RDC: Twirwaneho – Alerte Urgente sur des Attaques Coordonnees contre la Population Civile Banyamulenge dans les Territoires de Fizi et Itombwe (25.06.2025)

Yesterday’s protests nationwide have proven a test for the Kenya Kwanza government and President William Ruto. As the #SiriNiNumbers and protests for the fallen heroes of last years demonstrations was powerful yesterday.
The Gen Z and such shows they don’t need a big-man or have a political platform to be able to gather. They are so tired and angry, as they are able collectively to answer the authorities and the state. That is a sign of deep grievances and lack of trust in the government, which represents them.
The youth and the citizens on the streets dared to go there. Even if the soldiers, the authorities, the hired goons and even the assassins could easily be triggered. There are already reports of 15 fatalities and I expect these numbers to rise, as it was up to 50 people who lost their lives last year. Meanwhile, the reports of over 400 people hurt and needing medical treatment. That’s telling of how the government operates…
The usage of live-bullets, tear-gas and other ways of tarnishing the demonstrations. They blocked roads and tried to sway the activists from entering or even trying to convene. That’s what the state did, and they answered peaceful citizens who was demonstrating. Meanwhile, we know the state and other political actors has hired goons to destroy, deplete and create anarchy. That they can blame on the activists and the citizenry who went onto the streets. That’s why they will be blamed for looting shops, burning police stations and whatnot. That’s what the government needs to do. Just to clean their hands of violence and police brutality against unarmed civilians on the streets.
So, now we are supposed feel bad for the business owners and the property damage. Nevertheless, the same government won’t relent on using brutality, violence and even extra judicial killings. Neither had it any trouble to kidnap and try to silence organizers ahead of the demonstrations in the republic. Therefore, the authorities are trying to convey one message, but at the same time downplaying the plights, suffering and the loss of life.
The #SiriNiNumbers of the 25th June of 2025 has proven the outrage and lingering anger within the citizens. They aren’t trusting this government or the Head of State. These people are just showing this sentiment and did so across the Republic. That should show what is possibly coming and now the Gen Z knows they can do it again. The youth and activists can turn it up again. When you see the video clips and see how filled the streets where with people. That’s telling how popular this demonstration was and how the people was willing to participate in it.
The so-called “Broad-Based” Government aren’t it. The UDA, Kenya Kwanza and ODM Cabinet Secretaries haven’t created a more trustworthy atmosphere or even delivered better government services. The state isn’t there for the people and they doesn’t even value life. That’s why people die in custody and the officers are allowed to use “kill-shots” on unarmed civilians. The officers are walking free, but citizens aren’t getting defended. That’s why the citizens aren’t trusting the government and rightfully so.
Ruto and his government has now gotten a notice. The Gen Z and the People have now shown their character. They have now spoken, and they have momentum. It is their turn, and they are the ones that is deciding the next steps. This demonstration shows what the state does and how it operates. They should be investigated and answer for the plights it’s serving the communities. As people are losing their lives for just showing up on the streets. It shouldn’t cost their lives to protest. They shouldn’t worry about tomorrow… just for demonstrating against injustice and impunity.
This is William Ruto’s Kenya and this is his legacy. Peace.

“Celebrations erupted in court among supporters & family members of Dr. Kizza Besigye & Hajj Obeid Lutale following a ruling by Nakawa Chief Magistrate Christine Nantege declaring that the court no longer has jurisdiction over their case after it was committed to the High Court. The decision came after the defense lawyers filed an application requesting the magistrate to recuse herself from the matter. The duo, who have been in jail for seven months, are facing treason charges” (97.8 Kazo FM Omushomesa, 26.06.2025).
You can’t’ celebrate 7 months behind bars or 223 days incarcerated without a proper trial or due process, as his sent between the courts, but nothing is finalized. They are just charging, amending the charges and changing the narratives, but the man is still in legal jeopardy.
The authorities and the state haven’t proved anything. Their allegations and criminal conspiracy haven’t been tested in any way. No, nothing has been showed to the public or any sort of evidence. Neither has any witness or any proof of criminal actions occurred in the courts. That’s why this is a political prosecution without any sort true or sincere acts from the state.
Dr. Kizza Besigye and associates are just feeling the pinch. The state is trying to break him and silence him. That’s why they are using the law and the courts against him. They are criminalizing his life and his political activism. That’s why they are targeting Besigye… and we can all see it.
This is political prosecution and weaponizing the judiciary against the “enemies” of the Head of State. They are just doing it and for one reason. Besigye has felt this his whole career, and we have seen it, again and again.
Just imagine that his now been behind bars for 7 months on remand. There has been nothing changing, except for who has jurisdiction and rights to try him. We can just await the next part of the journey. As they could sooner or later make the case return to the General Court Martial, as the President has assented the UPDF Amendment Act of 2025. Therefore, Besigye is far from out of legal trouble.
No, he will return to the High Court, and they could easily defer him to the GCM in Makindye. That’s what I am awaiting, because I don’t trust or have any faith in the judiciary in the Republic. Peace.
