Opinion: [Nothing to see here] Museveni is not campaigning folks!

“President Yoweri Museveni has urged the people of Wakiso to avoid opposition politicians come 2021. This as he presided over the 30th Heroes day celebration in Kasanje town in Wakiso District” (NBS Television, 09.06.2019).

Well, the Electoral Commission has confessed to the public, that unless politicians are campaigning before the Election Road Map, they advice them not to do so and the authorities are allowed to strike with terrible vengeance upon them.

However, the President and his convoy are allowed to travel everywhere. His fellow comrades and supporters are saying this Operation Wealth Creation Tour, the Manifesto Week and such is just spreading the news of his achievements during this current term. However, the President have become the SOLE CANDIDATE and has been ENDORSED in every village and hut his past by. He has hold political rallies and used his usual voter tourism strategy.

We could just stand idly by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni driving to every stage up-county like its nothing. Spending money like it is no tomorrow. But we all seen this before, as he launching 0,9 km roads and speaking ill of competitors. That is just the way he is and has been for ages. Even if he claims to be longer in opposition, than in government. Someone, please do the Math.

Alas, here we are again, short run up to the elections. No serious electoral reforms, the same rigging machinery in place another blown-up budget and surely there will be a second coming for that. As there is one more calendar year and fiscal year before the polls. There will empty state coffers and the will be several of supplementary funds, which comes to the State House. As they need extra funds for water, wages and whatnot at the State House. Not that its spending on the campaigns, t-shirts, buses, foods, entertainment and a box of Arua Stones. No, no, no, it is spend on the furniture of the President and his Presidential Advisors, all the hundred of them.

We can lie to ourselves, even if the NRM Party says his not campaigning as the sole candidate and getting endorsed. The NRM can say this doesn’t matter, because his not stipulated officially yet by the NRM CEC or NRM internally. However, this will just be rubber-stamped and move along with a photo-session where he runs and goes to the NRM EC and gets the paper by Dr. Tanga Odoi. Dr. Odoi wouldn’t dare to field another candidate against him. That would be the end of Odoi’s career and he would have to flee to Europe as quickly as possible.

Therefore, the NRM and Museveni can lie saying they haven’t been campaigning and only championing the Steady Progress paradigm, while traversing the Republic. But we all know what it is and what he does. If not, he wouldn’t need to be ENDORSED in every village by every goat, man and fellow matooki branch, but apparently he does. Peace.

Opinion: Tshisekedi is in Kabila’s mercy!

There are rumoured of a meeting again between President Felix Tshisekedi and former President Joseph Kabila, as the unholy favourable union of Kabila-Tshisekedi continues. The FCC-CACH is a victory for Kabila without doing much. He has the stakes and the minion is Tshisekedi. This is just public knowledge now.

Kabila called a meeting tomorrow, which will be in the residence of Tshisekedi, while Kabila haven’t left the Presidential Palace and doesn’t plan to do so. This is the man that ruled for long and seemingly controls it all from a distance. Tshisekedi is just a useful pawn, so that Kabila isn’t the face of the state, but still ensures that his allies are favoured. That is why the Prime Minister a former one of Mobutu and himself. It is a man Kabila can trust, not a random technocrat whose might have more qualities as leader at this point.

This is just the typical now, as the Kabila way from closed doors, that is why we are in June 2019 and the sworn-in President is still waiting in the wind to able to swear-in his own cabinet. That is because the President got no leverage or power. The FCC and allies got the MPs, got the Representatives and got the Local Governments too. The Lamuka and CACH got just mere breadcrumbs, this is known, but still Tshisekedi made a secret agreement to fit the bill.

This bill has to paid, as his is literately serving Kabila. Kabila is maybe not the President, but Tshisekedi is no one without Kabila. That is public knowledge. The FCC-CACH is a match made in hell, as the burning fires and everything Felix touches has to be confirmed by Kabila. That is a clear lost.

Felix Tshisekedi has the title and the honour, but not having the power or credibility. The President are a waterboy for Kabila. It must be a bitch to be His Excellency, but still asking for favours from the previous one. That is what he does. Surely, that is not the fate the man wanted, but it is better than being an opposition in exile. Peace.

Sudanese Professionals Association: Cautionary Statement (08.06.2019)

We have received several reports about the continued campaign of the Military Coup Council in arresting political activists and protesters. The militias of ‘the security committee’ of the old regime, RSF and Janjaweed brigades have detained a number of political leaders and threatened them with assassination, in addition to the forced disappearance of a large number of revolutionaries whose fate remains unknown. This violent campaign of the criminal militias has also reached a number of employees of banks, electricity companies, airports, civil aviation, and other vital sectors with pursuits, arrests, and threats, in an attempt to break the planned civil disobedience and the general political strike through which all sectors of the Sudanese people have come together to overthrow the Military Coup Council and transfer power to a civil transitional authority in accordance with the Declaration of Freedom and Change (DFC).

In continuation of the methods of intimidation, terrorism, and spreading disinformation, it has come to our knowledge that filthy schemes are being planned by the Military Coup Council to stage violent incidents and attacks on citizens’ properties, in order to attribute it to the revolutionaries and to the DFC forces. It is a sick and desperate attempt to shake the unity of the Sudanese people and their unwavering commitment to tools of nonviolent resistance that are ultimately manifested in the complete civil disobedience and the general political strike.

In the face of these catastrophic and repressive developments, we call upon the workers in all institutions and facilities, in the public and private sectors, to engage and strictly adhere to the tools of civil disobedience and the general political strike, to cherish the blood of the martyrs and protect the lives of their colleagues and with loyalty and respect for their continued struggle. We also appeal to all regional and international institutions, especially those related to banks and financial and economic transactions, not to deal with the oppressive authority that is occupying the country, to demand a stop to the bloodshed and assassinations faced by political leaders and activists, while fully holding the coup council and its militias responsible for any attack or arrest.

Finally, we salute the commitment and dedication of the revolutionary people of Sudan, and we affirm that we are anticipating all possibilities and are working to combat them for as long as it takes, until the dawn of salvation, and we are sure it is nigh.

We call on all activists, neighbourhood resistance committees, and strike committees to raise the level of readiness and order among them, take all precautions and be prepared to face these campaigns with the necessary peacefulness, awareness, and caution.
