Jinja East By-Election: NRM Press Statement (16.03.2018)

Zimbabwe: Statement on Former President Mugabe (16.03.2018)

Peace.

Jinja East By-Election: FDC Candidate Paul Mwiru won the seat again and it wasn’t easy!

For the fourth time, the Forum for Democratic Change Paul Mwiru won the seat in Jinja East By-Election today. Earlier in the day it was dark, it was bleak, not because he lacks public support. The rallies has been packed and the support of the citizens been there. The police and the army was all out, they were doing the work of the National Resistance Movement (NRM). It would have expected to move it in favor of the NRM Candidate Nathan Igeme Nabeta. By the standard of things, the Electoral Commission would cook the numbers together with the pre-ticked ballots and proclaim Nabeta the winner. Because that would fit President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. However, the social media, the CCEDU presence and the people questioning the ill-behavior stopped the madness.

Even if the streets was filled with soldiers, even massive scores of soldiers at the polling stations. FDC activists and leaders detained. Even in the days before and today, the Deputy Secretary General Harold Kajja was detained today. We could have expected also Secretary General Patrick Amuriat Oboi too, who posted pictures with ballots earlier in the day, but Kajja wasn’t that fortunate. There are still many of the FDC activists, the ones meeting at the FDC Office after the final rally on the 13th March 2018. They are still not released. The NRM are not forgiving and has no problem with acting against the law, when coming to detaining political prisoners. This is not new in the Republic, but yet another election with this sort of intimidation and harassment of fellow citizens who is naturally loyal to the Movement.

So, the incumbent had his joys, even as the NRM used all their force, all the government extravagance and even the President rallying for his NRM Candidate. The same candidate that Mwiru has challenged since before 2011. With similar numbers as today. The state hasn’t sufficient support for their man in Jinja East, they are trying the same lingo, but dropping the spoiled goods every time. They have now called for new elections in between 2011 and now, therefore, he has been elected four times. We understand that Museveni wants his own guy, but Jinja East doesn’t support Nabeta that much.

Museveni can send the army, pre-ticket ballots counting 8000, when the total tally of counted ballots today was 12,103. That means with the numbers Nabeta got, he would have gotten today 5,043 + 8000 is totally 13043. If that had been so, it would have been more voters than possible. That meaning the EC was planning big scale locally cooking of the numbers to get Nabeta in Parliament. You should wrinkle your mind there. When considering that Paul Mwiru got 6,654 votes today. Which was significantly enough to beat Nabeta with the government backing.

The state even with soldiers, police force active in partisan politics and the machinery ready to move the rigging affair too. If it wasn’t for mobile phones and civil activist for electoral codes in CCEDU. The picture might have been a affair where the NRM had gotten their way. They had intimidated and shut it down in favor of Museveni’s man. Even if the population of Jinja East wants Mwiru again. Because, Museveni doesn’t get that. That is why they exposed all the madness, why the FDC camped there to secure it and not let it go.

It is good to see NRM loose, but it is costly, since they use all vile force, they doesn’t spare the security organizations, they use intimidation and tactics that isn’t favor of a free and fair election. It is so messed up and the ones who follow knows this. It shouldn’t be this hard to get an opposition Member of Parliament elected to the 10th Parliament. However it is, and it says everything about the NRM and Musveni at this point. Peace.

Jinja East By-Election: Return Form for Tranmission of Results (15.03.2018)

Opinion: Mugabe shouldn’t cry foul, he should enjoy his retirement!

Mugabe bitter at Mnangagwa’s “betrayal”. “On my side, I always had Mnangagwa. I brought (Mnangagwa) into govt. I never thought he whom I had nurtured, and whose life I had saved in prison when he was threatened with hanging, that one day he’d be the man that turned against me”. Mugabe: “I don’t hate Emmerson. I brought him into Government. But he must be proper. He is illegal.” He says he’s ready to speak to ED to correct things. “We don’t deserve it. Please we don’t deserve it.”. Mugabe offers to negotiate with Mnangagwa. “But I must be invited, properly invited for that discussion”” (Zim Media Review, 15.03.2018).

It is insulting to the people of the Republic of Zimbabwe. Where Robert Mugabe was President for 37 years. Where he run everything and left nothing behind. He touched everything and everyone. His decisions was made in his interests. He made it violent, he rigged himself into power and he used all the tricks in the book to stay in power. Suddenly in November 2017, the Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) who ousted him with help of the army in coup. That is right, but he didn’t have a birthday to be on the throne until death.

