Opinion: Dr. Tedros rescinded Mugabe as a Goodwill Ambassador, but he has now shown his admiration of dictators!

The public outcry and the shaming of the appointment of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe as World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador has really hurt the newly elected director-general. Clearly, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Ethiopian Director-General didn’t consider how the world view of Mugabe and his position in the United Nations Organization. WHO has ideals and barren structure of the human rights and the needs for health care across the nations and member states. So with the backslash and the disappointing idea is now proven. The character of the leader is at least shown.

Parts of Dr. Tedros Adhanom statement today:

Over the last few days, I have reflected on my appointment of H.E. President Robert Mugabe as WHO Goodwill Ambassador for NCDs in Africa. As a result I have decided to rescind the appointment. I have listened carefully to all who have expressed their concerns, and heard the different issues that they have raised. I have also consulted with the Government of Zimbabwe and we have concluded that this decision is in the best interests of the World Health Organization. It is my aim to build a worldwide movement for global health. This movement must work for everyone and include everyone” (WHO, 2017).

What is striking and what is unique, is that he is taking away the honor to Mugabe, but at the same time. He was in close connection and talking with them. Not trying to figure it out on his own. I am sure if the public and the human rights organizations didn’t blast the hell out of the decision. He would still be the Goodwill Ambassador for NCDs in Africa. Surely, he can pick someone with a little flair and legitimacy for it. Not someone who has been thieving and looting since the 1980s. There must someone else who has the ability and the compassion to care about the subject.

We can clearly see that the WHO General-Director have no trouble with dictatorships and the totalitarian leadership, since he can easily honor them and work for them. If they do quell opposition and hurt citizens who oppose the central government. He will most likely be behind them and give them honorable notes. The Ethiopian Revolutionary People’s Democratic Front (EPRDF) has teached him well, as the years in the central government of Addis Ababa have served him well.

We can just imagine who is the next man or woman he appoints, what sort of person will that be? Is he inflicted from the party at home he represent, as they haven’t had democratic principals and neither respected their liberties or freedoms. This being in Amhara and Oromia states, as the people are demonstrating the control and the oppression of the EPRDF. A party that he has been part of and in the close-knit centralized leadership. That should set off some signals and the ones who said this before his win, wasn’t strong enough or able to get enough votes.

What we do know, he is compassion and care for the longstanding dictators, that he will serve them and give them honors. We know that now, as the role he had in Addis Ababa is now reflected on the position in the World Health Organization. Peace.

Opinion: Amama Mbabazi chosen silence is a token of his loyalty to the NRM!

I have never left the NRM. I just happen to be an NRM member who wants change” Amama Mbabazi

I wonder if some has to put a sign or use one of those big posters by the Constitutional Square or the Square in Central Kampala with a giant picture of Amama Mbabazi and have a quote over it saying: “this guy has been missing, if have any information, give it to the proper authorities”. Maybe, then he will reveal himself and actually speak in public. Its like he is paid to be silent, that after a long campaign since 2015 and the takeover of The Democratic Alliance (TDA) under the political umbrella of Go Forward. He just has gone missing after his election petition was dismissed. He had some days of siege and was under house arrest, but he haven’t been vocal. Utter silence. Nothing.

Mbabazi, the former notorious devious character within the National Resistance Movement, the man who was a giant supporter and organizer, the man who fought cases abroad and internally. The man that pushed the NRM in the direction that pleased the President. Was suddenly to ambitious and the man clipped his wings. Not like Gilbert Bukenya will ever play a vital role anywhere. He is a stooge and massive bouncing balls of jello, moving where the envelopes are given. Not sure if the same is now the activity of Mbabazi. But his silence is a statement.

Amama Mbabazi rocked the scene and made himself a viable candidate for many, even got the Democratic Party Norbert Mao supporting his candidacy. Mbabazi seemed like a real contender and used massive funds to use Go Forward and even build up offices around the country. Even as his consultation meetings met the same fortune as the FDC and Besigye. Met with tear-gas and often harassment by the police. He got the taste of the Public Order Management Act (POMA), that he had supported and used against Besigye. So he got the feeling of being on the fringes and standing on guards against his former President and party. Even if he said he was still a member of it. The former Prime Minister and Secretary General of the NRM.

