South Sudan: Time for the IG to recognize that they are the problem

The one who sets fire to the forest cannot complain when the smoke chokes him” – African Proverb

The SPLM-IG has to consider what it is doing and before it is to late. Do they want Juba to burn and tanks in the streets? Does the SPLM-IG to have full fledged war and conflict on its hands?

They are soon there and the President are waling directly into the flames that he set on fire. The flames are soon out of control and he cannot complain about the smoke it has created. The dust isn’t settled and this is only the beginning. Wil he do this so he and his successor will rule over the ashes?

Is that the game President Salva Kiir Mayardit and VP Benjamin Bol Mel wants?

I’m just asking, because there is no proof of any sincerity or will to turn the clock back. There is no proof or evidence of a will silence the guns. Instead “the Silent Guardian” is attacking and bombing civilians. The UPDF is a willing tool to destroy, deplete and silence the rebellions of the nation. They are attacking them on behalf of the state. That’s what the state is doing and the IG should see what it is doing on their accord.

This is who the IG is and what they willing to do. Soon they are waging war on a massive spectrum. Not only against a rebellion and an armed insurgency against the Naath White Army. The SSPDF and UPDF are soon attacking SPLM-IO cantonment across the Republic. As they are already doing it again and the IO tells civilians to flee to safety. That’s what they are doing, meanwhile the IG will vilify the IO and anyone else who opposes it.

The IG should be careful. It is lighting a fire and I don’t know if they know how to stop it or if they want to even. There has been nothing in the wind or indications of anyone wanting to fetch water or even find measures to contain the fire. No, they just light up the forest and hoping nobody would notice. Seriously, is this who you are?

J-1 failed the Nuer and people of Nasir county. That is proven already, the bombings and usage of chemical weapons is a proof of how the state lost their way. This is what they did to civilians and to prove a point who was their master. That’s what the IG told the people here and the people have seen it now. So, the IG shouldn’t expect much or praise for their actions, as the Nasir will bury their own and know these liberators of Juba aren’t there to save them, but to send them into an early grave.

It is time for J-1 and such to listen. They need to act carefully and be calm. Nevertheless, when they decide the weapons and ammunition is the way out. That’s when you know they are lighting the fire and with no intent to stop it. They might blame the victims and the ones who get burned by fire. Nevertheless, they brought this on themselves and everyone else. They did it and these flames are their fault. That’s the reality here…

IG should know better, they have been here before, but now we as they are slowly walking into the ashes. We can just await the burials and the shallow graves, because some men just wants to consolidate power and rule over the souls that’s here no more. Peace.

Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré survives another coup attempt

The Burkinabé people remain resolute and united behind President Ibrahim Traoré, whose leadership continues to command overwhelming support in our fight against insecurity and external manipulation” – Minister of Security Mahamadou Sana (21.04.2025).

Joanny Compaoré, Damiba, Djibril Bassolé are the masterminds of this umpteenth coup d’état foiled by the president of the National Council of State Security, Commander Oumarou Yabre. These stateless mercenaries, concerned about the fate of their imperialist allies and the well-being of their fellow citizens, would have embarked on disastrous projects against the nation to please France and its lackeys in Côte d’Ivoire. This stateless Joanny Compaoré, former commander dismissed from the national army and dismissed from his position as director of SONABHY and his mercenary acolytes who collaborate hand in hand with the terrorists, thought they would succeed in their coup without being worried” (Le Message Libre – ‘Burkina Faso: Coup attempt foiled, patriotic people remain mobilized against stateless people and their imperialist allies’ 18.04.2025).

Last week on the 16th April 2025 there was plans to overthrow Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the Mouvement Patriotique pour la Sauvegarde et la Restauration (MPSR) Transitional Government, which have postponed elections and a civilian transition. As the junta consolidate power and ensure longevity of its reign.

Captain Traoré after taking power on the 30th September 2022. Waited all the way to the May 2024 before signing a decree giving himself an additional five years in office. That would give him 7 years without elections or any sort of electoral road-map. It is just a blessing and given that his the ruler now.

