Niger: Front Patriotique de Liberation (FPL) – Communique No. 014 (13.10.2024)

In light of the continued deterioration of the human rights situation in the country, the Legal and Human Rights Committee follows with great concern the arbitrary arrests and illegal detention of the people of the Nuba Mountains, after their displacement from the conflict areas in Khartoum Bahri to the city of Shendi. These serious violations, which target civilians, including women, men and children, are a flagrant violation of human rights and national and international laws.
We strongly condemn the repressive methods practiced by the Military Intelligence against the people of the Nuba Mountains, who fled the bloody conflict in Khartoum Bahri in search of safety, only to be subjected to mass arrests and degrading treatment in detention centers. This aggressive behavior, which disregards the most basic human rights, confirms the continuation of discriminatory practices that the people of the margins in Sudan have long suffered from.
Accordingly, we call for the following:
1. Immediate and unconditional release of all detainees who have been arbitrarily detained in the city of Shendi.
2. Holding the so-called security cell and military intelligence fully responsible for the safety of detainees and their conditions of detention.
3. Providing legal and humanitarian protection for the displaced and ensuring that such violations that undermine any efforts to achieve peace and justice are not repeated.
We affirm that we, in the Legal and Human Rights Committee, will continue to monitor and document these violations, provide legal assistance, and work with international human rights organizations to ensure that perpetrators of violations do not escape punishment.

Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces “Tagadom”

On Saturday, October 5, the army’s warplanes launched airstrikes targeting the Hamra Al-Sheikh area in North Kordofan State. On Monday morning, the city of Hasahisa in Al-Jazeera State was subjected to airstrikes that resulted in the deaths of dozens of civilians and the injury of hundreds. Concurrently with these events, the Rapid Support Forces carried out artillery shelling on the Al-Hatana area north of Omdurman.
“Taqaddom” mourns the martyrs of these painful events, and asks God to have mercy and forgiveness for them. It extends its deepest condolences to their families and relatives, wishing a speedy recovery to all the wounded and injured.
“Tagadom” regrets the continued targeting of civilians by both warring parties, strongly condemns these violations, and calls on both parties to abide by their commitments to protect civilians in accordance with the Jeddah Agreement signed between them in May 2023.
“Tagadom” renews its call to the two parties to the conflict to stop the suffering of the Sudanese people and resume negotiations with sincerity and seriousness. The longer the war lasts, the more suffering will be recorded in history as crimes committed by both parties. It is better for them to record honorable positions as brave leaders who chose to spare their country more calamities and give their people a chance for a better life in freedom, peace and justice, responding to the legitimate aspirations of our people and the December Revolution that is still alive as slogans, visions and legitimate aspirations that will remain until victory is ultimately achieved.

“If this current US Ambassador does not apologize to Mzee personally by Monday morning (9.00am) for his undiplomatic behaviour in our country we will demand he leaves Uganda. We have no problem with the USA, as I have said many times it is a country we love and admire. But lately we have a lot of evidence that they have been working against the NRM government” – Genal Muhoozi Kainerubaga (04.06.2024).
“Fellow Ugandans, it is my solemn duty to announce to you all that we as a nation are about to have a serious confrontation with the current US Ambassador to our country. For disrespecting our beloved and celebrated President and for undermining the constitution of Uganda” – Genal Muhoozi Kainerubaga (04.06.2024).
We are living in interesting times, as if the role, the high ranking official and first son is allowed to do whatever. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other entities are just silent. They are not reacting to the Commander of Defence Force (CDF) and his whims. No, they are allowing it and he can cause a stir across the borders.
This weekend it happened again. Now he went after the United States of America Ambassador William Popp. Certainly, the recent sanctions and such has hit the pride of the CDF. The manner of which certain Police Officers are now targeted by that. However, there is nothing stopping the co-operation, the bilateral aid or anything in this regard to the Republic. No, that continues like normal still.
It is just a spectacle and a loose mouth. A person that lacks decorum and the ability to read the room. If he has these grievances and such, he should speak to his father and the ask the system through the diplomatic channels to get to the U.S. Ambassador. Instead, he boosted his ego online and later deleted them. Like we couldn’t see it coming.
The CDF is forgetting his place. His arrogance and ignorance are so blatantly clear. He is jaded by ego and lack of proper protocol. Muhoozi needs lessons in civics and diplomacy, as he is just a brat and someone who have lived a shielded life in entitlement.
Others would have had to resign over this. Heck, the Nairobi tweets and invasion threats would have been the demise of others. His father said he should focus on sports, and he never did. That’s why it’s really special how he can get away from it. Only because of his bloodline and who his related too. If he was an ordinary joe… he would be a fallen soldier already. No, his defended and allowed to act this way.
He will only continue with these sorts of rants online. Because nothing is stopping him. Neither is there any punitive actions or downfall for him. His allowed to act like this and gets away with it.
Gen. Muhoozi Kainerubaga thinks he can inherit the throne and continue the legacy of his father. He finds himself youthful, but it couldn’t be further from the truth. He is ticking closer to retirement age than the youth. That’s where he is…
The General needs to find other places to vent and place his ideas. To do that in social media only erodes his office and his supposed image. Not that he can spoil the vision we all have of him, but everyone now see him for who he is.
He is lucky to get where his at and without much merits to do so. Allowed to joke around with his political gambits, meanwhile working within army. Others would have lost rank and been thrown out easily. Therefore, we know the difference between him and them. That is shown again, and again.
It isn’t even funny anymore, but just status quo. The father, the son and mama Janet. Those are the trinity of nepotism in the Republic. Peace.
