Niger: Cadre de lutte contre Derives du Niger (C.D.N) – Communique (11.09.2025)

A call for justice from the “Builders’ Pact.” The organization expresses its deep outrage at this latest military operation by the Mahamat Kaka regime, targeting the people of Tibesti, particularly in Miski.
As the press release emphasizes, the objective is not security, but the plundering of mineral resources. This mafia-like system deprives Chadians of their own resources.
The Builders’ Pact offers its full and unconditional support to the people of Tibesti and the self-defense committees who are courageously resisting this injustice. They call for solidarity to make the voices of the resistance heard.
It is our duty to support those who are fighting for dignity and to ensure that Chad’s wealth benefits all its children.
We call for the organization of actions of support and #Solidarity to make the voices of the #Resistors in #Tibesti heard.

It has been 17 days since Sam Mugumya was abducted and taken away by the authorities in Mbarara. Since then, there haven’t been a voice or a visible vision of the individual in question. The activist and opposition leader, Sam Mugumya who is vying office in 2026 as Member of Parliament in the General Election in 2026.
Mugumya knows the torment and knows the pains of challenging the system. He has been here before, but it is still dire for him. We don’t know who has him and where they are keeping him. He was supposed to be produced in Court after the Habeas Corpus application was denied yesterday and adjourned to 19th September 2026. Sam Mugumya was supposed to be produced in Courts during this week, but instead his kept in a dungeon for another week.
They want to keep him for month without any trial, due process or possible justification to keep him detained. That’s what the state does and how they operate. The ones believing in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) or President Museveni. This is how they act and weaponizing the judicial system against its detractors.
Sam Mugumya could be anyone of us. Sam is another civilian captured, and they are taking his liberties away. We have no idea of the possible torture, harm or punitive action they are doing against him. It isn’t anything new of the state to torture or damage an incarcerated person. Just to prove their power… and what they are capable of.
He can be in a safe-house or wherever, but Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) acts like it doesn’t know. They claim they have no idea where Sam Mugumya is. We can rest assure that the Uganda Police Force (UPF) or any other entity doesn’t know too, but someone does. As someone ordered to kidnap, abduct and keep him detained. Sam Mugumya didn’t lose his freedom without someone giving the order to take it away from him. That’s a given and we all should know that.
Sam Mugumya isn’t alone in this. There are plenty more prisoners of conscience in the Republic. He is just one of plenty, who is suffering, because they dare to challenge the ones in power. Peace.

“I also want to tell the country that my arrest was precipitated, facilitated by Kabaziguruka Michael — the person I’m contesting against. He works for security, he is a security operative and he is aware of whatever is happening to me. Michael Kabaziguruka” – NUP deputy spokesperson Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro (10.09.2025)
The Deputy Spokesperson of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro was abducted and detained by the authorities yesterday. Today the authorities produced him to court and changed the man. These sorts of actions are happening rapidly and with swift force, as the NUP is targeted of the opposition and as the biggest opposition party. Even as the ills of abductions, kidnappings and misuse of force on civilians like this. I still have to call him out on his nonsense.
Michael Kabaziguruka has nothing to do with the incarceration or charges pinned on Mufumbiro. That’s nonsense, as Kabaziguruka has been though the trials and tribulations himself. His a man who nearly lost his life for the cause and he couldn’t really serve as a Member of Parliament for months. Because of how the state targeted him and his candidacy. When you know that history and know what he went through. A man like that would never use any sort of time or will to haunt others. Seriously, I’m sure Michael wouldn’t sleep at night if he did that to anyone else. Since he knows it by heart and his soul wouldn’t rest.
That’s why the NUP Deputy Spokesman should focus on the state and the ones whose really harming him. Not imaginary tales and ghosts of Christmas Past. That’s really showing the foolishness and selling narratives that isn’t true. A candidate for the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) having the power or finesse to get him abducted and charged in court is bogus. When the PFF cannot even save their first member and leader Dr. Kizza Besigye. So, please Mr. Mufumbiro where are you taking these conspiracy theories from?
Thin air most likely and using it for personal gains. This is a man who instead of targeting and going after the culprits are creating enemies. Instead of looking into or having the NUP investigate the matters. His instead going after a fellow opposition and a fellow man of the struggle. That should be the lesson here. That’s what Museveni wants and he wants wangles between the opposition and the forces against him. This is playing into his games and what he wants to achieve. Because, then the NUP and PFF are to busy bickering, instead of working against him and his National Resistance Movement (NRM).
I doubt Mr. Mufumbiro is clever enough to see that one coming. If he was clever or smart, he would allege these things or say it even. If he wants sympathy for his case, well, he isn’t getting it by pinning another innocent civilian. I am concerned about him being a prisoner of conscience, but I don’t like what he said about Kabaziguruka.
Let’s be honest here… who wins on this? Neither of the ones are winning. Everyone is losing, except for the third party looking onto it. The NUP is looking dumb and the PFF is made mockery of. Therefore, the NRM is getting ahead and the NUP Deputy Spokesperson talked hogwash for everyone to see.
Mufumbiro could have spoken sense and been driven by a just cause. However, he chose another path, which is only self-destructive. This isn’t building a case, but instead just causing more harm. A man of his stature should understand that, but I am sure he doesn’t grasp the implications himself. Kabaziguruka deserves better and so does Mufumbiro too. Peace.
