets to market?

500px-Uganda_Regions_map

Or is it the growing amounts of districts, sub-counties and municipalities? Is that your proud work to make sure that that every corner of the country have a local council to control 1000 people and have loyal payment from you?  That seems like the final goal while going through your banana-plantation. In 1967 there was only 18 districts, by 1989 where already 34 districts and 150 counties. By my reckoning in late 2015 there are 111 districts and 167 counties. So the numbers has grown staggering amount of districts and steady rise of counties. Was this the big plan in 1986 make sure that there 3 times over district then when you came to power?

You might feel that you’re in the forest and not really in the mellow place of the banana-plantation since the situation economically, infrastructure, youth-employment, industrial-development, police-violence and so on. There are much darkness in the forest and not any sweat yields of the banana-plantation. The development that you have left is surely questionable; secondly the legacy you’re leaving behind is not the ones you wish you had. You could have been a man who led to real progress and stand for something new.  Instead you’re the same old tribe of African leaders who overstays in power and does let other people rule.

The economic state, together with the lower prices on coffee and oil should be worrying. Together with edged prices on imports as Uganda imports are higher than their exports. The weaker currency and higher inflation makes the trading barrier even higher. There are so many signs that the general election together with the laws that parliament passes gives more and more power to the Executive and his regime. Ever since Public Order Management Act there been more and more laws who gives the government more stronghold over the public instead of giving them freedoms and opportunity to evolve and think on their own. The laws that gives the government carte blanche to borrow money through the new Public Finance Management Act; one section of this law says this: “Amendment of Section 36: (5a) In addition to subsection (5), a loan raised by the Government as a temporary advance by the Bank of Uganda, which does not extend beyond a financial year shall not require to be approved by the Parliament” (P5, 2015, PFMA). That says how the government can initially use the Bank of Uganda as an ATM, was that the problem you had in the forest or the fruits your having yield on the banana-plantation?

NAADS Piggery Enterprise Ibanda

I know that you have no plan of stopping being in power, I am just wondering when you actual thought of leaving since you have been there as long as have lived. Something not many Presidents have done except your friend in Zimbabwe, and maybe aquatints like Paul Biya in Cameroon, and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatoral Guinea. But hey, they are from francafrique countries so I only expect you smile at them when you arrive at African Union meetings in Addis Ababa. Since they know and you know that all the fellows who meet with decades ago are no longer there.

We know that what you said before new years are utter rubbish since you have promised before to step down and haven’t. That has happened before 2001 and before 2006. Even before you got the multi-party system back into place; Gen. Benon Biraaro said this early part of his campaign in 2015: “When we captured power in 1986, Mr Museveni promised to rule for only five years and after he will go and look after his cows, I never knew his cows would be Ugandans”.

Old Taxi Park

Surely, if his still is in the forest or in the banana-plantation or even with his cows in Ankole, it is for certain he is still the executive power and will do what he can to keep that in 18th February 2016 or make sure the counting is fixed to measure the right way. Mzee will make sure that the counting of the ballots from the Electoral Commission declares him the President, AGAIN! If not he has prepared the police with a bucket full billions of shillings for post-election violence. So he must have looked in the darkness of the forest and worried for the outcome. In the sense that he smells the people are not his anymore. They do not follow him blindly and let him guide them freely. The banana-plantation is not as peaceful as it once was; This means that Mzee is not directly entitled anymore, to get the fruits of the plantation without any questions, from the people who are working on it. Peace.

The Army raids the FDC district-office in Kiruhura District on the 6th January 2016

Kiruhura District Logo

On 6th Jan. 2016 our FDC offices in Kiruhura district were broken into by the military, the deadly illegal operation was led by an Army officer known as Major Rutakara (mrs) of Kyakabunga village, Nyakasharara sub-county, FDC materials such as Besigye Posters, T shirts, and P10 cards were confiscated!

Major Rutaraka warned that she doesnot want FDC offices in her district.

The major then declared: Kiruhura an opposition free zone and she added FDC offices are unwanted in her district”.

The LC3 Forum for Democratic Change Chairman of Nyakasharara subcounty, The matter was reported to Kaguta Road PolicePpost on 7th jan. 2016!

Case no. SD05/06/01/2016
Offence : criminal Tresspass and threatening violence.

Uganda Radio

Another issue in the area are their song choices and NRM message:

The radioes in the area only plays “Yoweri Kaguta Museveni songs” and “Mzee’s messages” like Kiruhura FM, Radio 5, Voice of Kawenge and Radio West.

Postive FDC News from the Kiruhura district:

“For the first time, FDC has fielded District Woman MP candidate in Kiruhura District. We are winning by defiance with: Irene Ayebazibwe”.

Mzee doesn’t feel the Calvary can protect the election anymore; therefore he changes guards and get the Army to flex for him

IGP Kayihura Gen Katumaba M7

There been news that Mzee have ordered the Uganda People’s Defence Force to be in-charge of the security during the rest of the election-time, because in the previous elections the people or citizens of Uganda have been sleeping. They we’re sleeping so well and misunderstood by Mzee. He must have forget the reactions to the recent General Election in 2011 that ended in public display and post-election violence; at the strange past, where the now Presidential Candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye and other politicians started the demonstrations with the group of Activist4change and “Walk to Work”.

