Ethiopia: Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) & Freedom and Equality Party (FEP) – Press Release (10.05.2021)

We as friends of DDS (ONLF, FEP & Independent Candidates) after we saw the decision that the election committee of JDFI (NEBE) responded to the complaints of the political and independent candidates. The process and process of registering the election of the Somali region.
Although it is a good step that has been taken before, we prove that NEBE responded to our complaints that we are not satisfied with the reasons below:
1 The answer that NEBE gave does not represent the amount of problems that happened in the registration of the Somali region.
2 As clear as NEBE news we have given evidence including stolen cards, videos and photos from the polling booth that I believe could be full witnesses.
3 NEBE’s answer is summary of certain election places where we have submitted violations against the election rule that took place in all DDS.
4 The process of answering the complaints we have submitted to and the rest of the election shows that we can’t reach a quick solution.
So we are calling on the JDFI Electoral Commission (NEBE)
Considering the reasons above and short time that they will take a decision on the postponed registration in DDS and cancelled all the stolen registration cards.
If there is nothing to do about that issue, we will inform NEBE that we will take a decision that will reflect the interest of our people during this week because there is no situation to compete with the DDS election process.
ONLF, FEP and Banana Head Candidates.

South Africa: The Insight Factor – The Insight Factor rejects the African National Congress’ clumsy attempt to intimidate the channel and censor it (10.05.2021)

Opinion: Deo Akiiki, who is the new President?

“We, therefore, want to assure Ugandans that the country will be at peace as the new president is being sworn in” (Deo Akiiki, 10.05.2021).

Apparently, we are in for a shocker. As the opposition is either behind bars, house-arrested, abducted, kept incommunicado or tortured as well. The Defence Spokesperson Deo Akiiki is speaking out and promising a “new president” on the “d-day” or 12th May 2021.

Uganda has been waiting for a new President for ages. They have this one guy that never wants to leave office. The Republic has this one old man that seems to linger on forever. He seems to be busy burying his enemies. If not hoping he can compromise and corrupt the weak one among the opposition. That old man is the one who will have hold a massive ceremony again.

Still, Deo said this. He said it twice during his presser ahead of the Swearing-In.

The UPDF under the Joint Security architecture on national security has strengthened its support to civil authority as mandated by law in a bid to ensure that the country, the function of inauguration and swearing in of the new president is safe and secure for both nationals and international guests invited to grace the same” (Deo Akiiki, 10.05.2021).

We are all awaiting for the new president. There been several of candidates aiming for that since 1996, but none has been able to get there. The system, the authorities and the state itself have worked hard to make it impossible to happen. It is nearly impossible to even overturn or try to challenge a Presidential Election Petition. That’s because the state and the his handlers have made it nearly impossible to prove the rigging.

That’s why the people is awaiting a new president. Not rebranding the same old fella of 1986. He was new in the 1990s but we are 20 years from that even. Museveni isn’t new, but he has a new middle name since last election: Tibuhurwa. He always comes with a new name. That is why he has gone from Yoweri Musevei, to Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to the final Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni.

So, with every name-change… his still the same man who overthrow his predecessors in the 26th January 1986 coup d’etat after a long civil war. Therefore, Deo is promising a new president. Which we will not see. Not after this D-Day… no no no …. it is just the same old fellow from around the way. Not a new breed or the hope of the future. No, just the same old same old man who is using the army and the guns to stay in power.

Because Museveni isn’t anything new. He is the status quo and the continuation of the same. There isn’t anything he can do at this point. The old man cannot reinvent himself. He can only continue to lie to himself and deceive the whole Republic. President Museveni will not make a fundamental change now. That time has passed and he will not reconsider that now.

Therefore, we are all wondering who is the new President? Because it’s not Museveni. Neither is it Besigye since wasn’t running in January 2021. Maybe he is initially saying Bobi Wine should be sworn-in, but then his going against his master. Deo is maybe thinking that Museveni is “new” because of his new term. However, Museveni is far from new.

I will end with Matthew 9:17: “Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved” (New International Version).

The same can be said about Museveni. This lesson from the bible is relevant and maybe Deo should check it out too. Peace.

Scheduled Programming ahead of 12th May: Bobi Wine and Besigye is house arrested

Today, as its only two days to the Swearing-in on Kololo Independence Grounds. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Yoweri Tibuhurwa Kaguta Museveni is swearing-in himself in for the Seventh Time and for his 8th Unofficial Term.

So on the 10th May 2021 the authorities have sealed off the area around Magere, Wakiso District and entrenched National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine house. They have also stopped the trial of the Campaign Team arrested on the 30th December 2021. Who was supposed to be arraigned at the Court Martial again today. However, that never happened, but they are still lingering in jail without any sentencing or verdict.

