Somalia: Puntland Government of Somalia – Press Statement (14.01.2022)

We knew the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) was a fragile alliance or coalition. It is based on meal-ticket politicians who are forging their cards ahead of the up-coming election this year. This is the former CORD-NASA Co-Principals and additional Gideon Moi. These characters are well known and been in politics for so long.
These are familiar faces and they have been side-kicks for other Presidential Flagbearers and been viable for other parties in the past. They are now leaders of their own parties and wants to “kings” on their own. That’s why these are all huge egos and wants to finally succeed.
This is not only mattering Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka who has now become the front-runner and is technically ahead of the rest of the pack. The others are awaiting their place and who will deputize him. This being Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula or Gideon Moi. All of these are either left in the dark or not calculated in the joint tickets prepared right now.
It is not like these four gentlemen will have heavy campaign or be viable in a race together with Raila Odinga or William Ruto. They know they are the sidebar and the side-show to these two. OKA knows this and the whole Kenya knows that as well. This is why there is a no worries in concern to these gentlemen. Sooner or later they will find their home and settle outside OKA.
The OKA Technical Committee have maybe settled with Kalonzo as a Presidential Flag-Bearer, but he will maybe run alone on the OKA ticket. As we can wonder if Moi, Wetangula or Mudavadi feels betrayed or left behind. As the OKA today announced them as second fiddle or not at viable after all. That’s disappointing for them, but also humiliating. As we can expect all of them to be Presidential Flag-Bearers in their own rights, but not everyone sees that or thinks its feasible.
This might be the death-stroke and the slow-death of OKA as a unit. As the personal priorities and self-belief counters the shallow unity of this coalition. We knew these gentlemen are tired of being in the shadow of Baba or Odinga. They have run on a ticket with him and that gave them little to nothing for the two last elections.
Now, the OKA was a new unit from these misfits who hasn’t found a steady home. The OKA will dismantle… and don’t expect this coalition to live long. Unless, it will a mediocre outfit with only a few parties, as the ones left behind on the tickets will seek greener pastures. Because, these men aren’t in out of principals, but they are in it for advancement of their own career. They have been to long fishing for an office or a high ranking official position. That is what they are seeking now too.
Since, running as the Presidential Candidate in OKA is a futile enterprise. That will not deliver any hope or become a popular candidate over night. Neither has any of the leaders within the coalition ability to spread a message or galvanize voters across the Republic. They are already well known and shown their characters for the general public.
It is not like Moi or Wetangula can sprint to the finish line, neither like Mudavadi or Kalonzo can run a marathon. These people are just seeking the easiest way to prominence and hopefully a minister post in the next government. They are not able or have the parties to become real big-men. OKA Co-Principals needs a real leader and a viable one to cling-on too.
They wish they were better or had another amount of support. Their egos cannot manage the reality and it shows. I am awaiting the final blow and last presser of OKA. That is coming sooner or later. As Kalonzo might have unravelled the truth, which none of them really wanted to reveal. Therefore, the demise of OKA is because of egos and fragile leaders who doesn’t know their true place or ability. Peace.

Stocks of nutritionally fortified food for the treatment of malnourished children and women are now exhausted.
ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia, January 14, 2022 – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) today warned that its life-saving food assistance operations in northern Ethiopia are about to grind to a halt because intense fighting has blocked the passage of fuel and food.
The escalation of conflict across northern Ethiopia means that no WFP convoy has reached Mekelle since mid-December. Stocks of nutritionally fortified food for the treatment of malnourished children and women are now exhausted, and the last of WFP’s cereals, pulses and oil will be distributed next week.
“We’re now having to choose who goes hungry to prevent another from starving,” said Michael Dunford, WFP’s Regional Director for Eastern Africa.
“We need immediate guarantees from all parties to the conflict for safe and secure humanitarian corridors, via all routes, across northern Ethiopia. Humanitarian supplies are simply not flowing at the pace and scale needed. The lack of both food and fuel means we’ve only been able to reach 20% of those we should have in this latest distribution in Tigray. We’re on the edge of a humanitarian disaster.”
More than a year into the conflict in northern Ethiopia, an estimated 9.4 million people require humanitarian food assistance. This is an increase of 2.7 million from just four months ago, the highest number yet. At the same time, because of fighting, food distributions are at an all-time low.
WFP plans to reach 2.1 million people with food assistance in Tigray; 650,000 in Amhara; and 534,000 in Afar Region.
WFP also warns it will likely run out of food and nutrition supplies for millions of people across all of Ethiopia from next month due to an unprecedented lack of funding. WFP is calling for an additional US$337 million to deliver its emergency food assistance response in Northern Ethiopia and US$170 million to reach those affected by severe drought in Somali region over the next six months.