Mzee have a little amnesia and even have forgotten that have got so much money to spend on post-election violence. But why postpone the violence when you can intimidate the public in 40 days before the Election Day and polls. That sounds so much sweeter, right? Why wait to be hit and the international media on your agenda when you can do it more in silence now.

Mzee have the plan since he is seeing the Go-Forwand/TDA and FDC Presidential Candidate during better than expected. While Mzee and his party is like ferrying more people than the ordinary safari company in the country and especially countryside where he have lost support. So the easy way is to rent buses and get people from other districts to look like you still have the power and suction in the country.

Mzee have issues, strong issues with opposition; that’s why when he looks back in time. He remember with joy the times between 1986 to 2005; when there wasn’t anything else than his own built Movement Political System. That went away with the 2005 referendum. That has opened the gates for other people then Mzee to actually rule! While Mzee did apparently around the same time he did take away the Presidential Term Limits, that why still Mzee have executive powers and campaigning for yet another term.

Mzee have seen the rise of people lately and that people aren’t eating of his hand and enjoying his speeches as they once did. While the Uganda Police Force and IGP Gen Kale Kayihura doesn’t make the people fear Mzee and his folks enough. Not even Mzee’s Wife’s grin and speeches can’t beat the lions into shape, the people are to touchy with the Leopard’s anus. So he has to switch up.

Leopard

Mzee has already switched up in the UPDF and gotten his loyal friend Chief of Defence Forces Gen Katumba Wamala. Since IGP Kayihura haven’t played this well enough and his spokesman CP Fred Enanga looks foolish. That makes Mzee looks like dumb-dumb and he can’t have that. To look dumb isn’t respected and Mzee need all respect and honor to man.

Mzee can’t have this and the way Hon. Amama Mbabazi of the Go-Forward his new arch-nemesis and former arch-nemesis Dr. Kizza Besigye of the FDC is making is life and election campaigning so hard. The Police can’t even beat them enough or the block their campaign rallies. They are not creating enough havoc so that the people lose hope in them. The police aren’t even jailed enough FDC people or Go-Forward to secure Ugandans from them. Because Ugandans are NRM; Mzee is that right or have I misunderstood you? No wait, Ugandans are the ones that will work for you and under your executive power.

cadets10 UPDF

Later today he released this through State House of Uganda:

“President Museveni has assured Ugandans that no one can disrupt Uganda’s hard earned peace and security. President Museveni said: “The Army and other security agencies are strong enough to handle anybody who attempts to interrupt the peace that is prevailing in the country.”

The Security Agencies went into collaboration before the election as they made 40 Units consistence of Uganda Prisons, Internal Security Organization, External Security Organization, Uganda Police Force (UPF) and Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF). This was in the middle of 11th November 2015. So this measure seems now in beginning of January 2016 to not be enough, together with the Electoral Commission’s not use of UPF as much as they have done to now during this stressful time.

Gen Katumba Wamala

Now that the letter between President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the executive power of Uganda have ordered the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Katumba Wamala to deploy troops around the country to secure the election. So that he will take over for IGP Gen Kale Kayihura is following the Presidential Candidates and other ones trying to get voted in for the general elections in February this year. Just 40 days before the Presidential polls happens. It must be a tactic of fear. The power of anti-riot police following Go-Forward Presidential Candidate Convoy isn’t enough. The stressful movements of the police towards the Forum for Democratic Change Presidential Candidate Convoy that have done what it could even violence when it has to. For Mzee that is not enough and safe enough; Bukwo District against the FDC and Northern districts policing of Go-Forward. That has not been cutting it. The defiance and struggle of the opposition is not enough.

Mzee need bigger guns to control these vile political parties that he didn’t really wanted. That is why he had elections for it twice. Not only in 28th July 2005 where the “Yes” for Multi-party system against the Movement System where 92, 44% versus 7, 56%. They had a previous try out before the election in 2001. That was in 29th June 2000 when 90, 71% voted for the Movement System versus the Multi-Party System who got 9, 2%. So Mzee got one less election with more parties then NRM, I am sure he wished the result in 2005 could be reversed since there is so much work with elections after releasing UPC, DP, PPP, PDP, TIC, TDA, FDC etc etc. To keep the NRM people secure because the true Ugandans are NRM.

NRM 13.11.15 Kole South

Mzee and have enjoyed in silence the words of his chairman. The man he employed in the Electoral Commission who said that he would call on the military if needed to keep the elections peaceful. You have ensured that he doesn’t have to do that. Mzee have done it today!