Mbabazi silence on all matters is visible, it is a token of his dying loyalty to Museveni. The man that built him up and later destroyed him. Mbabazi was a loyal subject, but when he started to show ambition, he was thrown to the dogs. That is why Vice-President Edward Ssekandi just existing and not even in the public much. He is just collecting his salary and not saying much, if anything at all. Seemingly, like the outcast Mbabazi.

Mbabazi might do this in solidarity with the President. Just sitting in his home and saying nothing. Not acting, just living and taking care of his spoils. His businesses and whatnot he has. Only mentioning the Uganda Cranes of late, other than that nothing.

We knew you traveled through desert between 2015 and 2016, even passed through a den of thieves and came out with scratches and humiliating results. Still, you didn’t expect fanfare and being called a legend after what you passed while being a NRM cadre and leader?

Let’s be clear, the silence is a token of your loyalty. That is why he doesn’t say or do anything. He is a NRM Member and NRM loyal subject, who still wants to show that to the President. Mbabazi don’t have the character or the guts to do anything else. He wont risk his ill-gained wealth or proposed possible authority, that could be given him at a later stage. Since he knows how the President operates and he is anticipating his next move. Peace.

Age Limit: The Police continues to arrest and oppress Red-Ribbon Consultations across the Republic!

These Age Limit Consultation from the ones who oppose usually leads to their leaders being arrested. The demand for free speech and rallies is insane, but for some strange reasons the Police are not touching Gen. Mughisa Muntu, but the others should be in fear. The ones that easy to mention that has been or still detained somewhere in the Republic on various charges is Patrick Amuriat Oboi, Dr. Kizza Besigye, Nathan Nandala-Mafabi, Ibrahim Kasozi, Ingrid Turinawe, Ibrahim Ngenda-Ssemujju, Erias Lukwago, Robert Kyagulyani and Muwanga Kivumbi. It is a heavy list and heavy-weight, this isn’t all of them who has been behind bars or are still in jail for fighting the lifting of the Age Limit.

The National Resistance Movement and their President are using their force to silence the opposition. All the clear indications of merciless attack on freedom of assembly, free speech and even movement. Are now in the open. The Police are so involved in the matter, that the partisan free police is a relic of the past. They are for some reason giving space to Muntu, but he is a rare flower in the political spectrum in Uganda. Museveni can do as he pleases, the same with the ones that favors the Constitutional Amendment, they can do whatever to push the agenda. The agenda that fits Museveni.

While the ones opposing it will be in trouble, will get detained and get silenced. To say anything else, when you see the record of the police and the havoc they create. They are blocking roads to stadiums, coming with guns and tear-gas. They are coming to stifle the people and intimidate them from assembling. So when Mwenda says this just happens to Besigye, but not Muntu. That is because the NRM needs a precious flower to show the world, while the others are lingering and being under fire.

The IGP Kale Kayihura loyalty to Museveni is so overbearing, that the laws and jurisdiction, the clear impunity and manhandling politics is insane. They are not fighting crimes, but silencing the opposition. This has been going on for decades, but with more striking force. The NRM only has this, because popularity they don’t have. That is well-known, that is why the Besigye and Bobi Wine are getting positive feedback, while its cronies and paid-praise that is spread by the NRM.

Because the Police are banning joint MPs rallies and over County levels that is not the ones they are elected to represent. They are banning so much, even claiming music shouldn’t be into partisan politics. But they can make songs that fits the state needs. It is so ironic and so foolish. The state can do the same, but the opposition cannot.

The Red Ribbons has been outlawed and can be taken away, while the NRM are now wearing Yellow Ribbons, which is okay. It shows their lack of tolerance and respect of the civil disobedience. The ones sticking to the program is allowed, while the rest is silenced. That is the way it is. Not that it is justified, but just how the NRM operates. Be clear, until the dust is settled, until the dusk is coming. There will be dozens more arrested and the opposition will be heavy monitored. The Police will use all means to stop the assembly of the opposition leaders. They have done so and will continue to do so.

