Opinion: Papa Don has the Republican party by the balls

Now that the Second Impeachment Trial is underway in the Senate. The second time former President Donald J. “Papa Don” Trump is impeached by the state. His no longer in office, but its still as important to go through the evidence and the actions made. As there is a need for transparency and accountability for the insurrection. The foiled coup attempt of Papa Don should still have consequences.

The Republican Senators cannot get off the hook either. As they are calling it “unconstitutional” as it happens when the former President is golfing in Florida. That is not any different than from his Presidency. This is something he used a lot of time … when he was office too. However, the Republican Senate and former Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell delayed the Impeachment Process so the GOP could use this argument. That doesn’t legitimize it, but only proves their dishonesty.

It is not strange the GOP and Republicans are caving in. They need the MAGA crowds to stay relevant. To have any hope for their God forsaken careers. These folks doesn’t have spines or character to stand in ethical debate. These folks only there to tarnish Democratic Representatives and Senators. These folks would hunt down Hilary Clinton for Benghazi and convict her if they could. However, there will be no accountability or retribution towards the ones who caused the havoc, devastation and tried to overturn the election on the 6th January 2021.

For a party of “Law and Order” there is little that proves that in 2021. No, they are the party of headless chickens following Papa Don. They are the lonely tin-soldiers abiding the personification of Trump. All of them doesn’t have the moral equation or belief of the Constitution. Neither, do they have the ability to grasp their lacking concern of punitive measures towards the dangers in the Republic.

These folks rather stand side-by-side with the men and woman wanted them hanged on the 6th January 2021. These folks rather be in cahoots with white supremacists and fascists who only see the leadership of Papa Don. They don’t see any honour in law or rule of law. No, these folks are only in it for career and power. These folks doesn’t care about justice or liberty. No, their place is for a bigger gain for themselves and by being loyal to their leader. That is how it seems.

That is why they are voting in defence for the leader who wanted them punished for certifying the electoral college and victory for Joe Biden. This is just the sad reality, as so many of them voted against the certification itself. These folks rather die on the hill of Trump. Either by his incitement or by being bullied to be his token men in the chambers of power. That says how little the oath means and what principals they are supposed to abide by.

The Democratic Senators will vote for the impeachment. Not because Papa Don is a Republican, but because of what he did and what the Republican counterpart planned ahead of the 6th January 2021. There are even Republican senators that was in on that day and they should also held accountable. The former President isn’t the only one. All the others from Alex Jones, Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley. All of them needs to answer, heck Roger Stone and whatnot who participated should answer for what they did. Papa Don is the head, but he needed his minions to make it happen.

Papa Don needs to be impeached and done so by trial. I doubt it will happen, because the Republican rather be loyal to the throne, then being a party of moral superiority. The “Law and Order” is now the party of “Disorder and Dishonesty”. They can put laws and regulations on others, procedures and policies, but they shall never abide to those themselves. Especially not the 2021 Republican party. They are used to be above the law and have no consequences to them. That is why they hope for more of that and get left of the hook. However, if this was made by the other side in their reign by their men. It would have been a bloody battlefield where the Democrats would have been buried yesterday. Peace.

Ethiopia: USCRI Statement Calling for an Independent United Nations Investigation into the Disappearance of Refugees from the Tigray Region of Ethiopia (10.02.2021)

The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) is an international non-governmental organization that has advocated for the human rights of refugees and immigrants for 110 years. USCRI is gravely concerned about the United Nations’ report that 20,000 Eritrean refugees from the refugee camps in the Tigray region of Ethiopia have disappeared and cannot be found. There is strong evidence that some of the missing have been detained, killed, or forcibly repatriated to Eritrea in violation of international refugee law. USCRI calls for an immediate independent United Nations investigation into these disappearances.

Until November of 2020, the Hitsats and Shimelba refugee camps in northern Tigray were home to over 25,000 refugees from Eritrea. After the Ethiopian government launched a military offensive against the Tigray Regional Government in November, about 4,000 of these refugees fled to other camps in southern Tigray. The rest— over 20,000 people— are unaccounted for, and the UN believes they are dispersed in areas to which it does not have access. Credible accounts indicate that at least some of the missing are in critical danger, as refugees have reported that armed actors infiltrated the camps, killed, raped and abducted people, and Eritrean troops have forced some of the refugees back to Eritrea.

Satellite imagery from the Hitsats and Shimelba camps indicates that the camps were systematically destroyed by military forces over a two-month period, although it is unclear whether the destruction was caused by Eritrea’s military or Ethiopia’s. The Ethiopian government has denied the presence of Eritrean forces in Tigray, despite reports that they are “everywhere” in the region. In addition to forced repatriations by Eritrea, in December the Ethiopian government began returning fleeing Eritrean refugees back to the camps in Tigray, causing international concern for their safety.

The Ethiopian government has also prohibited journalists and humanitarian actors, including the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR), from accessing the Hitsats and Shimelba refugee camps to investigate the situation or provide humanitarian aid. This has led to grave concerns for the wellbeing of the refugees still living in the camps. When Ethiopia finally granted access to the Mai-Aini and Adi-Harush refugee camps in southern Tigray in January, UNHCR found refugees in need of food and other necessities.

Ethiopia is a party to both the 1951 UN Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees (Refugee Convention) and the 1967 UN Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees. Article 33 of the Convention requires that states adhere to the principle of “non-refoulement,” that no state “shall expel or return… a refugee against his or her will, in any manner whatsoever, to the frontiers of territories where his life or freedom would be threatened on account of his race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group or political opinion.” Ethiopia must prevent the forced repatriation of Eritrean refugees from Ethiopia. The government must also commit to not returning refugees to the camps in Tigray, where they will be susceptible to abduction and forced repatriation.

