Ethiopia: Eskinder Nega calls for a continued war in Tigray

In the first press conference since his release from prison. Party Leader of Balderas Eskinder Nega has called for total extermination of Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) and continue the warfare in Tigray region.

He has dismissed the forced stopping of advances of the Tripartite Alliance in Tigray region. As well, as the Ethiopian National Defence Force (ENDF) not moving forward from Alamata. Therefore, the Balderas party head is closer aligned with NaMA, than others within the political sphere.

We know the ENDF have continued to use drones in the Tigray region, as they have not moved troops or mechanical units further into the region. In Western Tigray the Amhara Para-Military Group “Fano” has continued it’s rampage and campaigns with Eritrean Defence Forces (EDF). These has not slowed down. Therefore, the Balderas party leader is calling for extermination of the TPLF and total war in Tigray. That’s his mission and this is why his displeased with the recent actions, which ironically lead to his release from prison as well.

It is clear that Nega is aligned with NaMA and Ezema at this point. They are ready and want to fiercely get rid of their mortal enemy. These parties doesn’t want the war to end and real talks to happen. They are already mentally ready to annihilate and use all force to silence them. That’s the sort of drive they have and it’s very obvious.

Eskinder Nega have been a political prisoner, but shows that Balderas could just have been a distant cousin of NaMA or former Amhara Democratic Party (ADP). Nega wants war and this is his cry for it. As he haven’t seen it or been part of it. He has been behind bars and have only heard reports, if even that.

It shows that his a warmonger and a possible war-lord himself. As he calls to quit the ceasefire and stopping of direct combat between the Tigray Defence Force and the ENDF. He wants total war and a final end of the TPLF leadership as well. That’s his mission and his truth.

It shows that it isn’t only a sentiment in the fascists of Amhara, but also elsewhere where the hatred and the mentality to destroy is alive. As the Balderas and Nega wants it too. He wants more bloodshed, more suffering and continue the plights of the Tigrayan people. Instead of trying to find common means to an end. He wants to wage war and end his enemies.

That the sort of leader Nega is and it shows. Balderas and NaMA should just forge an politicial union. They have the same ideals and it’s evident by now. It’s disgraceful that this is the first message Eskinder Nega delivers to the public. However, it just shows his heart or lack of thereof, as his only interested at furthering his own gains by the possible sacrifices of others. Peace.

Opinion: Have the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lost 160 vehicles in the last few years?

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Gen Jeje Odongo is appearing before the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament to answer different questions raised by the committee. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised concern over the poor state of fleet vehicle for transporting dignitaries. According to PS Vincent Bagiire, the Ministry is using old fleet from the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which are “Nolonger fit for purpose” (Parliament of Uganda, 13.01.2022).

When reading this from the Parliament of Uganda handle on Twitter. I was boggled, because it was only last year when the Chinese Ambassador in Uganda handed over 70 vehicles to then Minister of Foreign Affairs Sam Kuteesa. That happened in the end of March ahead of summits, which was supposed to be held later in the year. The Chinese government spent 5 millions United States Dollars on these SUVs last year.

Therefore, when Gen. Odongo says the Foreign Ministry has “ancient” cars from the CHOGM summit. The state also bought another additional 80 vehicles ahead of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) in 2020. Therefore, the Ministry and the state should have vehicles in their car-lot. They have not only bought these 80, but gotten donated another additional 70 cars in the year after.

It seems to be the time to re-issue the statement from the Auditor General Report of 2021:

Furthermore, I observed that 38 entities (76.0%) out of the 50 entities did not have a specific policy or guidelines on Motor vehicle management to guide the usage and eliminate theft, losses, wastage and misuse of motor vehicles. This was in addition to the absence of a comprehensive standardized fleet management policy of Government. Different aspects of government vehicles management are found in different policies and guidelines cited in various government documents, such as; the Uganda Public Service Standing Orders 2010, the Public Procurement and Disposal Act, 2014, and Treasury Instructions, 2017. This affects the entities’ ability to address the unique motor vehicle management challenges which may not be envisaged in the standing Orders and Treasury Instructions” (OAG February 2021).