So don’t be surprised by the Police vindictiveness towards the opposition and activists, they cannot do anything else. They are ordered to do so. The NRM cannot handle real questions to their authority and their President for Life! Peace.

Opinion: The IEBC shouldn’t hold the 26th October Elections, they should postpone it!

I know its only 4 days to the 26th October, the second Presidential Election in Kenya after the nullification of 1st September by the Supreme Court. Aftermath of that has not showed anything prosperous or changes of the program by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). The Internal Memos that have been released to the public, has showed how the IEBC have geared for similar program as in the 8th August 2017.

The revelations of Dr. Roselyn Akombe, the former commissioner and her 9th October Internal Memo to Chairman Wafula Chebukati combined with the Internal Memo sent from CEO Ezra Chiloba to the Returning Officers and Polling Station Officials on the subject of the “RTS” System. They have clearly followed the same procedure, sending Chiloba on vacation isn’t changing the procedures. As the lack of transparency before the polls. It is only rare luck and also the letters between Chiloba and Chebukati has proven how fraudulent the affairs is. But not that has been discussed or taken into consideration.

This together with the United States, United Kingdom and the European Union Envoys has taken the side of the IEBC, talking about process and verification of the election. Even if the elections isn’t credible or free and fair. While the Jubilee party has attacked the Supreme Court and National Super Alliance, while it has defended the IEBC. Kenyatta and Ruto has attacked them both with fierce words and accusation. Matiangi has even banned NASA Demonstrations, while letting the Jubilee demonstrate with burning tires in peace. The Police has even killed in Nairobi and Kisumu, all from grandmothers to babies has been killed by the security organization. This on the watch of the Matiangi and Kenyatta. They have not condemn the killings, neither have they stopped them.

This has been the ordinary days of work for the current leadership. While the NASA Presidential Candidate Odinga and Deputy Candidate Kalonzo Musyoka have pulled out. Even with just mere days ahead, not even having proper nominations according to law. The previous candidates has been put on ballots and has been gazetted. The good news is that the Electoral Laws in Parliament hasn’t been signed by the President and neither tried in the Courts. To see if the Constitutional Amendments would even be legal. Clearly, the Jubilee have done everything they could to seal the second term.

Odinga and NASA has questioned the IEBC from the get-go and that has been righteous. Even if the foreign envoys and the Jubilee has tried to deflect it. Because they will alter the results in favor of the incumbent Kenyatta. The 26th October 2017, the second Presidential Elections and polls, but will not make a difference.

Even if Dr. Ekuru Aukot and all the candidates on the ballots are just a front. As the gazetted timeline and the questionable new ballots that has been delivered. That doesn’t mean it will matter. The mothers of demonstrations has been promised on the 26th October, as well as surely Matiangi’s National Holiday will be a day of chaos. Since the Police will be hostile to demonstrators. Even some returning officers and parts of the IEBC plans to lay down their work for this exercise. Some parts of Kenya are the NASA saying they will not vote at all.

All of this is happening and Kenyatta are just blaming the NASA and praying. He is ready to be vindictive and controlling. Kenyatta are blaming NASA for chaos and keeping the country in suspense. While, it is his non-actions and will of reforms that brought the nation here. It wasn’t NASA, it was the Jubilee and their will of controlling the Electoral Body that got them here. All blame has been put on Odinga and NASA, when they have asked for reforms and used civil disobedience with demonstrations. That the state has tried to silence and block, which has been fatal to many. Too many, and too many has ended in hospitals as an effect of it.

This is not how it is supposed to be, that the Electoral Body is so questioned, but neither is the means of the organization supposed to be like they are. They are to involved in the one ruling party and worked in cahoots with them. That is why the whole elections will be in shambles.

There are too many pieces of the puzzle that hasn’t been arranged properly. The actors are cheating and putting them in place, without proving if the pieces fit the puzzle. We can only see in the days ahead, but not expect it change. They are trying to pursuit the road of unhappiness and the road of rigging, hope for legitimacy and the ways the international community combined with the rest of East Africa. They might as well get that, because the Americans just wants a loyal puppet and the EU wants to show progress of their development projects, even if its done in a bad fashion. They don’t care about the hypocrisy and their maladministration as long it is not their own.