Mzee, this is ironic, it’s your people who are violent, most likely the Police and Crime Preventers are the ones who usually are behind the issues. The NRM Primaries we’re the King-Kong Cadres who came with security agents and took the paperwork and results to clear it before delivered to the NRM Electoral Commission for review. The same is happening here, the NRM is initiating together with the Police or the Police alone after orders from the Electoral Commission. So the opposition convoys are in the field not knowing what kind of police are there or what kind of crime preventers who enters the area of campaigning. That is why the violence has not erupted at Mzee’s Campaign Rallies; instead it is just poster perfect and wonderful yellow flowery smiles. Up to a point where it looks unrealistic and the perfection is just like Insta-DAMN. Well, that is not enough for Mzee, he doesn’t like that. Because FDC and Go-Forward campaigning is big and without ferrying voters from districts that is from other ones than where Mzee actually campaign giving them a bus-ride and paying for support. That must hurt after 29 years and nobody giving you love!

Mzee, you must be desperate to see the people going to FDC instead of you, even to Mbabazi then you! Therefore you have to use the trick of old since you haven’t learned any new. UPM is reacted. Uganda Patriot Movement; is resurrected through National Resistance Movement. They need to go to the bush, this time they are the UPC and have the UNLA in new name and state govern facilitated through the now UPDF! The generations have moved on and there new people in the army, still some old leaders from Luweero, though very few are still there. Mzee has kept a few of his men close and other have scattered like the ones who are his main opposition. So they know the Movement system and the way Mzee thinks. Still they try!

NRA M7

Mzee needs the army and bush-war tactics again, because he doesn’t trust anything else. Since he can’t produce any moral fiber or make anything worthwhile. Mzee lives and strides on the fear and not on the actual political platform or agenda since that is rewind from former elections; Mzee is not committed to deliver to the Ugandan people anymore, therefore he needs the army to secure that the Electoral Commission and Uganda Police Force is necessary tools for Mzee to get his will. That is so he can continue being the Executive Power and His Excellency President of Uganda. Mzee can’t trust the Uganda Police to deliver anymore and since it getting closer to the General Election in February 2016. That is why he trust now more in the advanced weapons then the Police to secure that he get the prize again, even if the opposition looks like it’s winning over the people this time around. Peace.

The sad story of Christopher Aine

Amama Masaka 16.11.15 Poster

We live in times where the regime has gone further and made moves that is just unjustified. Hon. Amama Mbabazi the former PM of Uganda and one of the independent presidential candidates in the general election of February 2016; have strong issues with the ruling NRM-Regime he we’re a former member of and in the inner circles of.

Hon. Amama Mbabazi is running and has a campaign team under the Go-Forward Group and The Democratic Alliance (TDA). Parts of that is a security detail that is restricted under the Electoral Commission under guidelines of the Uganda Police Force. Dr. Badru M. Kiggundu should know about this because he verifies and validates the running sheets and applications. IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura has knowledge of the security detail and usually adding people and weapons to secure the presidential candidate.

Go Forward 17.12.15 Free Aine

In this picture we’re the Security Detail of Amama Mbabazi where a brother who run it and we’re the aid of him, Christopher Aine. He is now a pivotal man and also a part of the struggle that Mbabazi had with the government. On the 13th December 2015 the election-violence that we’re sponsored by NRM and showed with cars of Sarah Kaglingo; this is where the local Regional District Police Commander helping to facilitate the Crime Preventers to make it happen!

The aftermath have been Go-Forward Security Team have been jailed. Christopher Aine went missing from around 17th December 2015 and never really surfaced since then. Mr Aine was picked up on December 17th at a round 6:00am by security officers from Bbunga, a Kampala suburb and taken to unknown destination along Luwero.

MuseveniQuote

On 20th December 2015 Mzee said this:

“If you put your hands in the anus of a leopard, you are in trouble” (…)“Thugs attacked NRM supporters. They are being rounded up, you cannot attack Ugandans. How can you attack NRM supporters in Uganda?  They’ll regret it”. He surely meant somebody in general that day.

The rest of the Go-Forward Security Team went to jail and other people involved in the campaign of Amama Mbabazi went to jail in the two weeks after Ntungamo clashes and election-violence. There we’re 17 people arrested at the Headquarter in Kampala on the 21st December; on the same day at the residence of JPAM four people we’re jailed. But still at this time there we’re no proof of Christopher Aine.

IGP Kale Kayihura Quote

1st January 2016 IGP Kale Kayihura went public with this:

“Police has issued notice to the public appealing for any information as to his whereabouts so that we apprehend him to answer charges relating to the incidents of beatings in Ntungamo district” (…)”We have put a reward of Shs 20 million for anyone who can help Police with information leading to his arrest and prosecution”.

2nd January 2016 IGP Kale Kayihura said this:

“Aine is the key suspect in the Ntungamo incident but he has not yet been apprehended, as he is on the run or in hiding. As police, we are offering a Shs20m reward for anyone who will tell us where he is hiding”.

On the early 6th January IGP Kale Kayihura have asked the Go-Forward Camp to bring forward Christopher Aine. Since they must be hiding him somewhere; Kayihura accuses the camp of hiding Aine, who is wanted for participating in clashes between National Resistance Movement (NRM) and Go-Forward supporters in Ntungamo district.

On the late night 6th January the photos of a deceased Christopher Aine arrived online. I will not show it. This photos we’re released by Charles Rwomushana. They we’re later released on the 7th January in the Daily Monitor and Red Paper newspapers this have led to the editors being jailed for showing them to the public, which we’re already floating online for close to 24 hours. Here is the letter that the Police sent to Red Pepper today.

