South Sudan: The National Democratic platform/Army – Public Condemnation: A Blatant Coup Against Democracy (12.09.2025)

The SPLM-IG’s brazen attempt to muzzle opposition voices has breached the threshold of acceptable politics, exposing their flagrant disregard for constitutionalism and the rule of law. The arbitrary detention of Dr. Riek Machar, a high-ranking official and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM-IO, constitutes a grave breach of the Peace Agreement’s immunity provisions and undermines the chain of command.

This juridical coup d’etat will fail due to the prosecution’s inability to reconcile Dr. Machar’s diplomatic immunity with the dubious charges levied against him. The Peace Agreement’s supremacy over the Constitution and other laws renders their actions ultra vires, null, and void.

We demand accountability and adherence to the principles of democratic governance,

constitutionalism, and the rule of law. The SPLM-IG’s actions betray their true intentions: to consolidate power through authoritarian means, potentially triggering a state of emergency and undermining the upcoming electoral process.

The people will not be intimidated. We call on all stakeholders, including regional guarantors and international observers, to reject this power grab and uphold the principles of democracy, justice, and constitutionalism.

Tchad: The Builders Pact – Press Release (11.09.2025)

A call for justice from the “Builders’ Pact.” The organization expresses its deep outrage at this latest military operation by the Mahamat Kaka regime, targeting the people of Tibesti, particularly in Miski.

As the press release emphasizes, the objective is not security, but the plundering of mineral resources. This mafia-like system deprives Chadians of their own resources.

The Builders’ Pact offers its full and unconditional support to the people of Tibesti and the self-defense committees who are courageously resisting this injustice. They call for solidarity to make the voices of the resistance heard.

It is our duty to support those who are fighting for dignity and to ensure that Chad’s wealth benefits all its children.

We call for the organization of actions of support and #Solidarity to make the voices of the #Resistors in #Tibesti heard.

Where is Sam Mugumya?

It has been 17 days since Sam Mugumya was abducted and taken away by the authorities in Mbarara. Since then, there haven’t been a voice or a visible vision of the individual in question. The activist and opposition leader, Sam Mugumya who is vying office in 2026 as Member of Parliament in the General Election in 2026.

Mugumya knows the torment and knows the pains of challenging the system. He has been here before, but it is still dire for him. We don’t know who has him and where they are keeping him. He was supposed to be produced in Court after the Habeas Corpus application was denied yesterday and adjourned to 19th September 2026. Sam Mugumya was supposed to be produced in Courts during this week, but instead his kept in a dungeon for another week.

They want to keep him for month without any trial, due process or possible justification to keep him detained. That’s what the state does and how they operate. The ones believing in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) or President Museveni. This is how they act and weaponizing the judicial system against its detractors.

Sam Mugumya could be anyone of us. Sam is another civilian captured, and they are taking his liberties away. We have no idea of the possible torture, harm or punitive action they are doing against him. It isn’t anything new of the state to torture or damage an incarcerated person. Just to prove their power… and what they are capable of.

He can be in a safe-house or wherever, but Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) acts like it doesn’t know. They claim they have no idea where Sam Mugumya is. We can rest assure that the Uganda Police Force (UPF) or any other entity doesn’t know too, but someone does. As someone ordered to kidnap, abduct and keep him detained. Sam Mugumya didn’t lose his freedom without someone giving the order to take it away from him. That’s a given and we all should know that.

Sam Mugumya isn’t alone in this. There are plenty more prisoners of conscience in the Republic. He is just one of plenty, who is suffering, because they dare to challenge the ones in power. Peace.