It is rare when someone like him speaks of illegal, that former comrade Mugabe is blaming Mnangagwa, the man who rig himself again and again. The man who tarnished, nearly killed the opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, the man who has detained activists, where up to 5,000 MDC activists are still not accounted for by the ZANU-PF government. Even months after the fall of Mugabe, there are enough human rights violations, enough skeletons in the closet to keep him in prison forever if anyone collected evidence and affidavits.

Mugabe should be careful with his mouth, since he is living lavish, he is still having his blue-roof and the family is still getting a hefty pension. That is more than President Canaan Banana. Therefore, sometimes, silence is the best medicine. If Mugabe was wise, he would haven’t said a god damn thing. Clearly, the former professor, has lost his marbles. Since he talks and says things that doesn’t make sense.

It is right that President Mnangagwa haven’t been directly elected, but was helped by the army. Which he has offered positions in the cabinet. Mugabe shouldn’t expect a discussion or invitation to negotiate anything, unless it is to get out of jail free card. I know Zimbabwe isn’t Monopoly, but that card shouldn’t have. His kind which has eaten on the state, used the police and army to oppress people for generations. Kept opposition in prison, if not they have exiled. Clearly, this man after his ousting, should pray to God for the Mercy, ZANU-PF and Mnangagwa showed him. They could have chopped his head-off, but instead they should dignity and mercy on the old man.

Mugabe, do yourself favor, retire with grace, really retire with Grace. Its time do much ado nothing. It’s time for him to be silent, not talk, he has done more than enough. Mugabe has hurt enough people and oppressed enough of them. His tricks is used, his time is spent and he is lucky he isn’t lingering in jail until his final day on earth.

So please, former comrade and liberator, the former dictator and almighty, please shut-up and just be retired. Not complain, because your lucky enough already, your blessed enough already and has still all your things. Other ones in your shoes was taken around town, flogged and then killed. You got off easy, maybe should consider that for a little moment. Peace.

Opinion: Wentangula is now a lost one!

Today, a new storm arise in the Kenyan Parliament, just as the signed agreement between Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga went into force, the changes came swiftly. However, the National Super Alliance Co-Principals has felt left behind. They never got the satisfaction, but now the Orange Democratic Movement are showing no mercy for the ones who left Odinga alone on the 30th January 2018. Since the now former Minority Leader in the Senate Ford-Kenya leader Moses Wetangula will be changed with ODM Sentor James Orengo.

This is just a proof of the power of the ODM compared to the other parties within the coalition. That the ODM can just shuffle around and take force because of their stature and the amounts of political goodwill it has created. Now the NASA Co-Principals are mere extra’s on the ship. They are not running anything, they have to follow or be lost.

We knew that Kenyatta won when Odinga signed the pact; he got the credibility and the legitimacy he so craved for, while Odinga get peace and becomes the merrymaker in the shin ding. He and his party is now showing it, when they empty Wetangula out as yesterday’s paper. Just putting him in bin and putting one of their own.

ODM has the strength in the Parliament to do so, with the amounts of MPs and Senators, no doubt about it. But they are now showing no mercy and leaving no one behind. The Amani National Congress (ANC), Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) and Forum for the Restoration of Democracy – Kenya (FORD-K), so by mere numbers this is reasonable. However, if they care about the coalition in the end, it is damaging to hurt the pride of Co-Principals. Because of the representatives in total in minority, who is not forming government the ODM has 96 out of 162. While FORD-K has 14, also, the WDM has 26 and ANC has 17. Total of the other parties than ODM has 57 representatives in the Parliament. The smallest is also FORD-K. Therefore, by giving the title to them was a leaf and straw of confidence.

This is really cracking the whip, this is really petty politics, but surely to teach the Co-Principals a lesson after betraying Odinga. He haven’t acted before he went his own way and signed pact without them knowing. Just like, they didn’t answer or commit to the swearing-in, which was the first rift. The political games has started since and the resistance has dwindled until recently, when it’s been obviously discarded. Everyone can read Githeri Media and buy Brookside milk like nothing ever happen. Though Miguna Miguna says otherwise and David Ndii who lost his column in Daily Nation.

The ones that should worry is Mudavadi and Kalonzo Musyoka, as they are seeing how Wetangula is discarded like bad chapatti today. Today, Wetangula is lost in the wind, he is taken and flying out with nowhere to land. Clearly, the goal is to prove a point. I like Orengo and his attitude in politics. How he carry himself, but this is not good for the political climate between the coalition parties. This is petty, this is brutal and is not sharing, but overpowering.

This is a sign of what to come. This is not over, not until it is over. However, the ODM is proving their power and machinery after the agreement. Now the Co-Principals can either follow, or disband. We have to see… Peace.