Therefore, the President who was so proud of “winning” the last election in January 2021. Clearly, cannot be a proper victor when his opponent is house arrested with no charges, warrants or even any sort of trial. While his campaign team and closest associates are still behind bars. If you think that man is a winner of an election. You are a fool.

There is also reports that Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) former Presidential Candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye is under house arrest too in Kasangati, Wakiso district.

So, the state is doing what it does best. Not create a multi-party democracy, but besiege its enemies. The Museveni era is ending a blast of fanfare and bracelets. The NRM Way is this and that’s what they does. While sprinkling a little a bit of fear and delusion. That is why they will be banging on achievements of the old man and vilify these men on all platforms.

They will come with any excuses to keep their home guarded. Because, they want these men to able to spoil the grandeur of Museveni partying himself into his eight term. While the authorities are saying the idea of s parallel swearing-in is treasonous. Which is very ironic, when the current President has stolen an election and is practically doing what the authorities is saying is illegal.

Well… we knew this day was coming and the authorities is unforgiving. As they are not serving the Republic, but one old man. Peace.

No Fundamental Change: Museveni prepares himself for his eight term!

Do you want change or more of the same?”Amama Mbabazi (15 January 2016).

Soon is the day when President Yoweri Tiburhurwa Kaguta Museveni is swearing himself in again. Which he will have done 7 times and suspended one election before helding his first election in 1996. Still, here we are in 2021 and some people are counting down for his 12th May 2021 Ceremony at Kololo. However, we have all been here before and nothing is new under the sun.

After ruling the nation since 26th January 1986 there is nothing this man can do. He has done everything. He has pledged to fix anything possible and said what anyone should say. There is promises, lies and deceptions. The state can try to fix his track-record. Lie about his achievements, but we all know his not that great.

What is striking is that Museveni has nothing new create. His promises are more of the same. The President has gotten away with it and haven’t paid a price. There will be no further prosperous state. The state will not suddenly be able to stop the stagnation of the economy. Neither will this government create possibilities for businesses to thrive or even operate in. There will be little to nothing, which will change the current status quo.

The state of today is deprecating. The depleted parts of government, local government and such will just become worse. Schools will fall apart, hospitals will be trashed and the only thing that will get fresh funds is the military and the police force. The rest is left behind to suffer and just getting enough to keep it alive. They are all on the death-bed, but the medics have no equipment or medicine to help the patient.

The same state is more busy with hunting after opponents, opposition and activists. The state is more willing to wire-tap, monitor and follow them than actually open up the government. The state is more keen on arresting, silencing and stopping the opposition from forming proper parties, organizations or even bodies, which can challenge the current regime. Therefore, the President this term has no will to see a transition or changes on the political arena.

After 35 years there isn’t more to give. The old man is a tyrant and a dictator. He doesn’t value people and he doesn’t care about the state of affairs. His just willing to stay in office by any means. The state isn’t there to serve the public, but to serve a small elite.

The people shouldn’t expect anything. There will be new schemes, missing funds, more loans, lack of service delivery, grand corruption scandals and so fourth. They should be worried about extra judicial killings, rampant injustice and misuse of power. The state clearly doesn’t value the lives of the people or their liberty to associate with whoever they feel. The President and his allies can clearly use the authorities to knock down on anyone who oppose them. They can send officers, drones and keep people captured incommunicado for days, months and even years. This is done as an effort to keep the regime alive.

President Museveni has nothing new to offer… and why should he? He has gotten away with everything and there been no retribution for his performance. Museveni have been allowed to get away with murder, injustice and impunity. Why should that change in his 8th Term?

Sorry brother… but this old man will continue to kill, arrest and stop anyone in his way. That is the proper NRM way. That is the only way he knows and how he knows how to rule. This President will not serve the general public, but serve himself. Peace.

Ethiopia: Patriarch Abune Mathias I is house-arrested for addressing the Tigray conflict

It is today confirmed the Patriarch of Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC) his Holiness Abune Mathias I is put under house-arrest. That comes as he earlier this week was able to smuggle out a video addressing the Tripartite Alliance warfare in the Tigray Region. This have hurt the pride of the rulers in Addis Ababa. That’s why his been put under house-arrest and lost his liberty. Because, he dared to speak out on the injustice happening on the watch of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali. He dared to question the Prosperity Party and their allies. Their efforts to undermine and destroy the Tigray region. Those selected words was clearly enough and he now has to face the face the consequences for it.