So, it seems like the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no control or policy in concern to their car park. They are one of these entities with no management of the car park. That is very clear by Odongo’s statement. As it is easy to see the Ministry have purchased and gotten donated in total 160 vehicles or cars in the last three years alone. The state and the Ministry be able to keep it up and general up-keep.

Unless, the state has suddenly issued these for others and given them to other state affiliates like appointed district officials or whatnot. That’s how it looks like to me. Because, how do you base you vehicle-park on CHOGM in 2022. When your own Ministry have bought vehicles ahead of the CPC and donated from China the year later?

Are there no accountability for the ministry and could Sam, the man just drive away with all of these to the sun-set and sell them on a car-lot in Mbarara? Because, what happened to all of them or they given to the former Ministers employees at Entebbe International Airport?

Since, cars cannot vanish, unless it is part of a Hollywood script or a car lost at a plot forgotten by the state. In such a manner of which, Mobutu had hidden vehicles and his administration held vehicles in foreign missions, which years later was found in forgotten garage abroad. Therefore, is that the issue of the Ministry in Uganda too?

Because, how do you loose 160 vehicles in the time span of about 3 years? Peace.

Opinion: Mao is clearly not an alternative

It is important that they do that because it looks like these days the football game is played in our half only of the opposition; instead of the half of the National Resistance Movement. It is a big weakness that we have got to deal with! What is the role of an opposition? An opposition should present itself as an alternative government, not just as hecklers”Norbert Mao (Jeff Andrew Lule – ‘Mao to opposition: Stop just being hecklers’ 12.01.2022, New Vision).

The Democratic Party President Norbert Mao is yet again speaking his peace in 2022. He has been the Party President for ages and has little to nothing to show from it. There haven’t been any progression or movement of which proves his relevancy. His only viable because of NBS Frontline appearances and feeding of the plate of IPOD. Therefore, Mao can call things out… but his voice isn’t that viable at this point.

He is a heckler himself and isn’t a figure who inspires, neither is his party a vehicle or a place of vision. No, the DP seems to be a platform for easy access and hopefuls who doesn’t have to challenge anyone. That is how it seems, as Mao is to friendly and to mellow to compete with full force ahead. That’s why the DP and Mao isn’t feared or under scrutiny like other opposition parties. This is maybe why others have left and reorganized elsewhere, where the futures and the possibilities to be viable was more clear.

Mao might not say that, as his blamed Besigye in the past and called him a serial looser. Though, Mao has a worse results and lacking of deliver in comparison. Even Bobi Wine with lesser time and ability to build up a party has achieved more than he has done for over a decade. That should be a warning of his withering role in national politics.

Instead of building a strong and a viable party. It looks more like a paid goofy role of Mao to be in the spotlight. It is not like he has close associates or party leaders who can gain the trust of which the ones who left recently. He might say the party is healthy and dandy, but for who? Him? Is it his domain now and what will leave behind?

The DP haven’t proven itself as a possible answer in the 2011, 2016 or in 2021. No, the DP couldn’t even make the DP Block as a unified visionary group within the opposition. It wasn’t even good enough for newcomers of Muntu and Bobi Wine to be part of. Heck, Mao was last time sidelined by NRM member Amama Mbabazi for the Presidency with the Go Forward Pressure Group within the Opposition Alliance The Democratic Alliance (TDA). Therefore, he cannot even pass as a man of the nation and should settle for MP for Gulu Municipality. That’s where his base is and where he has any hopes of high ranking official position in the Republic.

