Opinion: Birigwa should join Muntu [and if you don’t, opt for ‘Plan B’]

Birigwa stressed the need to continuously engage President Yoweri Museveni in a discourse on the future of the country” (…) “We need a negotiated settlement with the Government, without fighting” – Wassawa Birigwa (Jeff Andrew Lule – ‘FDC’s Birigwa wants dialogue with museveni’

16.09.2020)

I don’t know about you, but it seems like Wassawa Birigwa better leave the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC). The man sounds like another edition of Mugisha Muntu. The FDC Presidential Contender should act and have a more hostile stance. His a bit to peaceful.

Birigwa sounds like a bargain for Museveni. It seems like Birigwa haven’t learned from dialogue and negotiations with Museveni. In the end, Museveni will win. He will trick you, give you credit and dole out gifts. However, in the end you will loose.

Birigwa is playing a game he will not win. Wassawa is talking so softly and pragmatic that he seems to be in the wrong party. He should maybe switch to the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT). Because, if he believes in a negotiated deal with the NRM. He seems like a brother in arms with Muntu.

The FDC is the ‘Plan B’ and Defiance party. That is why the Mwenda’s and others are directly hostile. They are damaging the calm of the elites and the cronies. The one earning millions of shillings on impunity. They despise the FDC and the whole paradigm shift on weakening the government before a peaceful transition. Using civil disobedience and protest to get rid of the government. That means, no talks, but direct action to hurt the heart of power.

Alas, Birigwa seems to be on a crash course on this one. He is going head-to-head. This man could be the side-kick of Muntu. Especially sound like that. That is giving way to the man of 34 years. The one who duped the Nairobi Talks, tricked others and made a fool of other former heads of state.

Museveni will not be soft, he will sound smooth, but we stab you in your back when your not looking. That is what he does and Birigwa should know this.

That is why the idea alone should be buried and forgotten. It will not happen and will amount to no good. Unless, he wants to get a new deal to be Leader of Opposition in Parliament and get some millions shillings for the service.

Birigwa don’t need to engage Museveni. The FDC and the Presidential Candidates needs to challenge him. They need to aim at his heart, go directly at the things the President treasure and ensure he can loose it all. Not sweet talk and be a sweetheart. That will work in romcoms, but not in reality.

Birigwa this is weak tea. This will not work. Negotiate with Museveni is a lost cause. There is nothing to get there. He will get rid of you and ensure your fate. You will go missing and will not be found. If not end up in exile. There be no safe journey if you tries. Museveni will not give away power. The power he has held all of these years. That’s not happening.

To be clear, better sign up to ‘Plan B’, better start to listen to Besigye, because this is not it. If you believe it? Go to Muntu, his the pragmatic non-starter and the one for the future of the Christmas past. Peace.

Ethiopia: Abiy holding an election now… [that will be a charade]

The Prosperity Party and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali must think people dumb, stupid or dumb. They must think the majority of the people are fools. People who cannot think or grasp their game. As the Minister of Health proclaimed today, that the state can hold elections, as long as they abide the guideline and principals for health and COVID-19/Coronavirus. Alas, we knew all of that already. Lia Tadessa and the PM just running their ploy on us.

This is happening on the 18th September, just mere days and close to two weeks since the Regional Government of Tigray held a local and peaceful election on the 9th September 2020. That is why today is really not it.

The Prime Minister, his Council of Ministers and House of Federation must really think the public is ignorant and lack understanding about their political craft. These people in power think they can run a scheme like this. Now, that they have just a minute ago dismissed the Tigray. Saying it wasn’t conducted in the right spirit and they claimed it was unconstitutional. While the postponement of the August elections was unconstitutional. They had baseless accusations against the Tigray and didn’t have the ability to counter.

That is why the Prime Minister and his team had to swiftly change. The Tigray Election in September 2020 humiliated him. He wants to be the all powerful and in control. That’s why having an election now is in bad spirit too. As his main competitors are behind bars. The opposition are all detained and being political prisoners. There are violence, oppression and harsh brutalities. People are dying, civilians arrested and people gone missing too.

The Prosperity Party isn’t interested in a democratic, free and fair election. Because, if they held that. There would be regional parties on ethnic lines that would win and not the Prosperity Party. The party of the PM would loose in major regions, as they are used to seeing the forces of the federal government coming with guns and ammo. They are not coming with development, work or opportunities. That the Federal Government hopes the foreign donors and NGOs will cover for them.

This here is just shady. If they think this is smart. It is not. They used the COVID-19 or the Coronavirus as an excuse, but was undermined by the Tigray. Where they held an election and that one backfired. When they defied the HoF and the Prime Minister. They proven that it is possible and are able to hold elections during the pandemic. It was just a smokescreen for the PM. Who was a afraid that people doesn’t really love him or fear him enough.

