Joint Communique Issued at the End of the Official Visit of H.E. Abdallah Hamdok Prime Minister of the Republic of Sudan to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (11.10.2019)

Hyper-inflation has the Republic of Zimbabwe by its neck. Where the salaries cannot keep up with the prices on basic goods. Neither, can the salaries cope with the prices on electricity or fuel. While, the Republic is soon starving, water-crisis hitting major cities, doctor-strikes and teacher-strikes. There isn’t any good news on the horizon.
Unless, your reading the Herald. Than the Finance Minister again promise a better next year and better financial situation. Without any proof or guidance of it. The RTGS Dollar is devalued, the lack of foreign exchange has hit the markets and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe seems to has lost all touch with reality.
The inflation rate has sky-rocketed into the highest heavens and making costs a living hell. There is no lie in that, unless you have eaten funds of Command Agriculture, than your golden and got enough funds to get-by.
Still, the remedies, the policies and the acts of the state hasn’t stagnated the inflation. Neither, has their decisions with in concern of ECOCASH or others. There are nothing proving to be working and the rates are not going down.
The ZANU-PF control of the finances, the economic stimulus or whatever it is doing; its not working at all. There are no proof or no signal. No smoke and no fire, just a waterfall of a massive crack of devalued currencies.
At this very moment. The rates cannot get worse. At this very moment, the hurt, the pain and issues remain. That the public cannot keep up with the rates and prices, the idea of self-sufficient isn’t there.
The government and institutions can lie, like they do in the Herald. But that will not solve anything. The margins of error is already to big and the relief is non-existent, even if the President can be vagabond and globe-trotter, while his state is suffering.
Well, enough of this. Zimbabwe deserves better. The lack of trust and lack of ideals to solve this conundrum is evident. The magicians behind the scenes cannot get rid of this rabbit. Even if they by a hat abroad. They cannot put a scarf on it and patch the hurt. It needs more love than that. Peace.

I personally don’t get it, maybe its my character, maybe its my misconception. But I don’t see the big need to celebrate a former dictator. It doesn’t matter where he reside or when he ruled. A dictator in his prime, stayed a dictator and did what dictators do. Oppress, kill, destroy and uses ruthless means to stay in power.
Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi was no different for 24 years. He used all sort of schemes, plans and ways to stay in power. If it was eliminating his enemies, if it was buying-off herdsmen, whatever ways to stay on top. There was no soft side.
You don’t get to be President from 1978-2002 by being a mediocre character, being someone who is silent and doesn’t act. No, this president use all his forces, all his means to get his ways.
Therefore, I see no need to celebrate this sort of figure, this sort of leader nor his legacy. Which should be more remembered for the lives lost, the ones used as pawns and the ones sent to exile because of his actions. These people who fled, who lost their lives and the ones who was hurt. Those are the people that need to be remembered. The ones silenced, the ones not allowed to speak, the ones arrested, tortured and killed. These are the ones that needs to be remembered, in a way, that we don’t repeat the mistakes of his leadership.
That what we should do. Not make tokens and celebrate his longevity or his ability to stay in power. Because, very little good came out of it. President Moi has a legacy of disappear, disappearances and murder. Of electioneering and rigging elections, censorship and using tribal clashes to his advantage.
We can act like it doesn’t matter, but it does. It doesn’t matter that his a kingpin at Kabarak University now. That his the man whose every leader pass-by for advice during elections. Like the Jubilee leadership did during the Fresh Presidential Elections in 2017. They was awaiting the anointing powers of the predecessor. They were not going to Kibaki, no they went to Moi.
That is what they did and now the Super-CS Fred Matiang’i blessed the 10th October to be the Moi Day. Like people want to remember the dictator they haven’t had since 2002. The man whose haven’t been in power for 17 years. Still, they are supposed to cherish his corruption, his oppressive behaviour and his techniques to stay in power. That shouldn’t be the case. This shouldn’t be it.
However, it is and there is nowhere to hide. A dictator is praised on the accord with the current day leadership. This shouldn’t be a thing, but it is. Who knows why they are doing it, but it doesn’t look smart nor brilliant. It just looks like the current leaders want to earn political capital on refurbishing the idea and the legacy of the dictatorship of Moi. Do they do this to look better themselves?
What could be the reason and why are they making it like this? A public holiday to remember the ethnic-clashes, the tactical politics of Moi and the unanswered lives, which was taken in his reign. Not only the public treason cases against his opponents. Not only his use of words against Dr. Maathai, but in general. His actions speaks so loud and shall not be forgotten.
They shall not be rewritten and his not a saint. His not a hero, unless heroes are the once the scorn others. Peace.

“Let us reject being mere spectators in life, to becoming masters of our own destiny” – Dr. John Garang from the 1990 Torit Speech
Today was supposed to be the day that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni shined in the Bugisu Sub-Region and in Sironko District. Where he together with all the flair, the state machinery, the army and dignitaries. Even Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa was there to bring the festivities to the next.
However, the actions of his state apparatus, the acts of his own security organizations and their compatriots failed. They were supposed to have a smug party and celebrate the spoils of 57 years of independence. Instead, this day will not be remembered for whatever trophy or award Mnangagwa got or the speech of Museveni.
No. Today will be remembered by what happen in Wakiso district and in Kampala. There was another fellow taking the headlines and stealing from the military parades of Sionko. The man who overtook the mantle and the spotlight was Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
His not the first opposition figure (Dr. Kizza Besigye and Ingrid Turinawe) to sneak out his own home, as it is besieged by police officers and road-blocks. Which was the case today, as the news of Independence and Magere was sealed off. Still, Bobi Wine found away and he took off.
What is even more amazing was that Bobi Wine was able to dip through traffic and pass into Kamwokya. He was able to drive-in convoy during the day and even jump onto a boda-boda while the police tried to arrest him. This all made fuzz and the video-clip of this is online. It went viral. Because, it shows the lack of freedom and how one mad had to defy the authorities.
This is defiance in-action. Where one man took it and showed the world what it means to stand-up against the oppressors. He could have been a defeatists and been behind sealed of premises. Instead, his action showed the public what a little effort can do. He was able to shock and awe, but also show them that they can stand-up towards the people with guns and spike-strip or tire deflation device to stop him from passing.
Still, Bobi Wine did pass his home. He went and became the man about town. Bobi Wine didn’t only show his face, but he showed true defiance. Some calls him a hooligan, but his not a fanatic football support. His a man who stood up for his own freedom and as an example of someone who will not be shackled by an unfair system, which the NRM is putting the public.
A little defiance overpowered the festivities today. Who knew? Nobody did, that’s what defiance does. Peace.