That Captain Traoré is feeling the heat isn’t anything new. The junta leader has to look over his shoulders and hope that he has trustworthy allies surrounding him. As there been several attempts of overthrowing him. There been several attempts, assassination plots and even mutinies within the army. Therefore, the backers and stakeholders supporting it has used all means to get rid of him, but never succeeding.

The captain should pray to his lucky star that there are peoople like Oumarou Yabre who are willing and is saving his career. The likes of Yabre is the reason why the Captain can be the Commander-in-Chief and the Head of State. People like him keeps him in office and does it out of their duty. That loyalty and the sort of dedication is needed to safeguard the throne.

This isn’t the first or the last. It feels like the 20th or maybe even 30th attempt by now. It has been so common and steady. That not writing about it feels like fever dream. The captain has to accept that his walking on a thin line and can easily fall. If he slips or have a moment of weakness, that could mean his end. There are enough knives out and that’s why he needs the likes of Yabre surrounding him. Those are the sort of character that will save his day. That is the lesson here and people should recognize that. Peace.

South Sudan: IO starting their defence protocol – One more step closer to a full-scale civil war

The SPLA-IO would like to inform the peace loving people of South Sudan, the Region and the International Community that since the illegal arrest of its Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Gabriel Duop Lam and the subsequent arrest of its Commander in Chief, H.E. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon (PHD) who is also the FVP of the Republic of South Sudan, the SSPDF and their allies continued with aggression against the SPLA-IO positions and civilians in its territory without restraint. The SPLA-IO appreciates the diplomatic approaches from IGAD, AU, UN and the International Community in trying to push for a peaceful solution but it’s clear that the SPLM-IG and SSPDF chose war over peace. Therefore, the SPLA-IO Ag Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Peter Thok Chuol hereby directs all Sectors, divisions and all units of the SPLA-IO to be vigilant and promptly defend themselves and the civilians under their control areas. An attack on any SPLA-IO position is an attack on all SPLA-IO” (SPLM-IO – ‘SPLA-IO FORCES OFFICIAL DIRECTED TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AND CIVILIANS IN THEIR CONTROLLED AREAS’ 21.04.2025).

There is a lot of darkness reading the text and Press Release from the SPLM-IO. It isn’t just a warning, but a sign of what to come. As we know the SPLM-IG and SSPDF have targeted and been attacking IO cantonments across the Republic. It just shows that the R-ARCSS went into hibernation or even ceased to be operative the moment the IO leaders was arrested and was taken into custody. That’s why we are seeing this and the IG has just escalated it all, as it even tried a coup d’etat of the leadership of the IO without any luck.

J-1 and Juba should be worried. There should be a concern tonight. As the IO is putting this protocol and defence mechanism ahead. It is a sign that it won’t allow to be targets and will now retaliate. That means the IO has seen what the SSPDF is doing and has been preoccupied with. Therefore, this is the only way out. As the IG aren’t willing or trying to negotiate or talk to the IO.

If this was the rise to power of Benjamin Bol Mel, it is clearly not working. If the IG was trying to consolidate power and make him the new kingpin to takeover from President Salva Kiir Mayardit. This haven’t helped him or his cause. It has all backfired and there isn’t any support for it. That’s the UPDF have to carry the weight and fight the war for him against the Naath White Army. Seriously, this is just creating tension and more conflict. Not being a proper way to get to the throne. Alas, if he wants to do it like a heist and be the thief in office, maybe he thinks this is a smooth operation. However, we are seeing a farce and a slippery slope into civil war.

That just says it. The IO isn’t having a war-cry just yet. Nevertheless, they are getting close to it and sooner or later the lethal action has been done. As the bullets, the drones and whatnot are in bloody action. That is just what is to come. Kiir and Machar has been here before and it’s tragic that they are at it again. These two should have retired and let new leaders takeover a long time ago. However, they cannot give way and it shows. That’s why Kiir has to force his next in line and do it in spiteful way.