Aine 7.1.16 UPF

Also on the 6th January 2016:

“Youth activists led by Norman Tumuhimbise, the National coordinator of the Jobless Brotherhood launched a manhunt for Aine at the home of his mother Jennifer Namuleme in Katale zone in Semuto town council in Nakaseke district. According to Tumuhimbise, they intend to raise Shillings 40 million to reward whoever will provide information on Aine’s whereabouts”.

Norman2

On the 7th January 2016 CP Fred Enanga has claimed the photo circulated where manipulated. While the sister of Christopher Aine and brother has claimed it to be him and have visited the Kampala Capital City Authority Mortuary to find the body and collect the remains of their deceased brother. Relatives of missing independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi’s aide Christopher Aine, have failed to trace his body at the mortuary, where they had gone to check for the reported dead body this morning. So after this the have claimed again that the family and Go-Forward are hiding Aine somewhere.

Also today the sister of Aine want’s the police to issue an warrant on the media who have published the photos, while CP Fred Enanga want the Jinja Road Magistrate to issue an warrant for the missing Christopher Aine. Later in the day today we’re just one editor of Red Pepper Newspaper who had to give statements to the Police. Now hours after three editors are detained from the paper is under arrest for releasing the story to the press. Police claims they know where he is missing.

Afterthought:

This here is starting to seem like UPF need better spin-doctors because nothing fits, I am just waiting for them to detain the sister for false-claim of picture in the media. The Ntungamo Clashes that we’re NRM’s fault have proven the issues of the one-man rule and their way of vengeance. Live free or die harder!

IGP Kale Kayihura tries to look good and make his men look wise. The same with CP Fed Enanga they might trick the die-hard illiterate hillbilly who hasn’t got their mind of their own. The rest of us see through it. There are too many loose points to the story and the police have a violent record that is longer than the hospital records at the Kings Hospital Mulago in Kampala.

That the UPF is after such a long while UGX 20m proves that there is something missing; it must be because he we’re an aide to the Go-Forward Presidential Candidate Amama Mbabazi. If he we’re one of the kids or people being washed on the shore at Lake Victoria during late-December 2015. Then we would know they we’re extra serious, that was a big group of people who lost their lives. Christopher Aine is important and the trust issues between Police Force and the people of Uganda they are supposed to serve. It proves that the Aine case is special and that it wouldn’t be weird if Special Forces Command is behind the abduction and made-him-go-missing. Later letting him loses his life. Uganda Police Force have taken people in the night and after social media and other people react they surface like Norman Tumuhimbise and Vincent Kaggwa we’re missing for two days in July 2015 and the family had to task the Police to release his all of a sudden with bruises and such. There is something wrong with Police and their actions toward opposition members and leaders in Uganda. Christopher Aine’s story is a sad one and he seems like he is deceased and hurt by the Police of Uganda by the Photos released online and published by the Red Paper Newspaper. I am just sad for the family, the Go-Forward Team and the election in general since this a useless death. A person is more valuable than power, money or elections.

That the Police can that easy take a life and get rid-off opposition figures brings worry of the state of rights in Uganda. The Police is not serving the people if they are killing the aid of Amama Mbabazi. That proves the issues between Amama Mbabazi and Yoweri Kaguta Museveni are too deep. Something is missing and this can’t be joked about. Christopher Aine did not live to die for nothing. Nothing is an election that President Museveni rigged, that he rigged yet again. Like he has done before; Christopher Aine was a supporter of Mbabazi. General Election of 2016 is so close and the killing seems forced by the power to sprint fear in the Go-Forward/TDA Camp to intimidate them from delivering and making the election harder for Mzee.

Mzee and his henchmen have gone too far. Mzee and his police have not told anything meaningful on the people on the shore of Lake Victoria. They might not be political killings like Christopher Aine. Aine is a manifestation of political violence and the deepest tragedy in this part of the campaign trail. That is a senseless murder of an innocent guard of a Presidential Candidate after the Ntungamo clashes. The Ntungamo clashes that Mzee claimes is Go-Forward supporters fault; which by now have to be credited NRM and their Police, who is clearing their name by killing Aine. The truth will come out; the worst is that this is just one out of many suspicious deaths. So many cars and automobile accidents with important people dies and election violence from the NRM-Regime will be tainted by this. If the international media catch-on, I doubt that, they only care if it is a gay brother who dies, because they matter more than political-killings for the moment. I don’t know why, but Christopher Aine should matter as much as David Kato, but trust me for the international media; they doesn’t see that way, even if I wish it be different. Aine deserves to be the crown-example of the violence in the name of National Resistance Movements Police Force in Uganda. Surely he is! Though the outcome is sad and that the UPF does what it can to spin-it differently. The world need to know the truth and the world want to know what really happened.

