Tchad: Samuel Eto’o appointed as “Goodwill Ambassador”

The Transitional Military Council and interim President General Mahamat Kaka Déby Itno have yesterday decreed several of appointments of ambassadors and other high ranking officials. One of the ones who has been hand-picked by the General was Cameroonian Football Samuel Eto’o. Who was appointed to a “Goodwill Ambassador” or ambassadeur itinérants.

The footballer have supported dictator and President for Life Paul Biya in the recent election. Said people should support a “champion” and a “unifier” like him. That was said as the bloodshed was happening in the anglophone region ahead of the election in 2018. An conflict that is persisting to this day.

Eto’o has also been able to get an journalist arrested for spreading rumours about his love-life. Which was easily accessible information from a Calgari Court, which stated what was said by the journalist. Therefore, Eto’o could use his influence and support of the authorities in November 2018 to get another citizen behind bars for spreading information, which was accessible online. That says something about his ego and mentality.

Now he has gotten more political capital, as N’Djamena and the TMC there is validating him. They are giving him an honorary role. So he can continue boost his ego. This is also using his name, which known across the continent and well-known in Europe as well.

Eto’o have had a career all over Europe in big teams. He has played in the big tournaments representing winners, winning titles and creating history on the pitch. Played in England, Spain, Italy, Russia and Turkey. He has retired for a few years now, but still been in the headlines.

Now he will represent the leadership of the Son-of-the-former-President. He will be serving a General and a junta. An unelected government and their decrees. We already knows that he supports one dictator and bashes in the influence he has there. Clearly he wants the same elsewhere. A role like this will be favourable for him.

General Kaka will be able to hold gatherings with Eto’o and use his popularity. That’s why his appointed in the first place. To use his stature and get clout currency. Get the popular footballer to give him credibility and support from outsiders. This is to legitimize the military takeover and coup d’etat. Just like when he appointed the runner-up to become the Prime Minister.

Gen. Kaka does this deliberately and with plan. This is to make strides and gain civilian support. So, that he can show these people in his circle and re-gain some sort standing outside the military that got him there.

Eto’o will be used by another leader who uses armies to stay in power. Instead of in Cameroon, this time its in Tchad. That’s the reality of this and his willing to serve men who takes power by guns. He will be token soldier with a fancy title serving Gen. Kaka. Peace.

Opinion: The Crocodile’s reign will only end in tears

There was celebrations in Harare when the President for Life, Robert Mugabe was toppled in November 2017. However, since then there been little to celebrate. The same junta have been in-office, except for a few allies of Mugabe has lost their offices.

The new President Emmerson Mnangagwa aka the Crocodile promised a “New Dispensation”. The 2nd Republic was supposed to be different. The election, the massacre on the streets of Harare and everything else happening since. Is just showing that the junta haven’t changed, except for wearing scarfs and coming out with more colourful statements. The state is still pursuing the same objectives and things are not getting better.

Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) under the joint leadership of Mnangagwa and Constantino Chiwenga haven’t delivered anything substantial different than what was occurring during the Mugabe era. No, they are actually doing the same, but in a manner, which is even more flamboyant.

The leaders are now blatant with arresting on charges not existing in law. They are detaining people for protesting for any reason. There are misuse of power and even deliberate actions to use “opposition” parties as pawns to get reforms and constitutional changes through Parliament. The regime is using all means to gets its way and they have willing servants across the political spectrum doing so.

They don’t care if they are messing up tenders, creating scandals and misusing funds. They can illegal sell gold, import shoddy and overprices farm equipment and seek to get kickbacks on state owned enterprises. The state can misuse its power over the currency, never stagnate the inflation or devalue the currency. The junta doesn’t care and they are willing to do this.

This is the Lacoste fraction and they like living lavish. They don’t need to be accountable and God knows which ministry next-up for a scandal. Mnangagwa will not sack or axe anyone with sincere heart. They will be reappointed elsewhere and find them shelter in a new office. The ones can create fuzz, cause headache and cause a stir. However, if these men are parts of the clan. They will get away with it and there is no need to be held to account. That is something the state does with its enemies, but not with itself.