Mao calling others hecklers, because they don’t follow his guise and the way he purposely moves around with no end in sight. He speaks of being an alternative, but his not even an alternative to himself. Mao cannot even stomach to regain any sort of stature or position, which the NRM would fear or look after. His too peaceful and never does say or bother the state. If he did, he wouldn’t be soda at the police station and be left of the hook so easily. That’s why his just a mediocre leader with lack of enthusiasm. He doesn’t have the charisma or the message to spellbound anyone.

That’s why the academic Mao is a failure, but has to throw shade elsewhere. Just so his securing himself and looks wise. However, this is only backfiring since he has nothing to deliver himself. His a shell of a politician and with time the promise, which he had has withered. There is nothing left, but empty promises and a party of which the promising characters has left as well.

That’s why Mao couldn’t keep Mpuuga, Nambooze or Lukwago. There was nothing left for them to stay or be associated with. The DP Party and DP President couldn’t give them or serve them a purpose. That’s why they fled and sought out other pastures, which they have resolved their needs. Therefore, Mao is proven not to able to sustain the leaders of the opposition within his own organization.

So, at this very point… he is becoming the heckler and the noise-maker without any justification. As he has nothing to prove for his time and work. He only has a name and opportunity to show up on National TV, now and then. Peace.

Sudan: Sudan Central Doctors Committee – Peace is our motto (13.01.2022)

The coup authority, through its security apparatus and the remnants of the former regime, is trying to formulate a deceitful discourse about the non-peacefulness of the valiant Sudanese revolution. And the attempts to stifle the peaceful processions of our people and their millions with violence so that the putschists have reasons to shed more blood for the sons and daughters.

The Sudanese people, and they are machinations that do not miss the acumen of the revolutionaries, and outdated manuscripts that our people have preserved well and will not fall victim to them.

The glorious December revolution that dazzled every follower and made every writer unable to tell its stories, and was celebrated by all humanity with its prominent title in its corners and the foreheads of its righteous sons who believe in its goals.

And the inevitability of it reaching its goal, undoubtedly, the secret behind that is that peace is the inherent feature of it, the peace that turned the guns of the revolutionaries back and their machine of repression, their shame and shame before the world, and it is the same peace that triumphed before with the fall of the head of their ousted regime and continues to bring down tyrants and tyrants, peace is stronger than all. Their arsenals are the most powerful weapon against what they are planning.

Our revolution will remain a broad title of peace that will be studied by human history for times to come, and its virgin nucleus is the Sudanese man with all his ancient history of peace and peace. All attempts to imprint it with what is not in it will not detract from the fact that it is an iota of peace.

In light of the openness of the world and the careful monitoring of the violations of the coup machine of repression that committed major crimes against humanity, we are confident that these lies will inevitably not go beyond the circle of the mercenaries of the fallen regime.

Lesotho: Not a safe place for lawyers…

A prominent lawyer, Advocate Kabelo Letuka, is in hiding fearing the police will torture him like they allegedly did last night to his colleague, Advocate Napo Mafaesa, who has been admitted to a hospital. Mafaesa was arrested after his client who was also arrested & tortured by police said he has left his unlicensed gun with Mafaesa. Mafaesa is admitted in Hospital for grievous bodily harm” (Lesotho The Post, 12.01.2022).

The Kingdom of Lesotho is now going after Advocate Napo Mafaesa has been tortured and arrested by the authorities. We know it is severe when another colleague Adv. Kabelo Letuka is in hiding. This mean this practice isn’t against one man or his cause. No, this is most likely systemic, as another fears for his life as well.

Both lawyers have faced legal jeopardy before and had cases of severity against them. Still, nothing has hit the wall. Therefore, the state is clearly aiming at them. That’s is evident, as both lawyers have been held in contempt and been charged for strangulation and murder in the past. So, it is not like the state haven’t tried to take these two down plus additional lawyers too.

For some reason the state is going after them. This is really tragic and a worrying signs, as lawyers and attorney’s are the ones who defend people in court. They are retained and do their work to help their clients. Therefore, going after them… is showing the bad side of Lesotho right now. Peace.