The loss of life that is Christopher Aine for being the aide of Amama Mbabazi in this time and day make me sad and furious. The way CP Enanga and IGP Kayihura tries to pin it differently is to wash their hands clean. Still, there are too many plots moving and the violence of the police and following the Uganda Police Force this seems likely. IGP Kayihura told the press earlier in the timeline that he just follows orders. Mzee can snap his mind and could have ordered it like Pizza and IGP Kayihura would say “Kale Ssebo”. So the life of Aine and his life will be remembered for the way the NRM-Regime acts towards the public and hurts the opposition, not serving them or giving them any steady-progress! Peace.

Government of Burundi will not take part in Peace-Talk with Opposition scheduled for Wednesday (Youtube-Clips)

“Burundi’s government will not take part in peace talks with the opposition scheduled for Wednesday, which are part of regional efforts to resolve a crisis triggered by President Pierre Nkurunziza’s decision to run for a third term in office. Joseph Bangurambona, the permanent secretary in the foreign affairs ministry said his government holds some of the participants responsible for recent months of violence. VOA’s Vincent Makori reports” (TV2 Africa, 2016).

“During a trial of 28 police and military figures, former Burundi Defense Minister Cyrille Ndayirukiye has pleaded guilty to involvement in a failed coup last May” (TeleSur English, 2016).

“AU commission chairperson Dr Nkosazana Dlamin-Zuma held talks with the Tanzanian foreign affairs minister in Durban on Tuesday. They both discussed the current political crises in Burundi, tension has let to many civilians losing lives as the army and the protesters clashed in some parts of the capital city Bujubura. Dlamini-Zuma has raised concern about loss of life in that country. While Tanzanian foreign affairs minister says peace and stability must be pursed” (SABC Digital News, 2016).

U.S. Gov. condems Rwandan President Kagame; Proves the double-standard; It’s okay for the U.S. ally President Museveni and wrong for President Kagame

East-Africa

We live in interesting times. The U.S. Government has condemned the Rwandan Government for giving the opportunity to have a third term for their President Kagame. President Museveni did the same in 2004 and the U.S. Government at that time couldn’t care or give two cents since him where their loyal ally. We didn’t hear anything last year when President Nkurunziza added to his two terms and only we’re late to the party when the news of the election-violence and assassinations came to broad light than the tune changed.

US Magazine Zaire LR

The same nation and government that supported the now deceased Mobutu Sese Seko in Democratic Republic of Congo then called Zaire. He we’re in charge of the country from about 1965 to 1997; when Laurent-Desire Kabila together with President Kagame’s and President Museveni’s armies; brought down the American sponsored and supported dictator. Who they needed through the cold-war to have a presence in the area, and not give that away to Soviet. We’ll they didn’t give him an army worth anything; when his neighbor countries invaded and took him down. That is just a sidebar.

Since the U.S. have supported dictators when they have needed them. The irony now for attacking Paul Kagame for doing his thing to get a third term seems a bit farfetched. We can see that U.S. trying to do something worth a damn in the area, since they have recently visited Kenya and Ethiopia. Well, recently U.S. reacted to Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza violence against opposition after an election for a third term and also going against the 2000 Arusha Peace Agreement, that we’re accepted by the courts as the first term; we’re accepted as adnominal since he was voted to power by parliament and not directly by the people! Even so, the public demonstrated and still is in turmoil and violence ever since March 2015 and we are in January 2016. The only thing U.S. did we’re to cut them from AGOA and that is zappy and looking meaningless in the big picture. They did not even have the ammunition to say it was wrong from the get-go for President Nkurunziza, surely because he is from a zip-code even the U.S. can’t care about.

U.S. Reaction on the 19th December 2015:

“The United States is disappointed that a referendum was called on short notice to amend the Rwandan constitution and introduce exceptions to term limits. While we commend the people of Rwanda for peacefully exercising their civic rights, we regret that the arrangements for the referendum failed to provide sufficient time and opportunity for political debate on the merits of the proposed provisions” (…)”The United States continues to be concerned by long-standing restrictions on peaceful assembly, association, and free expression in Rwanda. We urge the Government of Rwanda to enable the full and unfettered exercise of these fundamental freedoms as the country moves toward local elections in 2016, presidential elections in 2017, and parliamentary elections in 2018″.

This must have touched some nerves… So here is what he said back to them after the new-years.

So, the track record of recent is not beautiful. That President Kagame answers on twitter back we’re he was answering the U.S. Reaction on the 4th January 2016:

“So,…’diappointing?’ as a people and a leader/choices?? Uhm …it hurts!!! I promise we don’t intend to disappoint…esp ourselves!!”.

The issue is really, why the international bandwagon is reacting to him and not to all the other ones who keeps steady and sitting in power until death. Like the brother in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Zimbabwe and Sudan. Ugandan leader got some comments on the Barrack Obama visit in Africa in 2015, but they didn’t more or say since they need President Museveni sometimes it seems.

KabilaCartoon

The world is not reacting to the change of laws to make it happen in Democratic Republic of Congo where the son of Laurent-Desire Kabila, Joseph Kabila who does what he can to have a third-term as a president in the DRC. He seems he can move in silence and as he please not even the foreign affairs brother from Belgium reacting as he have done so much when it comes to Burundian President Nkurunziza. President Kablia seems like somebody who is not worth stressing about even when the news came out last year and the public reacted with #Telema demonstrations.

