Opinion: How many youth groups does the NRM need?

The National Resistance Movement (NRM), the ruling regime of the Republic of Uganda. Are having special organizations, but for the youths they are having much more than before. Even if the NRM are only having officially the NRM Youth League.

Within the last few years there are more than that. Like before the former election the NRM got the NRM Poor Youths. Within the last two weeks there has gotten more groups within the umbrella of the NRM.

The first one was NRM Isolated Youths. Than just mere 48 hours, the launch of the NRM Yellow Power came too. Now, today its officially stated the NRM has a new pressure group, the NRM Generation Seven (7).

This means the NRM have these Youth Organizations, one official and four unofficial:

NRM Youth-League (Official)

NRM Poor Youth (Unofficial) – Launched 2015

NRM Isolated Youth (Unofficial) – Launched 5th November 2019

NRM Yellow Power (Unofficial) – Launched 6th November 2019

NRM Generation Seven (Unofficial) Launched 7th November 2019

We can really see what is up. There are plenty of organizations, but only one which is official. That’s the NRM-YL is the one that is sanctioned by the NRM itself. The rest is launched, but not official yet. They are not even on the web-page of the party.

We are also seeing this is happening quickly, all of it as an response to the People Power Movement. That is why Generation Seven is a NRM Pressure Group. Yellow Power is a direct play of the colour of the party and also twisting the message like the youths know. The isolated youths, are just trying to buy relevance like the Poor Youth. Both of them trying to find a meal ticket.

Certainly, this is all preparation of 2021 and find ways of being vibrant. Still, these are just preoccupations of the NRM. The NRM regime is trying to find ways to get the youth whose following Bobi Wine to get hooked by the party. Not through the direct NRM, but youth organizations. That’s why these are mushrooming, also because many are hungry and unemployed. Therefore, the NRM are ending up like this.

We can wonder, how much swagger and how much these really will matter. The NRM-YL haven’t done much. Neither has the Poor Youth. The Isolated Youths, Yellow Power and Generation Seven are new outfits. They might amount to something, if not one-man bands for envelopes. We don’t know, but this doesn’t seem like a winning formula. Peace.

Opinion: The Terminator is sentenced for 30 years, the Capo is out, but what about the Don?

Bosco Ntaganda aka the Terminator was today sentenced to 30 years in prison for his crimes. However, that is not enough. It is not enough to take out the Capo or an Underboss to stop the crime. You need to take out the Don. In concern of the Terminator. The ICC and the International Community only took the Capo.

The Terminator is fine and dandy, he did his deeds and he did his bidding in the Kivu’s. He caused havocs, murder and massacre. In the wake of this, he should answer to that crime and to the lives he took and the kids he raised to be child soldiers. All of that is good, that he answers for that.

However, his handlers, the ones who gave him weapons, the ones who traded favours and ensured that the Capo could do his livelihood are walking free. The ones who gave way and let him do his deeds. Are proudly summoning people, being at international functions and continuing supporting other War-Lords in the same region.

You took out one, but there are plenty more fish. Because, the state, the ones across the border from Kivu needs the rebels, the warlords to continuing to prosper and sell looted minerals on the world market. This continues, as the spoils and exploits continues. Even as Bosco aka Terminator has to rot for 30 years in Europe.

The salvation isn’t coming, because the saviours are not there. The state are allowing this and the MONUSCO is not powerful to restrain these armed groups and militias, that has outside support and trade-routes to ensuring wealth.

If it is the Ugandan President supporting militias through Kisoro or Rwenzori mountains or the Rwandan President supporting it through Gisenyi. We just know this is happening and the world let it go on. Because, it isn’t our problem and the Coltan we need for Iphone and Samsung is getting distributed just in timely fashion anyway.

So, its fine that the Terminator is charged for the crimes committed. But its not fine, that the ones supporting the weapons, the ones earning on the exploits of him are getting away. They are walking free and getting no trouble what so ever. That’s what bugs me, but I am special that way. Peace.

Opinion: Bebe Cool the political enigma…

We are living the day and age, where Musa Ssali aka Big Size aka Bebe Cool are vibrant. Someone who is addressing politics and claiming importance of both careers and businesses made by other artists. Even if they are all dismissing it.

Bebe Cool thinks that his brilliant, that he has wise wisdom, but in reality it is only words of pleasure for the President and the rest of his men. There is nothing else too it. His man whose fine with the dictatorship, with the order of the day, because it pays him and his in the atmosphere of power. Even if he has nothing to do there.

It is not like his a scientist or a leader of men. Unless, his trying to teach people to be spoiled brats. Than, he could have schooled half of Kabalagala, Kampala. Maybe, even drumming up artists for a gig-song or concerts before campaign rallies. That is his place in the realm of importance.

His only in the spotlight because the President want him there. Trying to make Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and his People Power Movement looking bad. Not like the President nor the State House wants him around for guidance on border conflict nor ensuring the micro-loans are properly made for a part of the population.

Bebe Cool is only a useful fool for the President. A modern day Jester, who thinks highly of himself. But he will bury his own career and his own misery on the final day of judgement. The day the President doesn’t need him or the Presidency is finally over. Some of songs might be played, but he will nothing vibrant in the public to say. His now bound by the Court of the President, the day his not needed there. He will be left behind.

Not that Bebe Cool is thinking of that, because he thinks this last forever. Like so many others think. Even if the President is at advanced age. Still, it will not last forever, even if the President want his son to carry mantle, when he stops breathing. There is nothing in the cards, that Bebe Cool needs to be jumping around when Muhoozi gets the crown. If he even will be crowned, as the people are tired of Musevenism and needs other leaders to get somewhere.

Bebe Cool might think his a juggernaut, but his just a foot-soldier whose sacrifices will not be paid. Just like many of the peasants who feed the NRA, but never got any of the spoils. That is a reality the Bebe’s of the world doesn’t want to hear. As he wants to be King, but is only the fool. Peace.