There shouldn’t be an election on the 26th October, the birthday of Uhuru Kenyatta, he shouldn’t be reelected. This should be postponed until the IEBC or any Electoral Body prove they will follow the Electoral Laws and Codes, so that the people can trust the results and the counting of their votes. At this point they cannot and within reason. Peace.

Opinion: The International Community should help the Togolese people in their hour of need and quit the silence!

Well, this is again about President Faure Gnassingbé, the current President of Togo. He is currently planning a third term for his presidency. That has sparked a fire and fury into the opposition. Which also ignited the public. They are not accepting the family rule of Gnassingbe. The Gnassingbe family rule have lasted for 50 years. Clearly, the public has their rights to address this and they have done so since the August 2017. They are continuing weeks after weeks upon end. What is worse is the meager silence of the world. The bitter ignorance of the situation. Nearly, every single day there is someone who has been assaulted and killed by the Police. This dictatorship has to stopped, the people deserves better and their demonstrations should be respected.

There are so many, countless individuals who has stood up against the ruling party and their second generation totalitarian dictator Gnassingbe. This because the President tries to abolish term limits, so he can overstay and continue to rule without question. That is seen as unacceptable and righteously so. Gnassingbe who currently rule has been in power since 4th May 2005. So he had has his time in power and is time to step down.

Since the African Union, The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), United Nations (UN) and all other international bodies has been silenced or just the mere smear documents. The different partners within Togo needs to have dialogue and needs to settle their differences. The bloodshed and the demonstration is creating instability and no-one earns on that. Well, the dialogue only earns the dictator and the indifference of situation only gains him. That is why the partners and the stakeholders should be aware.

What is worrying is not only the dying protesters. It is the utter silence, like it is denounced and the nothing of sorts from the for life President Gnassingbe. That he is not saying anything, while his citizens are suffering. The people are shot at, banned from demonstrating and if they do, they might be put on top of Police Pick-Ups and thrown on the back like cattle. This is fellow human beings, could be our brother and sister. This isn’t justice, this is the definition of INJUSTICE. The acts of belittling and hurting fellow human beings and using the powers of the state to silence them.

Togo needs recognition, Togo uprising need the support, and it deserves so. #TogoEnMarche and #TogoDebout. That people are lifted up on trucks by soldiers and anti-riot police, hit with batons and harassed. This is not acceptable. It is wrong and demeaning. That people are caught in police stations without charges and awaiting trial. For just standing up for the constitution and term limits is insane.

But that shows how bad the system and the state is, still the statements and acts of the international community is a joke. It is not sincere and deserves to be mocked. The citizens of Togo is under siege, their uprising is violently being disrupted and intimidated. Not like that matter, it is in the wrong zip-code, this nations main trading partners France and China doesn’t care. Benin and Burkina Faso has enough to deal with on their own. They don’t need to involved in the matters of Lome.

The Togolese doesn’t deserve this injustice, no people deserve this injustice. When we know that the civil disobedience and their demonstrations has been peaceful, they have been controlled and showed the power of the people, week after week. The Togolese deserve an intervention, because the state don’t care about their citizens. All the killed protesters, all the ones hospitalized and the ones who has loved ones behind bars. Should know that the international community stand behind their cause. Instead, utter demeaning silence.

It. Has. To. Stop. And. Now. This is not right, the Togolese deserves better. They deserve credit and recognition. They deserve people standing up for them and helping them in this hour of need. That time is now! Peace.

A look into the Niger Ambush!

Well, there is often now, when it comes to the assistance and the help from United States Army, it is less planned, but more erratic just like their President. The Commander-in-Chief, President Donald J. Trump is behind the mess created and the death, he is the last to order and sanction the violence. If the US Army is behind a mess in Yemen, it is on his hour, if its done bad in Niger, it is still on his watch.