While the nuisances’ towards Rwanda and President Kagame seems like a doubled game, because you haven’t given a rats ass before and now you cry foul. I wonder if they will say anything if President Salva Kiir Mayardit stays in power after his second term of 6 years that will stretch to 2017. Since he have been in power of the nation since 2005 and when he continues from 2017 it will already be 12 years and with one more term will get 18 years; and that is a long time!

Salva Kiir Poster

President Kagame has been in power for a long time and people should be allowed to question his actions. Rwandan government and country is sovereign. As the same use of sovereign state Burundi have used against having an AU Peacekeepers in the country because that will take their freedom and justice as a nation because they can handle the turmoil internally. President Nkurunziza says so and the international community doesn’t speak up against that.

U.S. Government might have forgotten that Franklin Delano Roosevelt had three terms he was in power from 1932 to 1945. He would have if he didn’t die of health problems actually could have served a fourth term. Unprecedented in American history, still it proves they can do it to!

And when they need somebody they can support them even when they are undemocratic, but the U.S. doesn’t need President Kagame. They do not fear the turmoil of Burundi even though the Inter-Burundian dialogue that happens in Uganda, issued and led by the President Museveni. Who have no plan to step-down even though he have run the country since 1986. He follows suit of former fellows. President Museveni would if he could; Help out the son of Jomo Kenyatta and get a bigger suit in East Africa. President Musveni might even give him lessons on how to keep power in Kenya to President Uhuru Kenyatta; who is currently working on his campaign and party structure of the new Jubilee Party in the country. Preparing for a second term and campaign to secure that! Nothing is meantioned about the issues of the growing tension, the embezzlement and the corruption in Kenya; That is not an issue for the U.S. Since they need Kenya to fight Al-Shabab as well! Therefore they let all the other issue to the side.

President Museveni is allowed to do as he need and can. The U.S. would never say anything crazy unless he bans the gay community and put fire unto the “Anti-Gay-Bill” again! President Kagame can be taken and punished since he doesn’t have a role to play that U.S. need. President Kabila in DRC trades rare-earth minerals and other commodities cheaply so if he wants to stay; hell; he can stay! President Nkurunziza is only an issue when starts to harass and assassinate people in his own country, if he we’re silent about it, the U.S. government would not care. But President Kagame is the issue. Hope there anybody else who see something wrong with that picture?

Peace.

Dr. Ruhakana Ruganda Statement on Crime Preventers place during the campaign trail and election period (05.01.2016)

Dr ruhakana ruganda

Friends, this is a statement I have just issued at a Press Conference at the Uganda Media Centre today:

Ladies and gentlemen of the media,

We invited you today, to inform the country through you, about the critical importance of peace, unity, security and stability during this election campaign period and beyond.

As we have said in the past, peace, security, unity and stability of our country are common goods, which we must all guard jealously irrespective of our differences. They are cardinal values that do not know any differences. They are critical for our country’s progress and development.

The presidential campaigns have largely remained peaceful thus far, as the candidates have traversed the country and many citizens have come out to listen to the various messages. This is to be applauded, celebrated and encouraged.

Sadly, though, it has come to our attention that some political actors including some candidates are diverting from this good trend. There is an emerging trend of fanning sectarianism through the use the media and other platforms. This is not only dangerous; it is also criminal.

We appeal to all candidates and their supporters to focus more on the things that unite and build their communities and Uganda rather than dividing them.

If those involved in trying to divide Ugandans along the above mentioned sectarian lines don’t desist, government will invoke the necessary legal machinery to investigate and prosecute them in the courts of law.

For instance, we are following up reports that a small group of the radical opposition are talking and planning violent actions during and after the election with the overall objective to disrupt social and economic activities as well as to paralyze governance.

As part of this dangerous plan, there is also persistent talk of “defiance” mainly at campaign rallies by some candidates. Such candidates have been stating publicly state that they will not respect any of the laws or guidelines as issued from time to time by either the Independent Electoral Commission or other responsible Government agencies. This, again, is unacceptable and illegal. Whatever we do must be guided by, and conform to the laws of Uganda.

Crime-preventers-on-the-parade-in-Kasese-district-2

Government has established that some of these groups, under the guise of training agents to protect their votes, are raising semi-militia groups under different code names like Power 10 (P10), Pentagon, Youth Brigade and Ki-face, among others. These groups, we have learnt, are being prepared to incite violence and violent confrontations, starting on polling day until the swearing ceremony in case they lose the elections.

Election campaigns are not a licence to break the law.

The NRM government will not standby when some elements are trying to cause violence, havoc and disrupt the peace and development in Uganda.

We would like to let the public, including those being lured into these mischievous schemes, to know that government is closely following them. I, therefore, appeal our people, particularly the youth, not to be tempted into joining such groups seeking to break the law. Those who dare to join will face the full force of the law.

Finally, I would like to re-assure Ugandans and the international community that the NRM Government has in place sufficient measures to ensure that the forth-coming elections are held under tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.

This will ensure that the outcome is credible and reflects the true will of our voters and, should, therefore, be respected by all.