Here is his words of wisdom:

God will have his own judgment in responding to these atrocities, but people are dying; women are being raped; in fact the men who died are better off than the women who are enduring a life time scar… I truly don’t know how this could be stopped” (…) “Stop this free reign of killing… This kind of cruelty has never been heard before, especially the suffering the women are going through. Is it really necessary to do this kind of dirty deed without the fear of God?” (…) “Churches around the world to see this and do their share to help stop, even by being a voice to this grotesque deed which is unseen and unheard around the world and which we can’t even dare to speak about… .there is no time I rested; my conscious is distraught. If my voice is heard, will it help? I want all of you to think about it. To the people of Tigray around the world and in the country, this may pass; may God give you the strength, there is nothing that shall not pass… don’t be overrun by fear and anxiety. Pray to your God” – Holiness Abune Mathias I the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC) – (Addis Standard – ‘Ethiopian Orthodox Patriarch Says War in Tigray ‘Barbarism’ and ‘Attempt to Erase Tigrayans’; Says His Repeated Pleas ‘Censored’ 08.05.2021).

These words are tough to read. The ones watching the clip, which was released much be even harder. To see a man of such stature and office say these things. When has to come out and state the dire facts. Than you know the Republic is in trouble. When he has to pay a price for even saying it. That says even more about the rulers.

When the reformists and the supposed men of peace in Addis Ababa is making him a criminal and a prisoner in his own home. When the state is limiting his space, his movement and his voice. Just because he dared to speak out. You just know the situation is dangerous and the ones in-charge doesn’t value liberty, justice or freedom of speech. No, they are just concerned with their egos and realms of power.

Prime Minister Abiy and his men cannot save themselves anymore. They have gone after political opponents… and activists. Now they are going after anyone who dares to oppose them. They are even shielding and arresting clergy. That says more about Abiy than it says about Holiness Abune Mathias I. He just spoke his peace… and said what needed to be said. That shouldn’t be a crime, but clearly is now seen as violation in Ethiopia.

This is showing the failures of the state and how oppressive it is. Also, that it got to have some truths in it. If it wasn’t truthful or taken seriously. He wouldn’t be a prisoner in his own home. Peace.

#FixMotherGhana: “Everyday for thief man, one day for master”

Countrymen, the task ahead is great indeed, and heavy is the responsibility; and yet it is a noble and glorious challenge – a challenge which calls for the courage to dream, the courage to believe, the courage to dare, the courage to do, the courage to envision, the courage to fight, the courage to work, the courage to achieve – to achieve the highest excellencies and the fullest greatness of man. Dare we ask for more in life? ” President Kwame Nkrumah address to the National Assembly. 12 June 1965

These days, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo cannot catch a breath… heck he doesn’t have a moment of silence. The people are willing to riot and demonstrate. They are tired of been taken for a ride. A political elite not seeing them and not meeting their needs. Accra and other places are seeing this.

Ghana is burning. Ghana is tired and most of all. Ghana seems like it is tired of taken for granted. To have selfish leaders who only fix things for themselves and their operatives, but doesn’t serve the general public. A political class who has forgotten the lessons of Kwame Nkrumah. These have to be revisited to achieve what is long forgotten.

Not to forget the passion of M.Anifest on Burna Boy’s ‘Another Story’ which was released in 2019, where he said these wise words:

Same shit, Ghana, Naija, man tire

Stuck in traffic I dey hate delay

Big man get the motorcade, big Benz and the Escalade

Hustle just dey escalate

But March 6, we go celebrate

Every year be the same cock and bull

Propaganda you dey push no dey pull

E dey pain, people tire for this matter

Everyday for thief man, one day for master” – (M.Anifest, 2019).

That sentiment is felt in Ghana these days too. The same sort of neglect and feeling of being forgotten by the ones representing you. Where you feel nothing is happening and that’s why the citizens are pleading to fix it.

The demands is very clear, but shows the lack of progress. They are asking for the water to run in their taps. Not just work on the water-cannons of the Ghana Police vehicles. Fix Dumsor, fix the roads, fix the education system and fix the health care system. They are coming with demands, which shows a lack of care and use of resources. Still, the same state have fresh new from the boat police vehicles and other equipment to crack-down on demonstrations. That just shows how mismanaged their priorities are…

President Akufo-Addo have been smart in the past. He knows which words to say and get positive publicity. However, now the state is clearly mismanaged and the people are tired of it all. Economic Fighters League have been on this front-line a long time without much or any support. Now the #FixThisCountry and #FixMotherGhana is catching fire. Which is good, because they are fighting the same cause.

The indifference and the lack of care for citizens. While a political elite and their associates are living large. The economy was dead before the global pandemic, but it did expose it. Showing the lack of concern or care from the government. The NDC-NPP have controlled and switched power, but with no real change. They have just changed chairs and called it a day.

Now the youth, the citizens are crying and shredding tears. They are saying: enough. It is time for the people in power to listen. Not only order the police vehicles in the streets. Having press conferences stating facts and coming with propaganda. No, it is time to work and fix it all. The duopoly rulers have had their time and clearly not used it properly. Because, if they did.. they wouldn’t be here today. Peace.