Just like Hillary Clinton was in a mess in Libya, this is a story of how the United States might have inflicted much harm in Niger, without intelligence and backgrounds checks. Clearly, it must have been something gone wrong, when they are ambushed happen and there are conflicting reports of it. We cannot know everything now. Since the investigations of the different security organization will start. As well, as the Trump Administration are in high gear of deflections and trying to silence the story. Because, this is damaging reports. Not only his lack of compassion to the families of the lost soldiers in battle, but also the lack of collecting intelligence before striking at the enemies during conflict.

Here is some of the key aspects we can for now take from the Niger ambush. This is not the whole story, but some pieces of the puzzle, to make sense of the manner, the Special Forces operated and the AFRICOM Battalion that is stationed in Niger. Hope this gives you some sense of it all.

Context:

News reports indicate that the attack occurred near the town of Tongo Tongo (see Figure 1), in a border region where a number of armed groups are active. These include locally-led factions affiliated Al Qaeda and the Islamic State organization, ethnic militias, separatist rebels, drug traffickers, smugglers, and bandits, with the lines between these categories often blurred. (See CRS In Focus IF10172, Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and Related Groups.) Islamist armed groups regularly conduct attacks against local targets—notably focusing on government officials, prisons, schools, and individuals accused of collaborating with the state or with French-led counterterrorism operations —and against U.N. peacekeepers in Mali. Some analysts assert that the often heavy-handed counterterrorism approach of local security forces has contributed to worsening instability” (Arieff, 2017)

First Official statement:

On Oct. 4, three (3) U.S. service members and one partner nation member were killed while the U.S. was providing advice and assistance to Nigerien security force counter-terror operations, approximately 200 km north of Niamey, in southwest Niger. Additionally, two U.S. service members were injured and evacuated in stable condition to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany” (U.S. Embassy in Niger, 2017).

Niger Ministry of Defense Statement:

On Tuesday, October 03, 2017, a patrol of the defense and security forces and US partners operating in the Mali-Niger border zone was ambushed by terrorist elements on board a dozen vehicles and twenty motorcycles. height of Tongo Tongo village located about 80 km northwest of Ouallam. After intense fighting during which the elements of the joint patrol showed courage and an exemplary combativeness, the balance is established as follows: FDS four (4) dead, eight (8) wounded, partners American three (3) dead, two (2) wounded. In this painful circumstance, the President of the Republic, Head of State, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces and the Government offer their deepest condolences to the families of the disappeared and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded. They welcome the commitment of the American partners alongside our defense and security forces, they reiterate their strong support and encouragement to the entire defense and security forces in their mission of defending the integrity of the national territory and strategic partners for their continued support for peace and stability in the region” (FAN, 2017).

Report in LA Times the day after:

Officials hoped the missing U.S. Army Special Forces operative might still be hiding in the dense brush, rather than taken captive, and launched a massive search-and-rescue mission with aerial drones and other aircraft, as well as Nigerien ground forces. The death of four Green Berets in remote West Africa marks the worst single loss of U.S. forces under fire since President Trump took office. The president was briefed on the search and the discovery of the body, officials said. The casualties came as a heavy blow to the insular special operations community that increasingly shoulders the burden of America’s counter-terrorism operations overseas. The four fatalities, as well as two wounded Green Berets, were in the 3rd Special Forces Group based in Ft. Bragg, N.C” (Hennigan, 2017).

Chad Pulls out troops:

The development comes after the US slammed a travel ban on its citizens. Chad defence officials have not given a reason for this action, but it is believed that it could weaken the fight against the insurgents. Residents say the withdrawal of the troops had already impacted on Niger’s Diffa region, which has seen a series of attacks by Boko Haram crossing over from their base in Nigeria” (NAN, 2017).

Conflicting reports:

Eventually, after talking to the village chief, the troops got into their vehicles to return to their base, a two-hour drive. But less than five minutes after they drove out of the village, the convoy was ambushed by a group that outnumbered them two to one. About 100 armed insurgents, many of whom were on motorbikes — two or three people a bike — as well as others in about 10 sport utility vehicles, surrounded the convoy. They were armed with heavy weapons, including anti aircraft weaponry as well as rocket-propelled grenades, according to a Nigerien official. Soldiers in the joint patrol were riding in military vehicles as well as civilian Land Cruisers from the American Embassy. The firefight lasted two to three hours, the Nigerien official said, until a response unit from the military base arrived for reinforcements. French helicopters arrived to evacuate the dead and wounded as well as other soldiers” (Searcey, Cooper & Schmitt, 2017).