The Movement for Democratic Change – Alliance have been assaulted in favour of the “opposition” Movement for Democratic Change Tsvangirai. This has been in a fashion through the courts, in parliament and elsewhere. Where MDC-T have gotten favours, by earning the MDC-Alliance MPs slots, positions in local government and even their headquarters. The MDC-T have even gotten the political stimulus, which was designated to the MDC-Alliance. While the MDC-T is working indirectly and for the causes of the ZANU-PF. Therefore, the junta have a naked soul and blind opposition working in tandem with them. While they have sidelines the MDC-Alliance.

That is who things are looking. While instead of focusing on the dire needs, the distress of the state and fixing all the wrecked issues in this term. The state have targeted the sanctions and not stopped with the things, which is reason for the sanctions in the first place. The stopping of civil society, the attacks on media freedom and liberty of the opposition political parties. The state use of authority to silence activists and political operatives.

Mnangagwa have no interest now to care or do anything. He has gotten away with murder, atrocities and scandals his whole career. The President and his comrades are used to have no difficulty to get away from issues. The state will just handle it and make it stop. There is no need for investigations or even check-ups. The victims are civilians and not made men. Therefore, their suffering doesn’t really matter.

Mnangagwa knows this and he can easily transition. He can take a decomposing corpse of the previous President Mugabe and plan to move away from the Heroes Acres. That is the sort of fella he is and wants to avenge the former first family. That’s because he can and he knows he can get away with it.

President Mnangagwa can do whatever, the civil servants can strike and complain, but it will amount to much about nothing. The junta in Harare can skate by and drink their cocktails. While people cannot afford their meals. They are used to this and easily enjoy the perks of power. They have the army behind them and the army veterans too.

The moment the army turns on Mnangagwa and Chiwenga. They will be left behind like the ones close to Mugabe and G-40 fraction as well. They will be terminated and go into exile. Mnangagwa did that a short while before returning to become next in-line. Therefore, he should suspect this could happen to him. When the ones eating is dissatisfied with the current plate and want some additional pastries too.

Mnangagwa has no plan of serving the public. He rather let the Herald and other publications write nice articles, but we all know its all a lie. The state doesn’t serve the general public or the citizens as a whole. It is just awaiting its turn to eat and the next scheme to gain wealth from. There is nothing new under the sun. Just more of the same. The looting, depleting and inept administration will continue. The cronyism and the nepotism will persist, the grand corruption and the injustice will be further served. As long as Mnangagwa rules supreme. He will not start to care now.

The crocodile have gotten away with murder since the 1980s and he have no interests in answering to these crimes at this day and age. He doesn’t care if the deceased are never found and the families are never getting peace. As long as he drives a fancy car, eats posh food and can enjoy the lavish life in Harare. The President and his men has no plan to stop or try another path. This is the golden path and its paved in gold.

While his eating like there is no tomorrow. The rest will bury their sons, the daughters and the ones they care for the most. The state will not be there and these folks are just forgotten. The pain and suffering will continue. Mnangagwa will make the citizens cry and he will not console them. The President will just marsh on and he will not change his ways now. That is long gone and there is not hope of changing the ZANU-PF.

The ZANU-PF will continue to act like the ZANU-PF. There will not be swift reforms or changes, they will only continue to seek more quick gratification and gain more power. That is what they do and the citizens will see that it end in tears. Peace.

Opinion: Kagame better carry his weight for his proxy wars in the DRC

there were no crimes [in eastern DR Congo] – not by the individuals talked about or by the countries talked about” – President Paul Kagame (17.05.2021)

Let’s be perfectly clear and blunt. Rwandese President Paul Kagame is a warlord and should be known for that. His career like his former ally President Yoweri Kaguta Musevei have both been made out of bloodshed, death and destruction. Both ways to rise to power and get into office came through the barrel of the gun. It is not like these gentlemen won in a free and fair election. No, they took power and never left.