President Kagame End of Year Address | Kigali, 1 January 2016 (Youtube-Clip)

“You requested me to lead the country again after 2017. Given the importance and consideration you attach to this, I can only accept.  What remains is to follow the normal laws and procedures when the time comes. But I do not think our aim is to have a President for life, nor is it what I would want. Sooner rather than later, this office will be transferred from one person to another in a manner that will serve a purpose, not merely set an example, whether for ourselves or others. That is why we need to remain fully engaged on Rwanda’s journey of transformation.”

President Kagame

How Mzee pledge to fix the problems in every campaign rally; as he has done since 1986; nothing new just polished pledges

NRM 131015

The issue is here, I don’t have to be to specific about the campaign promises from Mzee. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his National Resistance Movement have their own way of repeating themselves. YKM or Mzee have the class-act of a tiring Tata model. You know what he going to promise.

He will promise new roads from the central towns in the area and towards other main centers under 50 kilometers away. They will be tarmacked and built in the next period. If there is harbor or forest nearby him will help investment and build a paper-mill or functioning industry fitting the area. The same happens in other areas where it is more fitting for metal-industry, tea-factory or a sugar-factory. To prove that NRM will get jobs to the areas finally after 29 years of reign.

JinjaRoad Roundabout Kampala

Mzee does not only promise industry and infrastructure. That would not be to fun. He will promise after 29 years to fix or build health-care facilities in every district or furnish them. This while his police force will close them down when the opposition passes by, he fears that they can actually see the #SteadyProgress on the matter.

NAADS Piggery Enterprise Ibanda

Mzee will also promise the use of NAADs money. For those who don’t know – NAADS is short for: National Agricultural Advisory Services. NAADS funds are to set up functions to use cash crops and educate the Ugandan small plot farmers into profitable produce. He will promise more of this and offer specific funds for a set of fixed funds that are for one group of people in the district like Micro-Finance for hard-working woman in Busia. They are promised extra millions if they vote for you.

Mzee will promise the youth more work not industrial, but in general without saying the solution to the matter. You will point out the #SteadyProgress and the greatest program ever since the Ten-Point Program – Operation Wealth Creation; where you have made a few small steps and funds to fix the issues of poverty. And you promise that more people in that district will be included into the Wealth Creation scheme and have district youth being supported through it.

Mzee will promise more security and ask the people of the district to be grateful for the decent performance of the NRM on this point. That they will continue to serve the districts and the public, both the army and police will only be there for them if they promise to vote for him and NRM, because nobody else keeps them cool.

EducationUgandaLogo

Mzee will promise the district and the people school equipment and have a technical school in every district. So that he can prove that he takes the education of the children of the country seriously. As they will be promised to get schoolbooks and notebooks for their studies!

Mzee will promise more districts and sub-counties to secure loyalty and in the end more government funds to support these new districts and hire more loyal people in the area in a new functioning of the movement-program of the 1980s (the last piece is just refreshing the memories of the voters).

Mzee will again promise to become a middle-income country and earn enough on its own. So that the country will go into a new term and make sure to the steady progress started in 1986; that he have to continue because he couldn’t finish it last term since he have all the time worked to secure peace in the country fighting ADF and LRA an such instead of building the land. But now that they are fought back he can now promise to secure the country and become a middle-income country.

I think that is enough of him for now. There will be more since he is still the President of Uganda. Running the country and using the government institutions against the opposition as done so systematically. There will be more things to come, but I hope that the people and voters don’t buy into these promises. It is 29 years of the same kind of promises and respectably we can see that Mzee haven’t kept the promises of old, why should he keep the new ones now?

Peace.

Leaders of Opposition stay “United and support each other!”; Mzee works for a destabilized opposition; don’t help him!

Mbabazi M7 Besigye

There we’re loose talks between Dr. Kizza Besigye and Hon. Amama Mbabazi in Masindi recently. Just like the Kofi Annan talks in London in November we’re not fruitful. That would been seem like a pipe-dream with the way Amama Mbabazi won the race inside the The Democratic Alliance earlier in 2015. When Dr. Kizza Besigye pulled out of the coalition and went solo with his party as their sole-presidential candidate.

Therefore there shouldn’t be a stepping down at this point and this close to the General Election in February 18th of 2016. That stepping down for both candidates would be risk. The FDC have an operational system of campaigning after doing so for a decade or nearly two. Hon. Amama Mbabazi have been on the bandwagon of NRM until recently so his formation and campaign team might have experience and some loyalty towards him, but it all based on the trust and support of him and his manifesto. Together with the men supported from the supportive parties in the Democratic Alliance (TDA).

So that some people wish for a united opposition would be big cut, still this election will not be like previous for the simple matter, the more the Mzee lingers the less of supports he gets. It’s proven by how much crime-preventers have to be driven around to campaigns, how much food that are bought to serve the public and boda-boda drivers paid extra for getting the public to the rallies.

Besigye Amama

That is seemingly not enough of the state of affairs. Mzee is not capable of letting there be a level playing field for all the presidential candidates. He uses police and military outfits together with the Electoral Commission to subdue and stop the other candidates to do their campaign trail in an ordinary fashion. They have Special Forces Command after them, Anti-Riot Police follows then, the DPC does look and keep track of the candidates, and the Police Force does shut down venues and public buildings and block roads. Mzee have a second campaign team combined with his fellow foes in the NRM-O party.