Article 35 of the Refugee Convention and Article II of the Protocol require states to cooperate with UNHCR to allow it to respond to refugee crises. The Ethiopian government has clearly violated this provision by withholding access to Tigray. USCRI calls on the Ethiopian government to provide immediate and unfettered access to Tigray for UNHCR, other humanitarian aid and human rights organizations, and journalists.

“USCRI demands accountability of the Ethiopian and Eritrean governments for the lives of the 20,000 disappeared refugees. Both countries must commit to upholding the rights of refugees under the Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol. As such, USCRI urges the United Nations to immediately open an independent investigation into these disappearances,” said Eskinder Negash, president and CEO of USCRI.

Opinion: Oboth Oboth kissed the ring

The Budama West legislator, Jacob Marksons Oboth Oboth has proposed that the term should be elevated from the present day 5 years to at least 7 years so that the incumbent president Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni can have a ‘honourable’ retirement. In his views, Oboth says ‘Museveni has done a lot of sacrifices for the country and therefore he must be rewarded.’” (Emmanuel Busingye – ’NRM MP tables bill that gifts Museveni 7 year term’ 09.02.2021, Ekyooto.co.uk).

There is always someone who goes another mile to be a supporter of the cause. It is has been made motions praising the President. There been people who has used any means to worship the President. Now, Oboth Oboth MP wants to revise the changes of the Presidential Term for someone who has ruled for 35 years and that means needs 42 years in total in his eyes.

President Museveni doesn’t deserve credit or being rewarded. He came into office with nothing and is richer than God by now. His family and himself owns several of businesses. The whole clan is enriched on his time in office. It is not like the Kaguta’s or any other part of his clan was wealthy. No, he got upper echeloned and gotten massive wealth for himself. It is not like Yoseri was rich before he got into Presidency. If he says so, it is a lie and he has forgotten about his true roots.

That is why its weird to award this man more. Give him more time in office. When he has been in office since 1986. Didn’t have elections for a decade and didn’t have multi-party elections before 2006 after two referendums. So, this man has done what he could to be the sole man on throne. There has never been any context where he has really planned to step down. He has promised a few times to step down, but that has been insincere promises, which wasn’t written in stone.

Now, the MP wants to give him two more years. Because 2028 is such sweeter than 2026. Not like 40 years is enough to finish his mission. Whatever that mission is at this point. Unless, it is enslave the next generation and show them how the predecessors did violate human rights, serve injustice and brutally rule over the Republic. Because, if that is the point of his reign at this point. Then his succeeding perfectly with kidnappings, abductions and arbitrary arrests in the Republic. Also, the sudden deaths and tortured individuals by the state security organizations. A man who needs to do that to own citizens doesn’t deserve to be awarded. A man who orders that deserves to be punished by law and answer for the injustice served on the daily. He doesn’t deserve statutes or praise.

Oboth Oboth is only a crony and hope for a pay-check. He hopes Museveni see him and can give him a plum-job. Become an appointee with a title and allowances. Making this motion now that it was dismissed by the Constitutional Court after Age Limit vote was supposed to do the same. Now, he wants to do something unconstitutional and done to get personal favours.

Oboth Oboth MP hope you will enjoy to linked to Museveni like Magyezi. This is a private motion in favour of the President. That is why he hopes for envelopes and get accredited by the State House. It is nothing else to this…

President Museveni doesn’t deserve to be awarded. He has already taken way to much for his station. Not only wealth, but lives. He has taken so much from so many, which he one day has to answer for. If not in Court of Men, but hopefully to the almighty God in Eternity. Peace

Ethiopia: Government approves ‘first step’ towards Tigray emergency assistance (09.02.2021)

Around 60 more humanitarian workers from the UN and non governmental organizations are awaiting approval in the capital Addis Ababa for deployment to Tigray.

NEW YORK, United States of America, February 9, 2021 – UN agencies have received approval from the Ethiopian Government for 25 international staff to provide humanitarian assistance inside the country’s conflict-torn Tigray region, the UN Spokesperson said on Monday.

“This clearance is a first step towards ensuring that aid workers in Tigray can deliver and ramp up the response given the rapidly rising needs in the region”, Stéphane Dujarric told journalists at the daily press briefing.

He recalled a number of positive engagements between the Government and senior UN officials, including with Filippo Grandi, High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Gilles Michaud chief of UN Safety and Security and most recently, David Beasley, Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP).

“Mr. Beasley has just wrapped up a trip to Ethiopia and he says that WFP has accepted the Government’s request to help authorities and aid partners transport aid into and within Tigray”, informed Mr. Dujarric.

Moreover, WFP has also agreed to provide emergency food aid for up to one million people in Tigray.

The conflict between the Government and regional forces of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) began in early November, when the Prime Minister ordered a military offensive after rebels attacked a federal army base. Government forces reported that the region had been secured at the end of November, but TPLF resistance has continued amid accusations of extrajudicial killings and rights abuses.

Escalating humanitarian needs

Meanwhile, around 60 more humanitarian workers from the UN and non-governmental organizations are awaiting approval in the capital Addis Ababa for deployment to Tigray.

They also look forward to rapid authorizations for any further requests put forward.

“While we welcome these clearances, we remain deeply concerned about the significant escalation in humanitarian needs in Tigray, where people have endured more than three months of conflict with extremely limited assistance”, said the UN spokesperson.

He also expressed unease over continued reports of grave violations against civilians.

“We reiterate our call for the full resumption of free and unconditional access for humanitarian supplies and personnel to the Tigray region”, Mr. Dujarric said, adding that it should include “blanket clearances” for organizations operating in the area, “so that we can immediately reach all the people in need with all the assistance they urgently require”.
