Opinion: Mwonzora wants to rule in two houses…

Douglas Mwonzora the Secretary General of the MDC-T wants to also run the MDC-Alliance. He wants to be the big-man both places just like his boss Thokozani Khupe. Mwonzora wants to have the ability to recall and change the leadership within the MDC-Alliance and the MDC-T. Playing to parties at the same time. While claiming to do it after the 2014 structures. Which by itself is ridiculous.

Not weird the state is sanctioning it and letting bygones be bygones, as they are getting a field day. Mwonzora get to be crowned king and spend time in the media. He looks the chief, the crowned mastermind and head honcho. Douglas make it seems so easy, but does he think the world is stupid?

We all know the government and the state wants to assault and silence the MDC-Alliance. That is why Khupe and Mwonzora are useful pawns. They are tools for destruction, their own self-destruction for a few pieces of silver. While they are causing havoc with the MDC-Alliance. It is double whammy and ZANU-PF can laugh to the bank. A bank they have robbed, skimmed from and left nothing behind for the public share.

Mwonzora wants to rule supreme in two houses. Unless he has an open relationship, if his a swinger and the wife allows him to bang other chicks on the side. It is unjustified to be like that. Think that he can run to two households and not be called out on it.

Who do you think you are? How foolish do you think the public is?

Maybe, the silver coins from ZANU-PF blinds your vision. Maybe, the flamboyant behaviour of late is facade. Douglas you cannot keep it up. The games are sooner or later over. You might look like a victor now. You maybe seem like a supreme leader in your mind. However, in reality you are still just a foot-soldier. Awaiting the trenches and the taste of blood.

The former lecturer of law at the University of Zimbabwe, the lawyer for the United Parties and former spokesperson for the MDC. Mwonzora knows the political game and what gamble he does know.

Douglas knows perfectly well the game he plays. He is maybe on the tip of the hill right now. Mwonzora is overlooking the valleys and feeling great. However, that will not be lasting. For one simple reason: You cannot rule in two houses. The MDC-T and MDC-Alliance isn’t the same thing. The parties are different for a reason, as the MDC-T is the rebellious faction who is retaliating against the victors post-Tsvangirai. It is really that easy, but they like to peasants used by Mnangagwa.

It must be nice to be used, later dropped and forgotten. These people of the MDC-T will be dropped as quick as their usage are over. They will be in the dustbin of history. All their hard work and dedication just forgotten.

Mwonzora is most likely thinking the enterprise is wise. That his so brilliant, but he cannot see how’s his fooling himself. Unless, his that stupid and thinks he can run both entities. While claiming the legitimacy. However, that is not how it works. He maybe think so and the PFee busy-bodies peddle that nonsense too. Still, that doesn’t make it a fact.

Douglas, hope you like being used and hope your bank-account is pregnant. Because, when this is all boiled over. Those envelopes got to carry you. We see you and saw what you did. This is who you are now. You have been arrested for insulting Mugabe, but at the moment your insulting your own intelligence. Peace.

Opinion: Mushrooming the state will not muster progress

This week the Republic got 6 new official cities, towns suddenly turned cities overnight. It hasn’t been overnight, the state has worked with this and pledged to do this. The state, the President and everyone involve is doing this for brownie-points, as the state will not have the funds to facilitate the transition. Neither was there allocated funds to make it feasible.

Just like there been lacking of funds to new districts, been lack of possible accounts and trust to cover the mushroomed sub-counties and municipalities. It is just endless add—ons over the years. The Republic has so many districts, sub-counties and municipalities that you can a headache just thinking about it.

This is what the National Resistance Movement does, they are micro-managing from the State House. Giving hand-outs to cronies, ensuring constituencies for loyalists and adding more MPs. It is cycle of adding more and more expenditure without having the growth of revenue. This is why the state is continuing to deficit finance the budgets. While struggling to cover the added expenditure.