Lack of Intelligence in West Africa:

That very same evaluation additionally raised concern that solely 20-30 per cent of the US ISR’s intelligence, surveillance and recognition necessities have been met. UU. of the US (ISR). “This limits situational understanding, assist operations and presents no risk indications and warnings,” the command warned, including that the state of affairs is most severe in West Africa, the place the military of states United has roughly 1,000 individuals concerned in a dozen operations in a area of 9 nations. Nigerian officers have stated that the ambush on four October was on account of a “failure of human intelligence.” This useful resource hole “forces our workers to return to pricey and ineffective advert hoc options,” the command instructed lawmakers” (DrFeed, 2017)

I think these clips from different sources say a lot and shows that the neglect and the importance of collecting intelligence. As well, as knowing the intent of the locals and their loyalty towards the insurgents. Therefore, the joint-command brigade was ambushed. There will come more intelligence and more information, that will show the damaging information that is for now left out. Unless, the United States wants to hide their acts. The dead soldiers will not return, not matter what you do, but to see the causes and the reasons for their demise could be learning curve for the military and their operatives.

We cannot know everything now, but we will with time, as the investigations and the revealing intelligence will come to forward. Clearly, the White House wouldn’t touch this in the beginning, because they knew of the their misbehavior and has since tried to deflect it. Especially, since their own President has assaulted Clinton for her actions in Libya, this could be seen as similar and be alike. Therefore, the smear-campaign and questionable acts was taken to Congress in various committees, the same should appear in this case. But don’t expect it, because the Republican are still loyal to their President. However, if that turns and their show compassion and care for their Republic. They would have dozens of investigations and also look into the ambush. The reasons and the orders that was given, also why the people lost their lives in the village of Tongo Tongo close to the border of Mali, inside Niger. Peace.

Age Limit: Dr. Abed Bwanika prepares for a Referendum over the Magyezi Amendment!

The independent Presidential Candidate Dr. Abed Bwanika of the People’s Development Party (PDP). Who is somewhat a rare commodity in the political spectrum of Ugandan politics. Not that he has a giant backing, neither has such an astonishing public persona, that whatever he do it matters. Therefore, I wonder if he really has mattered since February 2016. Since he is a part of the Presidential Campaigns, but after that ends up in the wind.

I was expecting the same of the Dr. Bwanika, but he has showed me wrong. He has actually worked in silence within the means to stifle the Age Limit and the life Presidency. I never expected that of Dr. Bwanika. He has had a meeting with the Electoral Commission and the new Commissioner Simon Mugenyi Byabakama. Therefore, that he has applied to use an article in the Constitution called the 255, which states:

255. Right of citizens to demand referenda.

Parliament may by law make provision for the right of citizens to demand the holding by the Electoral Commission of a referendum whether national or in any particular part of Uganda, on any issue.” (Uganda Constitution, 1995).

He is actually pursuing the use of the code and article to stifle the motion of Magyezi Amendment to the Constitution, by settling the affairs through a referendum. Clearly, the President don’t want to that, since that means he has to campaign more and spend more on campaigns. The state economy is already suffering and is fatigued. Therefore, the cost of spending on cronies and manufacture the result will be hard for the National Resistance Movement. Who is meeting hostile receptions and at gatherings for pro-life-presidency.

Abed Bwanika has himself been a presidential candidate since 2006. So he knows how the two previous referendums has been. The one where the President one and kept the Movement System for another period in 2000 and the opening of the Multi-Party System in 2005, where the public gained the possibility for more parties, than the NRM. That is why the Presidential Elections in 1996 and 2001 was internal inside the NRM.

