South Sudan: The sanctioned “Al-Cardinal” is sworn-in as a Vice President

“I am dedicated to advancing our economic agenda and working closely with H.E. to ensure South Sudan secures its rightful place in the region” – Vice President for Economic Cluster, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel (12.02.2025).

It is really amazing that Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, the in-law of the President Salva Kiir Mayardit is now sworn-in as a Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan. His now being ushered into the upper echelon of state and being prepared for a possible transition in the future. Though there is little to no trust that Kiir has any plans of ever relieving himself or having someone to be his successor.

With that in mind, the former Presidential Advisor and Envoy are now becoming an VP. A man who is sanctioned by the United States of America. This man has already been caught being corrupt and using his role as a way of enriching himself. That’s why he has at least two properties in Juba and one in Nairobi, Kenya.

The new VP has roles in four sanctioned companies, ABMC Thai-South Sudan Construction Company Limited (ABMC), Winners Construction Company Limited, HOME AND AWAY Ltd and ARC Resources Corporation ltd.

In addition to that, to ensure he got the ill-gotten gains he used alias to transfer transactions and funds between accounts. He has used phony names like “Ashraf Seed Ahmed Hussein Ali” and “Al-Cardinal”. There is also reports that he has used this alias too: “Kuol Akol Wieu”. These are all names on accounts and on paperwork to hide his ownership from companies, which has gotten government contracts and funding over the years.

We know now that President Kiir isn’t worried about his inner circle eating of the plate of the state. When he appoints and promotes the likes of Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel. A man who has no trouble to take profits for ill-gotten services on the behalf of the government. That is who is entrusted the second in command and being in close association with the President.

If there would be more corruption and grand corruption in the future. We shouldn’t be surprised why state funds would be siphoned and gone missing. He has been able to do so over the years and now he has become a higher-ranking official than before.

Time will tell, but it’s not long ago since 2017 when he was sanctioned by the U.S. and therefore, we can not avoid the fact and knowing what he has done in the past. The Sentry has investigated him and for a reason. Nevertheless, his familiarity and closeness to Kiir is more important than stealing some money, apparently. Peace.

South Sudan: The Real Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (R-SPLM) – Resolution of Dismissal of Hon. Gen. Pagan Amum Okiech as Chairman, Commander-In-Chief, and Member, Dr. Akech Khoc Acting SG and Member of Real-SPLM (12.02.2025)

Opinion: Muhoozi wishes death on Besigye

“I hear KB is on hunger strike. Can he speed up the hunger strike so that he ends it? Uganda will be much better off without his stain” (…) “KB is a traitor, who never saved anybody in the bush. Nobody! All he has done was plot to kill my family since day one! He is going to pay for it” – General Muhoozi Kainerubaga (13.02.2025)

The ones believing the brute or the first son having any mercy. That ship must have sailed a long time ago. The Commander of the Défense Forces (CDF) and Senior Presidential Advisor, General Muhoozi Kainerubaga is again speaking of death.

Muhoozi is again wanting death on Dr. Kizza Besigye. Just mere days ago he wanted Besigye hanged. Now he hopes he dies in prison. That’s the message the General has for the public to hear. This is the brilliant man that Andrew Mwenda on the regular says is an oracle of wisdom. It is just mere brutality and a man who only has vengeance in his heart.

No one is shocked or in awe when seeing Muhoozi speaking ill of the opposition. We know that Besigye and KaBobi is living rent free in the mind of Muhoozi. Because deep down Muhoozi wishes he had the support and people behind him like he sees this leaders have.

Muhoozi wants to be loved and be a leader of the future. He wants to prove that he has the capability and ability to lead. Nevertheless, we are only seeing a mad man promoted and a brute who uses violence to get ahead. We are not seeing a leader of trust, sincere conscience or even ability to listen to the people. No, he rather kills the ones standing in his way.

Muhoozi trust weaponry and guns. Muhoozi trust the army and the authorities. That’s what he knows and what has given him power. Alas, that is wherein the problem remains too. As he hasn’t the character or the ability to go out of the fatigue.