It is like the setting up of new districts is a free-enterprise. Even if each district is supposed to have certain amount of structures, councils and whatnot. There is cost all along the way and not just a pickpocket of MP in Kampala. No, there is costs of civil servants, buildings and promised local government service. Which usually comes long after the choir singed songs on the day of launching any given district.

The same will be with the 6 cities. There will be outcries, as the state haven’t allocated or considered the costs. They just did it to look good ahead of elections. Honour old pledges and give the locals a title. Not ensuring the cities had their city council, had the office of the Lord Mayors and had all the other structures needed to be sufficiently running like one. There aren’t division mayors nor local councillors. This is just the mess. Yes, during the General Elections there might be elected some of those, but do they have anywhere to work from and conduct their operations?

That is what you can wonder about and if the state had thought of it. It is easy to change a title, it is easy give a place a name and call it a city. However, to operate as a city and pay the cost is a whole other animal. Just like sub-county has lesser of structure and promise of local government compared to any given district. That is just the reality.

In the end. This is just a battle of debt, a battle of insufficient funds and deficit financing. Pay for the cleaners and the nurses, but not having the credit to do so. Putting up shelters and housing units, but not giving them electricity. Wonder why everyone is in the dark and why things aren’t happening.

What is striking is the naivety about it. That there wasn’t people warning about it. That people don’t see the burden and problems that will come later. It is fun and games now. However, how will it be for the next man taking over as Head of State trying to rationalize it?

There is no sense to have that many districts, sub-counties and municipalities in the Republic. We all know that and its a political ploy to feed cronies on loaned funds. A bargain for the State House to get loyal pawns all across the Republic. It isn’t to better service delivery nor better governance. It is just adding costs without adding any new revenue. Peace.

Tchad: Let us salute Field Marshal Idriss Déby Itno

In N’Djamena, the capital of Tchad the President since 2nd December 1990 have today gotten a new title. From now on he has to be addressed like this:

The Field Marshal (maréchal) of Tchad, Idriss Déby Itno, President of the Republic, the head of state (chef d’État).

For the man who has soon been in power for 30 years. A man who has reigned supreme since December 1990. It should be easy for the President to feel comfortable and secure. His maybe feeling pressure and want to show strength.

In a way to show strength, instead of flexing his bank-account, amount of cars or mansions. The President is instead giving himself a title. A military title to prove his bravery and heroics in office.

It is just like he wants to prove his army credentials. Maybe, if the President wanted to look great he would actually overcome the insurgency in the northern provinces of the Republic and even belittle Boko Haram. However, he has not been able to do that. The volatile situation persist, but the big-man in the capital wants to high ranking official of the army.

He wants to be the Terminator, Rambo, Rocky, John McClane and T’Challa the King of Wakanda. The President also wants to be a sniper, assassin and a ninja.

He now is claiming the title of Field Marshal or Maréchal du Tchad. Maybe his planning to expand his military power. The President maybe wants to win a battle and become the ultimate warrior.

It would maybe help his mind, spirit and mythical ethos if he won in Tekken or any sort of video-game. Make him feel superior and grandiose. That he could be the supreme fighter and say that no one beats him in Street Fighter. Maybe even let him win in Mario Kart to be kind, you know.

The gist is … he made himself a fancy military title to boost his ego and ability to charm the ladies. Who knows why? It must be for some shallow reason. To prove a point or sound more magnificent. However, he is still the same bloke and has the same powers of his office. The only difference is that the poor fellows writing his speeches and the ones addressing him has to add another wording to please His Excellency, the Field Marshal, the Head of State and the President of the Republic of Tchad. It sounds like a word-salad and it is.

In his mind he might sound like a hot-shot, but his still not Charlie Sheen eating fried eggs off a woman’s body. Well, enough nonsense for one day.

Salute the Field Marshal, the President, the Head of State and the for life ruler of Tchad, Idriss Déby Itno. Peace.