Since, he has gone on rampage in Oromia, he has gone after the other dissidents too. In Ogaden the crisis has continued. There are sparks of violence, state sponsored violence towards citizens on the regular. While activists, opposition leaders and others are detained. They are most likely behind bars when the elections are happening. The parties and allies within the opposition will maybe barred from being on the ballot.

Prime Minister Abiy have used the tyranny card. He has used his power and ability to consolidate power, suspend elections, send his enemies to either the gallows or behind bars. While awaiting a silent moment to unleash his pre-rigged elections. Because, if all his enemies and opponents are behind bars. His own hand-picked leaders can be ushered in and he can have slim-pickings and “Yes-Men” in office.

The Prosperity Party and Prime Minister takes the people for fools, but they should know better. The PM and his party trying rig a charade… where they have the upper-hand before the polls starts and prepared the victory long ahead. That is why its happening now…. It is deliberate and it is for a reason.

I doubt the Prime Minister will release his opponents and run against them. He rather have them behind bars until its over. So, that the can bash in glory and be crowned king. Since, he wasn’t voted by the public, but hand-picked himself. Now, he will ensure his “voted on” by the means, which is all under his control. Peace.

Opinion: I expect that the NUP have to walk on water…

There would no other party, no other opposition party, which would go through so much pain and suffering. Than the party of Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. That was to be anticipated ahead of the 2021 General Elections. All the soldiers are out, all the security organizations and the intelligence are watching.

The National Unity Platform (NUP), the former dead-in-the-water party that was resurrected by the People Power Movement (PPM), as they knew damn well that the Electoral Commission wouldn’t allow or accept a PPM registration. That is why the PPM together with its team took over the NUP and the body work. Re-issued a delegation conference last year and settled the score. Got verified by the Electoral Commission and the rest is history.

However, now the former Party President and such are retaliating, because of he relevance and because the state is going after them. The former NUP leadership is now haunted, because they sold and delegated the party to the People Power Movement. They are now in trouble and pushing to pursuit the new leadership of the party too. That’s what is happening.

Am I shocked? No, was this to be anticipated? Yes. Since, at gun-point, as being frightened and ambushed to change. Suddenly, the moves of last year isn’t that golden. The soldiers and police officers are abducting and assaulting the previous leadership. Just like it does to mobilizers of the NUP across the Republic. They are arrested and silenced too. There is no difference there.

Only difference, is that the former leadership is coming with claims and trying to justify to take away the new leadership. Just mere months ahead of the election. Trying to sow doubt and erase the Bobi Wine infused party. The NUP wouldn’t be relevant if it wasn’t for him and the ones around him. The original leadership couldn’t even become LCV Chairmen in their constituency.

That’s why this is forged game by the state. As they were tricked to accept the changes last year and didn’t see the scheme behind their nose. They accepted the changes and was shocked at the new launch. That NUP was revitalized and became a part of People Power.

Moses Nkonge Kibalama was fine with it last year, but now that wind is under his wings. He got to fly and poach the PPM and Bobi Wine for money. Suddenly a change of heart and being besieged by the soldiers around his house. In that way to intimidate and use scare tactics to destroy NUP. That is all it seems.

The NRM and the government wouldn’t use these tactics if it was efficient. They are doing this to weaken and destroy the platform and the political party Bobi Wine has. To do enough damage to hurt the options of the main contender and his allies. They have done this with plenty before him and as long as they are in power. They will do that the next in line too.

There is proof that the paperwork has been made, the registration, the change of location of offices an the delegation conference to elect new leadership of the party. Alas, Kibalama can act a fool now, but he has already dropped it.

This here is a farce and a forged play to hurt and maximize pain on the People Power Movement. They are trying to destroy and use all means to take away what they have. Because, it hurt the pride of the regime. When they were able to go under the radar, re-register the party and get control of it. That wasn’t in the cards and was unanticipated.

They were able to trick it, but now the same ones they were able to bargain with. Are giving way and becoming besieged by the state. That is why they are hurt and they use legal means to return assets. Even if the assets are more valuable now, then when they left it into custody of others.

The NUP wouldn’t mean so much. If Nkonge was still rocking the boat alone. He would alone at sea, but with Bobi Wine. The party has some value and has capacity to reach beyond all expectations. That is why the state attacks it too and uses the former leadership like it does.

Now Bobi Wine have to be holier than thou. He needs to be able to walk on water. Since every move will be tested. If he sinks or swims, that is up to him. While the regime will not let go. They went after the beret, they went after the colour and now they are running after his party. Peace.