It is a bold move of him to push for this, as the Motion and law are still in the Legal and Constitutional Committee in Parliament, while the state are planning to wire the funds to the positive backers of the bill. So that the bill can be passed in parliament and settle the life presidency, once and for all. Bwanika, might doing the good deed by filling the Electoral Commission, the will of applying for a referendum. Certainly, something that the President will not regard as something he wants to do. He wants to steam-roll it, therefore when Bwanika fills in the Form D and the collection of signatures needed for it, as it is by law. Than, the ship might be moving from port, but expect it to be stalled.

This is a letter sent from the Electoral Commission the 18th October, and by the time Bwanika gets enough signatures, the agreement between the NRM and possible MPs might be settled. It is a Nobel idea and request from the 3 times Presidential Candidate, but if he will succeed in his mission. That is not certain, but for his act of doing this. Still, needs recognition, because there is nothing compelling and saying he should.

Still, he uses the Constitution and uses his time to fight the good fight and to stop the possible life presidency of Museveni. Peace.

Opinion: Dr. Tedros are you mad? Making Mugabe a Goodwill Ambassador of the WHO!

The newly elected WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreysus of Ethiopia. Have started with something really controversial. I am impressed by his act and his decision to pick Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe as a Goodwill Ambassador!

The report said the WHO director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, made the controversial announcement on Wednesday in a speech at a global conference on noncommunicable diseases in Montevideo, Uruguay. Tedros, as he is known, described himself as “honored” that Mugabe — whose government has repressed protesters and has been implicated in widespread human rights violations — had agreed to serve as a goodwill ambassador on noncommunicable diseases for Africa. Those diseases include conditions like heart disease and cancer” (ESAT – ‘Tedros Adhanom appoints Robert Mugabe as WHO goodwill ambassador’ 20.10.2017, link: https://ethsat.com/2017/10/tedros-adhanom-appoints-robert-mugabe-goodwill-ambassador/).

Tedros, have you followed the Zimbabwean President and his efforts in his state. If you should make them ambassador, should they make their health system good enough for themselves get the healing there? Since Mugabe is even traveling steady to Singapore for better hospitals and care of his advanced age.

I am wondering, what sort of idea was this? When did you get this striking idea? What did you eat and drink? Certainly, it was not injeera or Ethiopian coffee, must been something stronger and more powerful to your veins, so your pump stopped working for a temporarily moment. Since the moment of insanity must have hit your bloodstream and not carried enough air to your heart. Because, it is not with a good heart you could give him the goodwill ambassador position within the World Health Organization.

The 93 year old President, that has ruled since early 1980s, the former liberation warrior and who has attacked, oppressed and made sure no-one is questioning his rule, until this day. Has not done anything positive for the last two decades, unless it is letting his sons and wife spending fortunes in South Africa. Having a house in Dubai and surely emptying the state reserves for his lavish lifestyle. This sort of behavior shouldn’t be awarded!

Tedros, that is what you do? Who is next in line and who will get the next honor of your organization? Will the be another totalitarian dictator, maybe the one in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan or Turkmenistan for their will to fight specialized Asian diseases. Maybe, I should come with this suggestion, you might offer them a goodwill position too.

What went through your head and made this a profound idea, maybe that was why he came from the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) and was a part of the elite in Ethiopia. Who are so used of oppression and not caring about democratic principals. That giving a price of this stature to another fellow, who is making this system in his country. Just seems fair. Mugabe a goodwill ambassador, only in World Hell Organization, since he has created a living hell for so many in his nation for decades upon end. He has killed, he has silenced, he has oppressed and used all means to stay in power.

You shouldn’t extend an honor to a man of this stature, he should get sanctioned, he should lose his titles. Not get more, this is insane and shows the lacking character of Tedros and his reign as WHO Director-General. We now know that he favors dictators and their total controlling ways. Therefore, expect more insane leadership choices and know that Tedros do not care. He is used to get away with it in his Ethiopian government too. That is why the Ethiopian government has sent the army and militia to stop demonstrations in Amhara and Oromia. They have done this and the same have they done in Zimbabwe, that is why Tedros understand Mugabe and will show the older supposed statesman some honor. Even though most of the world will say he doesn’t deserve it.

This is insane, Mugabe shouldn’t get an honor, but instead a dishonor. Peace.