The General lacks the attitude, self-esteem and personality to win people over. That’s why he needs bootlickers to guide him and make him different. Nevertheless, that is worthless when his brutality and his wishes of death comes out on the regular. When someone thinks his above the law and acts like that. There is little respect or honour to be given to him.

Muhoozi is continuing his path of destroying the opposition. He wants them all dead. The General wishes Besigye dead. A man he wanted to hang. He really wants to see in a casket and gone. That’s what he dreams off and looking forward too.

General Muhoozi is showing his vicious side. This isn’t a narrow side or a little outburst online. It is common part of him, because he releases these ideas on a semi-regular basis. That’s why we know this is who he is and what he believes in. He calls people criminals and bad men, but never comes with any proof. His saying Besigye has tried to ‘kill’ his family, but have no evidence of it. Just like the courts who has charged him for decades too. It is just practice of the first family and he follows the conducts of authorities of the republic. Therefore, we can take that with a grain of salt.

Alas, we are still seeing how detrimental Muhoozi is and what he has become. A man who wishes death and who gets positive energy by the demise of others. If that is your leader, expect more death, murder and torture. This man gets good vibes by seeing other people suffer. That’s who Muhoozi is, and he shows it to us. Peace.

Besigye behind bars for 86 days [on the 13th of February 2025] without proper trial as a civilian… and now on a hunger strike!

“Uganda Prisons Service right now has 79,390 prisoners and they are all entitled to food, shelter, and health. They are also supposed to access justice and Rtd Col Kizza Besigye is one of them. According to him, the people Dr Kizza Besigye trusts are the ones supposed to deliver food. Even in terms of preparation, he sees his food being prepared and accesses his food. I can assure you that if he started a hunger strike, that would be today after the instigation of maybe his lawyers who visited him yesterday but to the best of my knowledge, Dr Kizza Besigye has had all his meals in the past. Even where Dr Kizza Besigye’s health becomes a question, we have been working together with his doctor to make sure that we keep him safe. From 2005 to now, we have had several times with Dr Kizza Besigye, and every time he is with us, we have to make sure he survives” – Uganda Prisons Service Spokesperson Frank Baine (13.02.2025).

This case is just pending. The trial of Dr. Kizza Besigye and all the associates who are behind bars too. The case itself is at the Makindye General Court Martial as a civilian. That is questionable at best.

Now the weapons and treason charges are sidelined, as the opposition leader and activist are hurting behind bars. There is speculation of his health and weakening state. Besigye is becoming older and has had terrible treatment for years. He has stood tall, but his not a young man anymore. His an older fellow who is hurting behind bars. That’s who he is and his a resilient man, but his body could easily get fatigued and weakened without proper treatment. That is just natural…

Besigye should get medical treatment and be in a health care facility before it is too late. There is a need to do so. Now that the lawyers and people representing Besigye says he needs that. The Prison Services and the authorities should allow him to get that and be in reach of health care. That isn’t something the Prison Services are providing or capable of doing. Therefore, if they value the life of Besigye. They should act upon it now before its to late.

This here is worrying, as the state of Besigye is worsening. The letter to court earlier in this week is a reminder of how bad it is. Because Besigye is usually attending the courts and the cases pending. Therefore, we know things are grim when he didn’t come to the court. That’s why the Prison Services should reflect on that and consider that…

Besigye needs help and the authorities needs to. That’s if they hold life dear and if they care about the ones they have in their custody. It is time to medevac and get him help. So, he can return to himself and be the strong man we have known for decades now. Peace.

Tanzania: Lissu’s warning to the CCM

When we say ‘no reform, no election,’ we mean that if the necessary electoral changes are not implemented, we will do everything in our power to prevent this year’s general election from proceeding. This is not about boycotting the election—we will not boycott it. Instead, we will go to the people of Tanzania, the international community, and the world to declare that if CCM and its government refuse to institute reforms for a free and fair election, then this election must not take place at all. That is the true meaning of ‘no reform, no election” – Tundu Lissu (12.02.2025).