That is why the Opposition has to work together. Because the force against them isn’t just political, it’s the government and NRM-Regime uses the knowledge of these to its advantage. But that is something the Opposition knows well. Therefore they have to use other means to get the people behind them.

TDA with the FDC would be stronger and more united. Without FDC they are weaker because of the consistency of the parties and their structure. So with that in mind the UPC-NRM proves the weakness of TDA. FDC on its own have a structure and base. FDC have wise leaders under the presidential candidate that can reason and make changes to society. Go-Forward and TDA does so, but not so many on its own. TDA have certain left from DP, JEEMA, Go-Forward and the PPP. There are the places for the smaller parties except for the TIC and Farmers Party. Rests of the presidential candidates are solo and totally independent.

TDA Adress

The small talk and craziness of blowing fire in-between Hon. Amama Mbabazi and Dr. Kizza Besigye, the Go-Forward and Forum for Democratic Change is unnecessary in the rest of the campaign-trail towards 18th February 2016. This will not generate anything good! That Abed Bwanika would throw shade on Dr. Kizza Besigye as he claims to be the first speaking up against Mzee. Let him do that, but for the moment Mr. Bwanika doesn’t have the support or structure to go against either top three presidential candidates, he might have more supporters then Joseph Mabirizi and Maureen Faith Kayala Walube, seen pictures even from Kampala with meager crowds. These candidates might have a good wish and dream to be leaders of the country, but to be honest the public also know they don’t have suction to succeed yet.

The Mbabazi and Besigye story is the third time with talks and the outcome was expected for the simple matter, none of them will back down. Besigye have a real momentum and beacons of hope in the deep darkness between now and the future that he sheds lights on. Amama Mbabazi has become the unlikely enemy of Mzee. Therefore Mbabazi and Go-Forward feels the pressure of the police and the other NRM infested entities of the land.

While Dr. Kizza Besigye has the momentum he have had since start of Nomination Day in November. Every step of the way have been a ceremony of victories, even when the police have stepped out of line and crashed the party. The Electoral Commission can ban and police can block the ways, but still the power of people seems to be behind the People’s President. Hon. Amama Mbabazi knows this and knows the structure of the FDC, even when he was siting as the PM, he knew about the structures and situations in place, since he had the accommodation and put together with NRM in place Public Order Management Act in 2010. To help the NRM stop Dr. Kizza Besigye by any means take him down. This have led to Government of Uganda turns more because of this like a Police State, state protected from it own people with the Police. That is what the POMA laws have done and stops opposition parties to meet the people and follow ordinary structure and meetings without thumbs up from the police. So with this knowledge Amama Mbabazi knows that he has worked to help crushing opposition, which is where he is stuck himself and just a hot minute before the General Election.

Dr. Kizza Besigye has secured himself in a party built with structures, loyalty and values. Even with the deflections and such, there is still certainty that they have party level expertise and support to fetch and support their FDC members. The Go-Forward is a young organization who was birthed and came to fruition just in minutes before the nominations and picking candidates to deliver them to the Electoral Commission. The certainty is that every party and people leaving to create a party happens at any moment. But this here is a party built around Amama Mbabazi. The values and such is based on how he is and is quickly mended up, there are deflections from FDC to Go-Forward. That is expected!

Go-Forward would earn a lot on having FDC on board. NRM would lose on it. NRM is doing whatever to breach the momentum of FDC. Go-Forward have suction, but I don’t see the same level of the FDC. Though anything else then FDC would be bonus and the best. While I stand by the People’s President; Dr. Kizza Besigye is the leaders of the opposition and is why the NRM and former NRM PM Amama Mbabazi made the POMA. Therefore the defiance campaign got to continue but in great spirit to the Go-Forward, as we all wish Mzee to lose, even if know the rigging is extensive and police is interfering in the election more the Electoral Commission observers. The expected result is victory for NRM and Mzee, even if the momentum and honorary public seems to support Dr. Kizza Besigye, because the president has the army and police on speed-dial. That is why Besigye shouldn’t throw shades on the other opposition candidates. Hon. Amama Mbabazi should not talk trash about Besigye or other candidates than the NRM Flag-Bearer. The TIC, PDP, Farmers Party and independent can throw more shade, but their caucus and words means less since their structures and support is smaller at this point. It is the general feeling of the top-three that will set the standard of the campaigns.

We don’t need to go dirty when you have a ruling party who does that in extensive ways. They do everything in the book plus bonuses every day. Therefore the Go-Forward and Forum for Democratic Change needs to be cool and calm. Progress and continue the struggle. Because the candidates should work towards a better future already now; not continue with the struggles by framing each other. FDC’s Dr. Kizza Besigye has this and can have it. If this was a fair fight and a fair election he would win. Since we know about the rigging and the other malpractices there will be announced most likely somebody else, we know Mzee. But the issue is how we go about it and be gentlemen about it; something that the times as this are missing. Peace.