The R-ARCSS seems to be on the deathbed and soon a long lost tale of unfulfilled promises. The Republic had yet again signed a transitional agreement with stipulations, mechanisms and possible power-sharing between the stakeholders. That was all well, but the lack of implementation and the lack of institutionalizing the state has been only beneficial to President and his allies. The personification of the state is only hurting the state in the long-run and it shows.

That’s why we are here. There is still time to turn the clock and make a difference. That’s if there is a will or a possibility for the ones in power to humiliate themselves. They have to back-down and talk. That takes courage and someone might need a little liquid courage to step up. However, it is better to do it now. Before it is to late and it will cost plenty of lives. Lives that cannot return and the hope of a better tomorrow will be put on hold, yet again. South Sudan deserves better than that and the ones in office knows this perfectly well. They have been the actors in the same movie before and they are just recreating it in front of our eyes. Peace.

The Silent War: What is Kabila’s game-plan? As he returned to Goma on Friday

Former Congolese President Joseph Kabila arrived in Goma, the capital of North Kivu, this Friday. He reportedly passed through Kigali before heading to eastern DRC. This information was confirmed by his entourage” (Justine Kabumba, 18.04.2025).

The former Congolese president arrived in Goma this Friday, after a visit to Kigali. He had been living in southern Africa since 2024. On April 8, in a shocking letter, he announced:

“There is danger at home. I’m returning without delay.” A press briefing is expected in the coming hours, according to several North Kivu media outlets” (Pepele News, 18.04.2025).

After hearing the news that Joseph Kabila had been in Kigali before returning to the Democratic Republic of Congo. You can clearly wonder what is his gambit and game-plan ahead. There are open questions and what does he want to achieve?

What does he want to do now? Because, he wouldn’t risk his lavish lifestyle or the enriched gains he had during his reign. The former President has liven large on the public’s dime and he didn’t mind doing so for years. He sought out a deal with the current President Felix Tshisekedi and he left the country. That seemed all swell and Tshisekedi is now on his second term after getting into office.

That’s why you know it’s been years. We know the FCC-CACH agreement went through the wind and Tshisekedi was able to consolidate power. He did so and played the political game to outwit and outmanoeuvre the ones that challenged him. That was to show who was boss and this is really it.

The recent revelations of the funding and global players involved in the cobalt commodity trading. Only shows how the conflict and how the proxy armies are able to gain funds to operate. However, someone else has to pull the strings and be the backers. As there are known affiliation and support from both Kampala and Kigali in that matter. Would it be out of the question to wonder if Kabila could be the invisible hand that directed it all? He knows the game and he used insecurity to his own benefits in office. If someone knows how to use it and profit from it. Kabila is a brother who knows and he know M23 as he negotiated with them and got them into cantonment in Kasese, Uganda. So, this man knew the people and the ones who could spark it all.

That’s why he can enter Goma without no fear or be afraid of retribution. This man would know what could happen to him and why his in supposed unfriendly territory. The ones believing he could be on a mission of peace and possibility to mediate. Well, is he the right guy? Who has made him a special envoy or even a wiser elder for that matter? Well, after my memos and others… there are no announcement of that and therefore, we should dismiss it until EAC, SADC or AU says a word. However, don’t expect them to utter a single word or even drop a presser anytime soon.

We can now wonder what is his next plot or plan, as Kabila wouldn’t do this without some sort of justification and a reason. If he didn’t think he had an advantage or some sort of opportunity. Then he would have lingered in South Africa. That’s what we know, but what his next play or sort is in thin air. If he is a shadow backer and wants to continue advance of the AFC/M23 than his surely risking his legacy completely. His a man who is waging war in the nation that he was running and tried to never leave. That’s really a compelling story and shows what a man is willing to do.

Kabila isn’t maverick, but a man for the long-con. I just don’t know what the long-con or the short-con in this one is right now. Nevertheless, sooner or later that will be revealed. Peace.