The ones in-charge and in office most likely won’t adhere to or listen to the leader of CHADEMA, Tundu Lissu. Not that its expected that the Chama Cha Mapundzi (CCM) are listening to any others than themselves. We know they have already made laws that monitors and controls the political, media and civic space. The amendments of laws and legislation of recent years has just ensured and ensnared the abilities of the opposition to operate without prior notifications and go-ahead from the state. Therefore, Lissu’s words are important, but don’t expect them to do any magic.

The CCM isn’t interested in reforms or electoral reforms for that matter. If it is in the eyes of the CCM. Another election is just a procedure for them. CHADEMA know this too. They know it perfectly well.

No one should expect the CCM to actively reform the up-coming election. That isn’t in their interests. Even if everyone knows the game is rigged and the CCM is just steam-walking to another victory. Meanwhile, the will of the people aren’t really there and doesn’t really matter. As the CCM has ensured their ballots and gamed the system. Therefore, the CHADEMA is destined to loose and the CCM continues to prosper. That’s the game and we all know it.

The 2025 elections won’t be any different from the 2020 ones. It is the same people behind the election and the stakes are practically the similar. The CCM aren’t bothered or concerned about these pleas. Tundu Lissu is right about it, but his speaking to the void. The CCM has only made amendments and legislation that has benefited them.

The ones believing the CCM wants to change or make things free and fair is dreaming. There is no reason for the CCM to make that happen. The CCM already have everything, they have the instruments of the state and the authorities behind them. The CCM has everything to lose and why would they risk it?

CHADEMA an Lissu is right, but the gist of the matter is that the CCM won’t care. They have no reason too. They have nothing to gain from it. There is no incentive and no real argument for the CCM to do it. They are winning and regardless of the outcry or the demonstrations coming after. The CCM can contain it and isn’t worried of a revolution. No, they aren’t afraid of the people or their possible ramifications of doing so. That’s because the CCM has everything and they won’t budge on that. Peace.

Zimbabwe: The Republic where the call of “a final push” is a felony

“We are now ready to deliver the final push, a push that needs all of us to face the odds and birth a new country. We are going to give you a clearer signal soon, it will come before 20:30 hours at night so that we end this 2030 business” – Blessed Geza (11.02.2025)

It is apparently a dark night and far from early morning sun. This isn’t the time to smell the coffee. No, it is time to await the next morning and prepare for a new dawn. As nothing is changing and the ones in office are preparing to linger in office.

A War Veteran is now causing tension, as his expelled from the party, ZANU-PF and is now in legal jeopardy. That’s because he dares to challenge the President and his elite. That’s what his doing and its deliberate too.

It is really telling that the Zimbabwe Republican Police (ZRP) is saying his arrested for auto-theft, inciting to violence and insulting the President. That would have never happened if he remained silent or didn’t speak up. However, his addressing this heads-on and that’s why his getting the authorities on his tail.

If you thought this regime is forgiving or giving way. No, they are just as vicious as the predecessors and misusing power to undermine the dissidents. That’s what this ZANU-PF is busy with doing. The war veteran must have seen what has happened to others over the years.

Blessed Geza is just using his platform and his voice of reason. Something that is daring the authorities, which is now retaliating at him. That’s because his speaking the truth. President Mnangagwa and his team don’t want to hear this. They are just supposed to accept it and let the system go as ‘normal’.

ZANU-PF is just supposed to steer the conversation and ensure the longevity of the rulers. They need excuses and arguments of which fits the President. That’s why Geza is dissenting and distorting the message. The war veteran should remain silent… and he didn’t and that’s why his targeted now.

It is 20:30 at night and we just have to await another morning. However, we shouldn’t expect it come fast. As this is a silent and slow night. We cannot await another morning, but don’t expect it to happen soon. Mnangagwa and the likes doesn’t want this day to end. Peace.