“Senior Resident Magistrate Wanangwa Nyirenda has given bail to social media activist Joshua Chisa Mbele. He was arrested for publishing defamatory words towards Malawi Defence Force Commander Vincent Nundwe. According to the charges, Chisa Mbele alleged that Nundwe benefitted K4 billion from various dealings with Zuneith Sattar. His lawyer, Gilbert Khonyongwa, says they are applying for a constitutional review of the charges” (Reported by Audrey Kapalamula – Time 360 Malawi, 14.01.2022).
That the wheeler-dealer and businessman Zuneith Sattar is entangling ministers and associates of the President in Malawi is very concerning, as it seems like he has made a possible State Capture case. In a similar fashion of the Gupta’s in South Africa during the reign of Zuma. Now, the Tonse Alliance and its ministers are under hard scrutiny, because of the alleged association and deals done with Sattar.
Sattar have clearly done his work and cut deals with various of ministers, as his money and influence has ensured him a gateway to profits in Malawi. There are promises of leaks and documents concerning corruption tomorrow. That will clearly implicate more people and it is possible all the way to the top.
The Attorney General and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) will have the work cut for them, as the state and its high-ranking official will be implicated in shady backroom deals. Which are done by using their authority and influence as ministers etc. That shows that the Sattar can compromise and get his way by doling a few coins the representative’s way. He can cover some debts and some bills, while he gets supreme possibilities as a merchant and a businessman in the Republic.
We know already that Kezzie Msukwa is implicated and with the arrest of Mbele, something is up with Nundwe and we can wonder who else have been paid-in-full and paid-to-play by Sattar in the Tonse Alliance. Since these sorts of things doesn’t happen out of nowhere, but for a reason.
Either to get land, tenders or favourable agreements, which benefits the companies of Sattar, and the state officials get some kickbacks in return. Therefore, the whole deal become beneficial, and everyone involved earns a small fortune on it. That’s how these enterprises are moving and it’s evident by now.
The AG and ACB will not be to involve, as if it moves to further investigate and follow the money. They might go even further and possibly implicate the head of state, as he could also get some free-money and serve as a client for Sattar. Since everyone else and ministers has been implicated already. He had to know about it and the President would benefit financially, by participating. That’s why there been a document saying the President got millions of dollars for his services. We must see, if that is true or not.
However, the Sattar cases is not over, and the truth will leak out. The corruption scandal will only become worse. As the greed and the easy money can always implicate the ones who is hungry. Peace.

Our rebellious people;
The forces of the brutal coup d’état have practiced today during their dealings with the peaceful processions of the honorable revolutionaries and revolutionaries during the thirteenth million, from January 2022 AD, the earthquake in the capital and the regions witnessed the worst practices of repression and abuse, as it used live bullets, heavy weapons, tear gas bombs, sound bombs and white weapons.
Marhaba imposed harassment and arrests of a number of journalists while covering today’s processions, in a miserable attempt to break the thorn in the escalating mass movement in which the broad front resisting the October 25 coup is organized. They are added to the record of the eternal tournaments that reflect the greatness of this people and the strength of their will, which is inevitably capable of defeating the putschists, the opportunists and the remnants of the former regime.
our proud people;
We in the Forces of Freedom and Change denounce the crimes committed by the forces of the vicious coup d’état against the unarmed demonstrators and demonstrators today, January 13, 2022 AD, and we have mercy on the soul of the martyr Al-Rih Muhammad, a member of the Khartoum Bahri Resistance Committees, who was assassinated by their treacherous bullets.
To join the 65 martyrs of the resistance to the coup, and we send our sincere prayers for a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured, and we will hold a press conference tomorrow, Friday, January 14, 2022 AD, in which we will discuss the development of field events in the January 13 procession and the positions of the forces of freedom and change in detail.
We also express our concern about the ambiguity surrounding the killing of a high-ranking police officer. We pray for his mercy. We affirm that our people, who have organized their glorious peaceful revolution for three years, do not need to prove their adherence to the values of the revolution and its peacefulness. And we categorically reject the attempts of the desperate coup authority to stigmatize the peaceful mass movement with violence through the use of flimsy pretexts and scandalous scenarios.
our brave people;
We also commend the Security Council’s resolutions on Sudan, and affirm that our country’s revolution is continuing and is committed to achieving its full goals. We also value the composure of the revolutionaries and revolutionaries from all segments of our people, and the solidity and peacefulness they have shown in expressing our people’s decision to eliminate the coup.
And we will march together, united, behind the same goals, until complete victory is declared.
Long live our people free and victorious

The occupying forces and militias affiliated with the military coup are now practicing massacres against the peaceful and defenseless revolutionaries in the cities and villages of Sudan, using live bullets, sound bombs and tear gas, and using their vehicles to run over with the purpose of killing and harming citizens. It also pursues them in the streets, uses sticks and batons to severely beat them, and arrests them randomly.
As a result of these heinous crimes, the soul of the martyr, the wind, Muhammad, rose from Al-Dium in the city of Bahri. We have mercy on his pure soul, and we offer our sincere condolences to his family, friends and companions.
There are also dozens of wounded and wounded in the three cities of the national capital, including critical injuries with live bullets. We appeal to doctors and other medical staff to go to hospitals and provide the services and medical care necessary to save the lives of the injured.
We also call on honorable lawyers to go to police stations and other detention centers of the occupation forces, to provide legal protection and to release revolutionaries and revolutionaries who are forcibly and randomly detained by these criminal forces.
We call upon the peace-loving and democracy-loving peoples and their organizations concerned with human rights to focus their attention on Sudan, and to monitor and condemn these horrific crimes committed by the military coup d’état and its militias against our defenseless people, except from its complete peacefulness and its reverent chant.
The revolution is a people’s revolution
The power and the revolution are all for the people