These gentlemen rose to power by the use of force, arms and heavy-weaponry. These folks used guerrilla tactics and was partners in crime. The two president was allies and part of a hierarchy for so long. Until they had a fallout. They participated in several wars, twice liberating themselves and conducting proxy wars inside the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Therefore, Kagame is fully aware and knows the game his been playing.

Kagame has supported several of outfits, Rwandan inspired and ensured militias have capacity to run regions to export minerals like gold and other valuable assets from the Eastern part of the DRC. He can act a fool, but we know the former Intelligence Officer knows better. ‘Pilato’ isn’t that you?

Just to prove my point of his and his countries misgivings in the DRC. There been books on this and explaining in detail, but here is just mere details to give some short insight to matter at hand.

Source 1:

Paul Kagame, the U.S.-backed warlord and dictator of Rwanda, last week accused France and Belgium of complicity in the mass killings in his country 20 years ago. It is true that France and Belgium, along with Britain, Spain, Portugal, Italy, The Netherlands, Denmark and Germany, are collectively responsible for the extermination of hundreds of millions – of whole peoples – all across the globe. However, in the case of the Rwanda genocide of 1994, the main criminals are Paul Kagame, himself, and his allies in neighboring Uganda and in the United States. After the frenzy of killing was done, U.S. President Bill Clinton and Ugandan strongman Yoweri Museveni then joined with Kagame to launch a war against the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo that has claimed six million lives – the greatest genocide, by far, since World War Two” (Glen Ford – ‘Kagame and the murder of millions in Congo and Rwanda’ 24,04.2014, Pambazuka.org).

Source 2:

But Kagame’s facade is certainly in jeopardy with the expected distribution of a 508-page report detailing 600 violent events that took place in the DRC between March 1993 and June 2003. The leaked report, compiled from more than 1,000 primary documents and 1,000 eyewitness accounts, maintains that Rwandan forces, under the leadership of Kagame, aggressively pursued the genocidaires. More controversially the report alleged that the Rwandans also killed innocent women, children and ethnic Hutu during this pursuit — seemingly without concern for their actual political affiliations or behavior. In this characterization, the Rwandans are not unbiased, effective military saviors, but bloodthirsty killers on the hunt for revenge and riches” (Christian Davenport – ‘Opinion: Leaked UN report gives critical view of Paul Kagame’ 19.09.2010, Global Post).

I am sure plenty of generals, lieutenants and other military commanders since 1993 could explain the actions made in the DRC on the behalf of Kagame. Kagame knew perfectly well what was happening and what his nation contributed of atrocities, massacres and genocide too. He knows about the looting, the destruction and the devastation of several of provinces in the DRC. That is knowledge that Kagame has and he has profited from.

General Kagame have earned fortunes on the sinister actions done in the DRC. He has sent his proxy soldiers into the DRC and extracted valuable minerals and other commodities, which has enriched himself and others in Kigali. That is just a mere fact and it has been profitable. It has ensured a grand living and prosperous times for him.

That is why it’s really something else reading that he claims no crimes was committed in the DRC. Who is he kidding here? He is lucky that he has gotten away with it to this day. While smaller militia leaders and other involved have been on trial and charged at the International Criminal Court (ICC). However, he has been off the hook and never been properly served.

Kagame should answer for the crimes committed. The lives taken, the ones hurt and severely damaged for life. So many have been scorn and torn apart because of greed and barbarism. The Rwandese General can act like it doesn’t matter, but that further proves his discontent with the victims and the ones who lost their loved ones in this. Because Paul Kagame knows what happened and what went down. He knows about the proxy armies, the militias and other outfits, which he has supported with logistics, arms and other needed equipment.

The Rwandese President know about the warfare, the conflict and the illicit trade, which he has been a benefactor from. He knows all of this and his been eating of the DRC plate, as long as I can remember. He doesn’t value the DRC as a friendly neighbour, but as business-operation for him to benefit from. While the costs are burdened on the local population and the Kinshasa government. That is what is occurs on the regular and he thinks he can get away with it. Which is sickening and borderline offensive.

Kagame and his allies should answer for their crimes in the DRC. All of the years with pain, heartache and destruction should have a price. He shouldn’t be free, but instead be busy addressing atrocities happening on his watch. Peace.

Opinion: Beyene Petros is the proof that even professors isn’t always that smart…

It is confusing to call for a ceasefire in the absence of war” (…) “The call for ceasefire indicates that TPLF is still fighting and that the government is at war in Tigray region” (…) “It is in the process of taking measures on illegal groups and hunting them down” – Professor Beyene Petros, President of the Ethiopian Social Democratic Party (ESDP) and Deputy Director of the Institute for Policy Studies, Addis Standard & Ethiopian Press Agency (EPA), 21.05.2021).

Well, this Tigray conflict is really showing the sinister and evil sign of men. Professor Beyene Petros is no difference. He is now an ally of the administration in Addis Ababa. Another token supporter and a mouth-piece for them. I don’t know for what reason, but he got to get something for his words and actions. People tend to do these things for a reason and not without any sort of positive package coming their way.

It is really insane that a man is saying there is no warfare in the Tigray Region. When it’s not long ago. When the Prime Minister Ahmed Ali Abiy said the government was fighting on 8 fronts. The Ethiopian National Defence Force (ENDF), Eritrean Defence Force (EDF) and Amhara Para-Military Group “Fano” was involved in fighting the Tigray Defence Force (TDF). Alas, we are just supposed to forget that.

Also, there is a telling. That he says this. As there are so many who are starving, internally displaced, exiled and massacred. There are so many indications of war and this man is bluntly saying in his place of peace. That the war doesn’t exists.

This is outrageous and obnoxious that someone can utter these words. As the warfare is persisting to this day. That has been happening on the steady since early November 2020. The deaths, murders, the victims and the innocent who has died, because of the conflict.

Still, the old professor is saying it is inactive. How disgraceful isn’t that to all the folks who has died? To all the people who has suffered, who are suffering and who are lingering on the edge of starvation. What redeeming factor does the Professor have for them?

Well, he got none and surely his pay-off must be sweet. Hope it tastes of honey, smell of roses and limited edition exports of grandeur, which the ordinary man never can afford. Because, his surely serving the cause of Addis Ababa and Asmara. They are both giddy at this and they have a token buddy on their side.

It is like the fatalities, the destroyed villages, hospitals, factories and so on. Is just a distant memory. The looting, the rapes and the murders are water-under-bridge. Who needs to know about that… when you have masterminds like the professor dismissing it.

Who cares if there been plenty of divisions from two armies coming to aide of the state fighting TDF and the TPLF. Right? They are just fighting in an non-existing conflict, which people are dying from too. These people are dying natural deaths for no apparent reason. People are raped for no apparent reason. Society is broken down, local government twisted to pieces and the region is suffering for no apparent reason.

How foolish are you Mr. Professor? What do take people for? The bullets are singing and their song is “murder”. What are you thinking?

No conflict, therefore, no need for ceasefire. Who are you kidding? The dead will not speak out, but we the living got too. Since this is just fools errand and I hope he got the bag. I hope this old man got his hefty pension and perks to infinity. Because, there is no other way he can reason in such a manner. This is not common sense.

You are not sending armies, para-military groups and using these sorts of tactics and not called warfare. Warfare is a part of war. This is civil war and not a police operation catching a chicken thief. No, this is a mechanical and a tactical war. Which was supposed to be ended in late November after a few weeks, but is still on-going to this day.

The state will have to suffer the consequences of it for decades and a generation who was scorned will never forget the ills the Addis Ababa administration put them through. They will be torn and scorn for life. That is because of the will of power and to keep everyone under the spell of one man. He could not co-exist without the former allies in Mekelle. That’s why he had to destroy them and the blunt cost of that was the total destruction of the whole Tigray region. Which the Professor claims is “peaceful” or without war.

Professor Beyene Petros better get his mind right. He needs it. There is too many bad reports and proof of warfare. He just want to be a voice in support and get brownie-points with the leadership. Clearly he have gotten that today. However, his name will also be in upper-echelon of ridicule, as we all know this is a bogus attempt of whitewashing the war. Peace.
